Overall disappointing. The prawn cocktail was gorgeous at £17 for a starter as we're the starter portion of scallops however at £17 for Famous fish and chips it was very poor. Not a large piece of fish and plate was filled with frozen French fries. Not appealing at all. It is not cheap to eat here and the seafood was lovely but overpriced.

went down today for a spot of lunch and some strawberry picking. we had a fantastic time at the farm! Inside the cafe looks lovely, they have a very warm and welcoming atmosphere. the menu was great with something for everyone, we liked how there was an option for a light bite or a more substational meal. I had the Brisket Panini special and my partner had the pulled pork burger, both were a perfect size and incredibly tasty. We were then offered desserts, we had an affogato and the strawberry pancake stack, both of which looked and tasted amazing! The service was top notch and every staff member was really informative and friendly, they made us feel very welcome during our time here. After lunch we went strawberry picking in the fields which was a great time and a really nice way to spend the day. we will definitely be back and would 100 percent reccomend anyone to try it out! ❤️

Went for Breakfast after hearing good things about it, we were not disappointed, the food was lovely and the coffee tasty and plentiful. The staff were really friendly and the cafe itself has retained much of its original style with wooden booths and horseshoe counter. A great place for breakfast or even just a coffee.

How this hotel has the ratings it has is beyond my understanding. Arrived to book in and met with a dark, damp smelling entrance. One light on in the bar area where a very unhappy employee was clearing up from previous staff (allegedly the managers!) shift. Advised that none of the hotel rooms had been prepared and she needed time to do so. We were unable to get food at the hotel as there was nothing. Info on site says meals available. Room was freezing cold, blinds failed, windows drafty, had to ask for towels for shower. Excuse for a bed was one of the most uncomfortable I've ever experienced. The wooden frame squeaked even when moving the quilt!! We had booked for 3 nights which we cut short. Breakfast was an absolute joke, make your own tea and toast with out of date milk, and a jar of cheap jam. An experience not for repeating!

We visited last night as a big group, 8 adults and 8 children. From when we booked the service was excellent, prompt, friendly replies and we preordered with ease. We arrived and were seated quickly and drinks orders taken. Our waiter was exceptional, nothing was a hassle and he was brilliant with the kids. The food came quickly and again I would say was fantastic. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience overall was excellent. I would 100% return and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

We had booked ahead for the "National Pie Week" special offer: we would have preferred to go for dinner, but no tables were available then, so we opted for lunch. We arrived a little early, but received a pleasant welcome and were shown to our table in the small restaurant, which was about half full. To get my little gripes out of the way first: service was initially a bit patchy, with one person trying to deal with all of the tables, so we waited a while before we were able to order drinks, then we were told that we would soon be shown the specials board, but when another server appeared to take our order we still hadn't seen it; and, despite having ordered the beef & ale pie in advance, we were told it would be put in the oven once we had pointed out that it was ordered, and told that it takes 45 minutes to bake, so we were served our pre-ordered main course one hour after we arrived. I understand that it may be too risky to put the pie in the oven before we have turned up, but it could have been put in as soon as we "checked in". Since this was lunch, we hadn't planned to have a starter, but realising it was going to be a while until our main, I opted for a starter from the specials board, of mussels in a curry dressing, on sourdough bread, which was delicious, and we had some bread (again, sourdough: some nice fresh, cruchy-crusted white bread would have been nice!). When our main did come, it was very good. One large pie between two, with accompanying greens. The suet pastry was crisp on the outside and chewy on the inside, with a heavy hard crust, and the pie was well-fulled with tender meat and lovely gravy. It was a generous portion for two, and would be good value at normal prices, so it was a bargain at the special offer price. To finish off, we shared a Rhubarb Pavlova, which was again a generous portion and very tasty. There is a good selection of drinks, including draught beers and low/zero-alcohol beers, and a good wine list with options for ordering by the glass. carafe or bottle. Although the staff were busy, they were cheerful, friendly and helpful. The restaurant is a pleasant area and it had a nice, quiet atmosphere, with unobtrusive background music. We hope to go back, but maybe next time we will order something with a shorter delivery time!

Blown away by the service! Just simple ,fresh food cooked beautifully. The two ladies who were hosting, treated everyone like we had walked into their home. So kind friendly and, despite there being 7 of us, we're efficient, fast and seemed so happy to serve us all. We had mostly sandwiches but I had a delicious vegan chick pea masala and my daughter had a macaroni cheese both were devoured. Great baking too, would have loved to see a vegan cake choice but such is life. Thank you,we will be back and recommending!

We took our hound family for dinner and received a warm welcome. It was a semi-formal environment and delicious food. They also had a kids menu (~£7.50 for kids mains). Booking is essential and they're not open every evening. Would definitely visit again. Menu photos attached, although I believe that the menu does change quite regularly.

We just came out of curiosity really. We looked around the shop which is very good and purchased a few items. We then had some very interesting coffees and would have bought some food if we hadn't long had breakfast. We particularly commend our waitress Romie who was a breath of fresh air with her bright personality.

6 of us went in for a bar lunch today at 12:15pm, we ordered 2 tuna, mayo and mozzarella panini's, 3 steak and onion paninis, 3 coffees, soft drinks and a child's meal of macaroni cheese and chips. By 12:50 we were still waiting for the food and the coffees were finished. The child's meal arrived which was only lukewarm so was returned to be heated up. The tuna paninis eventually arrived and we were told the steak and onions was being cooked - we had finished the tuna paninis before the steak ones finally arrived. There was no mention on the menu of the steak being in a marinade and one of the ladies found it tasted vinegary plus she found a lemon pip on her steak. We finally finished our meal at 1:40 but none of us really enjoyed it because of the lengthy wait - and the way the food came in dribs and drabs. To be fair, the young man who served us was pleasant and very apologetic, he gave us refills of our coffee on the house and didn't charge for the steak and onion panini which had the lemon pip in it but the whole experience left us feeling we won't be going back

This is a quiet gem with very high standards in all that they do! As you enter, you will be met by the friendly and welcoming proprietor and employees along with a sparklingly clean and inviting cafe. The timeless interior is inline with the immaculate service: prompt, polite, interested, professional and keen to ensure your satisfaction. Brooke, our waitress was efficient and appropriate in her manner, quiet, helpful and accurate. She provided all dishes, tableware and the order confidently, with assurance and, given everything is freshly made, reasonably quick. All the food was freshly prepared to order, with options to customise your choice to your taste. A delicious meal was enjoyed by both my husband and myself- cheese burger and chips with a delightful salad, and I had the farmhouse pate option - a very welcome choice which is rarely available in cafes. The chips were incredible! They must have been triple cooked, so tasty and fluffy inside - the perfect chips! Regretfully, we didn’t manage to try any of the desserts or delightful baking - I know we missed out. Although the menu doesn’t specify particular dietary listings, I believe they will do everything possible to accommodate all requirements. This is a busy place while it retains a restful atmosphere, with very high standards of cuisine, cleanliness, service and genuine care and attention to ensure customer satisfaction. Just when you need an honest, satisfying lunch with second-to-none service, a little gem like this appears. Don’t miss it. Blairgowrie has always been a favourite place for me to stop and explore, discovering this cafe has now provided an added attraction which will tempt me back more often. Excellent food, fresh, quick with time to chat and relax throughout your visit with excellent service. Brooke and the owner have created a littte magic here - enjoy! Thank you and we will be back.
