Having lived in Asia, I’m really particular with Vietnamese food, and the food is amazing here super authentic. I’m not a vegan but this spot will delight everyone! The drip coffee with coconut condensed milk was ☕️👌🏽 if you want some heat try the bun hue, loved how fresh all the veg was! 🍜

All vegan Vietnamese. We had the pho, banh xeo, and the stir fried noodles with tofu and veggies. Good sized portions, everything tasted great. The banh xeo was super crispy (more than I’ve had in the past) but it’s a great texture contrast to the lettuce, tofu and veggies. Recommend.

Fabulous food and fantastic friendly welcoming service. I am half Vietnamese and the food was truly authentic. Very happy to be able to have the taste of my childhood but vegan. I recommend highly

Our waiter was so sweet, friendly, and attentive. The food was PHENOMENAL. The salted chili peppered tofu was out of this world. The crispy pancake was great. And the spicy noodle soup was very tasty and had a great level of spice! I also really enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee! Can’t recommend this place enough!

I'm beyond infuriated with the utter lack of consideration and competence displayed by your establishment. It's utterly absurd that you would accept delivery orders, only to abruptly cancel them because you suddenly decide to close. If your closing time is 22:00, then it's simply foolish to accept orders at 21:30, leaving customers waiting for over half an hour before dashing their hopes. This level of disregard for your patrons' time and trust is nothing short of outrageous. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Really good vegan food! absolutely amazing spring rolls and the "meat" was fantastic!!! Really cheap food and was really filling for what you get. However there was... no atmosphere at all when me and a friend went. We went around 4:30pm on a Saturday and it was really quiet which worked for us, but there was no music and the serving staff kept running in and out of the shop and had their jackets on the whole time and we waited a long time to get the check. I'd probably go for take out instead as I LOVED the food

We ordered two starters and two desserts. One appetizer, the fried mushrooms, was a bit spicy but you can still eat it. The menu also says oyster mushrooms but we only got mushrooms. For main courses we ordered two noodle soups. The spicy noodle soup was so very spicy that I couldn't eat it. I had to give back. Although I had asked the waiter beforehand if it was very spicy. He said the soup was just normal spicy. But it wasn't normally spicy at all. We got diarrhea afterwards because of the spiciness. In the restaurant you could only pay in cash, which I find really stupid for tourists. You can pay by card everywhere in Scotland, so I didn't bring any cash with me. I had to withdraw cash from the ATM, where I had to pay an extra €5 for the withdrawal fee. Unfortunately I can't recommend it

An absolute must for vegan food, especially banana dishes and fried coconut ice cream. Truly special, and very kind as well.

One of the best vegan Vietnamese restaurants I’ve ever been too, every dish we had was amazing so much flavour and thought gone into them. Pho was amazing, shared platter incredible, chatting to Connor about the restaurant after and hearing him speak so passionately about it- just wonderful! Was with a meat eater and they also loved it, you really don’t miss out on anything here!!! Thank you for a wonderful meal!!

This place is incredible! Everything my wife and I ordered had so much flavor. This place has plenty of vegan options and you can adjust the spice level to your liking. The owner and staff were also friendly.

The sharing starter was so delicious! And the 4 of all had different amazing mains. The service was wonderful - I couldn't decide what to eat and his suggestion was perfect for me! Would definitely go again and will definitely recommend to everyone I know who is visiting Edinburgh!

I went mid week and as a solo diner. The food was delicious, lots of options, good recommendations from the waiter. Portions are generous, food arrived hot and freshly cooked and service attentive even when the waiter could see I was near the end of my book and left me to it until I finished.

Totally top notch. New to being vegan and here you will not miss meats at all! We’ve been twice in one week… and every dish is full of flavour and really filling, a mix of veggies, nuts, tofu and I think seitan. Food was also really quick to arrive and service was friendly. £12-15 for a really big main course so very reasonable!!

I've been here twice now and it is my new favourite vegan restaurant in Edinburgh. Every dish I had was delicious and the place has a nice cosy atmosphere.

What a place amazing vegan Vietnamese food, soo yummy fresh great balance of flavours , really do recommend going here for vegan food , the crispy pancake is award winning craving it as I speak , portion size are generous, spring roll delicious, and their fried cakes are soo delicious like fish but it’s not definitely worth a try !!

Incredibly well thought out and delivered vegan Vietnamese food! Went to Sen Viet Vegan on Boxing Day for lunch and I was amazed by the quality of the food and service. I didn’t expect to find better vegan viet food than I’ve had in London and Hanoi. The filled crispy pancake dish and spicy noodle soup were highlights, and would very much recommend. One of the owners and chefs Connor was very welcoming, and the vibe was very unassuming and relaxed. I expect this place to be one of the vegan mainstays in Edinburgh, or at least I hope so! Thanks for a wonderful experience.

I've never been to such a great Vietnamese vegan restaurant. If not the indication that the food is vegan, I would never guess that everything is plant-based. Fresh, full of flavor, and lovely service. Definitely will come back again!

First time visit and very impressed. Food is delicious and portions are generous. Plenty of choice and as a non vegan I can honestly say that I didn't even notice there wasn't anything made of meat. Everything we had tasted great but I've got to say the mushroom starter was my favourite. Will definitely be back

Friendly and informal vegan dining near Edinburgh's Tollcross; great value and delicious menu options, drawing from different traditions in Vietnamese cooking. I found the style of music annoying but then I'm of an older age group 🙂 It's important to support these small independents so try it out!

Visited for dinner with two friends. Food was delicious! We had the salt & pepper mushrooms, coconut & sesame cracker, crispy spring roll, the pho, aubergine and some other side dishes. Everything was super flavourful and the portion sizes were good. Would highly recommend to vegans and also non vegans!

Awesome taste. Pho had such a good flavor punch. The server was the best as he took time to explain all the ingredients and differences in choosing other options. Really recommend this place.

I've never had vegan Vietnamese food. Two of us shared a mixed starter, a portion of violet rice and a portion of mango spring roles. All delicious.

We ate at Sen Viet for the 4th or 5th time recently. After having their delicious Pho the first two times, I've since ventured into the more uncertain realms of their menu... and I have not been dissapointed! For my main I had a mix of veg, Noodles and rice-paper-wrapped deep fried spring role type things (no idea but they were amazing!) all in a really savourvy, spicy, slightly sweet sauce. Their chef is clearly someone with authentic experience of cooking Vietnamese food and the dishes lose nothing from their ENTIRELY VEGAN ingredients. I will continue exploring the menu with confidence knowing that whatever I order will be excellent. The manager is a really sound guy and has come to know us as regulars - last visit he gave us a desert on the house (try the deep fried ice cream and/or the mango spring rolls! Omg!) One downside was the music in the place was baaaad! Reggaton reggaton and more reggaton. Some more chilled dining music definitely required!

This was our second time dinning here because the food is amazing! It's very tasty and SO filling which is not the case for every vegan restaurant. I highly recommend it. BUT, unfortunately, I can not put 5 stars because the music was absolutely terrible. No one goes to a nice Vietnamese restaurant to listen to 1h30 of annoying and loud reggaeton/Latino music (with Youtube ads). It's a restaurant not a cheap night club! Also our waiter was nonchalantly chewing gum when taking our order (basic manners?) and he was wearing a VERY strong perfume which is acceptable in a High School changing room but not in a restaurant setting (should be common sense because everyone knows taste and smell are closely linked). We'll probably just order or take away next time... (photos are from our first time here)

Highly recommend! We were a group of four and all thoroughly enjoyed our food, each having something different. It was really fresh and tasty, and although my partner and I both usually eat meat we certainly didn’t miss it! The staff were very welcoming and went the extra mile to make sure we had a great evening, we will definitely be back!

Friendly staff and great food, able to fit 9 of in at short notice on a Tuesday evening - and conveniently close to the Cloisters bar!

Food is mostly delicious, can’t believe the dairy ice cream though, vegan vanilla ice cream is available in any small coop shop. Didn’t realise I was served real ice cream until my next visit where the vegan was scribbled over and said vegetarian instead. £9 price point on sea weed salad is shocking!! It’s £4,50 tops everywhere else. Staff a bit confused, but food makes up for it. Prices are a bit over the top considering all the cons mentioned in other reviews so it’s not just me. A lot to improve on but a lot of potential if you work on it. Good luck

The music was a bit bothersome and we got some weird vibes from the waiter but the food was truly delicious and primes over the 2 small complaints.

Best food we had in our two week trip to Ireland and Scotland and we’re not even vegan! We went for lunch on our one day in Edinburgh and we were going to cancel our other dinner reservations ( made 3 months before) and go back for dinner! Amazing flavors, great service, can’t recommend highly enough

So, so happy with my meal! Often it's difficult to work out whether a menu item is vegan or at least vegetarian, but that's not a problem here! I had a meal delivered, and was thrilled to find an aubergine dish, which was delicious, and QUITE HONESTLY THE BEST SPRING ROLLS I'VE EVER EATEN (and I've eaten a LOT and been disappointed many, many times). I'm looking forward to ordering from them again very soon, but next time I'll get two orders of spring rolls, just for me! The deep-fried mushrooms were absolutely gorgeous, and the tofu on noodles was lovely too. Portions very generous; prices very reasonable.

Fantastic food and dining experience at this all vegan restaurant. The menu was so well explained and diverse that we were all really exciting order something new, with familiar ingredients. My friend had the grilled aubergine with tofu, delicious, I had the sizzling tofu and mushrooms, so flavoursome and my other friend got a crispy mixed bowl (can't remember the name) again, delicious! We were so impressed! We got to choose noodle or rice sides and we got a starter of fried tofu and the vegan sesame crackers. Everything was well presented and truly delicious. I can't wait to return! Our servers were all friendly and helpful, we had Vietnamese beers and table water and I would highly recommend checking out this restaurant. Easy to find, accessible with local transport. Don't miss Sen Viet and the wonderful flavours within!!

Pho had soymeat, wheat gluten, and fried tofu. Covered all the bases for those who are used to vegan pho that's all veg and no substance. Spring rolls were among the best I've had (and they were beautiful~).

What a treat to find a fully vegan restaurant on our first night in Edinburgh! We were delighted with the choices our server suggested. The summer rolls were fresh and delicious and the sauce had a nice balance of seasoning. They were so delicious that we forgot to snap a picture! The pho was filled with a wide assortment of perfectly cooked sugar peas, bok choy, zucchini, carrot, and tofu. There was some bean curd in the soup as well. Both the spicy and the regular broths were expertly balanced. The service was very friendly and the host took time to chat with us. Delicious!

Went to Sen Viet Vegan restaurant in Edinburgh with my two besties for a birthday lunch. We were not disappointed. Had so many delicious looking meals to choose from on the well detailed menu. Spoilt for choice. Service was welcoming, informed and friendly. Dealt well with allergen queries. The food was absolutely delicious, we were all very happy with our choices. The food was fresh, tasty and served perfectly. Prices were very affordable, the three of us shared 2 good sized starters, 3 well sized mains and 2 beers, it came to around £80 with tips. A real hidden gem of an unpretentious restaurant away from the centre of Edinburgh. Definitely going back next time I'm in Edinburgh. Highly recommend.

Mình rất thích ăn ở quán này. Là người Việt Nam ở UK và là người ăn chay, rất khó có thể tìm được một quán bán đồ ăn Việt và mang đẩy đủ hương vị đồ ăn Việt. Nếu bạn cũng giống như mình, hãy đến quán ăn này nhé. Bạn nhân viên rất dễ thương, và quán cũng rất ấm cúng. Mình gọi món Phở và đó là bát Phở chay ngon nhất mà mình đã ăn ở UK.

Take a tent on your visit so you can just camp outside on the pavement. That way you will shorten the distance for the inevitable return journey.

Had a terrible experience here. When we asked for tap water, only one glass was served between two customers. Are they trying to save water from washing up? God knows. Waiter messed up order, and served the wrong appetiser which had to be sent back. This is fair enough, but he then brought over food that was for another table, I’m afraid that’s a bit too many mistakes happening in an near empty restaurant, mister. I ordered the spicy soup noodles, which had an adjustable spice level. I went with the normal spice level as I am usually ok with spicy food. When the noodles were finally served, waiter jokingly said “extra extra hot noodles”. At the time I did find it funny. However, things quickly turned sour (or spicy rather). I find it difficult to believe that a normal spice level has the ability to overwhelm the inherent flavour of the noodles and to cause so much pain in my oral cavity. Now I’m not so sure whether the comment from the waiter is a joke or not. Either way, won’t be coming back here. Not for mediocre white-washed Vietnamese food overcompensating with their “extra extra spice” level.

Just been to a fringe show at the meadows and we were looking for some food afterwards. Saw Sen Viet and decided to give them a go. Ideal too as my friend is vegan. Welcoming atmosphere from Connor and he was lovely, funny and attentive throughout our visit. Me and my friend opted for the house platter to share and it was delicious ( no photos but we cleared the plate) . First time visit but definitely not our last...and hopefully next time I'll be able to squeeze in dessert.

Authentic, delicious and filling. We went here on the recommendation of a local and so already had high expectations. We shared the starter platter, the aubergine with rice and the presidential bun cha with noodles all of which were excellent. My only regret was that we didn’t find this place sooner in our visit to Edinburgh. This place will definitely be on the list next time we visit.
