We went for Saturday nigh dinner and it was busy. Despite this, the welcome we received was warm and friendly. Service was professional and the food and how it was delivered were both excellent. The main waitress/ bar person went the extra mile to make sure that everyone sitting inside and outside the hotel was being attended to. I would strongly recommend this hotel over the other Kirkmichael hotel, which was a terrible experience the night before.

Drinks came really quickly. Nice ales. Food was excellent. Thoroughly enjoyed my cullen skink starter and venison burger main. Two other family members really enjoyed the chicken satay starter (superb apparently) and their beetroot and puy burger. Home made chips. Everything very hot. Good range of veggie options. We visited on a Saturday, 1st one after lockdown. We pre booked just to ensure we could get a table and to check it was OK to bring our 2 dogs. Very warm welcome from 'mum' on arrival. Shown to our outside table under a large gazebo. It was fine but a bit blustery....bring a blanket. Service slow but totally understandable given the current restrictions. Place spotless and regular sanitising. Food was great steak and fish and chips highly recommended. Great family run place. Will definitely be back when we're in the area again.

With restaurants only just opening after the COVID lockdown, we weren’t sure if we should sit outside and have food here or not, however we are so glad we did! There is a one way system and hand sanitizer for all. Tables were two metres apart and under a large gazebo type thing that kept the showers off you. Staff were so kind and accommodating on their first day of opening and the menu had a large choice on it. Food was just delicious and was presented really well. Lovely atmosphere and great food. Tremendous effort, thank you Strathardle Inn!! :)

We stayed here for 2 nights over Hogmanay. Abi and staff were friendly and welcoming. The house was an old house in the middle of the beautiful Scottish countryside. We stayed out in the courtyard. The room was spacious and clean. There was plenty of storage . The towels were changed on a daily basis. We ate in the restaurant which was clean. The menu was good although several of the items had sold out. Breakfast was tasty and plentiful. Overall was a relaxing stay and will definitely be returning.

There are 2 separate rooms, a lounge area with tables for a more restaurant-feel and a bar area with smaller tables for a pub-feel. We went 2 nights in a row and tried both, though ended up in the pub at the end of each night regardless. The staff are all extremely friendly and the menu was great. I had steak the first night which was excellent and a comforting mac-and-cheese the second night. I would definitely return and highly recommend.

We enjoyed a great meal here, whilst staying a Saturday night at the Inn - before going further north. My husband chose a 'Special' Beef and Thrapple Pie, with potatoes and vegetables, and I had the Homemade Tagliatelle with mushrooms, garlic, Blue Dunsyre & shallot cream sauce. Both dishes were really delicious, scrumptious, in fact. We actually ate in the bar late afternoon, which was a good move on our part because (when the evening arrived) the Inn's restaurant was full and it was heaving in the bar. This is always a good sign, we feel .... to see an eatery being so well frequented :-) Staff were very friendly. So it would be wise to book to avoid disappointment. We had an overnight stay here on Saturday 7th March . Can i firstly state the hoteliers were extremely friendly and welcoming . We had a bar meal which arrived 5 minutes after ordering . My partner and i both had the fish , the batter was very soggy and the tartare sauce was vile , the homemade chips were more like soggy wedges . When asked i did complain that the tartare sauce was terrible and that i had to scrape it off my fish . I left more than half my meal . My partner was violently sick overnight . My vomiting started 12 hours later and today wednesday i still feel very unwell. My partner and daughter went for breakfast the next day where the service was extremely poor and after a 45 minute wait the breakfast was finally served it was more greasy spoon than hotel standard. Overall view was we wished we'd stayed at home. The best part of the food were the homemade biscuits in the room which were delicious.

Glenshee is a lovely area in Perth and Kinross, but not enough tourism at the moment. If you are coming this way, you'll find a very warm and friendly welcome at the Strathardle Inn. We went there for a last night meal - avoiding cooking on the last evening is a good strategy! - and were served with a delicious meal we all pronounced 'tasty'. It was also traditional, featuring 'tattie scones' and beef brisket, cullen skink and haddock mash. Combinations of flavours meant that the meal really did taste delectable, and the presentation was also very good. The restaurant itself is pleasant and cosy, though we were alone - everyone else eating in the bar! A lovely find: just a pity not many people seem to be here, even in August.

After a long walk we stumbled across the Strathardle Inn, suffice to say my husbands eyes lit up when he saw magners on draft and that they were dog friendly, with the beagle Oscar in residence. We started with a carved meat, olives, bread and dipping oil which we shared, better than some city restaurants. For mains we had Scottish haddock fish and chips with home made tartare sauce and a jacket potato accompanied with the carrot ginger honey and apple soup (I was dubious about the soup but WOW it tasted amazing) all in all a great eating experience and McCoy was both grateful for the dog chews and meeting Oscar we will be back.

We were a family of 7 and had reserved a table on a Thursday evening. We were greeted by a lovely gentleman in a kilt. The sitting room was very small and snug, and traditional in Scottish decor which I liked. What started off promising, turned into a disappoint. Mostly everyone had ordered venison on the menu. However, we were later informed that the kitchen had ran out of venison and the lamb dish and only had 2 steaks left. We therefore had to scramble with whatever was left. I started with the pea soup of the day (5.95 GBP) and then salmon with risotto (12.95). Strangely, my rice also came with potatoes. I got the impression the kitchen had ran out of risotto. Other members had fish and chips (9.95 GBP) and the steak was (18.95). The food overall was ok, but I couldn't help but think the kitchen really needs to be more organised. For our disappointing evening, management gave us 2 free bottles of wine. It was an ok night, but I may look to another place if I was in the area.

Daughter had Highland Beef burger and that was so meaty and tasty. The real ale was excellent too, they had two hand pumps of Cairngorm Trade winds & Fyne Hurrican Jack.

We stayed over at the hotel on a Sunday and had dinner within the restaurant. The hotel staff were fantastic (Blake deserves special recognition - thank you!), and our room was well equipped, clean and comfortable. The hotel is located centrally so it’s easy for access to local amenities. The food in the restaurant was excellent and great value. The place was buzzing so we were so lucky to have booked in advance. The locals clearly enjoy the restaurant and made for a wonderful atmosphere. I highly recommend this place to anyone for meals, drinks and stays.

The location, the restaurant, the staff and the food are all excellent. My partner and I had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch and each dish (cheese souffle, John Dory and blueberry pana cotta) worthy of 10 out of 10. scores. My only concern is that the 25% increase in the price may deter future customers.

In town centre parking all around.Served quickly and friendly. Nice menu we both opted for the steak pie. Which didn’t disappoint tasted delicious and good portion size. We even greater ourselves to pudding - sticky toffee to be exact served with ice cream - absolutely delicious.£25 for 2 x 2 courses and soft drinks good value.Defo recommend.

Love this place. The food was delicious and deserts great. There were lots of excellent gluten free options. We especially enjoyed the two young waiters. They were very engaging.
