Delicious sandwiches filled with juicy, flavourful pork. I recommend the medium sized bun with sage+onion and apple sauce (homemade chilli jam is nice too). Don't let the long queue turn you away - the staff are incredibly quick and good at their job. Be warned, it's a tiny shop and you probably won't get a place to sit.

A little difficult to understand the craze around this fast food. A medium is clearly not enough to satisfy a little hunger but in addition from a flavor point of view we are really not there. I'm still giving it two stars because if you're in a hurry it might do the trick, but otherwise move on.

Dish: Pork chanwis, the only one in its classic format, according to the person who served us. Experience: Flat and many flavors. You have the cold and dry pork, the fucking haggis (which is actually what gives it flavor) and a sauce in there that gives it a sweet and sour touch. There are so many contrasts that it tastes like nothing or everything separately, depending on where you bite. — More fame than seasoning. Mame and cold bread. It is a tourist trap that you can avoid. It's not something you're going to come back for. Service: Fucking, crazy. I just came and went, no complaints. There are not as many people as you see on social networks. Location: In the very center of the chaos. Atmosphere: There isn't any, just a bunch of tourists and/or curious people like me, full of bags and souvenirs. Place: To enter and exit. You can eat there if you find the corner with tables free; It is to take away or to eat there. It's not for sitting in place. There is no photo of the food because it is worthless.

Yesterday we went to Oink. We are tourists and we know English, but in tense moments we get blocked. We had heard very good about Oink and we wanted to try it. It was 12 o'clock and there were quite a few people. We already knew what to choose and when our turn came the saleswoman put a lot of pressure on us. He didn't treat us well at all, he made us look bad and talked rudely to us. At one point I asked him about the sauces that were on the sandwich (since they were exotic to me) and he told me to look at the signs. Everything was in English, there were a lot of people, I got nervous and blocked myself. We are from outside and we may not know the language well, but that is not done, especially in such a tourist area. If tourists come at a time when there are many people, it would be nice if there were pamphlets with the menu in other languages at the entrance of the establishment.

🙄Incredibly overrated. Maybe I went on a bad day? All the other reviews says flavourful… it was so bland and mediocre . Meat wasn’t juicy at all. And the meat wasn’t hot or warm, it was cold. Got the Oink, the meat to bun ratio was terrible, big bun, little meat. Paid for extra cracking, got 1 tiny piece, and why is crackling extra? Sage and onion stuffing, couldn’t even tell it was in there. You definitely tasted the apple sauce. So it was basically bread and apple sauce. And the customer service. The guy with the pink hair and piercings, bro barely looked at us. Asked him a question and you’d swear I asked him to cut his arm off. And it wasn’t even that busy. Overall I felt so disappointed. Maybe I’ll try a different location.

Franchise of Scottish takeaway establishments (3 in all of Edinburgh), this one located on Victoria Street in Edinburgh, its specialty (and the only one) is pulled pork sandwiches, the very good bread is artisanal and the pork is very tender, juicy thanks to its slow cooking. You have the option of making your sandwich "a la carte" you choose the size of the bread of the 3 they have and the sauce you want (apple is the best). The place is small to eat there and at peak times there is a long line, it is best to order takeout.

Correct, but not spectacular. I had read opinions saying that Oink was overrated, but with so many recommendations on TikTok and even on Free Tours, I decided to give it a try. It's not bad for the price, but it's not the best sandwich I've ever had either. It's a cheap option for a quick bite to eat, but I found the sandwich a little dry. It has a lot of meat and little sauce, which makes it a bit heavy to eat in the end. It's not that it was bad, but it was difficult for me to finish it. We were also tempted to try a Scottish sandwich with pulled pork, especially since we were already hungry without walking around 😋 We even had to stand in a lively line of people, because the room itself to eat inside is really small, the interior is modest, the aesthetics are small. Therefore, in good weather, it is better to eat the sandwich outside, take it away. The service is pleasant and the young girls are attentive and turn around very quickly serving customers. It is a site that is highly recommended by city guides. Although I don't think a Pulled Pork sandwich is something very typical there, I do think it's a good place to buy your sandwich and continue with your day. There are three sizes of pulled pork sandwich and they offer you a “combo” that includes bagged fries and a soft drink of your choice. Around £10-12 is a fair price for the sandwich, the bread is soft and can be whole wheat or white. It's not a big deal. The meat is delicious and its greatest quality is the way it is shredded since it is very soft. They come accompanied by sauces, there are two that are “spicy” one with cheese or one with tomato. None of them are very spicy but they give some flavor. The place inside is very small so it is not very comfortable to consume food there, especially if you go during “peak” hours when there are many people lined up. Better than a chain restaurant but nothing out of this world if you've already tried good pulled pork sandwiches.

The food here is solid and reasonably priced, but it doesn’t quite live up to the hype. While the meat is well cooked and pairs nicely with the selection of simple sauces, there’s nothing particularly distinctive about the flavors. That said, adding crackling to your order is a worthwhile upgrade, it brings a much needed texture and depth to the dish. It’s a good meal, but not a memorable one. When asking for recommendations on what to order, Nicholas recommended the sage and onion stuffing because it is a herb and alongside the pulled pork sandwich. as a big fan or herbs myself, I really enjoyed this recommendation. The medium sizes brown bun, sage onion spread as well as mustard mayo was a great combo! The pork was tender and the bun was soft and the sandwich was delicious overall and great value for money! The only downside of this place is that it did not have a toilet, at least not in the public area - I can imagine they can provide you with access if you ask

We have been here at least three times its gorgeous food, but apparently, if you've had a drink anywhere else you can not be served, we asked for a carafe of water and a small glass of wine!! We are totally shocked it was half empty, too. We had sat down and ordered the casserole . They young waitress felt embarrassed telling us we weren't welcome . Really bad we feel violated. What a shame.

Escorted to our table, taken our food and drinks order, all going well, then to be told me and my wife had been drinking before we came to to the restaurant so they were not going to serve us!!!! Absolutely amazed, felt totally humiliated and insulted. I've been to this restaurant on many occasions but never again!

I went with my partner and we ordered two medium pulled pork sandwiches, obviously to take away because there is no place to eat inside. The food was very good, the only problem I find is that it is a little expensive for the quantity. However, the latter does not mean that I recommend going to the site and trying it if you are going to spend a few days in Edinburgh.

Nice to try for a lunch or snack. Wasn't as tasty as all the reviews but good to try

Meat was good, but should’ve been more generous on the sauce though. Lack of the sauce makes it dry and blend. The bun was soft and nice.

Learned about this place from Somebody Feed Phil (Netflix). It was loaded with pork, but needed a bit more flavour (maybe for my Indian Palette) But great place to catch a quick bite while enjoying victorias street

Very friendly staff. We went on the recommendation of a guide, we didn't like it, the taste of the meat was very insipid. I recommend ordering one to share, if you like ordering another. I'm not going to repeat. There is no toilet either. I give two stars for the friendliness of their employees.

My experience on the site has been generally very good; They have been quick when it comes to giving us food, there is a sign that shows the menu in different languages for the foreigners who come. Regarding the place, it is quite small and there is hardly any place to sit (a few stools and three bars), I would recommend taking it to go. Now regarding the food, in case anyone doesn't know, they are open until the suckling pig they cook is finished, I don't know if that morning or the night before, so you have to be quick. There are three sizes of bread to choose from, as well as sauces and "topping". For me the meat is nothing out of this world, but it is very good although what I would highlight would be the bread or even the sauce they add. I would have liked to have taken a photo but I completely missed it, both about the place and the food. Finally, clarify that the service was very friendly and fast, as I indicated at the beginning, you may even be lucky enough to have them speak to you in your language because one of the workers, for example, knew Spanish.

The storefront made us want it, but the sawdich was super fatty and had no particular flavor. He stayed on our stomachs all day.

This is a special place by the quayside. Prepare to spend $$$$ on an exquisite tasting menu of locally sourced ingredients. The scallops from the Orkneys were exceptional. Extensive wine list, fabulous cocktails and attentive staff. Foodie paradise.

I was gifted a voucher so went to book a table. Doesn’t say on website or on voicemail that it’s closed. You have to then email to find out. Please just tell people you’re closed rather than making out you’re fully booked on your website, it’s just a faff. Shame it’s closed looks like it was a lovely restaurant.

My mom and I loved this place! We went there 3 times during our 5-day stay in the city. It serves typical Scottish dishes, like the best Fish and Chips I've ever had and an unmissable Steak and Ale Pie! The staff are super friendly and made us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere is also great. If you're looking for a place to have a memorable meal in Edinburgh, this is the place! Go without fear and thank me later!

It is 90s prices for 90s vibes. Students love I for a reason as prices are student friendly. Quite nice to watch sports but gets busy (for a good reason).
