We only stopped in for something to eat,the food was hot to the last bite,and there was plenty of it. The atmosphere was amazing

Nice venue , great staff , class food , my only complaint if any would be the pork belly came without pak Choi in my starter which was a bit disappointing because i love the stuff , but the pork belly was phenomenal, would 100% come back

Came here from fife on Hogmanay for our family get together. 7 adults and 2 toddlers. Friendly greetings from waitress and promptly seated including baby chairs. Drinks ordered first and all good.Starters arrived soon after ordering together with children's food which was perfect. Everyone happy with starters especially the cock a leeky chicken soup and the scallops which were especially good. Then the mains arrived altogether within a minute, well done. Everyone was happy with the food and the generous platefuls, although I thought the red tai vegetable and rice would not be enough for a male, it could have done with a little more vegetables. The haddock and chips were fine but could have done with a larger plate to Eat off . The children's food was good and adequate. Lastly the sweets came which were lovely apart from the clootie dumpling and custard which was a bit dry and for the price could have been a bit more Also vegetarian dishes could have more choice.We had a couple of rounds of drinks throughout the meal and the total was£400.00 . Both the toilets were very clean and modern and the baby changing facility was good. I would say brown and blacks is quality pub food. Little note their was a 10% service charge although I am assured that you don't have to pay but should be spoken about to whoever asks for the bill to save embarrassment. Most of us agreed we would Pop in here again in the future and would recommend it.

Cocktails and food are always great here. Live active customers get 5% off food. The Christmas gingerbread cocktail is lovely!

Drinks in the cosy bar with a log fire before a delicious Sunday lunch with friends. The food was amazing and beautifully presented. We really enjoyed the pulled pork tacos and tempura black pudding with apple sauce starters followed by chicken schnitzel and crab risotto with crispy skin sea bass. Really interesting menu, the service was great and the prices were reasonable. It was our first visit but we will definitely be back soon.

I thoroughly enjoyed stopping here for food on my way home to Ayrshire from Aberdeen - fine food, damn tasty and great service from the staff.

From the moment we entered the staff were very attentive. Hands down I received one of the tastiest lunches I've had in a long time. Salt and pepper panini with roasted peppers with an accompanying salad including pesto pasta and piquante peppers which added to the flavours. The food arrived in what seemed like minutes. Really nice atmosphere in bar and restaurant. Very reasonably priced too! I could of easily settled in and stayed longer. Definitely be back.

Booked on the day as I hear it gets busy. Food was very well presented a decent portion. Staff very friendly and attentive. The bar was a little noisy. Carparking on site. One of our guests was GF, and she was happy with the menu.

Visited this place for a funeral tea. I had never been before, was very impressed the staff were excellent very attentive, the food was excellent and the surroundings very nice, we will go back very impressed. Would highly recommend. Back for the third time today 19th Oct., for lunch food was as before excellent, service excellent staff all friendly, highly recommend Brown and Black's.

1st time visit to this lovely restaurant. Food was excellent. Staff were very friendly and attentive. Decor was fresh and clean .. Toilet facilities were spotless. Definitely go back.

First visit to Brown and Black's. Very busy, but great atmosphere. Service was very good and food was excellent. Not the biggest menus, but something for everyone. Only minor blemish was that they did not stock Guinness 00. Third visit tonight. Food and service still excellent. Still no Guinness 00, although waitress said it was regularly requested.

Delicious food well worth it mmmmm

We called into Brown and Blacks for a meal on Saturday and we were so pleased we came back for lunch on Sunday as well! The meal was excellent and the pub is lovely, the service was extremely good and the staff were so friendly! We live a 5 hour drive away but will definitely come back next year when we are back in the area!

I came here for breakfast on a Sunday with my parents and daughter. I would firstly like to say the food was fine, the issue came from the fact that we had to wait 40 minutes for it. That in itself is not good but at no point did any of the waiting staff apologise for the wait or even acknowledge it. The restaurant was empty apart from my table and one other couple so I can really see no reason for such a long wait time for a simple order. Further more my mother ordered an Americano and was asked if she would like a wee jug of milk with it, which she accepted. Upon paying the bill the waitress advised i am going to charge you for the milk I hope that is okay. I cannot believe a restaurant like this would need to charge their customers 20p for some milk with their coffee, really poor and probably should have been advised when offering. Found the service very poor all round, will not be coming back for breakfast again and has damaged my opinion of this restaurant.

While staying at Perth racecourse we decided to head out on the staff recommendation for something to eat at Brown & Blacks. This was a very vibrant modern pub, very busy with food & drink and many staff to take care of things. I went for the breaded haddock while my partner had the soup (a very strong flavoured chicken & chorizo) and the food was quite hot and fresh. I'm only giving 4 stars as the food was quite pricey for the quality, as I've had bigger & thicker haddock for a lesser price, and the chips had a few too many scraps as opposed to full chips. However the service was excellent & the staff are very attentive and on the ball.

Our hotel gave us a discount voucher for this restaurant so we stopped by on a Friday evening. It was quite busy, but the lovely waitresses found us a table straight away. My partner ordered fish and chips, and I had a delicious chicken and chorizo soup with lovely,soft,crusty bread. The food was lovely but overpriced, and the service was second to none.

Amazing food which we had as a takeaway. I was really impressed with quality (and reasonable cost). The venue itself was also of a high standard if you are dining in and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone!!

We were visiting the area, and I looked at the reviews for Brown and Blacks. The reviews were accurate, and we had a fantastic meal. The food was freshly cooked and served with a smile. The fish and chips were great, and so was the sea food platter. For dessert, I had sticky toffee pudding, and my wife had the ice cream. Both were delicious. We will recommend it to our friends who live locally to be regular visitors.

This is the worst meal I have had !! I ordered whole tail scampi and fish the scampi was smaller than your little finger nail the peas were hard !! I complained and was asked if I would like fish instead so I said yes that meal was cheaper but not offered a refund!! The peas were hard again and I was told that they were fresh so they gone over and should not be used !! The fish was dripping in oil and had no taste at all !! My partner said not to complain again but I would not go here again !! To top it we didn’t get offered any money back !! Otherwise the pub was nice and clean and the toilets were clean!!

Went here as meeting family. The food was very well presented and tasted lovely. The young girl who took our drinks order was not very friendly / bordered on rude but the next waitress who served our food was friendly. Just not a welcoming start but it did improve.

We stumbled across this bar and restaurant and so glad we did. The owner Katie runs it like clockwork. The staff are so lovely. The food was fantastic. There was music on the night we were there which made it even better. Great atmosphere. Well done Katie you have ticked every box and more and you do it all with a smile.

Lovely place and we have eaten here before however this time it was terrible to the point I had to let the waitress know. The food was overly greasy (couldn't eat the onion rings)and we found a milk bottle top in the food. To say we were disappointed would be an understatement.Shame as previous visits have been good. Staff are nice though. perhaps they were too busy!!

We had an evening meal at Brown and Blacks, they had a very good varied menu, we had one fish dish and a steak. The steak was cooked perfectly, as was the fish, large portions, so no room for a sweet. Service was very good with a friendly atmosphere. Enjoyed and recommended. Can't comment on food as we never had any but staff were amazing. nice comfortable place nice little beer garden.if you don't mind passing traffic but if you go there when the sun is heading west it's a really nice place to sit outside. We only went for drinks but when food was being served to other tables it looked delicious. So will definitely be trying the food next time. Also great pint of tennents, 👌

Had a Tapas meal today. Absolutely delicious The only thing I would comment on was that there were 3 dishes that were battered .But having said that we Really enjoyed it .Staff were very friendly and attentive Would definitely recommend Thank you

Feel like I went to a different restaurant from the one reviewed below. Burgers were average at best, didn’t seem to have been freshly cooked and bland in flavour. Served on long life buns, frozen chips, factory coleslaw. Told serving staff glasses and cutlery were dirty but didn’t seem bothered. When asked how meal was at till I said it was ‘alright’ to which the response was ‘honest and modest’… not great.

Had an Itison voucher for afternoon tea...which I would say was delicious no complaints, but we had to wait 40 mins to get served, our tea and coffee were cold by then even when we had asked to get it with our food. Found it strange as we had prebooked so they knew we were coming, but another two tables walked in as we were served ours and not even 5 mins later they got theirs! Was just a bit disappointed in the service but the food was lovely.

Enjoyed the tapas menu through the Itison deal. A fantastic selection of dishes along with warm bread, olives and oils and a glass of wine. All the food was delicious and really big portions. Excellent service from the friendly team. Beautiful decor inside- highly recommend a visit.

Went as a group of 8 adults a baby and a dog for dinner, no problems with having the dog in or the baby in the pram. I had a starter of salt and chilli king prawns followed by a main of a 6oz prime steak burger and a mango and malibu cheesecake for dessert, all three were outstanding and I could not be happier with my evening here. Portions served are very big, so that’s something to think about before getting excited by a dessert option. I have not rated the atmosphere due to the fact it was very quiet on a tuesday night so i don’t know what it might be like on a busier night, but have to say from what we saw tonight the place was very relaxed and very comfortable. Our waiter was fantastic and did almost all of our serving and collecting plates etc. by himself which was very impressive! Looking forward to going back at the next available excuse for a night out!

I really liked it and, above all, tasted good. Be it the starter, main course or dessert with Scottish cheese. Everything was well prepared and served with love. First visit since the move to Scone. Did not disappoint. Perfectly cooked steak, onion rings were a good extra. And the Banoffee Crème Brûlée was amazing and a generous helping too. Only a short bus ride from Perth.

Stopped in without a booking on a Sat night. Staff were amazing and found us a table for two. Good was outstanding and the service first class. We'll be back next time we are in Perth.

Went for Mother’s Day , ordered 2 gluten free fish and chips which I’ve had many times . When the meals came it was steamed/boiled fish + a few chips, that was it ! Absolutely disgraceful and so disappointing, if it wasn’t for the fact I had my mother with me I’d have sent the meal back and left. Staff as always were friendly

We went here for dinner after swing dancing. Very clean and modern looking establishment. Vegan and gluten free options were available and the staff were attentive though we did arrive early when it was quiet. The cabsav wine was phenomenal and the battered haddock was delicious. The meal was let down by the subpar chips though, not on par with the rest of the experience. The brownie dessert was delicious and the decaf coffee had a good crema and complimentary mint biscuit which I always like. Good food, lovely service and great gluten free options! I think different music would suit the restaurant better and the lights could be dimmed, it’s really bright and lacks the cozy pub ambiance. Will definitely be back for the delicious, coeliac safe food though!

The reviews are genuine, this place is brilliant, we shared some mains that included a sea food platter and mediterranean salad, the food was plentiful, tasty, well seasoned, they did a great job, and combined with the atmosphere and friendly staff it’s on our favourites for a future revisit, well done B&B….!!!!!

A nice fine dine restaurant with good ambiance and nice staff. The staff took real good care of us and the food was yum. There was a very good dedicate parking which helped from having to find a slot in the busy streets. Enjoyed the soup and baked potato. The stir fry was nice but not to our liking as the sauce was a lot too sweet.

They recommended it to us for breakfast, and a little more and we make lunch. No slow, very slow. However, the breakfast was very good, the Scottish breakfast of very good quality. They should look at the service time as it is their only negative point

Need more variety in the food choices and taste of the food itself. Kind staffs. A bit expensive. Suggestion. To offer two or three courses menus and more options.

Its a lovely place with lot of space & private parking. There is outdoor seating and a play area for wee ones too. We spent around 1.5 hrs here while on our way to further up north. Stir fried noodles was delicious & they do half portions as well.

Five meals in five days - does that not seem like a recomendation?
