First time visiting since change of ownership. Went in to purchase take away filled rolls. Not impressed at all. The quality of the fillings has reduced considerably. My ham salad roll consisted on one slice of waver thin ham so more of a salad roll. For the price I paid I will never return.

The Pend serves really delicious ( and healthy) salads. Their soups are also very tasty, and sometimes unusual and interesting. Definitely recommended for a light lunch.

Always like to pop in here for lunch when visiting Stirling. Very friendly welcoming staff and good food. I especially like the garlic chicken salad dish then struggle to choose a cake/ tray bake afterwards as so many to choose from. Would recommend trying at least once.

A little hidden place, nice, genuine and welcoming. The food is not exceptional but honest, still in line with the price. Friendly and helpful staff. Good for an unpretentious break in a non-touristy place.

I've been here many times but never knew the name! It was always "the one in the courtyard". Why so many times? CONSISTENCY. Their soups and sandwiches are always so very good and their bakes are perfect. Love their coffee as well. I'll return again and again.

The Pend is of my favourite place for coffee/brunch/lunch in central Scotland. The home baking is consistently fabulous and the scones are absolutely delicious, especially warm, fresh from the oven! The staff are helpful and nothing’s ever too much bother.

We waited over 30 mins for the worst breakfast I have had the misfortune to attempt to eat, had to leave it as it was frankly uneddable. Cold soggy toast hard poached eggs and overcooked blackpudding, my husband had a very chewy toasty with over powering salt and vinegar crisps and limp salad again uneddable. Out coffees were well gone by the time food came. So all in all very disappointing not recommended. And wepaid in full .

We stop here for coffee and a bite to eat quite often. Normally superb food and great service. However, we visited on 3rd Jan and while there were many more staff than customers, service was slow to the point of being poor I ordered pea and ham soup and was served with a bowl of tasteless green sludge - it looked like a bowl of blended peas, I never found much in the way of ham and what I did find seemed to be some chopped pieces of sliced ham. My wife ordered spicy something or other soup, we swapped, the spicy soup was anything but and my wife never ate much of the green sludge either. Very disappointing compared to normal, I would go as far as to say, had this been my first visit to the Pend, it would have been my last.

Went for coffee here.the selection of cakes is quite poor. Opted for a scone which tastes exactly like the ones I buy in Waitrose. The jam was of an indeterminate flavour of which sweet was all I could detect. I asked what type of fruit it was and was told all different types . …….not good. Could see In the fridge boxes of ready made quiches and other items. Not really inspiring. The prices in this cafe are higher than others I assumed because the quality was high and home made , but not so, don’t think I will recommend ,it looks better than it is.

Mediocre coffee. Pastries/ cakes far too sweet and don’t look as if they are home baked. My wife had a scone which looked like it had been bought from a local supermarket. She also couldn’t get a flavour for the preserve which was served with it, as to whether it was strawberry, raspberry or something else. She was told by a member of staff who seemed clueless that they mix various jams together. In any case it was a red tasteless blob. Chicken Caesar salad ok but expensive. There are many cafes in Stirling that are good however this is not one of them. Avoid.

Arrived 10:38 Took till 11:03 to get breakfast, by that time had drank my tea. Forced to order an orange juice. Ordered a Square sausage for the dog and that didn’t arrive till 11:10 The hollandaise sauce wa cold. There were 6 staff, all very pleasant. It appeared only two cooking. Recommend cooking your poached eggs ahead and putting in ice and refrigerating. These can be dropped in boiling water when required to heat through. You will serve people much quicker. I wasn’t told there would be a wait. A subsequent table was told a 30 minute wait.

Management and staff required to be better organised and trained, yelling from behind the counter for waiting staff to clean tables, take orders and place menu on tables. When our order did arrive 25mins after placing the order it was nice but not special and not worth £17.14 which included 20% vat. Nothing to dry your hsnds in either toilet, reported this due to present day circumstances, staff were already aware and replied “Would get round to it when they had time”. Not good enough and won’t be back and Managet needs to turn dow her tone,

The "posh bacon roll" is an absolute must and very filling as it is served with a salad, I also had a bowl of soup with it as I didn't realise how filling the bacon roll would be.

Comemos aquí a menudo. Sin embargo, en nuestra última visita, la sopa se sirvió en un tazón que tenía tres papas fritas en el borde. Cuando pedí otro tazón, la camarera dijo que era el último. Two nights staying in the hotel this restaurant is attached to, so two nights eating here! Firstly on the way we tried to phone to ensure we got a table, the phone rang and rang but was unanswered, tried for over an hour. Mentioned it when got here “we were too busy”. First nights meal was ok but noted the menu was “tricky” bit precocious if anything and I actually said to person with me that I hoped it would be different menu next night. No it wasn’t so then I opted for the trusty steak with £11.95 surcharge!! If there is going to be a surcharge of that magnitude the dish needs to be good, it wasn’t in fact it was atrocious, tough, badly cooked and presented pathetically. The wait for some mustard just added to the frustration. Unfortunately I like staying at this hotel so no doubt will have to eat here again…..although I’d rather not, Hilton it’s time for a change please
