We had a light evening meal in this pub. My partner particularly enjoyed his steak pie, very reasonably priced at 13 pounds. The food on other tables ( burgers, wraps) seemed equally appetizing. Friendly and fast service, nice location on the waterfront. Definitely recommend. Bon pub a des prix raisonnables. Vue sur la baie d oban. La steak pie était particulièrement. Une bonne option pour un dîner rapide et pas cher.

Food amazing and good menu choices, great views and lovely staff. The cheesecake was simply the best I've ever had. Good value too.

Arrived at 10.38am with my wife’s elderly parents (in their 80’s). It was pouring with rain and had hoped to get a breakfast. Were told that breakfast stopped at 10.30 and there was a sign outside stating this. Couldn’t see anything for the rain! Staff were unhelpful and wouldn’t even serve us a coffee, telling us to go next door. Scottish hospitality at its best! Very disappointing and if I ever go back to Oban will be avoiding this restaurant like the plague.

The service was friendly and relaxed. Food was homemade and absolutely delicious. Highly recommend this eating establishment. To top it view there are outstanding views!🙂

Restaurant quiet for breakfast we sat at one of many free tables for breakfast. Instead of being greeted the waiter insisted on us getting up from our table and go to him at the bar and wait to be seated. A couple beside us us throw their eyes up to heaven and said he was same with us! Then we tried to order. I asked for avocado toast & cappuccino, my friend asked for a few slices of toast & tea. He said that will be a double portion. My advocacy toast was soggy. Luckily I could use some of my friend’s toast for the avocado. We waited for our cappuccinos and coffee. But when it didn’t arrive 3/4 way through our breakfast we asked for them , only to be told it’s self service and they don’t serve cappuccino!! We loved our trip to Scotland and found all the hospitality staff we encountered very friendly & good except this restaurant. It is a shame as the view from the bar/ bistro is lovely. Maybe the evening restaurant staff are more welcoming. I hope so

Price is great, food is good honest breakfast plus things like Avocado on toast. All the food was nicely presented . Very friendly. And a fantastic view across the bay. Recommend for a tasty , good quality but cheap breakfast.

Sehr gemütliches Restaurant, das für uns einmal mit einem feinen Frühstück, ein weiteres Mal mit einem sehr guten Abendessen aufwartete. Den schönen Blick auf die Bucht von Oban gibts gratis mit dazu.

Lovely food! And good service, took my one year old in and they were very helpful. The food was great we have loaded fries and two ranch burgers, was great watching the boats coming in and out also.

Service bof bof, frites pas maison à priori, Burger pas top. La quiche était correcte. Les crevettes étaient également moyennes. Ouf, la vue était sympa.

We checked the place out mid afternoon and as it was dog friendly booked for dinner. Langoustine salad was excellent, and the King prawn salad did not let down, the staff were very attentive and service was spot on. The first night was so good we booked for the following night, on this occasion I had the steak and ale pie first class, and we also had the chicken wrap which was spot on. On both nights the restaurant was operated by a single person, a female the first night and then a young gent the second night. Both kept the premises moving and were worth their weight in gold. The price is very good as well. If back in the area will most definitely use this premises again.

Excellent spot, really hard working team, polite and attentive. The mussels were delicious and the chowder was filling and tasty. Will definitely call again next time we are in Oban

We had steak pie and it’s the only place that we have been to that there was so much steak in the pie. The meal was absolutely lovely and cheap, the service was also very quick and friendly would definitely recommend

Just great food I would definitely come again everything was perfect. The workers were polite, and the food tasty first time in scotland but definitely not last thanks to coaters.

Read reviews on here, so thought e would try this place out. Beautiful location, service and food. All cooked fresh to order and arrived hot without too long a wait. Couldn’t fault the place.

I had King Prawn salad starter then steak pie with mash for my main dish. The food was delicious, piping hot and generous portions. Good service and drink came in a nice glass too.

All really enjoyed lunch today, food so tasty and clearly home made, local ingredients, balanced menu, great specials, reasonably priced , great service and lovely views , what’s not to love. Will definitely be back x

A weekend break in Oban isn't complete without dinner in Coasters! A small, well run restaurant on the front with lovely views over the bay. Always an interesting menu, standard staples and a 'specials' board. I thoroughly recommend trying their specials, usually delicious, ingredients locally sourced and great service too! Also, good value for money, very competitive pricing. Will definitely be back on my next visit.

Window seat for the sunset. food outstanding, reasonable price. Good portions and lovely staff. Can’t wait to return.

Visited here with my Grandma when we stopped off in the town. Was an amazing find as we got a great view of the dock/harbour/beach and all the gorgeous Mountain View’s which is just what you need to occupy you whilst waiting for your food - the food came in due time. Service was friendly and fairly quick, allowing us to browse, discuss & pick (as women often do), I was pleasantly surprised by the younger lads as they was very attentive - they had the normal chats with each other but consistently ensured to check if tables needed anything more than they had. Menu was great…from what I recall I had the butchers burger and after a long day of views and a coach trip it hit the spot perfectly. Everything was cooked beautifully and I could tell the ingredients were fresh so would expect the kitchen to be well looked after, they took care in presentation and had a great selection of drinks. Decor was interesting, I enjoyed the panelling and detailed ceilings. They also have a large seating area with access for prams or disabled persons. All round great visit, I would recommend and if I ever visit the town again I will ensure to return 🫶🏼

This is a great place for traditional excellent quality food and good price. Definitely book as it gets very busy

We were in Oban for three days and had lunch here twice it was so good and friendly. My wife particularly liked the fish chowder and I liked the steak pie. The server was Charlie and she did an outstanding job both days while working a fairly busy dining room by herself. She was helpful and friendly.

Asked for a coffee and was told to pour myself in the corner, then came to the ordering of food which my wife asked for a hard yolk egg (not exactly a big ask) which we were told it just comes as it comes. Very rude and won’t be back. They just want your money and ship you out door

I have been coming to Oban for years to visit family and always gone to this bar as it has great views and a great atmosphere. On visiting this year for a drink we were told that you can only sit at the bar as all tables are reserved for diners, of which there was only one and the amount of customers who left when being told they couldn’t sit at a table. Sorry Coasters but we won’t be returning.

For our first time visited Oban. We booked the table for our 27th anniversary and we had a hearing dog for the deaf (Tess)with us. Tall man came and sitting beside us and he want touch Tess and he realised that we both are deaf and he texted us back and forth communication. Then he gave us bottle of champagne for our anniversary!! We were speechless!! What a lovely man We didn’t ask his name. Hope the staff passed our message to thank him for our lovely champagne.Meals was lovely and lovely staff Forgot photo our main courses but one pudding was nice.

we were just passing the coaster after our daily walk and noticed they were open after being told they were closed. asked if we could book an evening meal which was fine. thought the staff were very good re covid situation masks on before sitting down. ordered the steak and ale pie for the both of us. very nice lean meat fresh veg reasonable prices

We were looking for a fairly casual dinner on our recent visit to Oban and found Coasters. I’ll be honest - I was a wee bit dubious at first as thought it looked more pub than eatery. But I absolutely needn’t have been. Inside you’ll find well spaced tables, some music, a bit of telly and lovely food. I had a pulled brisket burger and a cocktail, finishing off with a good malt whisky. Absolutely outstanding service - very busy staff but nothing was too much trouble.

Booked a table and we we were given a table next to the toilet door, the noise was appalling every time someone used the hand dryers etc. Smell wasn’t to pleasant either. I asked for an alternative table and was greeted by a shrug of shoulders by the manageress so we left. They couldn’t have cared less

We’ve been here twice this week and the food was great. Staff very nice. However they lose a point for my 4 glasses of white wine being warm

These guys were so kind and friendly! Popped in for a pint or 2 and a few pack of crisps. The Landlady and bar staff we so incredibly nice and helpful! Had a lovely pint & the pickled onion crisps were a hit! (need to have them in England) Thanks ladies! ❤️ Oh and the view was lush! ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

Staff very friendly, drink prices very reasonable, cocktails amazing, food absolutely beautiful fresh and tasty. If you get a seat outside in the evening don’t move from it the sunsets are outstanding

Really impressed with this wee gem of a pub. We stumbled across it last night and have already been back for lunch. The food is outstanding, far better than some of the ‘posher’ places which appear to be highly recommended in Oban. We visited a ‘top’ restaurant this evening and wished we’d just went back to Coasters. Staff are excellent. Literally could not do enough to make us feel welcome and are so friendly and happy. They clearly enjoy their jobs and recognised us from being in the night before. I believe one of the lovely barmaids is called Sarah and she is an outstanding asset to the place. So helpful and kind, taking a genuine interest in her customers. Would come back to Oban for Coasters alone. The chips are amazing. We will be back!

Visited Coaster with family and friends, the place is spotlessly clean, convenient table service and amazing food, we would recco.end the pulled pork which melted in my mouth.and the fresh caugh local mussles which were very tasty served in a lovely sauce. The staff were great nothing was too much trouble and the service was not rushed. The tables are seperated by clear plastic screens and dissinfected between customers. 10/10 for qaulity and cleaness will deffo ve back for another visit.

Absolutely fantastic food and impeccable service. Portion sizes are spot on 2 courses left no room for pudding, warm welcoming friendly staff, went as a group of 6 all meals cooked to perfection, no complaints at all.Will definitely recommend and come back again next time in Oban.

Out with a party of 6. On a lovely Saturday afternoon we managed to book a table easily for the evening. Staff are very busy but extremely friendly, attentive & professional. The food was totally amazing! Cooked to perfection & presented well. We love Oban generally, but will definitely be back here to eat. Totally worth a 5 star review!

The pub is well set up in meeting the required COVID restrictions, tables were well screened and the staff were friendly and efficient.I chose the ‘pulled pork’ dish, one of the worst meals I have ever seen! It was a mass of orange gloop, slapped on a bun, no recognisable features pertaining to pork, pulled or otherwise and should be pulled from the menu immediately!

Ate in Coasters while stopping over in Oban for the night. Staff were very pleasant and attentive. Home cooked steak pie was great and very filling. The prices of the food was definitely great value for money and tasted amazing. The view was excellent right over the islands and boats. Ate during the time where there was no alcohol with food, therefore can only advise the price of the soft drinks was also very reasonable. Would certainly recommend this place and will visit again when in Oban.

Visited Coasters, recieved a warm and friendly welcome, advised us of the one way system due to covid 19, good service, no loud music or TV could have family conversation without shouting and enjoyed my dinner. Nice view from seat at the window.

We enjoy the saturday and sunday to watch rugby. There is a lot of screen everywhere. Nice atmospher and beers.nice view on the bay and sunset

Right on the waterfront and you can't miss its blue walls! Saturday afternoon was lively so the small bar wasn't great for getting service but you could see the barmaids were trying their best. Loud music made conversation difficult but it wasn't off putting. There's nicer pubs in oban but I would still pop by Coasters if in town again

Visiting family of four, enjoyed two shared platters. Staff were typical bar staff. Food and drink was average. No real issues. Worth a visit for no fuss food and bar drinks.

Came here to watch Celtic today, barmaids were vile ignorant, soon as final wistle went, they turned music up full blast, couldnt hear after match comments, won't be back, never a celtic pub!!!!

Estuve en posavasos previamente por bebidas hace unos años.Regresé el 03 / 02/19 para ver un partido de fútbol y me fue bien dejarme usar una camiseta de fútbol. Tenía una buena pinta de Tennent.Buena comida tambiénTuve el pollo al curry que mi compañero tenía pollo Enchilada.Las porciones eran grandes en ambas comidas y no me decepcionó, sin duda volvería en la próxima visita

We ate here on a visit to Oban in 2014 and it was excellent so we decided to eat here again this week. We couldn't have been more disappointed. Although the beer was good, the food was terrible. The burger was grey in colour and very dry - it was supposed to be a 6 oz Aberdeen Angus burger "locally sourced" (what, from Farm Foods round the corner?!). Husband couldn't finish it. The beer batter on the haddock was more like solidified breadcrumbs, very hard, instead of being light and crisp. People at a nearby table asked us what the food was like as they were thinking of eating there, so we had to be honest and tell them the truth - one of the worst meals we'd ever had. Always be wary of a place that asks to be paid before you get the food! I don't like to dish out a bad review, but if you're going to dish up bad food what can you expect? Stick to being a pub, forget the food.

One of the best things about this place is the views out over the bay through huge windows at he front.

Visited here as it was on our dog friendly list, and was recommended by one of the shop keepers. Great pub, very good friendly service, and excellent food. Very welcoming to our little dog, and will certainly be one we will return to.

we had a pleasant lunch at Coasters. reasonable selection at a reasonable pub price. Service was a bit slow and waitress seemed more interested in chatting to friends than serving. She forgot to bring a pot of tea with the food and when asked again for the tea she finished her conversation and then disappeared! Result was no tea again! Also, a dog appeared and moved around and under our table mooching for food - not nice. Tho food was reasonable we would not return cos of service and dog.

Dropped in here for lunch. Service was prompt and helpful. The menu is pretty standard pub food but fresh, nicely presented and resonably priced. There are numerous TVs ( sound off) to watch Wimbledon, between gazing out over the harbour. A neat spot

We stopped at Coasters for lunch. My husband got a burger that was so large, he didn't think he could finish it. He did eat it all because he said it was too good not to. I had mac and cheese and enjoyed it. We had a couple of cold beers as well. The service was quick and friendly.

As tourists in Oban, not every place feels like its meant for outsiders. I understand that and don't blame them. Coasters being on the main drag however served a more diverse group of people. Its on a great location right across the street from the harbor. The interior is simple but classy with a little bar and plenty of seating. A large pool table as well.

Dropped in for a beer. Not impressed by selection on tap so opted for bottles. Nice enough bar but strange feature was plastic covers on many of the chairs. Best feature is the view from the large windows out over the bay.

My partner and I popped in here during a weekend trip to Oban. Only went in for a drink. Place is small but friendly staff. Was quite busy with locals too. View of the sea from our seats at the window was a plus.

We are frequent visitors to Oban and used to recommend Coasters, but the food's gone downhill in the past year. Back in the summer ( least rainy season ) the pasta dish was stodgy and tasteless. Last Sunday was awful as all the menu consisted...

Pub looks right out over the bay. Friendly atmosphere. Food of your choice whether you just want potato wedges or Steak Pie all ample servings. You can watch the football in peace. If that is your thing. Or just sit and have a drink.

Visited here today with my family and 3 dogs. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The food was lovely, portions were huge and it was reasonably priced. It's great to find somewhere that welcomes dogs as well as their owners. Staff brought out a dish if water for our dogs. Would defo recommend and be visiting again when we are in the area

Very good seafood entrees, good service, nice atmosphere, central location, reasonably priced meals and choices. Can't go wrong here.

We set off for an evening meal at Coasters because we had not tried it before and it was in a prime location with views over the bay and ferry terminal (provided a truck did not park in front of the window). It was a hot evening, and as we approached down a side street running alongside Coasters, we noticed that a door had been left wide open. It was the kitchen door. We looked inside and quickly decided to eat somewhere else.

Food good and drinks reasonable. Gets a bit noisy in the evening or when sports on TVs but good atmosphere.

We were happy to find a quick spot for lunch that could accommodate our group. Some dishes were great (anything with fish was fresh and delicious) while others were average. Curiously, the Caesar salad came with salsa and bacon (pictured). Tasty, just not what was expected.

Good place to hang out in Oban. There's not much nightlife in Oban but this place was lively and had a good selection of whisky.

With a lovely view over Oban bay this is a gem of a place to have dinner. Friendly staff, tasty well cooked food and a pleasant atmosphere. The lamb shank is especially recommended and is good value.A bonus is the west coast sunset, beautiful.Highly recommended.

Friendly staff. Food was good and could take our dog inside to eat. We used the bar a couple of times on our visit and was made welcome.

We received a wonderfully warm welcome, even with two dogs freshly wet from the beach! Coasters is a decent pub serving decent good value food. The beers on offer were a little unadventurous, as was the menu, but all was served impeccably and with great service and friendliness. Without us having to ask, a bowl of water for our dogs was brought over as we took our seats, and we humans were treated just as well. Our food was served promptly and was well presented. It tasted good too!

Popped in for a drink after a nice walk and they had no problem with our springer staying with us. Food looked so lovely we returned for our evening meal, again with our dog, and the place was so busy we had to wait for a table to become free!!!Food was amazing, very reasonably priced and obviously freshly home cooked. Staff so friendly and welcoming. Can't wait to go back next time we are up in Scotland.

Extremely disappointed. This is a pub that advertises pub grub, and there was a board outside giving the menu etc. It was Sunday 5.30 p.m. in a touristy town mid May, and where most pubby places have food all day, this place does not. I presume they served lunches but obviously sent the chef home for the afternoon. My friends and I were not happy. It is not as though this is a classy restaurant. They should be able to provide burgers, chips etc. on a late Sunday afternoon. - especially since it has a good reputation, thus attracting custom.

Popped in with some clients to watch the football and was made very welcome by the young lady behind the bar. She moved tables around to accommodate us for some food. Great value menu and food was excellent. Young lady kept coming back to ask if we needed anything on numerous occasions even though the bar was full. Worth a visit.

Went here last night for a drink on way back to our hotel, drinks were great and sat watching the sun go down on mull. Perfect end to a day.

Strolling back to our hotel (Queens hotel) on Oban Bay we nipped into Coasters for a wee dram and a beer.It was relatively quiet for a bank holiday Sunday but me and the Mrs weren't complaining. We propped up the bar and were served by a very polite, friendly young barman. The pub had lots of different bottled beers to choose from as well as a good range of Scottish Malt whiskies. £3:40 for a dram. We left just as it was starting to get busy but enjoyed our visit nonetheless.
