We really wanted to try it and it's not bad to get by. There are several sauces and sizes of the sandwich to choose from, we ordered the apple sauce and it was delicious. The only bad thing is that the place is tiny and there is nowhere to stay and eat even standing up, the weather wasn't bad so we could eat without a problem on the street. For those who say they close early, they told us that when the pork runs out they close.

I was last month (December 2024) in Oink. Everyone was talking about this restaurant because of the reviews on TikTok and Google, and even local guides recommend it, so I decided to go try it. The food is good and, for being in Edinburgh and on one of the main streets, value for money is super good. Of course, it's not crazy either. If you go, I recommend ordering the large option with a menu, because I ordered the small one and, if you are one of those who eat well, you will be left hungry. One thing I didn't love was the schedule. One day we went at 5:02 in the afternoon and they told us that they were no longer serving, that they had closed at 5. The funny thing is that, according to the local guides, they often close when the suckling pig runs out (logically), and it can be later or even earlier, depending on whether they have product left or not. Still, we came back the next day at 4:15 and had no problems.

OMG - these pulled pork rolls are to die for! Seriously, make sure you try this out. Best I've ever had.

Visited Oink whilst in edingburgh, the queue was quite long but definitely worth the wait, they’re so efficient. I had a pigs in blanket with sweet chill jam and a just a standard roll with stuffing and apple sauce. I think the sweet chilli sauce was kind of overpowering however the meat was lovely and tender not too salty. Honestly so lovely would reccomend to anyone visiting Edinburgh, its a must have sorry pork police xx

Without a doubt you cannot visit Edinburgh and miss the visit and tasting of these pork delicacies on Victoria Street.

This is a special dish and it tastes awesome. The little skin is crunchy but only a tiny piece. The sitting place is relatively small and mostly high chairs. It is worth to try at least once in the trip.

This is a small venue. Sorry, what I should say is...this is an incredibly popular and delicious small venue. The menu is slim, but what they do, they do blumin well. Perfectly cooked pork, perfectly flavoured stuffing, all shoved into a convenient bread roll.

It is a MUST to go. Simply delicious

very small place, we had a short queue, very smooth, delicious sandwich with pulled pork and different combinations (of your choice) the place has some seats, a sofa and some stools. recommended because it is typical, we paid around £20-25 for two sandwiches (1 small and 1 large) with a cocacola

The taste of the menu suits my and my wife's tastes, the service is friendly and fast. The difficulty is that there are quite a lot of visitors and the available places to eat are quite limited, even though we can eat outside the restaurant because the menu is in the form of bread or in a lunch box.

We order 2 oink, with 1 with brown bread, onion and apple sauce and 1 just brown bread ,onion and no sauce. I think better without any sauce. The meat really tender and not salty. the buns is soft too.

Another must-see in Edinburgh. Fast food but made with the best pork. It is advisable to order the crusts (skins) to accompany the sandwich

I went there to find out. Hamburger good but not exceptional. A bit pricey for just a medium sized burger (£7.95). However, the meat and bread are of good quality. Very little room to eat seated inside, especially if there are many of you.

Food and service was wonderful! Everytime I visit Scotland I need to make a stop at one of them. Looking forward to visiting in the next 2 weeks!

Sorry to say it is not as good as before

After visiting the National Museum of Scotland, we decided to stop here for lunch. Despite the half hour queue, I must say that the sandwich was really good, with quality meat and a pleasant taste. However, there are some aspects that could be improved: the choice of toppings is rather limited (cheddar, salad/vegetables and potatoes are missing) and, despite having taken two sandwiches of different sizes (me large and my girlfriend medium), we did not leave completely full . Another note concerns the place, which is very small and a bit chaotic: it is difficult to relax because you have the feeling that the people in line are waiting for your place. Having said that, the sandwich is worth it, so it can be a valid option for a quick break, but I recommend keeping these aspects in mind if you are looking for a quieter and more substantial lunch.

You could say that it is one more stop to try one of the attractions of the place. The food is delicious, but if you are from Mexico it is not a big deal. Here I leave prices for the package they have during the Christmas season. In the establishment they are extremely attentive and friendly

It has the texture of pork, the bread and pork are tender and soft, and the applesauce relieves the greasiness. It is not salty and delicious.

Without a doubt a mandatory stop if you go to Edinburgh. You can choose the size, as well as sauces and toppings. Great!!!

The food is good. You choose the size, type of bread, sauce and extra ingredient. The price is not bad for what Edinburgh is and the guys serve you quickly. They have a few stools to eat there but it's mainly takeout.

Mega good pulled pork burger. We focused exactly on this topic. A pink house called Oink - suitable for pulled pork.

Pork is dry and stringy, even the onion filling couldn't alleviate that. Bun wasn't toasted I seriously don't get the hype around this place. Save yourself the queue and go to the farmer's market where it's actually good

Fast food, flesh in good condition but no spices. Pretty okay.

Battle food, we went because it was something to visit like the place for soups. Flavorless meat, flavorless apple sauce. Take away hunger and that's it, perfect for a hospital😅

We ordered a delicious shredded beef sandwich with BBQ sauce. They have a menu in Spanish. We ordered the large 10 pound one to share. It is to take away.

Honestly don’t waste your money. Me and my two friends came here after being hyped up to us. The meat was unseasoned and dry with the sauce (we got 2 bbq and 1 chilli cheese) being invisible. Somehow the meat was wet and dry at the same time with some slop of stuffing on a cheap white untoasted bread roll. The restaurant was grim tiny, overpacked with walked pork ingrained into the ground. Made me want to vomit when I was eating it and now 5 hours later I still want to. Waste of time and money.

You have to try it, it's famous and good, it's a pulled pork but one of the good ones and they spend a pig when it's finished they close. You can see it from the window and it is not expensive.

Oink, located on curving and steep Victoria St., puts out delicious pulled pork sandwiches on buns. They offer a variety of things, such as Haggis. Eat-in or take-away. I found it fascinating to see a roasted pig’s head on display in the window. On another trip, a pig’s body. Reasonable prices. Will return again.

Food is great. Haggis was my personal favourite For burger: 1. Choose which bread 2. Choose stuffing 3. Choose toppings Fills you to the brim. Adding a drink can be the topper. Oh they have meal deal as well. You could go for that. PS. Beautiful street and venue!

Their only product is pork, in a sandwich or in a bowl. They have the menu in different languages. They make one pig a day, they close when they finish it or at 5 in the afternoon. Good to eat something quick.

Quantity of the largest (250g) quite acceptable, they prepare it quickly and you don't have to wait long. Flavor and such, well... it's nothing out of this world, it's good but nothing more. Eat, you eat but it is not the greatest delight in the world either.

Stopped by here for lunch, I got a "grunter" version of the sandwich with more meat with haggis and chilli jam made by them. The flavors are good, I personally really liked the haggis with the pork. Good quality/price ratio.

It was friendly and had a nice atmosphere, but instead of a hamburger pad, they put a lot of things like braised pork in it, but (personal opinion) it wasn't that delicious.

Stopped in after seeing the whole pig in the window and we'll worth the stop! Make sure you ask for "extra crackle" - the crispy pig skin!

A cost-effective restaurant where you can get a meal for just 10 pounds. It's a good idea to pack it when going to the train station. Reasonable. Good for train food!

Good sandwich but kind of small (we had mediums)

Pork was pretty good. Was attracted by the large crowd in front, but left kinda disappointed. Espresso machine wasn't working, so I got served warm milk after the poor guy tried four times (while the store backed up) but was charged full price anyway.

Absolutely phenomenal never been disappointed, anytime im in Edinburgh it's the first place I head to the pulled pork grunter with bbq sauce and stuffing is a thing of beauty.

The food was good but it was still a lame pork sandwich. It has too much advertising and it is not a place where I would recommend going to eat. However, everything was correct despite being a little expensive for what it is, moderate portion, good flavor.

A place where you can find a delicious bun with pork, haggis and a sauce to taste! The service is a little slow and the space is narrow, but it's worth the effort.

Price/quality accordingly (£16). Do not order the full menu since the potatoes are from a bag. You have the possibility of reading the menu in Spanish, which although for me is not necessary, it is appreciated 😁 Advice, don't trust the opening time since the service lasts as long as the material for the sandwiches lasts, that is, 1 shredded pork, so you may come later and the store is closed.

Went there because Phil Rosenthal recommended this place in his show. That was a true experience! The staff is efficient, gentle and generous on the portions! If you go there, go on "the traditionnal", you won't regret it!

The place is curious and has a lot of fame. There is almost no room inside and there is a long line. It's really rich but not for the fame it has.

Very disappointed as we were a party of three, and two of us had the set lunch menu whilst one of us was not feeling well and only had a bowl of soup. When the bill came, the set menu price was not apportioned. Instead, all the items were individually priced. When we spoke to the manager to say that we were not charged the set menu price, he told us that all three in our party had to have the set menu, for that to apply. I pointed out that there was no mention of that on the menu, and whilst he didn’t disagree, he still charged us the full amount. Whilst the food was relatively good, it left a bad taste that they did not honour their lunch offer, and we will not return there

A very warm welcome and seated immediately. Our server informed us of the days specials, of which she was very knowledgeable. Water was brought to us as soon as we requested it. Pedro came over to ensure we were happy with our table and told us if we had any questions just to ask. Because we knew the portion sizes are healthy we just opted for a main. I had my favourite veggie haggis, neaps and tatties - absolutely delicious - never fails to impress me. My friends had the 6oz burger and were very happy with their choice. They thought the burger was perfection.

Not too much room inside, take away 2 sandwiches £7.95 per medium size, it's a little expensive, but it's very good and well stocked. Choice of sauce. I had it with apple sauce. The meat was juicy and tender. I recommend to do.

Very good sandwiches, at a good price where you can buy something for the road. The service is relatively fast, and it is usually purchased to go. They are cheap and quite filling, ideal if you want to visit the city and not waste so much time. To add a few drawbacks, perhaps a little bit of salt, everything else is very good.

Howie's turned into a great dinner to celebrate my husband's birthday. They reserved a lovely table for our party of four that felt private despite the restaurant being absolutely bustling. Our waiter delivered great service and the "Happy Birthday" written in chocolate on my husband's dessert was perfect.

Despite the lines of people, the service is very fast and the staff is very pleasant. the food is very good. It's better to be prepared to take it to eat somewhere else because they hardly have any space, but it's worth the wait.

We were just walking by and decided to stop in. What a nice surprise- great sandwich and not overpriced at all!!!

Underwhelmed. This will not live up to your expectations. You will think this will be delicious but alas it is not. The meat is incredibly bland, I suspect they do not even season the pig before they roast it. It lacks nearly any sort of flavour. The sage and onion stuffing is just a mushy nothing, perhaps a hint of flavour, and the tomato chilli I went for had a modicum of heat. The rolls are soft with no bite, so the whole sandwich just feels like a soft bland sludge. I got extra crackling to try, and the crackling had zero flavour and was very hard. I know this sounds like a one star review, however the portions sizes are okay, the staff are efficient. This could be five stars if they seasoned they meat and changed their rolls.

My first restaurant to try when i arrived in the UK. There was a long line when we got to Oink. So it must be good to try out. I got the Traditional flavor in Grunter size. It has sage and onion with apple sauce. Pulled pork on white bread buns. For me it lacks some salt. Thanks to the chips it added some saltiness. We availed the free seating inside. The free skin crackling is hard.

Minimum Oink size (medium). The original with "sage & onion" and apple sauce is delicious. They offer "extra crackling" for £0.55. Now that I know that they are little pieces of crunchy snout that give it a great touch, I would have ordered it. The normal one has a single piece.

This place serves very popular hog roast. There was a queue in the street when we visited. You can choose from different sizes of bun, plus stuffing, haggis and a variety of sauces. The meat was not dry so it was good, if messy to eat. The prices seem fair, bit this is more like street food than a cafe.

Super delicious pulled pork burger..

We were here two years ago and had a different experience. The one yesterday was not to be repeated. Chairs were on the shelves, so nowhere to sit. The meat didn’t meat any salt. The meal was dry ;(. We won’t come again.

It's by far the cheapest thing on that street and it still seems like a great idea to me. I ordered the medium size sandwich about four days ago and when I burp I still notice Winnie in my throat. It felt a bit like a nightclub in Magaluf, when a sparrow licked my windpipe and I was still sober. Pay attention to the smear on the table, more than one glass is still screwed there. And it is still the best option in that area.

Good-ish pulled pork sandwich.. probably more a 3.5 as I've had way better in The US.. good courteous staff and the sliders/sandwiches are reasonably priced - so a shaky 4..
