We detoured on our way home today for some Ice Cream. The staff are really friendly, it's a family run place and the Dad who makes the ice cream said hello. Ice cream was really tasty, we bought two tubs of 2 scoops for £9. Some might think this is expensive, but you get what you pay for. We will visit again next time we are in the area.

I asked one of the shop assistants if they stocked a Spanish wine called Rippa Dorii and showed her a picture of the bottle on my phone. The shop assistant said she would ask one of the owners to speak to me. A gentleman came and asked if he could help. I showed him the picture of the wine on my phone. He said you can't buy that wine anywhere in this country. He then asked how much I wanted to spend and I said £15 a bottle. He just laughed and showed me some wines he would recommend that started at £28 a bottle. I told him that I had bought the Rippa Dorii wine in Aitken's in Dundee several times before and once the previous month and it was about half the price he had quoted. He then said he was very busy and quickly left. When I got back to my car I checked Aitken's website and it showed the Rippa Dorii wine was £14.50 a bottle and they had more than 25 in stock.

People think it’s expensive … it’s not, it simply doesn’t stock the common and cheaper varieties of wines and spirits. If you shop around the £8 a bottle mark you’ll be disappointed. If you tend to shop £20 and upwards you’ll find great wines. Price wise a bottle of Othello from the Napa Valley was £48 and a case online from a specialist is £500 for 12 so the same price or close enough. The rest of the shop is pretty great … great spirits, crackers, olives, pate, gelato … everything you need for a carpet picnic in front of a good movie. I won’t be going anywhere else as other than Edinburgh this is the best place for miles around 🥰

Luvians undoubtedly has a fantastic if massively overpriced (compared to nearby Aitkens and Majestic stores) fine wines and booze selection but with that you get the worst kind of service. Ask the taciturn sulky father or son who run this shop for advice on any wine under 40 quid and you'll be treated like you came in on someone's shoe. With different management and a reordering and repricing of stock this could be a gem. But then maybe the Tory farmers of St. Andrews and Cupar like their liquor with a side order of snobbishness.

It's not often a shop goes out of their way to help but I was so impressed with the service and help provided by Luvians. I live far away from a close friend who is local to the shop- the shop are hand delivering a bottle of wine to her door to help her celebrate. I so appreciate their help and service and would highly recommend. A brilliant shop!

Always drove past on way to and from St Andrews but we stopped off this time for an ice cream. A wide and varied selection of ice cream and sorbet which went down very well. There is also a well stocked wine shop and deli area. We'll definitely be back for more

This place is a hidden gem. It is expensive but has really tasty and very good quality stuff. The ice cream was lush as well.

Walking into Luvian 's is a guilty pleasure with a huge selection of top quality wines and spirits . A great cheese counter and their own brand of ice cream flavours. The deli will make up sandwiches and rolls as needed .The cold meat range is mouth watering . A sister shop is in St Andrews

Went for steak night but extremely disappointed. Asked for medium steak but was more rare.Few soggy chips, hard peas and two underdone soggy onion rings. No salad as advertsed. Food was also cold. Asked for a prosecco and was told had no cold ones . Was given small one off top shelf behind bar but when I opened it it was completely flat and very yellow so I think it must have been on the shelf a long while! Lady opened big bottle which again came from top shelf so was not cold but was bubbly. Can't believe there was no bottles in wine fridge. Sticky toffee pudding was good though. Seeing as there was just one other couple in the restaurant there really was no excuse for steak meal being so poor as kitchen not rushed. Won't be rushing back!!!

What a venue !! Charming with a historical room to be seen to be believed (clipper room) ! I cannot say enough about the owners and staff who made me feel welcomed and could not do enough ! I was there for a music gig with friends and the music room venue was brilliant , atmospheric and intimate ! The hotel is in a lovely location with historical sites , coastal walks and a golf course nearby.

When the weather turns cold, shops closed, you don’t want a restaurant, just a cuppa, Alexander and George will make you welcome. Enticed by the chips! Feel much better now. Thanks guys!

Having always enjoyed meals at The Doll’s House we imagined this was a mere name change, and were drawn in by the offer of a reasonably priced set menu all day Wednesday and Thursday. Inside the decor was smart enough and the waitress pleasant. However they were unaware of the set menu offer clearly advertised outside, and then said they’d still put our meal through at that price so long as we didn’t order anything expensive ! This wasn’t easy as five dishes were already sold out by 7.30, leaving little choice. The soups were ok, as was my deer, but my wife’s ratatouille was the most ridiculous item I’ve ever seen offered as main dish- three slices of undercooked courgette, a few tomatoes swimming in a watery sauce. We skipped desserts and were presented with a bill of £72, the manager having forgotten her promise. On appeal she applied a discount, but £58 was still very expensive for an experience that could charitably be described as poor. I’d steer well clear - there is no shortage of places to eat in St Andrews.
