Linda’s Cafe in Highland

Great little stop and interesting town. Stopped on our way to Inverness and just made an order before their deadline. The restaurant was closing an hour earlier than google posted. We had soup and sandwiches: minted pea soup was great and I had the crazy Sammy of the day; panini with tuna, bacon, Brie cheese, cranberries, and mayo. Scoff if you will: it was great!!!! Hubs had a hamburger which arrived with a fried egg on it: he loved it. The owner was warm and struck up a conversation with us on the town when we asked. In all a great little place for lunch.

We enjoyed a superb meal of chicken soup and minestrone with fresh, tasty rolls. The service was top class too. This unpretentious yet excellent place deserves to do well. It’s a gem!

So good loved it so so much the bacon was out of this world would 100% recommend best breakfast ive ever had just delightful. The staff were so smiley and very helpful! would definitely come back!😋

We had seen this cafe online and were looking for somewhere for Sunday brunch. Travelling by bicycle along a bikepacking route we were in search of good pit stops, Linda's is one of these. All day breakfasts and good sized portions filled us up for our big adventure on two wheels. We also met other travellers walking the John O'Groats trail too. We had a warm welcome and friendlty service. Will definitley be back, thank you.

A lovely little Tea Room that served us coffee and toasties, there was a good selection on the menu but what we had was just perfect!

Yet again the only establishment to get a good breakfast west of Elgin after an early start - opens at 0800. Friendly & good.

What a fantastic little find. The lady in the cafe was lovely and super friendly. The breakfast was well priced and could not fault the presentation and taste. So glad we found it and would be back again if we pass in the future.

If your looking for fresh,hot, homemade, wholesome food this is the place to go, very friendly, helpful staff and very reasonable prices. We decided to pop in today to check out Sunday opening times as staying on a local campsite and wanted breakfast when leaving the site! It now does not open on a Sunday as the owner needs a day off. Large free car park with toilets nearly opposite.

Called in for breakfast after a dawn start in the hills with my camera. The 7-item self-select breakfast was perfect - quality food, well cooked and served by friendly staff who were obviously loved by locals and visitors alike. Highly recommended, great coffee.

On the main street of Brora so easy to find. Had breakfast rolls and coffee, both good. Service was fine and the price reasonable.

We stopped here for a bacon bap - really lovely quality. Light bread and beautifully cooked bacon. Staff were very friendly and welcoming.

A traditional cafe with all day breakfast options, paninis, soup and sandwiches. We both enjoyed our food. The cafe is quite small but with plenty of space between the tables. Service was good too and price very reasonable.

Toen wij door het dorp reden was het tijd voor middageten, ik was het cafe al voorbij en iets verder is ook nog een vrij moderne lunchroom / tearoom maar daar zat geen volk. Dus toch maar teruggedraaid omdat ik bij Linda wel volk had zien zitten en dat is meestal een goed teken, en daar hadden wij later geen spijt van. Het is een plaatselijk cafe zonder poespas maar maar gezellig. Zij bieden diverse snacks en sandwiches. Snelle en vriendelijke bediening, zij komen zelfs je bestelling opnemen aan tafel wat in Schotland niet altijd zo is. Het cafe wordt gerund door twee dames en het is een vrij drukke zaak want er kwam continu volk binnen om te eten of voor take away. Toast was lekker en voldoende voor de kleine honger. Koffie en thee prima.

Looks like yer basic caff (that's often a good thing) but can also cope with GF well - able to go off-menu and just order what you actually want, no bother to friendly helpful staff. Great stop after bumpy (seasick) ferry back from Orkney!! Thanks!

My latte had the tiniest amount of frothy milk in it that you can imagine - it was a bit like an instant coffee with a thin layer of watery froth on top. Also, in line with this seeming ‘every expense spared’ policy, the place has no WiFi and the Brora free service they offer instead does not reach this building. So if you don’t use the net and you like very expensive cups of hot water, you might enjoy this place.

Not the friendliest place to call in, unfortunatley this is the first bad point. Food is ok, reasonably priced, quick, not much on the baking side and staff seem to leave and go outside (smokers) for short periods alternatively and this is through the front door making it obvious.

Have called here a few times and never disappointed. Really good food at reasonable prices. Friendly staff and most important, great coffee. Well worth a visit.

I have been visiting brora for a good few years and always make a point to have Breakfast in Lindas. The food is reasonably, priced, tasty and the staff friendly.

Posto trovato lungo la strada, dal di fuori carino, dentro.... ci si rende conto di essere entrati in casa di qualcuno, questa cosa ci ha fatto molto divertire, il bagno con gli asciugamani di cotone e vista sala, la lavagna tipo scuola, la moka, la cucina di casa, ci abbiamo riso su per dimenticarci delle condizioni igieniche che non ci sono sembrate poi delle migliori. Cibo semplice e prezzo onesto.

if you are on the North Coast 500 and started early then this is THE place to stop for breakfast or a quick snack meal-- nothing fancy but simply good food and a great welcome

Brilliant breakfast options and lunch and priced so reasonably in comparison to other cafes out there. We are always chuffed with what is put in front of us and the staff are good crack too.

Thought we’d nip in as Brora doesn’t have that many other food choices! Waitress was friendly enough although clearly bogged down by the amount of washing up that needed to be done. They kept nipping across the road to the Co-Op to get food which didn’t give off a good vibe. The food was ok but nothing special, plastic cheese, sorry looking salad. The place could be a little gem but needs a lot more effort putting in.

Cafe smelled like cooked fish, didn’t have light milk, very disappointing considering previous reviews.

Great little cafe, great food, lovely staff, quick service, will definitely be back. Prices are reasonable too.

Called in here for a light lunch whilst passing through on John O'Groats Trail.

We stopped here on our way from John O Groats to Loch Ness and it was just what we needed! Tasty jacket potatoes, a good cup of tea plus gluten free cake which we got to take away. Friendly and efficient staff. Thanks Linda!

Dad is 91 and Linda’s cafe welcomes myself and dad for late breakfast or lunch. Great friendly service and they can not do enough for you.

Stopped off here for a quick drink on our NC500 trip and we ordered two hot chocolates to go.

I often go in here. Nice cafe, love the soups and scones. Though all dishes are nice. The staff really do a great job. They are a credit to the Owner. ALL of them. My favourite 2 are Joan and Chris...

We had read all the good reviews about Linda's on TripAdvisor before popping in for a coffee & scone on a recent visit to Brora - however we were most disappointed when we entered the cafe! The first thing we were greeted with was an overpowering stink of fried fat! Clearly as a cafe one would expect some degree of aroma but the smell was so bad I simply didn't fancy having my clothes smelling like a kitchen for the rest of the day & left almost immediately! All in all this was a let down for us as we had looked forward to some home baking.

A great place to stop off and have some refreshments throughout the day. The food is great and the staff are immensely friendly and have a wealth of knowledge about the local area.

Good little place to get breakfast to take out - 3 Lorne rolls, 2 coffees and a tea came to £11.90- good deal. Only disappointment was the rolls had been taken out of the freezer and there is a bakers just opposite.

We visit Linda's regularly and we are always looked after by Linda, Chris and Joan - they are the people we know in the Cafe, but there are occasionally others who also look after us.

A small coffee shop type restaurant on the main road, easy parking nearby. Lots of locals came in while we were there, a good sign! Lovely scones, with a large dish of jam to share! Loos easy access. Some tables down the stairs, but plenty at street level. Several youngsters in getting chips at 11am (school holidays!)

Welcoming staff, good menu. Home made food, very good and not over-priced. Busy at times, but worth eating there.

And served a perfectly acceptable late lunch for those on the nc500. Available to purchase was locally made marmalade. Awesome

Ladies are very friendly and the cappuccino is great. Don't forget to take a scone with strawberry jam.... Nice.

The staff were very friendly and accomodating to us and arranged the tables to fit all 9 of us. We had a variety of breakfast rolls with coffees/tea, and they were lovely. The cafe is situated in the centre of the village of Brora so good location but quiet enough. Staff knew most of the locals who came in to buy their takeaway coffees/rolls... which was nice. Highly recommended.

A nice little cafe that does its job. I just had a drink but the wife had a quick snack with the pea and mint soup which she found very good. Service was good and prices good value.

This is normally a great place to eat and the serving ladies are superb. But today both my wife and I had a toastie and tonight we both have gippy tummy. Only our opinion, but kitchen staff may need to take care of hygiene - wash hands regularly etc., before handling food.

En una visita a Brora, nos encontramos con este café, es pequeña, tal vez sólo a 25 personas, estaba muy ocupado cuando fuimos, el servicio era lento y tuvimos que preguntar si nos pide en barra o si alguien se tome nuestro pedido, así que este podría ser un problema, si tienes prisa o si su impaciente. Como estábamos intentando matar el tiempo no importa, tanto pedimos el desayuno pequeño, un lado de tostadas y té para dos, sólo llegó a 13 libras, la comida era excelente, carniceros de calidad. La camarera era bastante agradable, pero eran dueños de allí2. No hay una gran variedad de opciones en Brora, así que puede ver por qué es tan concurrido, espero volver cuando nos visite de nuevo.

Fuimos para el desayuno con mi familia cuando yo estaba en Brora y valió la pena. Tuve la gran desayuno, muy bueno con grandes. El personal es muy agradable y no tuvimos que esperar mucho tiempo para nuestra comida, sin duda volveremos.

Great little cafe with helpful staff. Would definitely return. Our restless two year old was treated well. Good scones and Scottish breakfast with lots of meat!

After a 4hr. drive from central Scotland starting at 4.30am, a great breakfast was much neeeded and Linda's Cafe in Brora certainly hit the spot. Very friendly staff and everything freshly cooked to order. Great value. Even a convenient car park just across the road.

After reading previous reviews decided to get up early and head north for breakfast before our distillery visit at Clyneleish / Brora. We were not disappointed with a hearty breakfast, excellently cooked and delivered in a friendly and fun environment. If you are looking for a decent breakfast you cannot go wrong.

Stopped at this little café after visiting the castle at Golspie. I was delighted to find a well run establishment, selling excellent inexpensive food. and very clean toilet facilities I ordered a cooked breakfast, my wife a bacon burger. wow.... I had to help her finish hers. Great food and good coffee. The home made marmalade an added bonus Friendly staff made the stop well worth mentioning,..

Stopped off here on our way south from a visit to Orkney and enjoyed a cooked breakfast. There is a choice of a small fry up (4 items for around £4) or 7 items along with toasties and sandwiches. The small fry up was a good size and everything was cooked very nicely. There was a choice of hot drinks, including peppermint, fruit and chamomile teas. My friends enjoyed their food too. Our server was friendly although by the end of our breakfast she was rushed off her feet as the café is obviously very popular. I took 1 star off as there was a delay for my friend's toastie and we left smelling of fried food which wasn't too pleasant for the rest of the day but I would return for the potato scone and eggs alone!

Perfect for a quick coffee boost if you want to avoid traffic delays on the A9. There is a good coffee machine, and we had great espressos. Highly recommended.

Total waste of time waitress was so rude dint want us to be there she was moaning that They close at three and she had been there since 6.30 in morning all we wanted was a light lunch ir soup and and Sandwich she moaned about everything looked sweaty and I'm sorry to say rather dirty our soup was heated up in microwave we could hear her moan about everything she even complained about a coach party arriving at lunch time don't think her owner would be pleased hearing about this as Brora does not have alot to offer at lunch time

If you are staying in Brora or going further north make sure you make a stop at Linda's. Excellent scottish breakfast great serve and price.

Lovely well cooked Scottish breakfast with all the trimmings, with a nice proper coffee to wash it down. The meal was very reasonable for what you got. Great stop off from my trip further north to home in Huddersfield. The food kept me going on the long journey.

We go to Linda's for a quick breakfast when staying in Brora. You are always met with a smile. The rolls with bacon or sausage are delicious. There is also a selection of home baking. The soup is also made by Linda. It is a great stop for a snack.

Had a drink of hot chocolate which was really nice. The staff were very friendly, the cafe was nice and clean with a bit of a cozy atmosphere.

I visited Linda's Cafe twice in 3 days. The menu is a basic cafe menu which isn't supposed to sound derogatory. All day breakfast, hot and cold sandwiches, various fillings for jacket potatoes, scones and cakes, desserts and a specials board and of course full range of drinks. Apologies if I've missed anything. My bacon sandwich was gorgeous as was my hot chocolate. My second visit was a tuna jacket potato with hot chocolate and all good. From memory, £4 for the former and £6 for the later. Staff were polite and cheerful. The only thing missing is some background radio. Whether it be local or Radio 2 let's say, but that in my opinion would only enhance my next visit. But as I have said, all the important stuff at Linda's Cafe is fine. Many Thanks

Day break, October morning, welcome site for a food pit stop.No problem.Good breakfast, not cheapest, but one of the best. All the stuff you need to keep going to Scrabster. Lovely sausage. Good service, considering the time of day.Fit for another few hundred miles.

Stopped in for. Coffe and cake. It's bigger inside than it looks outside. Lovely coffee, and a good selection of cakes, and food. Very reasonably priced, and polite and friendly staff. Will certainly pop in again

Having travelled 200 miles on a motorbike and in need of a cup of tea, we came across Linda's Cafe on the A9 through Brora. What a delightful place. The staff were so pleasant and friendly. A very relaxed atmosphere, would definitely visit this cafe again if it wasn't 650 miles from my home in Cornwall. An absolute treat, would highly recommend

Called in for lunch on a day rail trip from Dingwall. Very pleasant and helpful staff. Nice lunch of soup and sandwiches with good choice of fillings, followed by a slice of very tasty apple and toffee pie. Good value for money. 'The Boys' would return again.

Very pleasant staff, great burgers and very good prices. Service was very prompt, place was full of locals. Check out the paintings of the staff on the wall by a local artist.

We stopped in Brora for lunch and came upon this quaint local café. All the food was prepared fresh and the service was exceptional. If you are passing through Brora, don't miss this gem. You won't be disappointed.

Visited in the morning for breakfast. One lady serving, polite and food cooked fresh. Great pot of tea and two bacon rolls (lots of bacon). Fab we will definitely visit again.

This seems to be a one woman band call in many times very nice woman nothing to much trouble cooks out the back food hot a few choices ideal just to get out the cold when working .Simple food like a bacon roll nice

Stopped off to get a takeaway breakfast sandwich last Thursday, 31st March around 9am, as this service was offered on the sign outside. No-one apparently serving on when I first went in, so went to get some more shopping and came back 10 mins later. Lady serving on taking a very long time to make two take-away coffees to someone she clearly knew and was having a good chat with like locals. While I could be clearly seen as the next person to be served, the lady serving didn't acknowledge my presence at all, not even a smile, bit of eye contact or even a "thanks for waiting - wont be long". After a few minutes of being ignored it was clear that this isn't a place to get a quick hot sandwich, even when your order is taken, so I went next door to Gows and got some fresh hot sausage rolls - lovely. Really disappointing "Linda" - won't bother calling in again. A simple bit of courtesy would have made all the difference.

Popped in for lunch. Good coffee and best home made soup had in ages. So tasty.Very pleasant friendly staff,spotless place and very reasonable bill .We will definitely be back.

Had a coffee which was good spoke to linda herself she said they were closing for refurb, Later that week. So I will be back to see the changes, hopefully improvements too.

A friend and I stopped off in Brora on our way back to Orkney from Inverness. We never managed to get breakfast in Inverness so I had see the place when we went past it as we went to a nearby car park. We went in and it was a lovely small cafe and the staff were very nice. We had a large breakfast which included 7 items from a list of fried breakfast items which was only £5.50 and a pot of tea.Food was delicious and cooked to perfection.Shall definely go back on my travels :)

We were off the ferry from Orkney that lands at Gills Bay at midday.Looking to get some miles covered as we faced a long journey home.We got as far as Brora and discovered Linda's cafè. Warm welcome , two friendly staff and Linda herself. Lots of choices on the menu, no stinting on the fillings and a super cuppa in decent sized cups. Linda herself is a very genial host and the prices will not upset anyone.Now that we have found Linda's place, it will be our goto break on the way to Orkney and back again.

This little cafe seats 16 indoors and several more in good weather outdoors. Sitting on the A9 in the village of Brora, the café provides excellent breakfasts, home-made soup and light meals. Spotlessly clean with friendly staff, I would certainly go back when in Brora.

My partner and I offen go in for breakfast. Always pleasent and warming and the food is always delicious. Linda always makes us feel so welcome

Was up at Brora for the football and popped in here for a quick bite. We both had soup which was decent despite being defrosted but the rolls in haggis that we had were absolutely fantastic.

Had lunch here. Everything is freshly prepared. Husband loved his all day breakfast which he recommends.
