GF in Edinburgh, City of

Can't rate the food because never got to try it. Travelled out my way on a Saturday morning, battled for a parking space and was sadly greeted at the door with a closed sign (even though open online).

A small place but a definite gem. A beautiful gluten free breakfast and a very friendly waiter who couldn’t do anymore for us. A must for people looking for a safe gluten free café.

A great place in Edinburgh for your breakfast. The food is really great and also 100% gluten-free. It is a small but cozy restaurant and the host is very friendly. Next time I'm in Edinburgh, I already know my regular breakfast place ❤️

It's a small shop, but they make wonderful food. The employees were all friendly.

Amazing amazing Amzingggg!!!! Too small for what it deserves, hopefully it can extend in the future since the food, service and atmosphere are incredible. Also very cheap, would of happily payed more! I bought a panini, tea and cake for less than £10! And of course very catering to dietary requirements.

The GF Cafe has a wonderful menu and all items are celiac safe. I had the pasta with bacon and chicken and it was delicious!! Non celiac husband had a bacon and egg roll and some of my pasta and enjoyed both! Staff was delightful and personable. Will definitely go back for another menu item before we leave Edinburgh.

I am writing this from the café after having just finished one of the best meals I've had since coming to Scotland a year ago. If you come here you will be spoiled for choice and service. Everything on the menu is GF and the owners go above and beyond. Had the full breakfast with hashbrown, potato pancake, fried eggs, streaky bacon, sausage, and an orange juice for under £10. The hours can be a little unpredictable due to small staffing, but if you have the time and patience to keep trying, you will definitely NOT be disappointed. Highly recommend and will absolutely be back.

I went to the GF Cafe 10 min after the official opening time and the owner just arrived. Nothing ready and no breakfast for me there. That was an unprofessional experience. Not again.

Right around the corner of Haymarket station in Edinburgh there is this small lovely cafe that has everything gluten free. Food is fantastic for a breakfast or lunch (leek and potato soup was superb). Staff is also nice and friendly. Definitely worth to stop by

Lovely cafe, lovely food, all fresh made gluten free food! The gluten free biscuits and cakes were to die for! We both had full English breakfast and it was so good! The smoothies were also delicious and Dairy-Free. The table next to us ordered the pasta salad and the portion was very large and looked delicious!

A great little cafe tucked away a little distance from the city centre. Not much space but they make great use of what they have. Delicious selection of savoury sandwiches, paninis and meals, great service and very considerate of dietary issues. It's a very popular place so aim for quieter periods if you want to eat/drink in. Brilliant price too, £12 for two breakfast rolls, a coffee and cake. Heartily recommend and will be back when we return to Edinburgh in future.

Truly recommended place: everything gluten-free but equally tasty even for those who don't have this need. Really good full breakfast, delicious caramel shortcake, friendly and very kind manager. The pasta menu may seem "particular" for an Italian, but then again we are not in Italy 😁

Very cute little bakery, worth the trip out to visit if you’re gluten free. Very affordable but kind of small portions if you’re really hungry. Waiter was very kind and attentive.

Find it quite hard to get a snack before the Hearts game with being Celiac and popped into her to get a panini and a filled roll. The service was brillant for the chap and a great selection of GF rolls, panini, soup and much more. It’s a nice set up they have here and will pop in more often before the football. Came here twice during our few days in Edinburgh. Our first visit the man behind the counter was so friendly and helpful it really brightened our day. The gluten free bread rolls were lovely and soft. Second time they were very helpful with us customising a veggie breakfast and it was delicious. I'd highly recommend for the gluten free food and for the service! Great value for money

Cute, local cafe with entirely gluten free menu, and the most friendly staff. We had warm conversations with the staff both time we visited and felt so happy to be there. He gave us great recommendations on the menu, and we customized our gluten free paninis. Had to go back two days later for another! Thank you for the experience and the good eats! Cheers

Just visited gf cafe for the second consecutive morning. If you are gluten intolerant this is the place for you . Definitely recommend the full breakfast with an americano coffee which is exceptional and at £9.50 good value too. We all know how expensive gluten free stuff is to buy from the supermarket which makes this a gem of a cafe . Special mention for the staff who were really welcoming and helpful.

Komplett glutenfreies Cafe, absolut sicher für Zölis. Auch auf sonstige Allergien wird eingegangen. Es gibt Rolls und Paninis mit diversem Belag, Suppe, Full English Breakfast und süsses Gebäck. Sehr nettes Personal! Moderate Preise. Das Cafe ist winzig, es gibt nur wenige Sitzplätze, also eher Takeaway einplanen.

The food is so delicious and staff are so friendly! Such a huge selection of gluten free rolls, paninis, salads and pasta dishes (with dairy free options too!) and great prices. We didn't try any sweet treats but I bet they're just as good, and there is a great selection there aswell! ♥️♥️ (It was so nice to have a proper quality gluten free sandwich that I actually cried a few happy tears)

Amazing gf food and the service was outstanding.

The food is delicious, even my non-gluten free boyfriend loved the food but the highlight was the service. I wish we got the name of the lady who served us because my boyfriend and I both agreed she was one of the best parts of our entire trip to Scotland! She was so kind and sweet and made sure we were well taken care of and she just deserves so much credit!🥹

Superb for coeliacs. Excellent breakfast, bakewell tart is amazing. Lovely serivce and it's very reasonably priced. I wil miss it, have to come back to Edinburgh again!!

A hankering for a bacon roll resulted in a visit to this little café after reading about it on a blog. First, the positives. I had a filled roll with bacon, sausage, fried egg and brown sauce and it was delicious. It's hard to find nice GF bread rolls at the best of times, so it's always a plus when you come across one that's soft and tasty. The staff are friendly, charming and attentive and create a nice vibe in the somewhat rundown space. Now, the negatives. I've been here twice now, and each time there has been quite a lengthy wait to both order, and get, the food (about 20-30 mins in my experience). This is just long enough to stop me making this a more regular visit. If the food could be produced quicker, I'd definitely visit more often. It's also a bit hit and miss whether the place is open or not, though they do update their Instagram page on the day if they are closed, but again, this makes it hard to plan more regular visits.

Me and my friend (Gluten Allergy) came down last Saturday for breakfast and the place was so cute and cosy and the staff were so kind and attending and friendly . And the food was so delicious and healthy, considering my friend didn't have any weird reaction with the food (happens a lot here in London). Sadly, were back in London, continuing with our work but when I come back to Edinburgh, I will definitely visit here again . Thank you for your service . ☺️

The friendliest café I’ve ever visited! It’s a bit small inside but the service was the friendliest I’ve ever experienced. Very welcoming atmosphere and the food … oh my god .. I just ate the walnut cake and I thought I’m in heaven. The paninis are also super delicious. Absolute recommended for people like me who can’t eat something with gluten. Yummiiieee

The service here is absolutely impeccable but it is gets very busy, especially for how cramped the cafe it is. Definitely better suited for takeaway. Good for a quick bite as someone who is gluten free but not worth going out of your way for just for comfort sake. The food is basic but 100% gluten free. I did appreciate them asking about milk and cheese preferences where appropriate. It's obvious they care about all allergen requirements and not just gluten free. Coffee is definitely an afterthought to the food here so if you're looking for a breakfast panini and a warm drink if grab the panini and then a drink down the street as you are surrounded by speciality coffee shops.

What a great place for brekky! We popped in on the way to the rugby and were really looked after extremely well by the team but the front of house man, Matt, went way beyond with the attention. Nothing was too much. Not just with us but with others who were in the cafe. I'd wholly recommend.

Fantastic freshly prepared food. We had the breakfasts and it set us up for the day. Reasonably priced, fresh & flavoursome with the bonus of being gluten free. If they didn’t tell ya you wouldn’t know it! All topped off with wonderful customer service

We specifically sought this place out during our stay in Edinburgh and it didn't disappoint. Amazing customer service from the owners, who were so cheerful and couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We ordered a chicken & halloumi salad, a pasta dish, a bacon roll, two hot drinks, two cans of pop and a cake and it came to £26. Most places that offer gluten free try to exploit the customer and triple the price, but that certainly wasn't the case here. All of the food was delicious and presented beautifully. It's such a shame there aren't more of these cafes around. Thank you GF for such a fantastic lunch, it made our day.

Perfect. All the food they offer is gluten-free. From different types of brownies, cakes and sweets for breakfast to panninis, rolls, pastas, soup of the day, salads, etc... All very delicious and at a reasonable price. The owner is a charming woman, very attentive and pleasant. A wonderful place in Edinburgh if you have celiac disease.

When I found GF Cafe I was so so happy, but when I found out their entire menu was COMPLETELY gf, I was buzzing! They have such a great menu, from full Scottish breakfast, to hot filled rolls and from paninis, pastas to homemade cakes. Honestly I could not recommend gf cafe enough. The man who served us was lovely and very helpful which we valued. The cafe itself is small and cosy, perfect for a quiet lunch spot. I would 100% recommended GF Cafe on your next visit to Edinburgh!

A quaint and cosy little cafe that is 100% Gluten Free, which is obviously perfect for those with those dietary needs. A fine selection of typical breakfast items; hot filled rolls, panini, soup, pasta, full breakfast, coffee, tea. Two notable takeaways are how affordable the menu is, especially given the fact they cater to GF (which most places charge a premium for). The second is how friendly the staff are, very attentive. My only constructive criticism is that the coffee quality is so-so.

Amazing place and a must visit for anyone with a gluten intolerance. The customer service is excellent, myself and my partner have visited numerous times and the lady behind the counter is always very pleasant and accommodating. The chef clearly takes pride in his work and this is represented by the quality food.

My partner and I (who is GF) went there every morning during our stay in Edinburgh August 2022. The staff were always so lovely and welcoming, the food and was amazing, the freshness of the breakfast panini's and rolls were incredible. We're planning on coming back again on our next trip. Would highly recommend anyone to go visit them, GF or not.

Me and my gluten eating wife visited for breakfast during a weekend trip to Edinburgh, and both opted for a gluten free breakfast roll. We both agreed that the food and the service were divine! I even took away a couple of cakes for later on. Super tasty and safe - what more could a coeliac want!

Ordered soup of the day but didn't show up. My son is with food allergies of gluten, dairy, nuts. Confirmed with staff before ordering the chicken & bacon pasta. Yet he needed to go to hospital after eating.

I stopped here for a leek and potato soup and a lovely dairy free biscuit 🙂 loved it. Will definitely go back now that I discovered this place. It is difficult to find GF options and having a Café where you know everything is gluten free is amazing!

A coeliac’s dream sandwich counter! The service is excellent and the menu covers a range of salads, rolls, paninis, and pastas - as well as excellent breakfast choices. A complete gem and I’m so glad I found it! I liked the sit-in meal so much that I also ordered a roll to take away for later.
