The best restaurants serving British food in Central Scotland

Phenomenal new menu at Mitchell's, shared a few dishes with my partner and received excellent service from Olivia. The little cocktails in teapots are a must try and the bartender Ryan poured them perfectly, We'll definitely be back soon!

Came in for a bra fitting - able to book online which was nice and easy. Very busy department but a lovely woman named Isobel helped me. Spent about an hour helping me with styles and sizes - can't praise her enough!! Great service

Great atmosphere to enjoy the sports! The 3 small plate deal is always a win especially the katsu fries!

I chose the Chicken Fajitas which was essentially a huge plate of carrots and potatoes served as a filler to make up for the lack of meat.. Ridiculous prices for such a stingy portion of meat. There was litterally 3 tiny strips of meat drowned in a plate of sauce and peppers. I also think its also really cheeky to charge you an extra £6 for your dips and cheese which should be included for the price. It was the strangest concoction of food and the worst Fajittas I've ever had in my life. The only reason I'm giving you 1 star is because my eyesight will be 20/20 and ill be able to see in the dark after the mountain of carrots I just consumed.

Scott and the team haven't disappointed with a menu with regular favourites plus specials, whether seated inside or outside on the deck. A great selection of ales and lagers as well as wine and spirits.

So disappointing! Went for a birthday meal with my wife two sons and daughter. Ordered ribeye steak medium done. It arrived overcooked, dry and tasteless. First time I have ever sent a meal back. They were very good and without hesitation took it away and got a fresh. I kid you not it was no better, so much so that I couldn’t eat it. Never again will I go to the dormay what a disappoint!

Éramos una fiesta de seis para el almuerzo. Todo fue excelente. Personal encantador y servicial, muy buena comida, especialmente el venado rosa y un ambiente agradable.

Go most Saturdays for breakfast which is really good. Staff are amazing.

Stayed 4 nights in Scotland and found ourselves here for 3 of them. Outside terrace beautiful in the sun with a stunning view of the Main Street. Servers very friendly. Bar is dog friendly too which is great for when it got a bit nippy outside. We ate in the bar one of the nights and the food was delicious, very fresh and sizeable portions.

Solo había planeado venir a tomar un café y para leer por un tiempo, me hicieron muy bienvenido por Ruth, Nina y Lachlan que fueron todos muy atentos durante todo mi tiempo aquí. El colgante tiene un montón de mesas y un montón de espacio, pero se mantiene en la sensación acogedora con los muebles de madera y estantes que te rodean, me senté en la parte trasera bajo una claraboya preciosa, perfecto para la lectura. Después de revisar el menú no podía decidir qué tomar, ya que todo sonaba genial, Ruth, la dueña, me recomendó que probara el sándwich de pollo cajún caliente abierto. Fue perfecto. Claramente todo había sido preparado fresco, de hecho pude ver que estaba siendo preparado detrás del mostrador así que sé que lo era. Incluso me dieron una porción de papas fritas de cortesía, lo que me hizo sentir aún más bienvenido. En general una sensación encantadora, perfecto para un almuerzo reconfortante o un café y pastel tranquilo. Otros clientes a mi alrededor tenían la comida del desayuno, que también se veía muy bien. No podría recomendar este lugar más, estoy deseando volver a probar la remolacha wellington desde el menú festivo! Gracias Ruth, Nina y Lachlan!

As the season narrows, it’s appropriate to say thank you before they have their very well deserved break in January & February. I have been a regular in the restaurant all summer and can’t recommend higher than 5 stars, or I would. Margaret and her team offer the warmest of welcomes, the most special part of that is the authenticity behind it. She has picked the most customer centric team who greet you with a smile, serve fantastic food and represent the castle to the highest possible standard. Thank you and I look forward to next year.
