I love the Koko Bean. The girls are friendly and are always willing to go that extra mile to get you what you want. The choice is great and there are always new things being added to the menu. A huge bonus is takeout. I'd highly recommend the fajita fries, stovies, soup and a sandwich and all the cakes, especially the cheesecake. If your looking for a little bit of decadence order a chocolate & salted caramel loaf... chocolate sponge soaked in salted caramel sauce topped in a chocolate ganache and decorated with many different chocolates...total bliss.

Visiting the area again and couldn't resist popping in to try their new dirty fries. Spoiler: They are good. Decided to stop for lunch and save the cakes for later. Fast efficient service from the staff when we wanted to order, even going to double check before we ordered that some of the order had been delivered. The food was ready quickly even though there were a few of us and was delicious. I would definitely recommend the dirty fries. After lunch we were too full for cake so got them to take out. When we took them home, the slices were that big we had to split them between two. As expected amazing.

I was visiting the area and decided to pop into here for a quick coffee. They had friendly staff, good coffee and a decent range of cake. We all had something different and couldn't resist buying something to take away. Now I follow them on facebook and cant wait for my next visit.

We were one of their first customers and watched as the business grew and staff forgot how to treat customers in nice polite way, told by owner that she is there not there to impress customers. With that attitude is no wonder we feel it has lost its way. You expect a Coffee House to have trained barista, but they serve the worst coffees in Arbroath (Iโ€™ve tried them all). Food is lacking in taste and quality, presentation is very simplistic, you would be hard pressed to find any healthy alternative. Nice complicated cakes used to be there trade mark that has gone and you have been left with simple every day cakes that you and I could make.

Very friendly place to visit and the staff go out of their way to help I Forgot to collect my cakes and the owner went out their way to deliver them late at night. And they went down with my fellow golfers.

We called in the Koko Bean coffee shop today after we asked a local at the jewellers where they recommended for lunch. So pleased they recommended this place because I had a lovely lunch of soup & my daughter had a mini all day breakfast. Afterwards I had a Ferrero Roche cake and my daughter had trifle. It was all delicious and the staff were very welcoming and friendly. My daughter was given some colouring to do while we waited and a chocolate coin as we left. When we visit Arbroath again we will call again to the Koko Bean :)

Recommended by the ticket office staff member of the nearby Arbroath Abbey. The food was delicious and the staff friendly and welcoming. A small place seating approximately 20 but full at 12.30/1.00 on a Wednesday in October (a beautifully sunny day in the week after half term).

I used to frequent this cafe years ago, under the previous management and it was a cheery, unpretentious place. Well it is still cheery, still unpretentious. You get a great cup of coffee at a bargain price. I am a little bit particular in my taste and the staff were quite willing to accommodate me. In fact, they took a pride in getting the customer the right brew for them. I like that. In an age where everything is averaged out and bland, to come across personal service is refreshing. Well done Koko Bean

We were really looking forward to trying the koko bean. But sadly didn't live up to the hype. Cupcakes were OK, but all the flavour was in the topping. Sponge was bland and we like our coffee much stronger.

Firstly the staff couldn't have been nicer. And the coffee was very good, the cupcakes were ok a bit to buttery for our taste. But my main problems with the coffee shop are that it had an overly oily cooking smell. Which put me off a bit and the fact that while we were eating. Someone went to the toilet and you could hear everything. Which certainly isn't appealing.

Good fresh food, although the menu isn't very varied if your looking for lunch It's in a lovely setting and there's a small play park for children. Dogs are allowed and well catered for. There's plenty parking but this is where I felt badly let down. There is no allocated disabled parking! There was a challenging walk on my crutches from the carpark to the cafe as the surface isn't very wheelchair friendly. With the space available in sure there is an easy remedy and I'm sure we'll come back for more of the good food and see if they resolve the parking for the disabled.

The view from the dining room was lovely and the staff were super friendly and welcoming, unfortunately, the food was not great. The lasagne tasted like a poor-quality frozen ready meal and the mac 'n' cheese was not very nice. The chips were good, though. Unfortunately, for several days afterwards I had an upset stomach. Apparently, due to staff shortages, their menu was reduced and maybe they didn't have the qualified staff who usually prepare the food. Maybe we were just unfortunate and did not sample their food at its best.

Friendly staff, good service. Nice to sit outside and look out over the harbor. They do not serve food anymore, but they do have an ice cream bar daytime. Fair prices on the beer.

I've visited this cafe many times as we stayed outside Alyth numerous times throughout the year and more so when my sisters cancer was terminal. The reason I'm back today is to visit where their ashes were scattered as both my mom and sister are scattered here together. (We live in Wales) I would agree with many other reviews on here that this is not the friendliest cafe considering how lovely it is. I will point out that most times when the younger girls serve, they're very pleasant. I was here on Monday for tea and cake and the young blonde lady serving was absolute lovely and gave me the WiFi password, as I've also had on previous trips when I've asked. Nothing worse sitting on your own, Billy no mates and can't use your phone. Today I'm stretching and getting signal on and off. Anyhow, I came In today, Wednesday 16 October, no hello.. nothing. Sat down and rude woman appeared with pen and notepad..no hello.. just are you ready to order or do you need another minute? No smile, no pleasantries. I ordered I then went up to look for the password only for her to tell me there isn't one.. you can't have WiFi as we don't have it. I said it's showing up .. and I got it on Monday. No you didn't as we don't give it out... if everyone uses it our tills don't work.. Really ??? ๐Ÿค”๐Ÿค”๐Ÿ˜ถโ€๐ŸŒซ๏ธ I said once again I got it on Monday. - no you didn't !! OK.. seemingly I'm a liar now ๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ™„๐Ÿ˜” Honestly I doubt I'll be back here as clearly the same woman, older, glasses and not a scottish accent I don't believe, Blue in her hair this time. You'd think after many complaints they'd do something about this.. unless she's the actual owner.. which sadly I hope not.. She does not make visiting conditions pleasant .
