Nice food, served by nice staff in a very busy garden centre cafe. We had the special of Cheese and tomato quiche with salad and chunky bread. A wee bit of a wait, but they were busy. The food was very tasty, but the quiche should have been described as mini quiche or a cheese n onion tartlet. We did mention it when paying, stating the food was lovely, and were told our comment would be passed to the chef. We will return as it is normally very good.

Lovely surroundings with lovely fresh food. Nice friendly servers. We only had a cheese scone, but they were fresh and very tasty. A very busy place. 👍

We arranged to meet a friend at the Cafe @Ashbrook for coffee and a catch up. As soon as we entered we were shown to a table, but before we took our eats, we stopped to have a look at the cakes available. It was difficult to make a choice as the selection was very good, from scones to mince pies and lovely sponge cakes. Once we had sat down the waitress came to take our order, which was 3 coffees, one cheese scone & butter and two lovely layered sponge cakes. Our friend was asked if she wished her scone warmed up - a nice gesture. Everything was very enjoyable as it always is. Any time we are there, the staff are very pleasant and welcoming and polite. They all seem to like working there. What a difference it makes now a days. We always look forward to going there as you never know what the selection of cakes will be. They also have a good selection of gifts, Christmas Trees and plants etc in the Garden Centre. Congratulations and good wishes to all for Christmas and the New Year

We were in Arbroath and after finishing or shopping decided to visit Ashbrook for a coffee. On entering we were met by a cheerful member of staff and before we were seated, had a look at the selection of cakes which are all made on the premises. We were shown to a table for 2 and our order was taken very quickly. We decided on coffees and Chocolate and Orange Layer Cake, which was delicious. The next day we were back with a friend and this time the cafe was full. We were given a buzzer and said it would bleep as soon as a table was available. This gave us plenty of time to walk round and look at the vast selection of plants and garden decorations. It wasn't long until we were buzzed, and on entering were shown to a table for 3. We noticed that all tables and chairs were cleaned between customers. Again the staff were very quick on taking our order, which was 2 coffees and a tea along with a Victoria Sponge, Rhubarb and Orange cake and again the Chocolate and Orange Layer Cake. All were extremely good. We'll have to pay a return visit to sample more of the delicious cakes!! There is also an excellent gift area with a vast selection. We must remark on the cleanliness of the whole building including the toilets.

So " The Cafe' " does not do it justice... Popped in for a coffee and a little something and was more than pleasantly surprised. We were given a warm welcome and directed to a lovely area in which to sit & eat. Having seen the amazing selection of home made sweets I asked about the Scones (which looked amazing) I was informed they were home made - Plain, Fruit & Cheese scones were available and todays Special was Raspberry and Coconut... Amazing to say the least. The service was friendly and the Scones were warm, served with butter and homemade blackcurrant jam (I also had Cream). The cappuccino coffee was full of flavour and the service was amazing. Whist we were there I took a look at the lunch menu which sounded beautiful, wish I had taken a photo - but you would not be disappointed. All in all 10/10 we will be back without a doubt.

Found this little gem last year and were delighted to find they'd risen to the Covid challenge and were operating on a takeaway basis, so on our road north this autumn we were able to book our lunch in advance, and it was every bit as good as what we ate indoors there on our previous visit. Food absolutely fresh and full of flavour - the Mexican GF wrap absolutely zinging and the Ham and Cheese Foccacia utterly delicious. Beautifully presented in environmentally friendly packaging. And the cakes - well, let's not even think about the calorie count - they were fantastic, both the ones we enjoyed on our picnic and those we took for our family to share for socially distanced morning coffee the following day. If you are in Arbroath area, please do yourself a favour and eat at Wild Thyme - you will not regret it, especially if you are veggie, vegan or GF and fed up being palmed off with a single tasteless afterthought on a menu.

No matter where you are. No matter the season. No matter the place. There’s always chickens. There’s always eggs. Dippy. Scrambled. Fried. Poached. Eggs. So simple. Uncomplicated. Magical. So easy to mess-up, eff-up. The joy of eggs done right. It’s a nod. It’s a smile that doesn’t fade. Doesn’t go away. Chef Rosie. Thanks for making me smile.

Great little pub, everyone welcome, felt like a home from home, (not that we stay in a pub)! Will definitely be back any time we are in Forfar.
