We visited last night as a big group, 8 adults and 8 children. From when we booked the service was excellent, prompt, friendly replies and we preordered with ease. We arrived and were seated quickly and drinks orders taken. Our waiter was exceptional, nothing was a hassle and he was brilliant with the kids. The food came quickly and again I would say was fantastic. We all thoroughly enjoyed our meal and the experience overall was excellent. I would 100% return and would recommend to anyone visiting the area.

Had a few relaxing days at Crieff Hydro to celebrate our anniversary and chose to enjoy a nice meal in their sister hotel the nearby Murraypark. On arrival found the car park to be in total darkness with high potential for slips and trips but safely made our way to the restaurant. Environment on entry appeared warm and welcoming but shown to our table in a half empty restaurant to find ourselves sited at a small table hard against a column with the similar table adjacent occupied by another couple - not an ideal location for a quiet relaxing meal. I ordered the harissa lamb rump with couscous and my wife chose the balmoral chicken for mains. The lamb was raw, pink and bloody and truly dreadful, the couscous was nicely flavoured. the Balmoral chicken appeared ok, but my wife couldn't finish her meal. We both had the bland house cheesecake with chocolate sauce for desserts. What looked like a restaurant with potential was a real let down - table location and quality of food was dreadful although the serving staff were very pleasant. As it was our anniversary, we did not wish to make a scene so enjoyed as best we could.

Family of four for a special meal out. Two adults and two children. Total bill for three courses with three soft drinks and one alcoholic drink - £136. Nice atmosphere inside. Food on the whole was good with the exception of the dessert and the kids mac’n’cheese (tagliatelle in bland cheese sauce). Three out of four of us made the mistake of ordering the cheesecake of the day - vanilla and butterscotch. The cheesecake had no flavour - genuinely no flavour at all. Very odd. We waited for a good while to speak staff as the restaurant was busy, and mentioned that we believed there had been an ingredient missed out - because there was no taste. Server said they would let the chef know and we were given our bill to settle. No more was said. The cheesecake was over £6 a slice - it should have some flavour 😬 All in all, we’d probably try somewhere else next time we are in the area - or we’d just head there for a quick one course lunch.

We visited the Murraypark for dinner after a hunger-generating day of hillwalking in the local area. Being seated in the sunroom, it was slightly offputting to see the beer garden in a poor state of maintenance and the windows being dirty (complete with evidence of recent birdstrikes). Added to the sad state of the outside view, there was a rather inappropriate musical background being played far too loudly throughout the night. We often felt as if we were eating in a nightclub instead of a restaurant. The menu is basic, with a selection of steaks and a few other pub-grub type alternatives. Sadly, quite a few items on the menu were unavailable on the day we visited. The staff were friendly, well presented and attentive, but were unable to answer questions as to which drinks were available. This perhaps not their fault; as we did discover that the Murraypark has a vast selection of drinks in the bar area. Perhaps there should be a drinks menu provided at each table, alongside the wine list, so staff won't have to try to memorise the entire bar menu. The food was a disappointment. The steak, pancetta and mushroom pie seemed to be lacking any mushrooms at all and the pancetta consisted of tiny little cubes that added no discernible pancetta flavour. The steak in the filling was great, perfectly flaking apart in texture and sitting in a rich and delicious gravy. The pie lid was a disaster. The puff pastry had not puffed at all and resembled a slab of concrete which had to be removed in a single slab and broken into pieces separately. One of our party had the mixed grill and was overall pleased with what they got (save for the liver, which was one of the unavailable items on that day). The rib-eye steak was described to me later as "having been 40% gristle" which is not great when you are selling yourself as a steak joint. The sauces served with the mixed grill and rib-eye had split and were watery. The Murraypark has three stars, and deserves every one of them.

We are just back from the Murraypark Hotel after spending a few days in this very pleasant hotel. We originally wanted to go to the Crieff Hydro but they are no longer dog friendly in the main hotel. We were most impressed by the friendly staff and nothing was too much bother for them all . Our room was very clean and had everything we required including dog bed blanket and dog bowl. We were able to take the dog into the bar with us for our meals. The food was very tasty and well presented. We look forward to going back when the weather is warmer so that we can take advantage of the outdoor beer garden.

We were staying in a self-catering lodge at Crieff Hydro and came for dinner to Murraypark. We were given a table in the bar area as we had our dog with us, but menu is same as main restaurant. Service was very friendly and efficient and every dish was delicious and well presented. Perfectly cooked steak and mixed grill for the carnivores, good choice of dishes for vegetarians (the veggie burgers scored 10/10) and the children's menu was deemed delicious by our 9 and 6 year-olds. Great desserts too! Definitely worth a visit.

Many thanks to Lynne for a warm welcome back and Shannon, Alannah and Zaneta who looked after us so well at dinner. Staying in the area, we thought we'd enjoy a meal at a local pub. When we arrived, the dining room was mostly empty and there were 5 people in the pub (with seating for many more). Rather than welcoming us as we arrived, the young man behind the bar asked if we had reservations, hemmed and hawed, and said we'd have at least a 20 minute wait for service. We didn't feel like moving on, so we took our chances. The young woman who served us was much friendlier and we didn't actually have much of a wait at all. We ordered a selection of starters and a bottle of wine. A couple of the starters were fine, but one was served at room temperature and one, deep fried, was quite greasy and not very flavourful. The hummus was too salty too eat. When we left (the pub was empty other than us, and the dinging room was nowhere near full), we asked the good server why we were given such a frosty welcome, and she told us the kitchen was actually understaffed that night. If only the fellow had just said that, rather than implying that we should have made a reservation, we might not have felt snubbed. Not a good impression.

This hotel is a lovely hotel and handy if you have both dogs and children and want to use the facilities at the Crieff Hydro as this is the sister hotel. The rooms are nice and modern and comfortable. Staff and check in was easy. The restaurant and bar are pleasant and reasonably priced. The food is excellent and a good variety of choice. It is within a 5 minute walk from the Hydro so very handy for all the activities and pool etc. The only downfall we found, which is not really a downfall if you prepare for it, was the breakfasts are freshly cooked and it does take a while for them to come. As we had activities booked most mornings we had to go early after missing out on our first day, due to the long wait for hot breakfasts. The hotel apologised and made us aware that breakfasts are cooked to order and freshly made, which is a plus side these days. We were well looked after in every aspect, from the clean rooms to the bar/restaurant staff and receptionists. We will definitely visit again.

We stayed at this hotel on a family visit for one night. We have previously stayed a few times before and always had a good time. We arrived on the afternoon of the 24th of Oct and had a warm and friendly check in from the lovely gentleman on reception. We then went to our room and found it to be clean and presentable. We had booked in for dinner at 8pm and we were again on arrival to the restaurant given a warm and polite service. Then unfortunately it went down hill... After a wait our starters of soup arrived which was passable but not what we would class as restraunt standards. In fact my family commented on how my homemade soup was so much better. Our mains followed which again the food was just passable. I had ordered peppercorn sauce with my steak... well it was honestly the most vile thing I've ever tasted in my life, it tasted like a chemical and left me after a spoonful feeling really sick and I couldn't get the taste out my mouth. The lovely server asked us if everything was ok and I said in a polite manner that I thought something was wrong with the sauce. She sniffed it and said oh yuck.. yeah there's definitely something wrong that smells horrible. The server kindly took the sauce back to the kitchen. A few moments later she appeared at our table and said.. The chef said I've to tell you there's nothing wrong with the sauce its made in the normal way with brine, thyme, vinegar and other things. The server went to put the sauce back on the table and I politely asked her to take it away as it had a chemical taste and as a result I was feeling very sick. I said to the server I had never heard of peppercorn made of brine and vinegar. The server very kindly took the sauce back to the kitchen where I heard her saying to the kitchen team... She said (meaning me) and then the kitchen staff laughing loudly. We declined dessert and didn't go for breakfast in the morning as we had lost trust in the kitchen staff and what they put in food which wouldn't be stated in the menu. In all my years of working with many high profile chef's I've never come across one so arrogant and self assured. As a result we definitely won't be back or recommend this hotel.

The staff here are more friendly than that at the hydro (hydro staff are nice too) but they were lovely at murraypark. The hydro also offers transport to and from the murraypark for those wanting it. We were seated straight away and ordered the parfait and haggis for starters and steaks for mains. These were all incredible! And I mean incredible. Kids both ordered fish and chips which was a large portion and lovely too. My only issue was with the "fresh" fruit in the kids dessert. There's no way this was fresh and looked like it had been sitting in water for hours. Maybe from the breakfast bar, but definitely not "fresh" as stated on the menu. This is our fourth day of a five day stay at the Murraypark hotel and it has been Superb. The Murraypark is a sister hotel of the much bigger Crieff Hydro hotel which is literally a five minute walk from the Murraypark. Residents at the Murrapark have access to all of the fantastic leisure facilities, restaurants etc at Crieff Hydro which is fantastic. The Murraypark is a small, intimate hotel with a lovely restaurant and one of the cosiest bar's I have ever been in. The log burning fire in the bar really sets the temperature and atmosphere in the well stocked comfortable bar area. I chose the Murraypark for a holiday break wife my wife, 12-year old son and our black Labrador dog and we were all made most welcome from the moment we walked through the door. One of the great strength's of the hotel's appeal is their fantastic staff. Literally nothing is a bother! They have been brilliant at accommodating our varied dietary needs and could not have been more mindful and helpful with this. Our room is comfortable, clean and well maintained and the hotel has a lovely rear garden with seating as well as a seated patio area at the front and ample car parking spaces. We've all thoroughly enjoyed our stay here and would definitely come back again.

Always get good value at this hotel, especially as the Crieff Hydro us nearby and the facilitates there are shared. Great Scottish meals with locally produced food.

Having reviewed Murraypark hotel with a somewhat negative outcome I find the managerial response extremely politically correct, pathetic and poor. How were they ever going to rectify the shortcomings easily??? No other rooms available to swap with, no method or means of chilling wine and beer except with ice at short notice. Present chilling method obviously not up to scratch. Nobody offered to run to corner shop to stock up with orange juice!! Breakfast spoilt full stop as lukewarm and porridge on tap in vat not available. All in all a shambles and rectification was never on the cards on the day and only in response to negativity. Totally patronising response! Really disappointed.

The food we had was simply delicious and made from fresh ingredients sourced locally. We shared the Crown of chicken for two which was served with the most amazing homemade fat chips. The dessert was THE MOST delicious sticky toffee pudding with rich toffee sauce and creamy homemade vanilla ice cream. It was up there with our many experiences of 5* dining in London. I hope they gain the recognition that this head chef and the culinary team deserve. The surroundings are traditional with views to their large back gardens. The waiting staff were very attentive and friendly.

Chips horrible not sure whether reheats or old oil. Gammon steak tough, veg cold. No attention paid to request for something not to be on plate. 45 minute wait for dinner. Pear and blue cheese salad was not attractive to look at without being rude.

Booked in for 2 nights while touring the area and located it easily. Hotel room was right at the top with stunning vista of Strathearn from our main window. Spacious room with attractive ensuite. Able to use all the facilities of nearby Crieff Hydro as a sister hotel. Meals were delicious.

Been to murraypark on previous visits to hydro and always been impressed not so much this time. Pregnant with heart burn so many of starters were ruled out asked if could have bread as starter to join in with friends eating happy to have paid for it told not possible even though some of starters came with it. Friend ask for steak medium was told comes well done!Pasta main course was swimming with oil.Won't be returning it could be go good if focussed on giving pub food experience not trying to be a mix of fine dinning/brasserie/pub!

Nous avons pu tester la nouvelle carte et tout était très bon ; notamment l'agneau. Très bon plat végétarien également.

Very average food and slightly overpriced but excellent service and friendly staff so that made up. It's dog friendly which is great for us and our canine companion and for that I'd recommend it but don't expect too much from the grub or you'll be disappointed!

went here with a family of 8 adults and 5 children - the food was good - portions maybe a bit small - the children's meals were great value at only £3.00 only downside one of the children wanted a small portion of shepherd's pie but was told no cant do this - didnt seem to be too difficult to make a small portion for a child.

Went twice, once for lunch and once for dinner. We chose the hotel as the bar welcomed dogs and both we and our guest had dogs - this was not a problem, our two dogs were not the first there!Service was polite and efficient, for lunch and I had a very nice club sandwich - possibly the nicest I've had. We lingered over our drinks and the atmosphere was relaxed.Dinner was for a treat, we took our dog, other dogs there already, clientele a mix of couples and families. Again made to feel welcome and had a very nice meal from a short but interesting menu. Food was good value and tasty and modern, but not trying too hard - which was nice. Wine list short but effective, great selection of malts and I admit to indulging! Overall, good value and enjoyable - if I was a local, it would be a regular

The hotel is closely linked to the Crieff Hydro that is close by. Guests can have access to many of the Hydro attractions. Parking is very easy.

Stopped here for lunch before booking in at the Hydro. Sat outdoors in the sunshine and ate a very nice bar lunch and a glass of wine. Have stayed here previously and found it very good.

Food very average , potatoes tasted as though they had been overcooked and then reheated. Veg (kale and broccolli) bitter and overcooked, but staff lovely and an ideal place for a family birthday gathering.

Friendly staff, great choice of cider and whisky. Food delicious, rooms spacious, clean and tidy. Dog friendly too. Only gripe was a note in welcome pack in room asking for dogs not to be left in room unattended which is totally acceptable but to be woken up with young children playing on the landing loudly while their parents were having breakfast downstairs not so acceptable. Still this was our second visit and we will be back. Lovely hotel in a lovely location with spa/cinema facilities at their sister hotel not too far away.

We are frequent visitors to Crieff Hydro, when we stayed in the lodges in February 2016 we ate in the Brasserie and have to say we were really disappointed in both the menu and the presentation. On our second visit of the year last weekend we decided to try The Murraypark which is their sister hotel a couple of minutes walk away.I am so glad we did, the food was delicious, the menu offered a lovely selection of dishes to suit everyone. When the dishes arrived they were beautifully presented and piping hot. There was a bit of a mix up with our order but as we were quite happy sitting in the lovely atmosphere of their cosy bar that was not a problem. The waiting staff were lovely especially Callum who has customer service down to a "T". He ensured we were offered the option of the courtesy bus to take us back up to The Hydro, which as it's such a short walk we declined. This is a bit of a double edged review, the food in the Murraypark was so good I have to ask why can't the much larger Crieff Hydro not provide the same standard?Having experienced both I would definitely recommend sampling the dining experience in the Murraypark...

Popped in for something to eat before the Enchanted Forest (which got cancelled 😩) but the silver lining was this chip shop. Straight out the best food from chippy I’ve encountered, and I’m no stranger to a weekly chippy 😂 Not to diminish others more negative experiences - my food doesn’t seem to look the same as some of the photos. I wouldn’t say the staff were friendly, they seemed a bit blunt and just there to get on with the job. The atmosphere could be better, it’s dreary and doesn’t give award winning.

Beautiful hotel, great location to wander round the center. Staff were lovely. The bed was not comfortable, although room was well presented. No details on room service. Breakfast was not very warm but there was plenty to choose from. Parking - don't attempt to park in the hotel car park, walk down and check for a space, it's down a steep slope and extremely tight to reverse back out of, up hill if full.
