East End Fox in Highland

Absolutely outstanding! We hosted our daughter’s Christening at The East End Fox on Sunday 17th and we couldn’t be anymore complimentary. From the team, to the food, to the drinks to the atmosphere it was perfect. The team were so attentive in making sure our day went to plan and continued to make sure we were okay with everything throughout. The food, just WOW! Everyone is still mentioning how good it was, so much so it was classed as the “boujiest buffet” on the day! Thank so much for making Maya Christening a day to remember.

En Fox el sábado por la noche con amigos, la comida excelente como siempre. El bistec se derritió en la boca y el entrante y el desierto para compartir es una excelente adición a la comida.

Estuvimos aquí recientemente para su evento de almuerzo princesa y estaba muy bien organizado! ¡Todos lo pasamos de maravilla! El almuerzo era delicioso y en general, muy buena relación calidad-precio! El personal era atento y siempre hay un gran ambiente aquí. Keith también fue capaz de acomodar una solicitud de comida especial para nosotros, por lo que estaba agradecido. No dudaría en recomendarlos de nuevo. También celebré un cumpleaños histórico aquí anteriormente y noches de Navidad. ¡Sigue haciendo el gran trabajo, equipo de zorros del East end!

Mi hermana reservó el almuerzo princesa para nosotros y mi niña pequeña que tenía un tiempo increíble las dos princesas eran increíbles de principio a fin y muy bueno con todos los niños que incluso se tomaron el tiempo al final para asegurarse de que los niños se hicieron una foto con ellos individualmente, que era muy agradable también almorzamos y la comida era increíble sin duda recomendaría el zorro del extremo este

In for dinner with 2 kids. On time and placed our order withing a few minutes of arrival. Barely another customer in the place so not even remotely overworked. Drink came quickly but food no. A very pleasant server came over after 45 mins to apologise the order was lost. My soup appeared about 8-10 mins after this. It was a further 15 before the kids single course was served. My chicken burger was fine and my son loved his mac n cheese. I was drinking Asahi which was nice but over £6 a pint is steep for a local establishment. The food was also pricey at £17 for a chicken burger. After this we waited and waited but the kids ice creams never appeared. We eventually just got up and payed at the bar. In absolute fairness the kids food was removed from the bill which was not asked for but appreciated due to the slow service. I will reiterate the young chap serving was very pleasant. I would go back for a drink as the place is dog friendly but I won't be going for food again.

Outstanding service & outstanding food. The East End Fox never dissapponts. Rebooked this restaurant for my mums 60th birthday meal for 25ppl, after a cracking 60th meal for 55ppl in November23. Back again on Wednesday to celebrate my birthday too. Thank you Max & Keith x Theresa x

We went with family who live locally for Sunday dinner. The staff were lovely and the food was excellent. It’s a set menu and everyone enjoyed their starters and mains - we couldn’t manage puddings as we were full up!!! The beef roast dinner was delicious. We would definitely return!

Had our baby shower here and it was fantastic , the pub is beautiful family and friends loved this pub and the interior and were full of compliments. Staff were friendly and gave 5 star service. Food was hot and fresh everyone loved it ,don't think they were any leftovers we had a buffet made for us .....delicious. I would recommend this pub for future parties as they are very attentive and will do everything to accommodate you. Couldn't rate it high enough! Made our day we felt loved couldn't be happier.

I hired the East End Fox for a surprise party and it was incredible! Staff were brilliant from start to finish, food was excellent and the in house DJ made sure our party was amazing! Perfect place for a family gathering, party or meal.

Went to The East End Fox on Friday night with my family for dinner, my mum and brother ordered their Friday night special of Chateaubriand steak for 2 people, which includes shoestring fries, a side of mac n cheese, fried onion rings, confit tomatoes, sautéed mushrooms and peppercorn sauce. They both said it was absolutely delicious and incredible value for money - £49.50 per couple. I had the fish and chips as I often do there, as it never disappoints. The East End Fox is without doubt my favourite place to go for a bite to eat, or even just to pop in and have a few drinks. The manager, Keith, as well as all the staff, look after their customers so well and go above and beyond to make sure that you have a great night. I'm lucky enough that I stay local, but it's definitely worth travelling to and you can see for yourself why it's an award winning pub!

Went for a family lunch, booked for 2pm, we were given our table and menu and left for 10 minutes before anyone asked if we wanted a drink.eventually we ordered. The food was amazing and the chief made me a curry from scratch as I am vegetarian and gluten free. The service however was very poor, considering the busy lunch service was over when we arrived. Having said that I would definitely return for the food.

Venue: The East End Fox Date of Visit: 9th March 2024 First of all I have to say that my we have visited this restaurant on a few occasions in the past and found both the food and service to have been excellent. However, on this latest visit we were very disappointed. Firstly, we had pre-booked a table for six for 5.00 pm but on arrival the table was not ready and we had to stand at the bar (there was nowhere else to sit) for 15 minutes while the table was being prepared for us. When we finally sat down we realised that we were right beside the front door and every time the door opened an ice cold blast of air blew right across our table and we ended up having to sit with coats on for the meal. When we asked to be re-seated somewhere else we were informed that there was no alternative seating available so we just had to sit in extreme discomfort due to the freezing cold blast from the door. When the meal order was taken each member of our party gave their requirements to the waitress but when the meals arrived there were major differences between what was ordered and what was delivered. Five fillet steaks were ordered – 2 x rare, 1 x medium rare and 2 x well done. What arrived was 3 x rare and 2 x medium rare. Two of the steaks were returned but as we were short on time for a show we were going to later we couldn’t wait for them to be recooked, so two people did without. The other meal was traditional fish and chips but was cold due to the cold door draught and was eaten cold. We settled the bill and lodged a complaint about the cold and the wrong order arriving and the fact that our meal was ruined and were told the manager would contact us to discuss the situation. It is now 10 days later and we still have not heard anything by phone or otherwise.

We came here to try it out. It was on a Sunday when we entered it was warm and cosy and little quiet. So we had the 3 course meal. Steak pie (stew with puff pastry) a small blob of potato’s and 2 carrots and a parsnip. We also had 4 juices. The starters were halloumi and stick toffee pudding. All this cost around £74. A little expensive I think for a pub food. Much the same the staff were friendly.

Staff are helpful but leets be honest, it’s no better than a brewers fare type pub, food is average, typical pub grub, nothing special but edible.

The East End Fox is an Amazing! place to go for lunch or dinner. My fiance and myself were both there for the Burns night, and it was our Anniversary! Table decor was so lovely, and the atmosphere was fantastic. The food was amazing. It was a 4 course event, and it did not diapoint. Parten Bree Roast Tomato and Crab Soup was to start! It was delicious! First time trying this, and honestly loved it, didn't get a pic of it, as i was so inpatient to try it 😁My fiance isn't a fan of crab, and the Manager Maxine was so accommodating and lovely, and offered the Roast Tomato Soup, which he said was amazing! Next up we had the Haggis, Neeps and Tatties, with Wisky Peppercorn sauce, which was just so good, I could have licked the plate! If no one was watching 🤣 main was Petit Fillet of Aberdeen Angus Beef, Potato and Garlic Terrine, Carrot Puree, Root Veg, and Tarragon, Red Wine and Mushroom Essence. Honestly this was exquisite! The Beef was so nice, just how we like it, the Potato and Garlic Terrine, was so good, I wish there was more, and again! If no one was looking, I would have licked my plate, as the flavours were awesome 👌 for desert we had a lovely Varrine of Drambuie, Heather Honey, and Raspberry Cheese cake! This was so good, my fiance finished his, and was then eyeing up mine, however, I was not sharing, as was to good to share 🤣. Compliments to Ferrier and all the other Chefs! The service was outstanding! All staff FOH and the Bar Staff, were so attentive, they all work so hard, to make sure us customers are having the best time, and have everything we need. The entertainment was fantastic too! We definitely had the best Burns night and Anniversary at The East End Fox 😁 we will be recommending the Fox to our friends and family. Thanks for an amazing night guys, and thanks for having us ❤️

The East End Fox has everything to offer without the need to head into the city center. I went with my husband for a birthday dinner on Burns Night. They offered an excellent 4 course dinner at an amazing price per head for under £28. The Parten Bree Roasted Red Pepper and Crab soup was so moreish. Starter Haggis Neeps and Tatties with the most tasty Peppercon Sauce, very light, smooth and a great balance of peppercorn. Mains was A Fillet of Angus Beef, potato and garlic terrine, root veg and the most amazing carrot puree! Desert a cute cheese cake with Drambuie and Heather Honey smooth and biscuit crumb was the perfect finish. Atmosphere is lovely, warm and friendly. Staff are attentive and always happy to help. So if you are looking for a nice venue for a special occasion, lunch, dinner (wagu burger is awesome) or just popping in for a drink it's definitely worth a visit. They also host every 2nd Sunday a great quiz lots of fun to be had and I'm sure you will make new friends too. So glad we have such a great place to eat and drink in the Eastend ❤️

As it was a family gathering we suggested this to the rest of family and we were not disappointed. Service was excellent and very attentive, food was amazing I especially love Ferriers pate got to say it is the best I have tasted. All the family cleared their plates with compliments to chef who came out to speak. When this was the old Barchnnie Inn we had all used this as our (local) The changes made are wonderful keeping the old worldly feel. Will definitely be visiting again

Well once again a terrific day at our favourite restaurant we enjoyed a beautiful Christmas meal with our family (and dog),service from Maxine and Gillian and all the team it was excellent.The food and presentation was as best of the best, it makes such a great difference when all is perfect and also can I say such amazing value!
