Amazing food which we had as a takeaway. I was really impressed with quality (and reasonable cost). The venue itself was also of a high standard if you are dining in and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone!!

We were visiting the area, and I looked at the reviews for Brown and Blacks. The reviews were accurate, and we had a fantastic meal. The food was freshly cooked and served with a smile. The fish and chips were great, and so was the sea food platter. For dessert, I had sticky toffee pudding, and my wife had the ice cream. Both were delicious. We will recommend it to our friends who live locally to be regular visitors.

We had a very delicious meal in this stylish restaurant. Lots of choice on the menu and friendly service. Steak burger is highly recommended.

This is the worst meal I have had !! I ordered whole tail scampi and fish the scampi was smaller than your little finger nail the peas were hard !! I complained and was asked if I would like fish instead so I said yes that meal was cheaper but not offered a refund!! The peas were hard again and I was told that they were fresh so they gone over and should not be used !! The fish was dripping in oil and had no taste at all !! My partner said not to complain again but I would not go here again !! To top it we didn’t get offered any money back !! Otherwise the pub was nice and clean and the toilets were clean!!

Went here as meeting family. The food was very well presented and tasted lovely. The young girl who took our drinks order was not very friendly / bordered on rude but the next waitress who served our food was friendly. Just not a welcoming start but it did improve.

We stumbled across this bar and restaurant and so glad we did. The owner Katie runs it like clockwork. The staff are so lovely. The food was fantastic. There was music on the night we were there which made it even better. Great atmosphere. Well done Katie you have ticked every box and more and you do it all with a smile.

Lovely place and we have eaten here before however this time it was terrible to the point I had to let the waitress know. The food was overly greasy (couldn't eat the onion rings)and we found a milk bottle top in the food. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.Shame as previous visits have been good. Staff are nice though. perhaps they were too busy!!

We had an evening meal at Brown and Blacks, they had a very good varied menu, we had one fish dish and a steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, as was the fish, large portions, so no room for a sweet. Service was very good with a friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed and recommended. Brown and Blacks is set in a lovely little village in Scone. we had a little explore after the meal, so quiet, very pleasant,

Chicken schnitzel was lovely and the strawberries & cream were amazing! Staff were very friendly and attentive, even though it was really busy.

Can't comment on food as we never had any but staff were amazing. nice comfortable place nice little beer garden.if you don't mind passing traffic but if you go there when the sun is heading west it's a really nice place to sit outside. We only went for drinks but when food was being served to other tables it looked delicious. So will definitely be trying the food next time. Also great pint of tennents, 👌

Had a Tapas meal today. Absolutely delicious The only thing I would comment on was that there were 3 dishes that were battered .But having said that we Really enjoyed it .Staff were very friendly and attentive Would definitely recommend Thank you

Feel like I went to a different restaurant from the one reviewed below. Burgers were average at best, didn’t seem to have been freshly cooked and bland in flavour. Served on long life buns, frozen chips, factory coleslaw. Told serving staff glasses and cutlery were dirty but didn’t seem bothered. When asked how meal was at till I said it was ‘alright’ to which the response was ‘honest and modest’… not great.

Had an Itison voucher for afternoon tea...which I would say was delicious no complaints, but we had to wait 40 mins to get served, our tea and coffee were cold by then even when we had asked to get it with our food. Found it strange as we had prebooked so they knew we were coming, but another two tables walked in as we were served ours and not even 5 mins later they got theirs! Was just a bit disappointed in the service but the food was lovely.

Enjoyed the tapas menu through the Itison deal. A fantastic selection of dishes along with warm bread, olives and oils and a glass of wine. All the food was delicious and really big portions. Excellent service from the friendly team. Beautiful decor inside- highly recommend a visit.

Went as a group of 8 adults a baby and a dog for dinner, no problems with having the dog in or the baby in the pram. I had a starter of salt and chilli king prawns followed by a main of a 6oz prime steak burger and a mango and malibu cheesecake for dessert, all three were outstanding and I could not be happier with my evening here. Portions served are very big, so that’s something to think about before getting excited by a dessert option. I have not rated the atmosphere due to the fact it was very quiet on a tuesday night so i don’t know what it might be like on a busier night, but have to say from what we saw tonight the place was very relaxed and very comfortable. Our waiter was fantastic and did almost all of our serving and collecting plates etc. by himself which was very impressive! Looking forward to going back at the next available excuse for a night out!

I really liked it and, above all, tasted good. Be it the starter, main course or dessert with Scottish cheese. Everything was well prepared and served with love. Service was attentive but not intrusive, as you would expect. The food was all served quickly even though the restaurant was very busy. Keep it up

First visit since the move to Scone. Did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked steak, onion rings were a good extra. And the Banoffee Crème Brûlée was amazing and a generous helping too. Only a short bus ride from Perth.

First visit to Brown and Black's. Very busy, but great atmosphere. Service was very good and food was excellent. Not the biggest menus, but something for everyone. Only minor blemish was that they did not stock Guinness 00.

Stopped in without a booking on a Sat night. Staff were amazing and found us a table for two. Good was outstanding and the service first class. We'll be back next time we are in Perth.

Went for Mother’s Day , ordered 2 gluten free fish and chips which I’ve had many times . When the meals came it was steamed/boiled fish + a few chips, that was it ! Absolutely disgraceful and so disappointing, if it wasn’t for the fact I had my mother with me I’d have sent the meal back and left. Staff as always were friendly

We went here for dinner after swing dancing. Very clean and modern looking establishment. Vegan and gluten free options were available and the staff were attentive though we did arrive early when it was quiet. The cabsav wine was phenomenal and the battered haddock was delicious. The meal was let down by the subpar chips though, not on par with the rest of the experience. The brownie dessert was delicious and the decaf coffee had a good crema and complimentary mint biscuit which I always like. Good food, lovely service and great gluten free options! I think different music would suit the restaurant better and the lights could be dimmed, it’s really bright and lacks the cozy pub ambiance. Will definitely be back for the delicious, coeliac safe food though!

The reviews are genuine, this place is brilliant, we shared some mains that included a sea food platter and mediterranean salad, the food was plentiful, tasty, well seasoned, they did a great job, and combined with the atmosphere and friendly staff it’s on our favourites for a future revisit, well done B&B….!!!!!

A nice fine dine restaurant with good ambiance and nice staff. The staff took real good care of us and the food was yum. There was a very good dedicate parking which helped from having to find a slot in the busy streets. Enjoyed the soup and baked potato. The stir fry was nice but not to our liking as the sauce was a lot too sweet.

Outstanding lunch and have to compliment the Seafood Platter! Amazing quality and service was brilliant. Will be back!

Visited this place for a funeral tea. I had never been before, was very impressed the staff were excellent very attentive, the food was excellent and the surroundings very nice, we will go back very impressed. Would highly recommend.

Went here with a friend for lunch and really enjoyed the food, service, and atmosphere.

Passing through perth/scone and stopped here for lunch at random had soup and a sandwich. Was surprised by the cosey dining room and food - especially the soup. Will return again if I'm in the area

Great service and atmosphere. We went for dinner twice in our two day stay in Scone, a nice town near Perth. Highly recommended food.

They recommended it to us for breakfast, and a little more and we make lunch. No slow, very slow. However, the breakfast was very good, the Scottish breakfast of very good quality. They should look at the service time as it is their only negative point

Need more variety in the food choices and taste of the food itself. Kind staffs. A bit expensive. Suggestion. To offer two or three courses menus and more options.

Its a lovely place with lot of space & private parking. There is outdoor seating and a play area for wee ones too. We spent around 1.5 hrs here while on our way to further up north. Stir fried noodles was delicious & they do half portions as well.

Five meals in five days - does that not seem like a recomendation?

Enjoyed a great meal with former work colleagues/friends. Standard of food and pricing consistently good. Little noisy as particulatly busy over lunch-time (12.30). Opportunities to eat outside in quieter areas but we managed a corner round table. Perfect for our catch-up.

In a half empty dining room we had to wait 45 mins for our five meals we did get discount but the whole outing was spoilt. Never again

Parking at rear. Unassuming front door leading to a front bar then into a large bright well furnished warm restaurant. Was surprisingly popular 11am on a Tuesday. Comfortable well upholstered seats, nice well spaced tables. Attractive carpeting, matching wallpaper. Called in for coffee and scones. Lovely presentation, scones warmed with butter and jam. In nice plate with cutlery wrapped and taped. Good Offer 2 tasty good sized scones and 2 coffees £10. Staff friendly, chatty, professional, welcoming. Didnt eat here but Evening Menu seems well priced and varied. Offers half portions, maybe perfect for light lunch, elderly or children. Good experience.

Atmosphere was cosy and warm and staff was super friendly and helpful. We ordered way too much food, and the staff were happy to pack it neatly to go. Food tasted nice and hot- in the pictures you can see: cullen skink and sweet potato & lemongrass soups, baked camembert with garlic ciabatta and walnut & pear salad, braemar chicken with veg, onion rings and a side of mac & cheese. I would also recommend the frozen cocktail :). They had a daquiri option and a cocktail of the day- which was frozen tutti frutti. The mac & cheese was a bit bland for my taste but everything else was delicious. Would definitely go there again! :)

This place is amazing. Great place to bring kids because it’s friendly, lively and loud —but the food is still top notch. Got the special (steak pie) which was fantastic. And the sticky toffee pudding is the best I’ve ever had.

We love coming here for food and love the refurbishment from a few years back when it was called something else! We couldn't get booked in the restaurant this time as they were full, however, we were able to reserve a table in the bar. The staff were all fantastic, everyone was friendly and welcoming. The food, as usual, was fresh, hot and delicious. The only downside to being in the bar is that it's a lot noisier, especially when the rugby is on - but that's to be expected! Personally, I don't think we'd book to sit in the bar again, but that's purely my opinion, If we can't get booked in the restaurant then I'd be tempted to dine elsewhere. Saying that, the atmosphere was great for a village pub, its great to see the life inside it and I always think its the sign of a fantastic place to go if booking can be difficult. Dog friendly if dining in the bar. Food and staff are great. Lovely cosy area near the real fire. Only grumble is when eating in the bar it can be a little noisy as there is music and sport and the bar is busy. Plenty of atmosphere though.

Had the full Scottish breakfast which was amazing. Staff really friendly and helpful. Lovely atmosphere, even though my party were the only ones there. Will defo be coming back.

I will be returning next time I visit Scone, wonderful food with a cosy freindly atmosphere. I had the fish platter which i would highly recommend, good value based on the quality of everything. Staff were nice and very accommodating. Dont overlook this amazing venue.

I just got off the phone with my Grandma (Mrs Arnold) and she was so happy to tell us how amazing this place was. They ordered a Christmas dinner which they delivered to her house right on time. The value was incredible and they only had good things to say about the food. Not only that but she said that Katie was really useful when it came to organizing it all! X

Shortly after visiting for Xmas lunch on 19/12/22 along with my family, two of whom are gluten free, my son who is one of those began to feel unwell and showing signs of having eaten a non GF product. He had ordered the vegetable curry with Nan bread. He was extremely unwell by the time we got home. The next day we contacted the restaurant to ask if there had been a mix up with the Nan bread they said that what they actually used for the GF meal was in fact Tesco pitta bread, not as stated on the GF menu. As we buy this product regularly we knew that it was definitely not the pitta bread they had served with the curry, had the GF menu stated that is was pitta bread we would have known it wasn’t, We had assumed that the Nan with the meal was a GF Nan as stated on the GF menu. They have categorically denied and refused to accept that a mistake had been made with no offer of an apology. I nor any of my family will never be back to this venue and would advise anyone else to avoid it.
