Another outstanding meal at The Cuddie Brae, Newcraighall. Wonderful service from Alastair and Leanne. Manager too can’t do enough for us! Food was amazing. Definitely one of our fav places to lunch!

At the Cuddie Brae today so disappointing chicken wings where very good for starters Fish in batter was disappointing batter very bland and small . My husband had mixgrill which the steak was rubbish, chicken dry with no sauce with it . I asked for barbecue sauce fir my grandad chicken nuggets and was told it wS £1 for small dish . The service was very slow .server was very very nice no complaints about her .coffee machien once again not working properly had to ask to get coffee to be done with by hand definitely would not go back

Having not visited in a while due to illness it took me by surprise that some of the staff had changed. Waiting for my son to arrive my anxiety got the better of me, however leanne calmed me down and seated me in a quieter part of the restaurant checking on me from time to time. My son arrived as did a very tasty pink gin - medicinal of course!! As always our food was delicious as was the drinks from the bar. I am loving the new food and drink deals on offer too. Special thanks definitely goes to Kayden and leanne for looking after us, nothing was too much bother and kaydens cheery smile brightened up our day. He really is a credit so don't hide him away in the dungeon 😋 He is amazingly friendly and lovely to chat to!

We keep coming back to the Cuddie Brae as it never disappoints! Last night we were served by Denise and a very lovely young man called Kadin. He was very polite and very attentive. He seemed a wee bit nervous but he needn’t be as he is a very hard worker! Hopefully see you the next time we’re in Kadin!

Food was ok, beer was nice and cold staff were very friendly, no footy on the telly was a downside though, so I had to go back to the Hotel to watch it.

We eat here occasionally and always enjoy the food. Today decided to have breakfast and go all out for the Full Scottish for £9.99. What a disappointment and a rip-off. Asked for poached eggs. They came HARD-BOILED and were tiny. The beans were a tea-spoonful, as was the haggis and mushrooms. It was luke-warm, oily and tasteless. You know when you’ve looked forward to something, paying plenty for it and feel let down - felt disappointed, ripped off and still hungry. £33 for 2 breakfasts and 2 coffees. We won’t be back.

Been here a few times now and it never disappoints. Staff always make you feel welcomed and it’s got a really relaxed atmosphere with some good pub food. My most recent visit we were looked after by the lovely Lesley who was great! There was a mixup with the booking, however she ensured we were able to still get a table and catered to us. Will definitely be back.

Returned here as had a positive experience previously and thought we would see how they faired a second time. Cannot compliment enough. From the moment we entered we were attentively looked after without it being pushy or overbearing. Between Sam and Lesley we were looked after with efficiency and both were happy to go through our selections with some special dietary requirements. Excellent service and excellent food. Thank you

Really enjoyed our lunch today. Service was quick and efficient and our server Lesley was absolutely delightful. She went above and beyond for my daughter who has a dairy allergy, making sure her desert was fun. Usually she gets a very plain desert if any at all as dairy free puddings are scarce. Lesley made sure her pudding looked fun and was delicious. Thanks for the great meal.

We have been to the Cuddie brae loads of times , but this was our first breakfast , and it will definitely be our last , £9.45 for breakfast NO cups of tea or coffee have to buy that separately which is a let down as every place we have been too does a hot drink including your breakfast, our server was great , but food was awful I gave my bacon and sausage to the dog that was in when we were having our food , I was going to complain but the staff were too instersted in their one conversation , or to busy on their phones I ate the toast tomatoe and the haggis - massive let down as GreenKing are morally great with food service

Arrived ,seated fast and drinks came fast.our waitress was not very nice at all,asked for a few things on the menu to be told we don’t have that or that or that ,I no it’s not her fault but she was saying like we were meant to no this .no smile ,nothing at all,she let the whole experience down .

Taken my mum for lunch for Mothers Day, my mum got fish & chips which she really enjoyed, I got the Sunday Roast and was very disappointed with this, meat was tough and the portion of potatoes was bad, 4 half small potatoes, veg was ok. Ended up leaving the beef as it was tough and tasteless, very disappointing as Cuddiebrae is normally wallyford nice food. I have been here lots as it’s local to me but I’d never get Roast beef Sunday lunch again.

Came in for dinner last night with my daughter. Our lovely server was Phoenix. Phoenix was very attentive, always smiling and has fantastic customer service skills. I watched him interact with each table and he was brilliant. Food was absolutely beautiful too so compliments to the chefs. All the staff were amazing and smiling. All round great visit 👍

Came in for food on a Friday evening which my parents and sister before a bingo night I think food was ok waitress could have been a bit more interested face was tripping her waited a while for drinks had to go to bar, when me and my sister went to toilets there were 3 ladies in one cubicle I gather they were in for the bingo don’t need to guess what they were up too as all other cubicles where empty they went quiet when they knew someone else was in but we know what they were doing, didn’t stay for desserts wouldn’t return

Arrived on time our table still had customers sitting enjoying drinks , we waited 15mins for our table to be available, our waitress wasn't great , no smile , or asking us if we were enjoying our food , the service wasn't great had to ask for more juice at the bar , waited 20 mins for ice cream , wasn't busy , no atmosphere, staff looked like they weren't interested or liked their jobs , won't be back , could do with a deep clean , especially toilets!

Was in with family, food was lovey everyone was happy with that, service and attentiveness by Nat was 10/10. The issues started when we had another server take over ( Lesley) we were left with a table full of empty glasses on the table, we ended up taking them to the bar ourselves! Desert dishes were left on the table for a good couple of hours. The restaurant did not seem busy and a bit more care to the tables and the review would have been different.

Booked here for a birthday lunch for our son’s 18th birthday as it’s near the university & welcomes dogs. We couldn’t have made a better choice as the food and especially the staff were amazing. They were very accommodating in letting us bring in a balloon & cake and were so friendly & professional. We were staying at the Premiere Inn for the Rugby in Feb, France and England we had our meals at the Cuddie Brae the food was amazing from the Tomahawk steak to the Mac and cheese all served hot and the wait wasn’t too long. The staff were friendly, polite and knowledgeable nothing was too much trouble. We got speaking to Nathan who was very passionate about his job and would make a fantastic manager. All the staff worked really hard.

My elderly parents still stay in Musselburgh and so we often take them out for lunch and this is a convenient and accessible option. We had lunch today and the food is always good - we had Katsu Curry, Haggis Fritters and a Fish and Chips. The menu is pretty broad and includes all the expected ‘pub lunch’ options. They have a large car park and although the disabled parking is usually full it’s actually easier to be able to park at the door and let my parents go straight in before parking. The service here is always fairly quick and we have always found the food to be well prepared, hot and good value. This is a good option for a weekday lunch. We did book a table and that’s often needed which is always a good sign.
