My daughter and I were visiting the city, and we were intrigued by the cafés cozy look. The food was delicious, the service was great. The staff were unbelievably kind, and we were given great advice about our stay.

Good food, excellent host, casual atmosphere, clean restaurant, reasonably priced. Small little neighbood restaurant where everybody knows everyone. Warm sense of community. The restaurant serves a wide variety of Scottish comfort foods. The food was served hot and with good presentation. The taste, quality and portion size were good. The host was super nice as were the patrons. They do not appear to have a public restroom. Overall, a unique dining experience. -- Tourist from the U.S.A.

When we ordered takeaway breakfast this morning we got kindly greeted. The food options were in abundance. Good quality and not to expensive. I would definitely recommend getting a breakfast or coffee here. There is also tables to sit in. Food is freshly prepared and the employees also take a look out for allergies.

Best breakfast of our entire holiday in Scotland. The staff is super nice and the food tastes very tasty! The price-performance ratio is unbeatable.

Best latte I’ve had in Edinburgh. I came all this way, several weeks later to post a review because I’m still thinking about that latte. Chef’s kiss. Perfect for before or after a wee stroll through Corstorphine Hill.

Grabbed a coffee while friend had a custom made salad from the options in chilled display cabinet. I was impressed with the menu. Clear black text on large white background, easy to make sense of. Coffee was good. The staff and regulars were very friendly also. Not my usual side of town but if I'm passing I'll be sure to stop in again for food if timing suits.

Great service and amazing food and coffee. Came here for breakfast takeaway this morning and had to come back for lunch in the afternoon. Lovely cafe!! Prices were amazing for the quality of the food. I’ll be back on my way out of Edinburgh!

Charged 5.50 one day for a jacket potatoe next day 8.50 everyday price paid changed how is this possible me and my work team won't be back

A super great little bistro, with a very tasty breakfast. The coffee tastes sensational and the dishes are freshly prepared. Great service. It's a shame it's closed on the weekend.

Absolutely cracking breakfast! Had the Full Breakfast. Beautiful presentation which isn't an easy thing to achieve with a full English/Scottish. Beans are served in a separate dish, so no soggy bits. Square sausage, potato cake, haggis, 2 eggs, tomato, lovely toast made with fresh bread, normal sausage , 2 slices of quality bacon and a slice of black pudding. Decorated with a sprig of Rosemary. Well thought out, well cooked and excellent service! 15/10

An absolute gem in Edinburgh. This local caf has incredible service, delicious food and great vibes. I highly recommend stopping by for breakfast or just grab a pastry on your way. It's super affordable but you get looked after so well.

I was visiting Edinburgh from Canada and found this on my way to city centre from holiday inn. Place is neat and clean, service was fast, tried wrap and soup, both were awesome with very genuine price. Lovely couple with compassion towards their guests. Highly recommended, now it's my go to restaurant while in Edinburgh.

Lovely little cafe near the Murrayfield stadium. We visited three days in a row. Delicious breakfast food and amazing soup. Prices are great (full breakfast for £6!), with hearty portion sizes. Staff are extremely friendly too! The cafe was busy each day, but the kitchen staff and front of house never let the pressure affect their professionalism.

Had breakfast here on my vacation in scotland. Amazing place. Great delicious food for cheap. Very friendly personnel that loves to have fun. Definently recommend trying this place when your in the area!

Genuinely the worst coffee I’ve had in a long time. I ordered a flat white for myself and an oat milk latte for my wife, for the flat white the person serving poured a full double espresso, before pulling through ANOTHER double shot of water through the same coffee in the group head, then topped with lukewarm foam….none of which constitutes a flat white. They then used the steam wand on the oat milk without wiping off the dairy milk first, and steamed it to within an inch of its life, resulting in burned milk. Aside from all that, the coffee itself was bitter and overextracted. 2 stars because the service was friendly, but I’d avoid the coffee.

Great place for a scran, went here every day for breakfast and lunch as the food was tremendous along with the banter. Top place and fully recommended folks.

Went here for breakfast yesterday. It is excellent quality and a complete bargain. Delicious full cooked breakfast only £6!? Highly recomended.

We ordered lasagna, garlic bread and salad from Cocoa Bean to take with us when we went to a lodge in Gleneagles to celebrate my sons 30th birthday. There was 11 of us so it was perfect and so easy just to heat up. The food was absolutely delicious and there was even extra for lunch the next day. I would definitely recommend them. My daughter in law has also booked them for my grandaughters birthday party.

This is a very busy, well run. small, personablel cafe. Menu for everyone, for me a simple scrambled egg on toast with mushrooms was a meal. So many more choices available and other traditional food options. Feels like it is owner run, with energy passion and service. Top choice for us for a quick comfortable lunch. Price is not a question, this has to be the best value ever. Great food, great service

This is a great little cafe. Staff are always friendly and the food is brilliant. I’ve had a lot of baked potatoes in Edinburgh and this place serves the best with great fillings. Brilliant little place in the Murrayfield area.

My local top notch cafe for 9 years. Consistently friendly and prompt service, great variety of healthy snacks and super reasonable prices. Best cooked breakfast in Edinburgh, with personal touches that go that extra mile. Their banter is cheery too. They always have a ready smile, a kind word and a wonderful variety. I highly recommend Cocoa Bean Cafe.

Fantastic little cafe that we found just after we arrived in Edinburgh for our holiday. Food was good quality and very cheap - I wouldn't have minded paying double tbh - £4 for a big portion of lasagne!! Great banter from the staff. Just a shame that they're not open at weekeneds so we won't get another chance to visit before we go home!

I live nearby and always nip in on my way to work. I get a bacon and egg roll every time, which is sooo good, and it always makes my day going in because the staff are so nice to talk to. Just a really warm, welcoming environment I always look forward to visiting :)

Lovely wee independent cafe with great variety of breakfast items, cake etc, good value. It's a small space so if you're needing rigorous social distancing, this may not be your best choice. You can probably get in with a wheelchair, as it's on street level, but the entrance to the toilet looked quite narrow, so I'm not sure it's accessible so give them a ring to check out out.

Delicious! I popped in yesterday for a takeaway lunch and came away with THE most delicious vegan burger and salad box ever! Well worth a visit! So glad this gem is round the corner from my office. 🙂

Loved this little cafe. Fantastic menu and food for a little hidden gem and extremely competitive price. I visited with my daughter on Tuesday and they spotted her opening birthday cards and brought a brownie (home made, amaaaaazing 😊👍) for free. Nice touch. Soup and salad just delicious. Will def be back
