The manager was inconsiderate and very rude. My wife and I visited the Restaurant which was totally empty, we sat at a window seat table for four which they had six of, he came up to us and told us to move to a table for two with no view,I asked him what was the problem with us sitting there, and he replied it was reserved (No Reservation sign on the table) so we moved to the table for two and ordered 2 broccoli soups a diet lemonade and a coffee costing £25:75, we left the restaurant as we found it (Empty), I think this manager needs some hospitality training.

Such a cute spot to stop on our way to Inverness. The best meal I had while in Scotland. Ordered the festive Christmas meal. Turkey and dressing roulade with roasted carrots and parsnips and a lovely gravy. Soooo good. And really good Hot Toddy's on a cold day! Bravo.

Visited with some friends a few days ago for dinner. The restaurant was running a festive menu and it was delicious. A well thought out menu. Something for everyone. I had the mackerel pate for a starter and it was superb. And the duck leg for a main. Incredible. My friends also noted just how good the food was too. The Christmas decorations were put of this world and is worth visiting just for that. Thank you for a wonderful visit See you again soon

This is a lovely wee restaurant with a lot of outside seating available. On a nice day, dining outside would be a lovely experience. There was a reasonably varied menu. Prices are probably slightly on the high side, but our lunch was very enjoyable. Despite the restaurant being busy, service was quick and friendly. For anyone taking a car to the restaurant, the car park is not very big and on a steep slope.

A restaurant on the opposite bank of the river from the center of Pitlochry. Indoor and outside seating, if Scottish weather allows. 😀 Stopped by for food on our way east from Aberfeldy and wasn't disappointed, fantastic service, price proportional to the portion and quality of food. The fish chowder that my wife had was perfect and the wagyu burger that I got was the best I have had in a long time. What a lovely place this is. We booked a nearby hotel and we were desperate to find somewhere else to go dine because the hotel was just awful. They managed to squeeze us in for a last minute booking for 2 people on abusy september weekend. The restaurant is in a lovely situated area of the town. The food was reasonably priced and it was honestly the nicest food. Hats off to the chef! The staff were all lovely and chatty with us. It was clean and cosy. So glad we went and would definetly recommend. 5 stars!

Beautiful setting for a restaurant and hotel, unfortunately as a restaurant the food is poor. Frozen chips and half a slice of fish, not sure what the small portion would’ve been had I ordered that, small poor salad to accompany it too. Definitely won’t be back to eat, I think they might be reliant of tourists so will never need to rely on return visits from customers.

Stopped here for lunch before a matinee at the Theatre next door. Menu is a bit pretentious and overpriced for a riverside pub. Probably right up some people's street but its not for me. Didn't enjoy my light lunch at all and it cost more than the show we were going to see. Having said that on a sunny day it is a prime location and hard to beat, would be nice for a riverside drink.

Lovely place, quaint and welcoming, stayed there on a Sunday night but the restaurant is closed, I suppose it’s in line with the theatre opposite being closed then too so I suppose they wouldn’t have the same volume of custom on a Sunday evening. Our room was really warm and cosy which is a rarely these days in most of the hotels we have stayed in lately, on thing missing from our room was a dressing table where I could’ve sat and did my makeup etc, there could’ve been one put in the corner next to the built in cupboard where there is another easy chair placed, also they could put up a shelf in the lively bathroom so that there is some where to put a visitors toiletries etc, other than that I would say that it’s a really comfortable place to stay and the breakfast was absolutely excellent and the lunch was second to none also, we have been here a few times before for pre theatre

We love coming to Pitlochry and this is one of our favourite restaurants especially on a sunny day as it’s situated right on the river with stunning views all around. We stopped in for lunch yesterday, got a table outside and I went in to order drinks and food at the bar. This is when it all went so wrong, the staff are clearly busy so I didn’t mind waiting to give my order, there was one gentleman in front of me. He got his order in and then it was me next or so I thought. The server behind the bar still hadn’t acknowledged me, then she went out from behind the bar sat at a table beside where I was standing, she opened up a laptop and still completely ignored me! No other staff took over behind the bar and I’m still standing waiting. I hate writing a negative review but staff training clearly needs to be done - how difficult would be to say “excuse me I’ll be with you shortly” or something. I actually started to feel embarrassed just standing there and left the premises, my wife and I were very disappointed.

It’s a real shame as we have been a customer for approximately 10 years(only annually as and when we are on holiday). Infact on one occasion we had drinks with the owners and their family. The food was great previously but I cannot comment on this year as we cancelled our booking for Wednesday 14th August. Having had a quick drink on the previous Saturday afternoon and introduced ourselves we booked for the Wednesday evening (minimum spend would have been £250/£300) Having gone for a long walk we had a night cap on the Sunday evening also . Having been for a walk on Monday evening we popped in for a night cap at 21:25 (it is open until 22:00 hours ) there were two gentlemen having a pint , the open sign was still illuminated. We were greeted by a guy who said sorry we are closed! We said we just wanted a nightcap and you are open until 22:00 but it was a definite NO. What was worse is that a young lady who had previously served us and we believe is a family member agreed. A real shame but they are obviously making so much money they don’t need the custom ,repeat customers!!

We booked the restaurant as part of an evening meal on a tour I was leading. We had 20 in our group. The initial booking was done via my company. My only comment is that it took some time for the menu choices to come through. The manager was very helpful as we needed to bring our meal forward so that our coach driver didn't go over his driving hours. So this put the staff under pressure. However, they really pulled the stops out, and considering how busy it was, our meals arrived fairly quickly. The standard was excellent; everyone said they enjoyed their meals. Sadly we had to leave promptly and I never managed to completely finish my dessert, which was very tasty. I am surprised by some of the negative comments; so much so I was expecting a bad experience. Some referred to the cost of drinks. Mine were very cheap- I didn't have any! No one is forcing you to pay the prices that you paid. I wanted to leave a comment as I feel you may be getting a bad rap, which may not be justified. Anyway, we were very happy, and on behalf of the group I apologise for some of the last minute menu choice changes, which you coped with very well. Based on my experience, I would recommend coming back in the future.

We were stuck due to having to check out of an airbnb at an earlier than planned time before a wedding. I happened to call Port-na-Craig to ask if we could pop by for breakfast in between. After explaining our predicament, the gladly informed us that they would be able to accommodate our small group, despite us not being residents and after their breakfast hours. On arrival we were made to feel so welcome. Despite them having a change over between breakfast/lunch service and readying the rooms they accommodated us like royalty. The quality of the produce was exceptional and the presentation of the food equally so. May we once extended our thanks to all of you for making the morning an equally memorable experience to the day. Your kind hospitality, which even included giving the bride a room to get ready will forever be remembered. Port-na-Craig will be the only option we will consider when coming to the area. This sadly never happened as when we were on our way for our evening meal 15 minutes prior to our meal we recieved a phonecall stating through health & safety they had to close due to an issue with gas ! Absolutely disgusted that no follow up email or any form of compensation made what so ever ! Really would not recommend this place at all! The menu was perfect - small but more than enough choice to keep everyone happy, even my fiance who is super picky! The restaurant is in the best location, is tastefully decorated, food is delicious and the staff are delightful. My only complaint is that we discovered the restaurant on the penultimate day of our holiday, I so wish we'd known about it earlier - especially considering the other places we visited in town. I'll start with the single bad point. The restaurant was freezing cold. People had their winter jackets on inside. I have to assume the heating was broke. I spotted a more internal area and asked to be relocated there. It was all uphill from here. Beautifully cooked, high quality rib-eye steaks. They had a golden-brown sear, were perfectly medium-rare and so tender. The chef is clearly skilled. The fries were amazing too, as were the sauces and salad. They have a delicious wine selection too, which I very much enjoyed getting involved with. I'd love to give 5 stars because I loved the meal. But come on guys, if everyone is wearing jackets and it's clearly freezing, we shouldn't have to ask to be seated in the non freezing area.

Visited for drinks after visiting the Dam, which due to the recent wet weather the dam was open and was spectacular to see, the water gushing over. The River Tay was very high and flowing very fast past us as we sat outside in the sunshine, two luvly young ladies serving you after ordering, Very busy as popular with families ( play area opp in front of theatre) dog friendly and visitors to the area. Njoyed our wine and the views. Worth a visit :)

Poor selection on offer here, and prices not really fair for Scotland, more aimed at ripping the tourists off.

Wonderful night spent having my dinner by the river. Whilst the view is stunning , the food and the service and just as good if not better. Super friendly staff happy to help with whatever. The pate is amazing! Can’t wait to come back again 😊

This is a quiet gem with very high standards in all that they do! As you enter, you will be met by the friendly and welcoming proprietor and employees along with a sparklingly clean and inviting cafe. The timeless interior is inline with the immaculate service: prompt, polite, interested, professional and keen to ensure your satisfaction. Brooke, our waitress was efficient and appropriate in her manner, quiet, helpful and accurate. She provided all dishes, tableware and the order confidently, with assurance and, given everything is freshly made, reasonably quick. All the food was freshly prepared to order, with options to customise your choice to your taste. A delicious meal was enjoyed by both my husband and myself- cheese burger and chips with a delightful salad, and I had the farmhouse pate option - a very welcome choice which is rarely available in cafes. The chips were incredible! They must have been triple cooked, so tasty and fluffy inside - the perfect chips! Regretfully, we didn’t manage to try any of the desserts or delightful baking - I know we missed out. Although the menu doesn’t specify particular dietary listings, I believe they will do everything possible to accommodate all requirements. This is a busy place while it retains a restful atmosphere, with very high standards of cuisine, cleanliness, service and genuine care and attention to ensure customer satisfaction. Just when you need an honest, satisfying lunch with second-to-none service, a little gem like this appears. Don’t miss it. Blairgowrie has always been a favourite place for me to stop and explore, discovering this cafe has now provided an added attraction which will tempt me back more often. Excellent food, fresh, quick with time to chat and relax throughout your visit with excellent service. Brooke and the owner have created a littte magic here - enjoy! Thank you and we will be back.

Hugely disappointing. My wife and I made a reservation at the Cairns Restaurant for the Sri-Lankan Curry night event. Just a little date night. The head chef is Sri-Lankan, so despite the very low-priced set menu, we hoped for some authentic, well prepared food, good service, and a nice setting. We understood Cairns was not fine dining, and certainly were not expecting that as we knew Murrayshall Country Estate has another fine dining restaurant (Eolas). An all-around bad dining experience, but unfortunately, surprisingly so. Left at 1 hour. Good: Price. Curry flavour. Polite, attentive staff. Not great: Restaurant felt tired and lacking character. 3 different servers asked to take drinks order within 5 minutes. Food presentation was lacklustre, particularly the sides. All food came out together within 10 minutes of arrival, which made the meal feel quite hurried (suggest poppadoms and chutneys first, at least). Bad: Asked if we were finished... 30 minutes after arriving, because we stopped eating for a moment whilst enjoying some conversation. Inexcusable: Raw, inedible handmade naan breads. Extremely overcooked rice. No attempt to rectify or respond to feedback.

Nice pub, friendly atmosphere. A mix of people in pub, locals and visitors to town. Quite busy for a Monday evening I thought. 3 couples came in for food plus me. The burger was nice but chips the really thin McDonald's type. Also not any green vegetables on plate only tiny portion of coleslaw. I prefer chunky chips made with real potato and decent portion of green vegetables.

Visiting family in Perth and order a takeaway for Saturday night. The fish and chicken pakora’s and spicy onions were lovely. We ordered 3 main courses and all were tasteless, unappealing to the eye and unenjoyable.
