Now this is what I call a bowl of soup. The tastiest chicken and rice soup I've ever had. So filling unfortunately I had no room for a tasty toastie or any of the cakes on display. This welcoming cafe in the pretty village of Kirkmichael in South Ayrshire is well worth the drive. Just 20 mins from Ayr.
This man is just the highlight if the train station in arbroath. Best service in town and he is there in all coldness also. his coffee is the best. I love the Americano but have had the latte and cappuccino too and equally as good. Have to get a coffee each time I get the train and he's there!
We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Maddie and her mother for creating our absolutely stunning red velvet and Victoria sponge wedding cake. Both tiers were not only beautiful but also an absolute hit with our guests—they couldn’t stop raving about them! Every bite was a delight, and the cakes truly melted in our mouths. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to Helensburgh to indulge in more of your incredible creations. Highly recommended—your cakes are pure magic!
First visit to this garden centre and cafe. Found the staff in the shop extremely helpful as my friend is disabled and they provided a wheel chair for her comfort as it was very windy.
The food in the cafe was of a high standard and nicely presented. Staff were also very friendly and helpful.
Would definitely recommend.
Tonight we decided to try the Dunning hotel for our evening meal. The bar is quirky for an older style hotel with bench style seating with cushions. My wife ordered the beef steak pie with vegetables and chips, and I ordered the klopski polish pork meatballs in a tomato sauce, both dishes were very tasty . The meat in the beef steak pie was beautiful and tender with a nice rich flavoured gravy. The polish style meatballs had a lovely flavoursome tomato sauce. The Dunning hotel is nothing fancy but was welcoming and friendly 👍

Stopped of here on my travels and got myself a zinger wrap and I must say it was the best wrap i’ve ever had. The young lady called paige served me and made me my wrap. Well done stocks i’ll be back!
Wonderful bakers and cafe centred in Dunoon town. Wide range of bread / rolls cakes and bakery products. Cafe with large menu choices from full cooked meals to lighter options of rolls and cakes. Helpful and friendly service with staff serving you at the table. Toilets available for customers. Full disability access throughout and disabled toilet - at least a toilet a wheelchair can fit in. Parking kerbside close by when space allows and there are also public car parks in Dunoon - highly recommend …
We popped in to get a quick family lunch and were really happy that we did.
Pass the Thyme is a clean and tidy eaterie. Modern furniture and a nice bar at the end appeal to all. There was a steady stream of customers, mainly locals by the sound of it which is always a good sign. Some tables had also been reserved for lunch that Saturday afternoon.
The lunch menu was modern, accessible and focused on some staples such as pizzas, burgers, fries and salads. Between us we had a chicken Caesar, loaded nachos and smashed burgers. My 10yo wolfed down his burger and declared it “the best burger ever”. All dishes arrived promptly, were tasty, really well prepared and generous in their portions. And well priced too, ideal for a quick family lunch.
Service was in keeping being efficient, clear and friendly.
Very happy to recommend Pass the Thyme for lunch if you are in Campbeltown.
This shed is miles down a single track road, in a beautiful setting but hardly in a commuter belt. It is so well stocked. Cakes - so many to choose from, hot and cold drinks, ice cream, fudge tablet. The caravan park further down the road must help with trade, but it is a great place and I hope it continues to flourish and the baker continues to bake (Oh and the cakes and tablet were fab).
