Had a delicious meal with authentic flavours! The aubergine dish was amazing, and I would highly recommend the mango spring rolls for dessert. The food was far beyond our expectations! The owner was kind and personable and lovely to chat to.

The palate of flavours in each dish is nothing less than amazing. 5 stars from me 😀

Just a wonderful menu. Everything sounded delicious. I had the sizzling mushrooms with purple rice. But I need to go back again and again and again to try everything. Conor was so welcoming and friendly. Highly recommend this gem of a place.

Very good dishes, unfortunately very bad advice on spices: don't say that all dishes are normally spicy (in any case, for fragile European palates, you need better advice), you almost have to say that you are allergic to spices, in short, the white rice is very good but that's all I could eat

A dire experience at Lunch. We were the only people in the Restaurant at 12.45. The ‘waiter’ was certainly not experienced in the job and is absolutely no asset to the business and I would say he is detrimental to it. Food was very tasty - but when there is no ambience, no welcome, no offer of drinks, no apparent interest in the waiting job - would we go back? No. The portions were fairly small. Certainly very unlike some of the reviews mentioned. Oh - and cash only. Hmm. I wonder why…

Super nice food, there wouldn’t be a nicer broth to enjoy in these damp cold days; we had a big group booked in at very short notice, very helpful staff and quickly served; thanks Connor and all staff that evening

Our first time at Sen Viet tonight. It certainly lived up to the glowing reviews we had read. The food, service and warmth of the owner were outstanding. This restaurant is a must.

My friends and I came here for dinner and really enjoyed the food. The fried ice cream was especially delicious for dessert.

Sen Viet is a must visit for anyone based in Edinburgh or travelling through! The menu was fantastic, there was a great range of options to choose from and everything we ordered exceeded our expectations. The food was incredibly fresh, flavourful, and presented beautifully. The staff were very attentive and friendly, their recommendations were spot on. The atmosphere was cosy and relaxed, making it a great spot for a meal with friends or loved ones.

Served DAIRY at an allegedly "fully vegan restaurant" is wild, dangerous and appalling, and will be reported further. This place is NOT fully vegan, which came as a surprise when asking the waiter if the mango coconut smoothie is vegan. The situation: I'm severely dairy intolerant (I get horrible, continuous gastrointestinal symptoms for at least a week after consuming anything with cows milk in it) and saw that in the menu section where the drink is, it has a "vegan" label, so thought nothing of it and ordered it. After a few sips, I decided to ask the waiter who said that it can be either vegetarian or vegan, but it is vegan by default. His English wasn't good, so communication was difficult and I don't think he understood the severity of it and not being able to confirm whether I just got served dairy! Additionally, we also didn't get all of our order - violet rice never arrived, yet it was on the bill, so had to be sorted out too. Food was lovely, but the stress of just consuming dairy in the drink and getting a reaction later, which I'm currently dealing with, was not worth it. Terrible service and extremely misleading place as a whole.

Highly recommended! The food tastes great, and the people who work here are very friendly. If you live in Edinburgh it is definitely worth a visit :) The atmosphere is also cozy and the food is neatly prepared. My tip is a sharing plate😋 Please note that you can only pay with cash, but you have an ATM in the street so that is no problem.

The food was DELICIOUS!!! Me and my friend had 2 starters and 2 main dishes, all of them were tasty and spicy enough to a tolerable level that I could enjoy. Ah, and the coriander wasn't strong either (I don't like coriander). Totally recommended ✨👌🏻

This place was so great. It felt super relaxed and casual, easy to pop in for a comforting meal as a lone diner. Quite basic interior but welcoming and comfortable. The food was nice! The food was authentic and delicious, I’d definitely recommend. So wonderful to have a fully vegan Vietnamese!

My favourite Asian restaurant in the entire of Scotland to be honest! This isn’t my first visit and I feel like an arse for not sharing this place earlier because I wanted it all to myself and my pals lol 😅🙃 Not only is it vegan and has all my favourite ingredients (okay that’s a bias but) every single dish I’ve tasted has been spot on delicious, with fresh, amazing produce, and authentic (which I have missed as I used to visit Vietnam). Being vegan, creating a select and concise menu was crucial out of Viet cuisine, especially if much of it isn’t traditionally vegan, and I think a sign of a successful restaurant is knowing the perfect ones to pick while pushing boundaries to appeal to vegans (eg. No-fish cakes). The ambiance is comfortable, beautifully decorated and is a great place to catch up with friends over yummy food. The lady who served us yesterday was so friendly and was kind enough to reassure us not to rush (me being aware of their noon closing times). I really enjoyed our banter too, which made the experience all the more enjoyable. The portions are perfect and reasonably priced especially considering the quality. If you’re a foodie, this is a must visit; and if you’re vegan, this is possibly one of the most versatile and tastiest places for Asian food, and a chance to taste a spot on vegan (no-fish)cake. 🤤🤤🤤 ps. The coffee 😍 P.ps. Viet food is traditionally one of the spiciest in the continent (compared to Thai, Cambodian, Indian - I think there’s more fresh/raw chillis involved) so I expected a little more heat in general

Was there for the first time yesterday and both me and my partner were blown away by Sen Viet Vegan. The restaurant is smaller than it looks but still has plenty of spaces. The service staff was lovely and very welcoming. And the food was absolutely beautiful. Especially the Ha Long fried cakes were brilliant. Would 100% recommend it to anyone but especially vegan as everything is vegan on the menu so you don't have to worry about the ingredients other than for allergen reasons.

We had a delicious lunch at Sen Viet yesterday! I always love finding good vegan options in large cities- especially when you have more than one thing on the menu to choose from! The Vietnamese iced coffees were AMAZINGly sweet and creamy. We started with the veggie spring rolls which were delicious, and then we ate the Coconut Curry w/ tofu and the vegetable stir fry with flat rice noodles and tofu. Both of which were very delicious, flavorful, and rich! The service was very attentive and kind, and the prices were reasonable as well. We sat at a lovely table by the window, which was great for people watching. Overall we had a fantastic experience and would recommend it to anyone in the area!

Beautiful food and fantastic and very fast service. Really enjoyed our meal one of the best Asian vegan meals I've had in a long time. The service was very very quick and polite yet not rushed. Only criticism is that it's cash only when we visited.

The food was great and they let us in even thought they were closed after lunch. The waiter was polite and accommodating. Definitely recommend this restaurant. Can’t comment on the atmosphere as we were the only ones in the restaurant.

We went on 5/11 and ordered two meals we'd never tried before, the Ha noi caramel and banana and the caramel and kohlrabi. We also had the salt chill pepper mushrooms, sesame coconut crackers and salad, along with fried ice cream and mango spring rolls. Everything was out quick, was hot, fresh and full of flavour. Really impressed with everything, the restaurant was lovely and the two staff were great, friendly and attentive. Loved it.

Great food. We wanted a spicy exotic soup and we were abundantly satisfied at an adequate price.

Fantastic food, love this spot enough to make it a chill night out for our wedding anniversary. The flavours and ingredients always have me intrigued, lot of lovely stuff I have never eaten before and I am a pretty adventurous diner! My favourite is the banana stir fry and vegan fish cakes!

We loved this place. It was a good discovery in Edimburg for vegans. We want it to go for a second time on Friday 27 but it wasn't open at 12pm as they said. We recommend pankakes and fried ice cream (AMAZING)

Amazing food and service, delighted to have another "vegan only" restaurant, saves asking the wait staff about everything on the menu and them running backwards and forwards to the kitchen. I had the pho and my partner had the yellow curry...both excellent. Beware the chilli oil though !!!

Having lived in Vietnam for a number of years and recently trying to become vegan I was very curious to try Sen Viet. It did not disappoint. It had the familiarity of great Vietnamese dishes without compromising on taste. Some great takes on Vietnamese classics along with great version of classic vegetarian staple dishes. The tofu with tomato sauce dau pu sot ca chua is particularly amazing and one I have not been able to find so good elsewhere. A real treat for vegans or general lovers of vietnamese cuisine. The food was good and authentic. We ate the baked eggplant and yellow curry. Highly recommended. However, the service was very slow. For example, we had to wait 45 minutes for our drinks - despite repeated requests! This continued until we paid the bill, which we finally settled at the bar.

Excellent restaurant. Everything we tried was wonderful. Their credit card reader was out of service, so we had to go get cash from a near by ATM. But it was worth that little extra effort. The food was delicious and healthy. I wish there were more such places where I live.

Absolutely delicious! I had crispy tofu rolls, came with a gorgeous peanut dip (possibly with wasabi mixed in) Pink Prwn Crackers, Lemongrass and Chilli tofu with noodles and a Vietnamese coffee. Utter taste sensation!

Staff were nice enough, but honestly very underwhelming. There's almost no atmosphere and food took over 45 minutes to cook, so had to get it bagged to take away. Pretty average food given the very high prices. Won't be back

I travelled alone to Edinburgh and was looking for a nice place for dinner on a bustling Saturday evening. After being turned away by several restaurants (as they wanted to save their space for larger groups of customers), my final attempt was at Sen Viet Vegan, where I received a warm welcome. Opting for the Bun Hue—a spicy noodle soup—I was thoroughly impressed by its rich and savoury broth. Beyond the exceptional cuisine, the owner, Mr. Hien, and the staff were notably friendly and attentive. This establishment has earned my wholehearted recommendation to friends, and it is on my must-visit list for my next trip to Edinburgh.

All vegan Vietnamese. We had the pho, banh xeo, and the stir fried noodles with tofu and veggies. Good sized portions, everything tasted great. The banh xeo was super crispy (more than I’ve had in the past) but it’s a great texture contrast to the lettuce, tofu and veggies. Recommend.

Our waiter was so sweet, friendly, and attentive. The food was PHENOMENAL. The salted chili peppered tofu was out of this world. The crispy pancake was great. And the spicy noodle soup was very tasty and had a great level of spice! I also really enjoyed the Vietnamese coffee! Can’t recommend this place enough!

I'm beyond infuriated with the utter lack of consideration and competence displayed by your establishment. It's utterly absurd that you would accept delivery orders, only to abruptly cancel them because you suddenly decide to close. If your closing time is 22:00, then it's simply foolish to accept orders at 21:30, leaving customers waiting for over half an hour before dashing their hopes. This level of disregard for your patrons' time and trust is nothing short of outrageous. I'll be taking my business elsewhere.

Really good vegan food! absolutely amazing spring rolls and the "meat" was fantastic!!! Really cheap food and was really filling for what you get. However there was... no atmosphere at all when me and a friend went. We went around 4:30pm on a Saturday and it was really quiet which worked for us, but there was no music and the serving staff kept running in and out of the shop and had their jackets on the whole time and we waited a long time to get the check. I'd probably go for take out instead as I LOVED the food

We ordered two starters and two desserts. One appetizer, the fried mushrooms, was a bit spicy but you can still eat it. The menu also says oyster mushrooms but we only got mushrooms. For main courses we ordered two noodle soups. The spicy noodle soup was so very spicy that I couldn't eat it. I had to give back. Although I had asked the waiter beforehand if it was very spicy. He said the soup was just normal spicy. But it wasn't normally spicy at all. We got diarrhea afterwards because of the spiciness. In the restaurant you could only pay in cash, which I find really stupid for tourists. You can pay by card everywhere in Scotland, so I didn't bring any cash with me. I had to withdraw cash from the ATM, where I had to pay an extra €5 for the withdrawal fee. Unfortunately I can't recommend it
