We stayed in Moulin for the week and went here a couple of times. Lovely to sit outside in the sun with a beer, good umbrellas in case it rains too! Food quite good, Cullen skink excellent, veggie haggis available and some vegan options. Good beer made at brewery over the road. Nice atmosphere inside- proper country pub.

I hosted my 70th birthday lunch here on Sunday with 24 guests. Organising it was effortless due to the help of the very friendly and highly professional experienced Gill who guided me through everything. On the day the venue, the food, the service were all fantastic. We weren’t rushed at all and I was able to relax and enjoy the day knowing everything was being taken care of. Would recommend it to anyone looking for somewhere for a family gathering. Five stars well deserved.

Both had the gourmet Angus steakburger - was dreadful bun was stale on mine both burgers were cold when you cut into this oozed with grease cheese slice was dried up and most unappetising. I ate a couple of mouthfuls and gave up.The lovely waiter came over to ask if there was a problem explained the above to him . He apologised and said would tell the chef. Know one came out. When we asked for the bill my burger was on it and I advised I was not prepared to pay for this and reiterated again why.He said would get someone. A female came out and barked at me she was not deducting this as was nothing wrong with this. She had seen the meal going out ? Bun was not stale came out of same packet as my friends. I again went through my complaint again but she was most arrogant and rude. What a manner for front of house, the waiter looked most embarrassed standing behind her. Then said as a gesture would deduct the wine. Our taxi was outside and worried it would depart since we had not gone out for it -so reluctantly agreed. The revised bill appeared we had a bottle of red plus a small glass each. She had deducted one small glass! Avoid this place. Maybe she is all smiles and charm for foreign visitors but sadly not two Scottish ladies.

I’ve been coming to this pub for nearly 40 years, thought I’d pop in for a few drinks on Christmas Eve , on arrival at 9 I was told we’ll be shutting in 30 minutes. The guys attitude was nothing short of rude , aggressive and condescending. Just before 10 he stood over our table insisting that we drink up , crap service!!!!

We stopped in for dinner after touring the Blair Athol Distillery. We had been driving most of the day and were still headed to Glasgow after dinner. All three meals were delicious and the service was great despite the bar being busy. We definitely plan on returning next time we are in the area!

Lovely little town in Scotland, and the pub in the hotel looks aesthetically brilliant with prompt and attentive service. Unfortunately the food is average at best, the fisherman’s platter in particular would have not been out of place at a budget, national pub chain… so much less than we expected from an independent hotel/ pub

We visited here as we had been before years ago. As remembered the food was excellent. We had Haggis, Neeps and Tatties, apple crumble and sticky toffee pudding. Great range of beers. The service was just the best. Every member of staff was attentive, efficient and happy in their job. We will definitely be back before the end of our trip.

We stopped off here after a lovely scenic walk in the local area. A old traditional bar with a great selection of beers, wines and spirits. The menu was good too, however we had already eaten, so just opted for a couple of drinks. Staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. A great mix of locals and visitors which added to the relaxed atmosphere. A lovely place to enjoy a relaxing drink. Will definitely return

Great place to stay! We opted for the self catering cottage, Mcpherson's Cottage which is owned by the Moulin Hotel, and just across the road from the hotel. The food in the hotel is wholesome and good pub grub. Moulin is only ten minutes walk from the centre of Pitlochry, but a lot quieter, and a pretty wee village. There is a local bus, but we didn't use it.

Visited here a few times, over the last couple of weeks and it didn't disappoint on any occasion. Such a great traditional style old pub, tastefully decorated and amazing log fires. Very dog friendly. Great selection of both food and drinks at reasonable prices. They have kept with 'Table Service ' but it does work here. The staff we encountered were very friendly, welcoming, knowledgeable and hardworking. In my opinion, its the best pub in the Pitlochry area, both for atmosphere and value.

We travelled as a family of 4 adults from Northern Ireland for our first holiday since pre-lockdown. As soon as we knew the hotel was open again after lockdown, I contacted them regarding rooms and received very helpful guidance regarding our specific room requirements - one superior double and one superior twin - from both Clara and Gill. It has been a few years since my husband and I last actually stayed here but we had been in for evening meals when visiting the area last year. At check-in we received information about the safety measures in place for room cleaning and the ‘new’ breakfast routine, most impressive. Our rooms were exactly what we had asked for. We ate in the hotel on our first night, a restricted menu, but great quality, and then in Pitlochry for a couple of nights, and returned to drink in the public area of the hotel every night. The weather was lovely and it was so enjoyable to sit outside on the balmy nights in the lovely outdoor seating area at the front of the the hotel every night. The flower displays were stunning and the area was immaculate. We had a fantastic 3 night stay and all of us where impressed by the friendly nature of all the staff and the cleanliness of the hotel, it’s rooms and it’s public areas. Social distancing measures where in place, trace forms handed out and the staff wore masks. Sanitisers were placed out for public use. The breakfast was beautiful and cooked to everyone’s individual requirements, special mention to the breakfast chef for those lovely poached eggs. The Moulin Inn Hotel and Pitlochry are open for business and visitors are very welcome. Thank you Gill, Bridget and Neil for making our family holiday so memorable. The McCloys.

This pub which makes its own beer always has a great atmosphere and I try and visit it every time I pass through Pitlochry. A bity out the way but well worth climbing up the hill both for the beer and the food. The bar is is always full until the dog walkers actually walk home. The food/restaurant area is also busy but worth hanging around, either in the bar or outside, until a table becomes available. Service is a bit stretched but who wants to rush anyway as it is cheerfully given.

Went here for lunch to celebrate my Dads Birthday. From the outside the place looked beautiful with brightly coloured hanging baskets. Unfortunately when we went inside it wasn’t as nice. There was a foul smell when we entered the restaurant. The floors were dirty and the tables sticky. We went to read the menu and it was covered in sauce and juice. It had just opened for the day so there was no excuse for it to be so dirty. We had already ordered drinks by this stage so had them and left due to the cleanliness.

Room was dated, shabby and not too clean. Someone else's underwear left in one of the drawers. Difficult to access power points for hairdryer. Had a meal in hotel, BIG mistake. 3 times my husband tried to order food from bar only to be told, "there's none of that left" I ended up with a prawn cocktail starter - lots of salad and 14 little prawns, yes I actually counted them! Chips were cold too. The place was an absolute shambles. Will definitely never go back again. When we checked out we told receptionist about underwear incident, she said "I'll make a note of that" and gave no apology whatsoever. She didn't look like she was very happy at her work and was very unfriendly and inpolite. It was far too expensive for what it was. If you ever visit Pitlochry, please do not stay here as you will be very disappointed.

Almost 5 pounds for a cappuccino for which no order has been taken at first, for which you then have to wait more than 20 minutes, with a spoon and sugar missing and, as a highlight, a 10% service fee appears on the bill? As beautiful as it is in Gleneagles - unfortunately we didn't like it at all...

We were enjoying a nice drink in the beer garden one sunny afternoon, when a youth started shouting & swearing at us because we were English (which was funny in itself because none of us are 100% English). The locals were appalled at his behaviour & the landlord immediately ejected him, however, it cast a shadow on our visit.

Service was quick and the food as always was delicious. Lovely warm welcoming place to eat out and we always choose here when we go for lunch. Great menu lots of choice.

I give up, I really do. Have stopped using the restaurant because the food is pretty poor and the staff are surly at best. This morning I wanted to purchase a food item which they have stocked for years. First young girl I asked couldn't understand what I was asking for, second one said they didn't stock it although she has served me in the past and the third one said it had sold out but they might be getting some in in a couple of weeks. Several other local people have mentioned how rude the staff were. Hospitable is not a word you can use for this place and yet years ago it used to be good on all counts.
