This Cafe 'formerly 'the Thistle' Now 'THE MAISON' is Like finding a golden nugget to me, I like a morning roll such as egg sausage bacon etc. And if there is one thing that annoys me is the dreaded 'dry roll' without spread of some sorts. One of the things i like about this new cafe is ‘They do this... without you having to ask’.. Now after warning 3 Other cafes in the area if they continued the practice of the 'dreaded dry morning roll , I would go elsewhere. Unfortunately they continued to give me thee old Gordon Ramsey trick of sticking the roll on the hot plate & Ignored my customer feed back.… So what did i do?… Well being a man of my word, I do not accept ‘second best’ and Loe and behold the next again Day…. I find this Diamond of a cafe' THE MAISON' who believe in giving the customer what they want … So let me say... this this is the best Cafe in the Tollcross area, so give them a try I guarantee you will not be disappointed and will surely become a regular. Apart from morning rolls & breakfasts they have an Excellent lunch and dinner menu, you will walk away completely satisfied with the food and thee Delightful helpful and polite staff Staff.

Trovato per caso, ma molto soddisfatto. Ottima pizza preparata con ingredienti di qualità ad un prezzo molto contenuto per Edimburgo. Lo consiglio a chiunque voglia mangiare una vera pizza napoletana.

What a find when needing coffee and a cake on a Saturday morning when waiting for my son to finish up at a nearby birthday party. Lovely, friendly service, good coffee and a lovely selection of snacks. I was able to grab one of the tables and sit and work for a wee bit, just listening to life go by as I did. Magic.

Great atmosphere in the restaurant/bar of Voco Hotel at Haymarket and delicious food. Our waiters Cole and Jake were very polite. We will definitely visit again. I can recommend the pepperoni pizza and the tomato soup.

The staff were really friendly and took the time to go through all the different flavour combinations. The price was really good considering all the cakes are baked on-site and they offer a student discount. The white chocolate filled cupcake I had was really moist and tasty without being overly sweet. The latte I had tasted more like a cappuccino but considering how new the business is I feel they are still finding their feet. There are only 2 tables and 2 chairs (so seating for about 4) but the decor is so cute and the seating was incredibly comfortable.

Had our wedding reception here and highly recommend it. Great venue and fab staff. We were married in Greece a few weeks ago and they had our wedding pics running on a tv screen and projector in main hall which was a really nice touch. Canapes were arranged for beginning of the night and a buffet later on with good selection of food.

Best cocktails around Edinburgh and great staff. Best whiskey sours ive had in a long time. The venue itself is unique also accompanied by good tunes.

Gran experiencia. Te sumerge en una atmósfera muy escocesa, donde hemos disfrutado mucho de la comida tradicional y de la música en directo. Muy recomendable!

Lovely place, friendly service and freshly prepared breakfast

Wonderful cosy atmosphere - away from the hustle bustle on Princes street. Excellent food - and we were even given a sampler of the eggplant faux feta stew to try - smoky and delicious. I felt a genuine care and love of what they are doing. That pervades the food. Definitely worth a visit
