The best restaurants serving British food in Central Scotland

Needed to kill an hour in Aberfoyle and what better way then a mid morning coffee and sausage roll. I needed a dog friendly and Internet provided cafe, the former seeming in short supply in this town. Station Cafe fitted the bill and , although only some seats are 'dog friendly', I can see why: others would have the pooch impeding servers. You can order via the QR code, but would have been helpful to add the server is the BT Net site, not 'Station Cafe.' Obviously the lorne sausage is home made and exactly fits the bap - nicely done in a toasted bun. Coffee not so good: I asked for a large two-shot, but I think it's a one size fits all and the small cup contained weak and quite bitter coffee.

Excellent hotel lovely period features. Everything worked. Helpful and friendly people Nice feel about the place Great family venue.

We stopped here on the way to the Japanese Garden nearby and were so warmly greeted. The cafe is spotless and bright and the menu is varied. Our coffee and scones were delicious and the staff were a delight. We’d absolutely recommend this gem if you’re ever in the area.

Chambre superbe. Cependant mauvaise isolation des chambres donc quand on tombe sur des fêtards 🥴. Fish and chips excellent surtout la purée de petits pois. Accueil chaleureux. J’ai adoré cette convivialité.

Lovely tea room very good service by the couple running it My wife says it's the best cheese scone she has ever tasted My clootie dumpling was delicious The tea comes with a 3 way timer for weak medium strong levels of tea Would highly recommend

Had lovely breakfast rolls for myself and my husband . A nice big pot of tea to share . Tasty food and not greasy at all .. would highly recommend a visit . All freshly cooked as well !!!

One of the best places in Oban for delicious, fresh, home cooked food. Kerry front of house, gave us warm friendly welcome. My husband ordered the steak pie, I went for the chicken burger, when the food came out, I wished I had went for the steak pie. Loads of fresh veg, good helpings. We went back the next day for the steak pie, Wow, it was like going back home, good quality meat, lovely thick gravy. Highland Sundae was a perfect way to finish. Keep up the good work

Absolutely brilliant weekend. Family time with sister brother in law, brother sister in law and sister’s sister in law and husband. Well that’s a bit of a tongue twister. We had a fabulous weekend together. Weather wasn’t great but the service and meals made up for it. Food was of the highest standard. Good quality and healthy home made recipe’s with plenty of it made our visit all the more special. Staff were very friendly and couldn’t do enough to make our stay enjoyable. Very clean with an emphasis on Covid 19 safety precautions. Every member of our group agreed that they would certainly go back for another visit, so we have booked rooms for the same time next year. We went here for an impromptu lunch today. We both had fish and chips. I'm not a chip fan so asked for a jacket potato with butter and this was not a problem. The battered fish was the best we've tasted in recent times. Beautiful and sparkling fresh with gorgeous big flakes. The owner told us it had only been delivered at 12 noon and it showed. The jacket potato was delicious and so were the chips The tartare sauce was great and so were the mushy peas. Completely flawless. For 2 generous portions and 2 diet cokes it cost £26 and it was worth every penny. We'll be back

We only had coffee but it was really well made and not too expensive. There was a small range of fresh cakes. The rest of the menu looked good. The café is next to the marina so very convenient for that, but it is worth stopping of you are driving past. At the time of our visit the café was open Weds-Sun only, which may be a business necessity, but it is unlikely to help the business grow.

Super fresh and beautifully cooked meal with great personal service. Took the dog in too , smashing place with super atmosphere

Love this wee cafe. Coffee is lovely and cakes are just fabulous. Lunch is good too. Well worth a visit. Prices are very reasonable.

A fantastic brunch today. I had been given an itison voucher for my birthday for 2 brunch dishes and either 2 hot drinks or non alcoholic wine. We opted for an Americano and a tea, fantastic big cups, and an apple juice for my son. Ordered the Gourie Goucho and the travelling Scotsman for eating and my son insisted on Mac cheese which the kitchen were very accommodating with, even at 10am! All food was delicious and you can tell the quality in the ingredients as well as the banter. A fantastic place, where you you wait for quality fresh food. Brilliant, quirky spot.

Excellent lounge bar which apart from having some unusual beers/Cider also offers an excellent food menu. The food is really good, and both the Steak pie and haddock are highly recommended.
