We stayed locally and walked 30 mins to this restaurant. It’s a beautiful spot with great views. Unfortunately from the second we walked in, we knew our experience had peaked at the view. The staff- although pleasant, need hospitality training immediately. It was not busy and it took 2 hours for us to get our 2 courses. We had to prompt them for our mains. The food was below average, but after walking all day and there literally being nothing else in walking distance, had no other choice but to accept it and move on. The soup was tasteless, the scampi was overcooked, also tasteless with very thick dry chips. My partner had the steak, supposed to be rare but was overcooked. Having eaten at lots of places, this is hands down the worst we’ve had ever. The manager accepted our feedback and gave us a discount which was good but we would rather of had a decent meal on our Easter weekend break. Next time we’ll just get a taxi into Oban.

Awful experience. Barstaff were surly, and the regulars were rude and argumentative. I shan't be going back in a hurry!

Recommended for friends, family and work stopover. Comfortable with good food and best of all very quiet. We are a group of pilots who landed our small aircraft on the Air strip at the front of the hotel and were treated very well by the proprietor and his staff. Thank you for a lovely visit.

Rector's Cafe a great place to go and study. I like their coffee and pastry options and is in a great location in St Andrews.

We stayed in Moulin for the week and went here a couple of times. Lovely to sit outside in the sun with a beer, good umbrellas in case it rains too! Food quite good, Cullen skink excellent, veggie haggis available and some vegan options. Good beer made at brewery over the road. Nice atmosphere inside- proper country pub.

Very friendly service, sadly however the "famous" big boy breakfast was rather small and disappointing and a little over priced for what was presented... it includes a cup of tea but if you want an alternative hot drink like a black coffee it's extra.!!. The whole thing was made up of cheap basic items and the beans came in a sad little plastic pot.. the toast was the only good thing about it. Unfortunately I don't see a repeat visit. Sorry...

AVOID ordering from there! cheesecake came frozen and was advised to keep it I'm freezer till this morning and take out to defrost. it's been 9 hours and still frozen in the middle, has the taste of frostbite so clearly been in the freezer uncovered for a long time. even though its still half frozen it's completely falling apart with toppings sliding of the cake and the topping have a horrible taste to them! also the water coming off it from being frozen has soaked the plate completely and made the bottom soggy! changed the plate 3 times and still soaking everything. very disappointed paid £27 for a tiny cheesecake totally diffrent size to what advised in the website. when ordered had no confirmation from them what so ever we emailed, called, text just to get a reply from them days later this is paid for a birthday and very disappointed!

We detoured on our way home today for some Ice Cream. The staff are really friendly, it's a family run place and the Dad who makes the ice cream said hello. Ice cream was really tasty, we bought two tubs of 2 scoops for £9. Some might think this is expensive, but you get what you pay for. We will visit again next time we are in the area.

Hotel really needs updating. Room we were in very shabby and cold. Tiled coming off wall in bathroom at bath area. Couldn't watch the tv cause it kept flickering and losing reception. Must smelling room. Nightclub blasting away till 2am. No parking available on site but they're is a place across the road that the hotel gets a discpunted rate for. Sorry to say only good thing is the location of this hotel. Far too pricy for what is been given, will be avoiding next time

Visited here today for a meal. It’s looks amazing and is in such a beautiful location. The venue is spotless and decorated to a very high standard. Everything you looked at just seemed to fit and look good. When we arrived and asked for a table we were sent to Bobby’s then we got there we were then sent back to the restaurant. We again asked for a table and was stood here for a good couple of minutes whilst the member of staff just looked at her computer screen saying nothing to us. Then being placed at what must have been a walk way for the staff I got knocked into 3 times by staff whilst sat down. We ordered the food and 2 cokes asking that one of the cokes be placed into an empty glass (no ice or limes etc)only to be brought a glass with ice and lime, again we said an empty glass please a minute later a glass with lemon was brought. The food was fromThe point of order was on our table within 4 minutes. I ordered steak and sausage pie and my partner ordered chicken with haggis and veg. Both came with mash this was microwave mash the veg was not good at all but the chicken and the pie was quite nice. The gravy for the pie was amazing. The staff I felt were trying too hard and I lost count of the amount of times our table was visited different members of staff . Would I visit here again? No Would I recommend this place sadly not. I strongly believe in first impressions and my whole visit today just did not do it for me.

Place is looking tired and having replaced the Sainsbury's cafe with a coffee shop is such a shame

No breakfast or brunch menu when I gave it a go. £5 for a breakfast roll with one choice. £2 for an additional choice meaning £7 for a bacon and egg roll (except... They won't do you an egg.) Also no Lorne. Went for the link sausage roll and it comes with butter and sauce on the side, so if you want butter you have to dismantle the roll to get the butter on. Coffee wasn't bad but the quality of both the food and the coffee is very average considering the upmarket image they're trying to present. I wouldn't go back, no redeeming features except for its reputation.
