Fantastic find, a small well run cafe in Dalwhinnie Village. Grat minutes with plenty Gluten Free options. Staff excellent and well versed on all menu options. Great service with fresh food.

'Found this' last year when my usual stopping off point at The Deerstalker was closed, and been there a couple of times. Really nice wee place with top quality food and drink. Staff were friendly and helpful, and great choices for brunch. This is my new favourite staging post when heading up north!

Ordered the breakfast roll, food was really good, they managed to get the egg perfect however there was a very limited menu and full breakfasts weren’t available which could be added to improve. Friendly staff and a homely vibe.

Re-reviewing as it's been a year, and I'm now a wheelchair user. Will that change things? To be blunt, no. If anything, it's gone up in my estimation. Staff couldn't do enough to help. The café is wheelchair accessible via a concrete ramp. The double doors were shut, but on both arrival and exit staff jumped straight to unlock the second door without needing asked. Chairs at the tables are movable and the young lad on duty helped to get us seated. Food was just as good, we had breakfast rolls and a couple of "Scottish BLTs" this time. If there is one quibble, it was that the bacon was all underdone, so I'd suggest specifying if you like your bacon well cooked. Definitely still the place to go in Dalwhinnie. In fact, this time we *did* go specifically so you can pat yourselves on the back for achieving that aim!

This cafe is tucked away off a main road, with a large car park outside. The restaurant is dog friendly and offers lot of savoury and sweet treats, alongside local beers and drinks. We stopped by for a lunch time snack, with a breakfast roll, followed by some cake and some ice cream. Very friendly staff and pricing is generally reasonable.

Very nice food, pleasant environment, a tad pricey. Interesting cafe, lots of choices (less so for vegetarians), good selection of eye catching cakes.

We visited while travelling to the Dalwhinnie Distillery, and were so glad we had! The food was lovely and beautifully presented. They had a wonderful selection of cakes, which sadly I didn't get a chance to try. I noticed they also had gluten free and vegan options available. The staff were super friendly, and it was generally a lovely experience!

We visited The Apiary café for breakfast on Monday the 26th of August 2024. We received a warm welcome, great service and the breakfast bap was just outstanding! Everything was so tasty and perfectly prepared. It is very evident that there is attention to detail and a real focus on quality ingredients in everything they do. We also bought some honey and coasters to take with us as a souvenir. Highly recommend this place if you find yourself anywhere near Dalwhinnie.

Went for a tea and coffee. Asked for oat milk, paid for oat milk, got cows milk. Beware or triple check what is put in your drink especially if you are allergic.

Just off the A9. We all had lunch and drinks. The club sandwich is highly recommended. Superb bacon! Also dog friendly. Was busy but well worth the ten minute wait!

We know the Tongue area very well, and like to eat locally, so it was obvious we would decide to eat at the Craggan, and i'm happy we did! The restaurant area is welcoming and clean, staff friendly, and the car park was easy even with a big van. The only problem was choosing from the menu! So many tasty things - i wish we had more time to visit again.. All three of us enjoyed our food, and we shared everything so i know it was all delicious. Thank you for making a rather wet evening so special..

I recently had the pleasure of spending a delightful day at Dores Inn, and I still find myself reminiscing about the experience six months later. Nestled along the shores of the iconic Loch Ness, this charming inn offers a perfect blend of stunning views, a warm atmosphere, and exceptional service. Upon arrival, we were greeted by a lovely ambiance that sets the tone for a relaxing visit. The inn has ample seating, both indoors and outdoors, making it easy to find a cozy spot to enjoy the picturesque scenery. We opted for an outside table, and it turned out to be the best decision of the day. The views of the loch were absolutely breathtaking, providing a serene backdrop for our meal. Speaking of the meal, I must rave about the food—simply sublime! I usually find coleslaw unappealing, but Dores Inn's homemade version was a game changer. It was fresh, flavorful, and complemented our dishes beautifully. Every bite was a testament to the culinary care that goes into their offerings. After our satisfying meal, we joined a Rib-Boat journey on the loch, which was an exhilarating way to experience the surroundings. The thrill of speeding across the water, combined with the breathtaking views of the loch and its mythical charm, made for an unforgettable adventure. As a memento of our day, I couldn't resist purchasing one of their handmade crochet teddies of Nessie. It's now a cherished keepsake that brings back fond memories of our visit. To wrap up our day, we took a leisurely walk along the shoreline. The tranquility of the loch, coupled with the stunning natural beauty surrounding us, was the perfect ending to a fantastic day. Overall, Dores Inn exceeded my expectations in every way. From the lovely atmosphere and great views to the delectable food and friendly service, it’s a place I highly recommend. If you're looking for an exceptional day out near Loch Ness, don’t miss the opportunity to visit this gem. I still think about that wonderful day, and I can’t wait to return!

We both had the Sunday Roast which was ok but we had to order extra gravy which is the 1st time I’ve ever been charged for extra gravy. The restaurant was very quiet only a couple of tables in and the service was ok
