We enjoyed the offering here. A compact menu comprising of excellent homemade options. The presentation of everything was so thoughtful, from the tea cups to the jewel-like salad garnished with fresh fruits. The range of teas was impressive including organic brews, and we heard people commenting how good the coffee was. On the sweet side the cakes were lovely. Regret not trying the clootie as we were too full but it looked amazing, next time ! Family run business with interesting historical family photos and art work on display. A very unique atmosphere and friendly proprietors.

This is my favourite place to stop for lunch, or just a coffee, while driving down the A9. It's so much nicer than stopping in a coffee chain or service station. Last week I had lunch. The menu is small – just quiche of the day or soup of the day, if you want something savoury – but they are always excellent. On this occasion, the soup looked like the healthier option, but I had a mature cheddar and caramelised onion quiche which was lovely and rich. They have a range of cakes and desserts, though I rarely have these.

The selection was small, but the quality was excellent. You could have home made soup or quiche. I had one and my husband had the other and they were both fantastic. We followed this up with a delicious portion of clootie dumpling which was large enough for us to share. This is very slightly off the beaten path. Close enough that it is still handy for the Main Street, but far enough away to avoid the larger crowds that the Main Street attracts. Well worth a visit.

This is a great little cafe just off the main square in Dunkeld. We've been twice and it has excelled on both occasions. The last time we went, we had a cheese and onion quiche which probably surpasses all other quiches we've ever tasted. Absolutely marvellous

Went with a friend for lunch. The menu font is sooooooo small we could hardly read it! The menu only had cakes and drinks, no lunch items such as sandwiches etc. The owner husband came over and we enquired if we were too late for lunch. He laughed weirdly at us and said in a smutty tone "we don't serve SANDWICHES here".... we were like, oh sorry, we thought this was a cafe...he then listed one soup and one tart that they sold, emphasising the HOMEMADE ingredients. Without much choice we both chose the tart. He then asked if that's all we wanted, no hot drinks or cake. We said if we had room we would like cake. He asked what we wanted, we repeated that we would like to wait to see if we had room for cake. He asked again what we wanted and said he would bring them after the tart...for the 3rd time we repeated that we would like to wait. The whole conversation was odd and weird and we felt quite uncomfortable. The tart was very unamazing sadly. Won't be going back

The most welcoming host and staff. Very quaint eclectic wee tea room with, of course, a huge hame made Clootie Dumpling. We, however, opted for the scones that could not have been any fresher or tastier. The tea came with a timer to select your perfect cuppa and bone china cup. Very clean and well presented toilet area too.

This is a hidden gem in Perthshire - and the couple who runs the Clootie Dumpling Cafe knows how to deliver great and delicious home bake. With real ambience, very friendly and efficient service this is a place run by people who are passionate about what they do (a lot of trendy independent cafes in the cities, yes Edinburgh, could learn from here). This place adds greatly to the character and charm of Dunkeld and the beautiful nature around, and it is quality places like this that attract more quality shops and restaurants; it shows when you walk around the historic town. This cafe is not a lunch place, nor does it claim to be, but you can get a nice homemade soup or delicious tart before you indulge in a great variety of fresh homemade delicious scones and cakes. All served with freshly brewed quality teas and coffees, a choice of small (for kids) or a bigger mug of hot chocolate with proper cream of course and/or marshmallows. Served flawlessly on pretty china and by the friendly owners who welcome you as a special guest. What a great and charming little business you have built here - and you should be applauded adding so much value to the Scottish countryside! Go - and take someone who deserves a special experience out in beautiful Perthshire.

This is a great spot for a coffee or light meal after a walk along the river bank. The decor reflects the area with beautiful old family and other photos. Tables are well spaced and were scrupulously clean. We enjoyed a cappuccino (him) and tea for me along with a shared piece of delicious ginger cake. The location, the restaurant, the staff and the food are all excellent. My partner and I had a truly wonderful Sunday lunch and each dish (cheese souffle, John Dory and blueberry pana cotta) worthy of 10 out of 10. scores. My only concern is that the 25% increase in the price may deter future customers.
