I had no booking but they accommodated me. They explained that food would be 15 minutes minimum. It came in 10. Great VFM given the location, portion size and quality. Wait staff were friendly and professional. Kudos to Naomi. Attentive, helpful & knowledgeable. She knew the dishes and product origin. I’ll be back for dinner next time I visit Scotland. The staff here are great, super friendly but they don't hover and make you uncomfortable. We had the mussels for starters and the sauce with the mussels was light and refreshing ( nothing heavy) We had steak for our mains and it was delicious, perfectly cooked and super tender. We opted to have the whisky sauce with our steak and I swear that it came straight from heaven. The chips were cooked to perfection and the chef even came out to chat with us. He was so down to earth and lovely. I would definitely recommend this establishment. Ten out of ten.

I went there to find out. Hamburger good but not exceptional. A bit pricey for just a medium sized burger (£7.95). However, the meat and bread are of good quality. Very little room to eat seated inside, especially if there are many of you.

The whole experience was luxuriant from start to finish. I took my boyfriend for his christmas as he had always wanted to go. It did not disappoint. We did the tasters menu, and what a delight it was. My favourite courses were baked scallops, which was a pre starter, and the venison steak, which was the main. But honestly, every course was delicious and beautifully presented. The staff were lovely and very helpful. I would highly recommend it. Be aware it is pretty pricey but oh so worth it for a special occasion.

Christmas menu disappointing especially dry turkey. We should have sent it back. Most tables empty despite us being contacted to pre-order.

We have dined at Timberyard before and since the Michelin star accolade. Our experience on Saturday was very disappointing and felt very different to previous visits. What’s happened?? On no imagination is this a Michelin star restaurant: Red wine was freezing cold. The waiter ran it under to hot hap when we mentioned it was freezing cold. Classy? We asked what the wine grape was..the waiter pointed to the name of the wine estate on the bottle label…oops!! The meal was mostly bread. Bead before the meal. Bread with the starter. Not much else to follow. Portions were very small. The place felt cold. No atmosphere. The service was terrible. Waiters clearing our plates before we had finished. Felt very rushed and very intrusive. Waiters were walking up and down looking to clear plates. We were gifted a tea bag each on or way out as a special gift. Insult to injury! £230 for lunch for 2. Won’t be returning.

Called in at 11:30hrs on 16/12/24. Extremely busy, met by friendly and helpful staff Amy & Callum. Prompt service, excellent food ( French Pop Tart & Goat’s Cheese Toastie), very tasty & good portion sizes. A great little find & an ambience to match. Would confidently recommend, no surprise that it so popular.
