My mom and I loved this place! We went there 3 times during our 5-day stay in the city. It serves typical Scottish dishes, like the best Fish and Chips I've ever had and an unmissable Steak and Ale Pie! The staff are super friendly and made us feel truly welcome. The atmosphere is also great. If you're looking for a place to have a memorable meal in Edinburgh, this is the place! Go without fear and thank me later!

I try this bar as aI live near by, but the bar staff are always miserable and rude. I have given up, going back to places where it doesn't feel like a funeral parlour behind the bar. Their attitude to dogs is confusing as if they need to allow them but would prefer not, just make it a no dog bar, us dog owners have plenty of other options.

First of all, you’ll be having a drink in a perfectly conserved original pub. Their food is outstanding. Good portions and fresh ingredients. Service was also on point. Remember to have your ID at hand, as it’s a pub and they may ask you to show it.

Great place to relax, have nice food and drink, meet friends.

So welcoming we stopped in twice during our five days in Edinburgh. The warm and friendly staff and cozy vibe made us feel like locals. Thank you!

This place is simply the best...food from either Scottish or Polish menu is outstanding. Staff are always friendly and very efficient..and the atmosphere just makes you feel welcome and well looked after. An excellent local pub where you won't find influences taking selfies or being glued to their phones

Was there on my last night in Edinburgh and I feel bad I didn't go there sooner. The staff was friendly and the atmosphere was great. I certain "must go" if you're ever in Edinburgh.

I've only been to the bar and have been calling it The Percy when recommending it to people. But it's also called The Persevere Bar and there's a bar and a restaurant - quite confusing. However, when you get past the branding confusion, the place offers a rich menu with something for every taste. Haven't yet tried some of the Polish dishes but the classics - beef steak or a burger - are amazing and come at a very reasonable price. Service is consistently great and there's a quiet and nice atmosphere despite the sport screens. Dogs are also allowed which makes it extra welcoming.

I love this place. There's no better pub to down your greedy gullet with a few pints and whiskeys before and after glorious Hibs games. By the way, we highly recommend the Sunday pub quiz, where even idiots like me can get a point or two. I wish I was there now...

Lovely tiled interior with a couple of real ales

Rude and sullen woman with thick Eastern European abruptly harassed me with the barked order of “YOU MUST BUY SOMETHING!!!” before being shown the pint I was trying to enjoy in peace and encouraged to go find a dictionary and look up the definition of the word ‘hospitality’. Awful. Won’t be returning.

Beautiful bar with a real old vibe, carpets and moasaics on the walls and barrels and furnishings to make it look so comfortable and traditional. The food was really nice, but I couldn't give five stars as when we went, they didn't have a lot of things on the menu so it took 3 or 4 tries to get something to eat. The beer they have some local craft brews which are gorgeous.

Musician singing, 7-9pm, ...it was so loud, couldn't enjoy company. Everything else was good, as always!

Food is lovely and always fresh. Prices are very reasonable. The Polish menu is outstanding. I visit here regularly and am never disappointed. Staff are friendly and accommodating.

Perfect for a nice chilled lunch. This was our first visit to this hidden gem of a pub. Staff were so lovely & friendly. The food was fantastic! We had a starter, main course and a drink each and paid only £40! I highly recommend the burger & fries. My partner had the fish & chips which he said was delicious. The music playing was from the 80’s..brilliant! We will definitely be back.

Siamo stati abbastanza fortunati da arrivare una sera che c'era la musica dal vivo e Graeme Campbell ha salvato la serata con la sua musica. Il servizio era abbastanza lento e la metà del locale puzzava per via dei bagni. Finalmente ad un certo punto si è liberato un buon posto proprio di fronte al cantante e la serata è stata indimenticabile.

Interesting Polish dishes and more, tasty delicious burgers and most importantly, everything is fresh. I recommend.

Visited on 4th January 2024, not for food - just a couple of pints. Friendly service from the barkeep, nice atmosphere and plenty of choice of drink. Would visit again.

Didn't eat at the pub, so can't comment on the food. From the moment I saw the outside of the pub, I knew I was going to enjoy it! It's a traditional pub with gorgeous dark interior and a fab selection of drinks. The Christmas decorations were still up and it had the biggest indoor Christmas tree I've seen - beautifully decorated and just cosy and inviting. The staff were friendly and welcoming and poured a smashing pint of Guiness. A mixture of regulars, off duty staff and waifs and strays like my husband and I made up the clientele. There was plenty of seating, with large inviting booths available to rest weary legs. They're also dog friendly, if that's important to you. Will definitely visit again, and hopefully next time catch the pub quiz!

I went there when Percy.pl (next door Polish restaurant) was closed for private event. I still could buy the same food as they share kitchen. Food was great and the bar have a nice atmosphere with guests in various age. I like it and will be back sooner or later.

We really enjoyed our time here! Friendly staff, beautiful place, they recommanded me a good scotch. Thay are dog friendly.

Extremely kind Lady at the bar allowed me to use toilet today . Being disabled I really appreciated her kindness. Will definitely pop in some day soon for dinner , lovely atmosphere. Bless you kindness goes along way.

Me and my friend We went there for late lunch. We ordered pancakes with goulash and cucumbers in brine Delicious . I can highly recommend this main course. It reminded me taste of Poland. Portions were huge, but we ate them all. Scrumptious

Been going to the adjoining Polish restaurant for years not realising they offer a Scottish menu in the bar next door. Firstly, it's a traditional old pub that's immaculately kept. There are plenty of TVs so it's great for watching live sport. There's a decent range of whiskies for locals and tourists a like, as well as beers (including several Polish options), wines and cocktail specials. The food is excellent: hearty, generous portions and cooked with care and attention. My chicken Balmoral was brilliant. Although Edinburgh has an amazing food scene, I think it lacks really good, homely pub food - and that's what you get at The Percy - and it's very favourably priced.

What a great little bar. My new local. Great beer and drinks with first class fresh homemade food different to your usual pre prepared factory stuff. All at good prices and nice staff .What else do you want

I believe my grandfather used to have business meetings here as it was excellent then. Nothing has changed. Outstanding food and excellent service. I couldn't recommend this place more.

Waiting around an hour for food. After 45 minutes went up to check where it was and the waitress said it would be 5 minutes. 10 minutes later and no food so went up to check and said it’s been an hour the waitress said ‘do you know we have a busy restaurant next door?’ And ‘it’s not been an hour’, and proceeded to be be a bit snippy with us whilst bringing us food. Food came and was really nice and large portions but bit unreasonable to be trying to justify such a long wait for food.

We had a Lovely pub lunch and drinks here today, service was really good, big old fashioned style pub, good beer and gins. Simple but extremely tasty menu. Everything you would want from pub grub. Fish and chips was excellent. Batter was crispy and fish fresh. Only criticism I have was the Size of the gin glasses, would have liked a larger glass, but thats just a personal preference. Extremely cheap, had to double check that it was correct as was just over £20 for two gins with mixers and fish and chips. excellent value!! Would definitely return for food and drinks.

Bit loud and small location. But the food was great, the service amazing, and the portions gigantic. Recommended

I booked a table for 9 people for my husband's 81st birthday. The food when it finally came was adequate but the service was appalling with several mistakes being made with the order and long gaps between courses and also some members of the party waiting for 10 -15 minutes for their food after others were served. We haven't been here for some time since we no longer stay in Leith but certainly won't be in any hurry to come back

Bellissimo pub, pulito e accogliente. Staff gentilissimo e cibo presentato con classe e cucinato molto bene. Abbiamo mangiato antipasti che variavano dai cavoli in pastella alle polpette di haggis. Poi fish and ships con contorno di insalata. Tutto gustosissimo. Ottimo rapporto qualità prezzo.

Nice boozer with a couple of hand pulled pints on when I visited. No charging points for phones which in this day and age I guess can be a pain for people. Barmaid was pleasant and cheery

We came across this bar walking back from seafield thought it would be as good as any we would find in the city centre. The portions were huge but you can have a smaller menu . Food was good biggest piece of haddock I’ve ever had , steak pie was good too. Friendly staff nice toilets nice ambiance reasonable prices for the area . I would return

Great food (British Menu). Plenty on the plate, lots to choose from, friendly staff ,very attentive, great atmosphere will definitely be back. And reasonably priced. Thoroughly enjoyed ourselves .if your in leith bottom of Easter road feeling hungry then pop in here, you won't be disappointed.

We had another dinner cancelled when we came in here. Absolutely fantastic food that was served with good portions. Each dish we tried exceeded our expectations and their goulash was the best I've had. Of all the restaurants I've tried in Edinburgh after living here for 5 years, this is definitely in the top 5. Try the pierogi fried!

I only discovered this place not long ago and it's now my new local! Brilliant pints of Guinness, great food (both bar menu and polish menu) and friendly staff.

Really rude and even arogant level of service from blond haired woman, asked for a simple little thing and received ,,disgusting" kind of answer. I regret entering this place and i wish i would be treated even half the way all those ,,satisfied" people was treated.

The politest and most helpful barman in Edinburgh! We wandered in here early afternoon and the barman was just so helpful and friendly. Traditional pub with a good selection. The usual locals all adding to the atmosphere. Highly recommended if you are in Leith. Date of visit 25 August 22.

From the cabbage n ribs, it was good somewhat pretentious in delivery and clientele. I got asked why I was there, the toilets were away down but clean. Overall a great pint and staff were good apart from nosey boss. Yeah top drawer, yeah pub if the year from me❤️

Booked 2 tables our group was a mix of adults and kids. Food was great (fish was huge) staff were brilliant no problem getting served at the bar. Becoming our favourite place to go on a matchday.

Great local friendly pub. Watched the hibs beat the hearts. Easter Road on fire. Only objection kitchen closes at 9. They have tables and outside - Great to have a pint while soaking in the sun. Friendly sweet.
