We want to extend our heartfelt thanks to Maddie and her mother for creating our absolutely stunning red velvet and Victoria sponge wedding cake. Both tiers were not only beautiful but also an absolute hit with our guests—they couldn’t stop raving about them! Every bite was a delight, and the cakes truly melted in our mouths. We’re already looking forward to our next visit to Helensburgh to indulge in more of your incredible creations. Highly recommended—your cakes are pure magic!

Visited this shop in April last year and opted for the tirasmu. Shared it with my dad on his 92nd birthday and we both loved it. Made a return visit this week and chose an old favourite - strawberry tart - plus a pineapple and almond cake (absolutely sublime combination!). Shared again with my dad - on his 93rd birthday yesterday! Lovely shop, delicious products (or should I say works of art!), very pleasant staff. Well worth a visit.

I have bought many cakes here since it opened. Yesterday I got carrot cake, OMG the sponge was so moist and flavoursome. Never been let down by you all. Thank you

I happened to spot this lovely cake shop whilst strolling around Helensburgh. The counter was very attentive and there was plenty on offer, so much in fact it took a while for me to select a few to take home. Once home I was disappointed slightly with the quality of what I picked, it seemed like pre bought in pastry cases were used, the filling however was ample and well presented. Next time I will try the slice of cakes rather than the pastry filled cakes. Worth a visit though and definitely adds to the value of a trip to Helensburgh!

Fantastic addition to Helensburgh. Delicious, fancy & very artistic cakes / desserts. Could not be more helpful. Have supplied cakes for many IC our family and friends birthdays too, as well as individual cakes, even at short notice. Open 7 days a week too.

Visited Helensburgh for the day and was looking for a nice cake to take home. I am so glad I spotted The artist, as it's cakes, although I think "cakes" is too ordinary a word to describe them, are truly magnificent. We bought the lemon meringue with raspberry sauce tart, the banoffe tart and the hazel nut créme patisserie pastry. I've eaten cakes all across Europe and these are up there with the best. We will be back!

I have been visiting the Artist patisserie since my son moved to the area. We love everything that is created there. The afternoon teas are scrumptious and the best afternoon tea that we have had. I have been recommending the artist patisserie to family and friends.

Outstanding. There is a reason we keep going back. I have been a returning customer since they opened. Maddie front of house and her parents in the kitchen make for an enjoyable shopping experience which perfectly compliments the amazing choices behind the counter. I used to have a favourite but now there are too many to choose from a constantly updating selection. Love it. See you soon.

Visiting Helensborough and passed this patisserie and noticed the strawberry tarts. There’s nothing quite like a real Scottish strawberry tart so had to pop in to buy a couple. Not cheap but excellent quality

The artist patisserie is quality at its finest. Maddie is so helpful and knowledgeable and the cakes taste just as good as they look. Each piece is a work of art, what a talented family! Can’t wait to try more of those tasty treats!

A gem of. Little shop, staff helpful friendly and good advice on the cakes. Several purchased and then eaten later with a cuppa. Flavours are amazing the choices to die for. Well recomended for the flavours alone. Go on you know you want to try one,

We visited this shop in November 2021 and enjoyed several cakes we also took some when visiting relatives and they raved about them. We have only seen work this good in France and abroad. It is a must try if you are in or near Helensburgh. In addition I had occasion to need to send something to a relative I could not visit after Christmas and the cheesecake Maddie and her Mum produced was just perfect.

Frankly, the cakes are so enjoyable that I'm raging with myself that I didn't go sooner. They're all trained as well, so you know that you're going to be in for a treat. The owners are lovely and, with being so close to the station, they are within easy walking distance for most people. If you also have a disability like I do, with restricted mobility, they will make every effort to help you out as there are limitations with the building that they cannot do anything about. Some may not realise, but as a local, I thought it would be helpful to point this out for those planning a visit.
