Visited tonight with family before they close and move location. Been few times before and must say quite disappointed tonight! Felt we were rushed to order and quickly made our decision. Husband and son had starters which arrived quickly and both enjoyed. Main course arrived quite quick after and my son had same dish as me (tacos) his dish consisted of 9 pieces of beef mine had 4! After cleaning our table our bill arrived without asking for it, case of eat it and beat it even though 15 minutes until closing and other table were being served desserts! Cutlery, crockery and glasses not as clean as should be either! Staff friendly but felt rushed as they had to finish ASAP! Disappointed as thought would be buzzing on their countdown to leaving! Good luck on your new adventures wee cook, but don’t let your standards slip!

Had a family event and relatives up from West Yorks. The WeeCook kitchen was the perfect place for us all to go. We were greeted warmly by waitress Tessa, owner and C4 TV celeb Hayley, and Sou Chef Evan the winner of young Chef of the year. Everything was absolutely superb. We all had something different from the Specials board. I had the Skate wings whilst some had pasta, others mussels or pies. Everything was 5 star michelin quality. Cant wait to return to this amazing place.

First tried their pies at the Partick Farmers Market in Glasgow. Sooo good. We are staying at Kirriemuir for a few days and made our way to Carnoustie to the Wee Cook. It was perfect. Had the beef bourguignon pies. They are the bomb. So much tender slow cooked beef. They’ve got a nice wee set up at a caravan park and we sat outside. Tessa our server was a delight. Friendly and very helpful. Grab a drink from the bar next door. Job done. Great job guys. See you back in Partick

Our first visit, but unlikely to be the last. An amazing menu, which delivered spot on. Portions were just the perfect size. All staff were friendly and gave helpful advice. This is not cheap food, but then again I don’t think it is overpriced, and. certainty not for the quality. Took away a sausage roll, which was eaten later in the day, and was on of the best EVER, and over 60.

Lovely menu - had to Google a few things including pistou and frickle! The pies win prizes but I'd suggest trying something else (croque madame was amazing) and take a pie home. Only quibble is that there's only a few parking spaces. It's so good that it's worth making the trip for. I had to do a 5 point turn and ask nicely to park in an empty caravan berth. Lady was very kind and let us, thank you!

My first visit to the WeeCook Kitchen today and what a wee gem it is. I chose the Arbroath Arnold Bennett after taking ages to decide as the menu has a great choice, it’s the best omelette I’ve ever eaten, the texture was spot on with crispy edges and full of Arbroath Smokie. I’m looking forward to going back to try even more from their menu. The staff were very welcoming and the atmosphere very relaxed too. Thank you all.

Great selection of dishes. The seafood specials were fantastic - lobster Caesar salad starter and mussel and asparagus risotto main were top dishes. We also had the Pan Tumaca starter, halloumi hash main and a pie snack special. Very good coffee too. We ended up taking away some pies for later! It’s a lovely relaxed place and the staff are very friendly. Will definitely visit again.

Absolutely loved lunch at the weekend after walking from Broughty Ferry 😋 Highly recommend! Everything was fresh and perfectly cooked (steak just right) homemade bread and biscotti were fantastic 👌🏼 Our little dog was welcomed with a water dish, doggy treats and lots of spoiling from the very friendly staff ♥️ Extra cherry on top was taking home x3 pies with us which again were outstanding. Will definitely return 😍 (We took advantage of BYOB and brought along a bottle of wine, decided on the bus for the return journey after a very satisfying lunch 👍🏼)

This is my second visit to the Wee Cook Kitchen . On both occasions the food was faultless. We ordered the pie snack specials with chips and beans which were lovely but was horrified when we went to pay the bill at the end of our visit to discover we was charged £7.50 for two portions of baked beans. We both misread the menu and assumed that the baked beans were included in the price at £9.50 along with the chips and salad. How wrong. It's £3.25 a portion. How shocking considering you can buy beans at 50p a tin. This is daylight robbery. How can it be justified. I admit we misread the menu and as the girl said when I questioned the bill she should have explained at the time about the extra charge but she admitted she didn't. So for two pie, chips and beans it cost us £27. Vastly overpriced. How can establishment warrant charging £7.50 fir two portions of baked beans is beyond me. If we return I will make sure the re read the menu. So beware read the menu.

Yet another brilliant evening in the WeeCook. Tonight was the 5th anniversary of the restaurant opening and one of the specials was a Steak for £5 to celebrate this occasion. I started off with the Arbroath Smokie chowder. It was to die for. It came with home made bread. Very tasty. Next course was the anniversary steak deal which I asked for rare. The wife had medium rare. Both were cooked perfectly as ordered. Very juicy and melted in the mouth. Our sides were chips, posh chips, and onion rings. We were also given a portion of Hallumi fries for free. We finished off with Toffee apple crumble with ice cream. All food was amazing. The staff as always super friendly. Tonight was Hayley, Leanne and Ethan. Thank you so much and looking forward to another 5 years of brilliant food and service.

Had dinner here today. Had been many times before but not for sometime. Was served my nice girl who was very pleasant. We are a family of five and four of us are adult age and one child . We all had a soft drink and a main. Food was good but all came out one at a time which by the time the last meal came my oldest son who ordered plain macaroni and was charged full price for simple bowl of . Price for this was £12.95 no extras just small bowl of macaroni. Also my daughter who is sixteen and a bit fussy asked for a plain cheese burger with processed slice of cheese and chips was charged £14.00 for. Myself had the bravas brunch which was very tasty but small portions that I was asked if I wanted halloumi as well as the chorizo was charged £14.20 for this meal. My wife ordered pasta carbonara, again was very nice and probably the correct price to be charged at £10.95. My younger son who is nine ordered the wee cookies kids meal and had the chicken and chips no dessert and for this we were charged £8.95 ( for a little bit of chicken and chips is totally unacceptable price to be charged). Drinks 2x cokes £3.90 apple juice for my son £1.95 2x soda and lime ( half pint size £5.80 . All together feel a little dissatisfied with the cost. Although food was fine we were charged for full meal prices that we didn’t actually receive. Value for money zero. Hope you take this review for what it is and not someone just having a moan . We visited today for a spot of lunch, with the dog, which is always good for us. Having an establishment that welcomes dogs as well as people is a big big plus. We had a lovely welcome and ordered the brilliant breakfast, which was exactly as stated, brilliant. Good quality products, great thick bacon, lovely sausages, spicy haggis, the list goes on. All freshly cooked and very tasty indeed. The homemade toast was a delight as well. They also do a great range of freshly made pies, which we didn't sample, but there were plenty of people coming in for take away pies, so that is always a good sign. We would thoroughly recommend a visit and if you have a dog, a trip to the beach at East Haven is a must. Thank you

We go very often to this little gem of a restaurant and last night we attended a Taste of Angus where Haley and her team along with other local producer gave us a really enjoyable evening. Not the greatest, very disappointed with "award winning pie" which was definitely not cooked long enough, ended up with stomach cramps, then violently sick a few hours later which was no coincidence and certainly not fun to try to deal with. Expensive for food and drink also, never again! Looking at the negative business reviews, I can see that when the business owner receives one they instantly blame the reviewer (see reply by owner to this review also) but maybe the owner would get on better with current, previous and even future customers if they didn't do this and instead just put their hands up and apologised, lucky I did not contact environmental health. Remember the number 1 rule of running a business "the customer is always right". Will definitely pop in and visit your business at some point to sort out this matter directly with yourself as your food made me very ill. Will be telling as many family members, work colleagues and my large group of friends to stay clear of your business due to your attitude as the business owner alone. With your very bad attitude, simply shocked to say the least. I live nearby in Monifieth so plenty local people to tell, some of which I know visit your business occasionally if plenty money. Thank you very much for your kind words.

Visited this wee gem of a place whilst on a weekend break in Carnoustie. This place has it all, superb food, excellent staff, and a friendly atmosphere all set in a lovely location. Definitely do not be put off because it's located within a caravan par. If this restaurant was in Edinburgh, it would have folk queuing to get in the door. Reservations are essential as you would not want to miss out on what's on offer here. My wife and I arrived on a wet and windy Friday night to be greeted by a friendly young man with a big smile who immediately gave us the impression it was going to be a pleasant evening. I am a coeliac and had mentioned this on my booking, we were given a GF menu, the full menu, and a weekend specials menu. My wife had the fire cracker cauliflower, and I had the king prawn with chorizo. Both dishes were flavoursome, and nicely spiced. We also had the Pan tumach as an extra stater due to a computer error which came on the house. We followed this with a hanging skewer of chicken souvlaki and the house burger. Again both dishes were delicious. We enjoyed the experience so much that we dined there again the next night. I had a GF Nasi Goreng and my wife had the pasta carbonara, again both dishes were sublime. The service is very good and the meals arrive promptly straight off the pass. The chef patron Hayley and her staff made time to chat with us, which only served to enhance the whole dining experience. We will definitely be dining here again and look forward to using the gorgeous outside dining space next year. If you are in the area and want great food with super friendly staff then head out of town to this place. Its only a five minute drive and really worth it. Note: This restaurant does not have a license to sell alcohol but they are happy for you to bring your own booze BYOB.

Very disappointed, food was very bland, all of my friends and I both came to the same conclusion. Service was very slow but was not busy at time. Very expensive also compared to other places in Angus and Dundee areas. No point in answering this review with the usual speil as I have already read your response back to other unhappy customers when viewing your other negative feedback and am of the opinion you do not take the slightest critism very well. If you do reply, no I did not complain at time to staff as it would have been embarrassing in front of my friends and it was not your fault I ordered after looking at the prices, I was struggling for time to go elsewhere. I realise times are hard and you have the usual overheads but prices are much higher than they should be.

First time here with some friends but unfortunately have had better in other accomplished establishments. Although all credit due to the kids working there on cheap labour. Unlikely to return now that i gave it a try.

We have tried their pies at the Glasgow market and they are amazing. So much creativity and flavour and a must have for any body has a chance to get them. Thank you for bringing live back in to that pie tradition. ❤️

Decided to try this restaurant after local rag reviewed it favourably. Parking is at rear of premises you do not enter the caravan park to gain access. Premises are spotless and tastefully decorated, only complaint is it was a bit cold, February at lunch time,...

Always a staple to visit when my kids are in town. Went for a pre-Christmas lunch, lovely staff as ever, and great food. The BYOB policy works well, with us taking some cider, beer and non alcoholic beer for the designated driver. Thanks to Hayley...

Awesome food, really friendly team and a really interesting setting. Eight of us went with a dog and we had excellent service. We all had different things, and everyone really enjoyed both the food and the atmosphere. Definitely very worth visiting if you can, and if not you can get the pies from the local farmers market.

Unbelievably good night at the first Salsa Supper! The food didn’t stop the whole time and was absolutely delicious with a variety of dishes. The staff were super friendly, nothing was too much for them which was topped off with fantastic dance performances! Can’t wait...

Great little pub, everyone welcome, felt like a home from home, (not that we stay in a pub)! Will definitely be back any time we are in Forfar.

No matter where you are. No matter the season. No matter the place. There’s always chickens. There’s always eggs. Dippy. Scrambled. Fried. Poached. Eggs. So simple. Uncomplicated. Magical. So easy to mess-up, eff-up. The joy of eggs done right. It’s a nod. It’s a smile that doesn’t fade. Doesn’t go away. Chef Rosie. Thanks for making me smile.

Good fresh food, although the menu isn't very varied if your looking for lunch It's in a lovely setting and there's a small play park for children. Dogs are allowed and well catered for. There's plenty parking but this is where I felt badly let down. There is no allocated disabled parking! There was a challenging walk on my crutches from the carpark to the cafe as the surface isn't very wheelchair friendly. With the space available in sure there is an easy remedy and I'm sure we'll come back for more of the good food and see if they resolve the parking for the disabled.
