Good range of items now mainly for Christmas however after looking round we decided to have a tea. Loads of the usual coffees but a cup of tea £3.25. Really a pot of boiling water and one tea bag £3.25. If that is profit then I don’t know what is and when poured out it was like hot water and milk. Never again. I should have refused but didn’t see the price until paying. 11000 PG tips catering tea bags £21.40 that’s 5p a bag dash of milk cost of hot water 10p a cup to make.

Over priced, Eggs Benedict , when did that come with a fried egg????. Coffee warm. You charge over the top prices, but can’t deliver the goods. Up market settings, using cooks instead of chef's. Poor quality food over rated prices.

Lovely local place to shop and get that special gift or even just your daily groceries. There is a large (free) car park outside and although the shop inside is packed with goods there is still plenty of room to move about. The day we visited was extremely busy, so busy we couldn't get a table in the cafe. We did buy some sweets for our journey home. It was fascinating watching the Baker make biscuits. The staff were polite, prompt and well presented. The prices reflected the quality of goods on sale. The star rating for food was for the sweets we bought.

Initially informed the restaurant area had a waiting time of 30 minutes. Offered alternative of eating outside where we would be served sooner. We sat outside and waited for ten minutes with no staff around we became bored and cold. So we headed back inside & was informed tables inside would be available within 5 minutes. So we waited and directed to a table. We were told somebody would be over shortly. 15 minutes later a member of staff took our order. 30 minutes later our order of one toastie and one burger arrived. During the interim we were not asked if everything was ok, or of we needed anything else. A simple update on why a toastie takes so long would have been good. It is perfectly clear the staff are not working for tips, as the attention to detail is lacking. House of Bruar operates a self service restaurant, perhaps food for thought

Incredibly rude staff! Waited for coffee, chap at the desk brusquely told us to wait behind the sign without even giving us eye contact. When he had finished taking the money from customers leaving he turned and said, ‘Is it lunch?’ We said, ‘No, coffee please.’ The chap pointed and said, ‘That’s the coffee shop.’ No instruction that it might be self serve, no polite re-direction. We sat down only to then realise it was self serve. I went back to the man at the desk and said to him there was no need for hum to be rude and he could have politely explained about the coffee shop location and that it was self serve. His response- ‘I’m not going to stand here and argue with you!’ Needless to say-we left-and I will not return. Coffee and cake these days and particularly there - gives no change from just under £20, so I’ll take my 20 quid elsewhere thanks very much.

My recent visit to Loch Leven Larder was deeply disappointing. While I understand that the restaurant was busy, what unfolded during our visit was unacceptable. Upon placing our order, we were asked to pay upfront, with the staff explaining that they were experiencing issues with people leaving without paying, which we completely understood as two people who have experience in the hospitality sector. However, for the time we were there (over an hour), it became obvious that no other table during our time there was asked to pay in advance. As the only two people of colour in the restaurant, this discrepancy did not go unnoticed, and we couldn't help but feel that we were being racially profiled. The staff attempted to explain this by saying they only had two iPads, but this explanation fell flat when considering that no one else around us had the same experience. What should have been a pleasant meal turned into an uncomfortable and disappointing experience. I hope Loch Leven Larder takes steps to ensure that all customers are treated equally.

Fantastic place to meet with kids, there’s a spacious outside area to eat and picnic benches further out on the grass, there’s a lovely park and then a massive cricket field for everyone to run around on. The paths are also pram friendly and you can walk in a circular if you need to get a little one to sleep during your visit. I think the breakfast menu might have been better but we missed that and only got the lunch menu which wasn’t that great and quite pricey but coffee amazing and staff lovely. Really lovely place. And great views to boot!

I live locally, and have eaten here often over the years. I haven't been for ages, and used to like it. Today I was with my 82 year old mum, we had to wait 1/2 hour to get seated, as it was busy. When we ordered we asked the server if she was under pressure, but she said it was actually not busy at all. There were loads of staff, and everything came really quickly, the only thing missing my soup and scone. We sat and waited, soup didn't come, my mum became impatient as if she had eaten I would be eating alone, so asked the server. Server went off, came back with soup, with a sarcastic remark that they were busy and it WAS only 10 mins we were waiting after my mum's food arrived. I felt really patronised and embarrassed, as she had intended. I have no objection to waiting for food when it is busy, I do object to food coming out at different times, and I do have objection to being ticked off by a server. A simple apology and walk away if you don't like being asked if some of the order has been forgotten. We were polite and not complaining, and have no excuse for a snippy waitress, maybe she should consider a job that doesn't involve 'hospitality'. The coffee was amazing, soup tasteless and watery, cheese scone was dry as was the frangipane tart.

Such a beautiful place. Great views and very clean. Such a shame that the server is grumpy, the food was expensive and my eggs were cold. We are visiting family in Kinross and the larder is always something we look forward to for lunch then a shopping trip. Not anymore…after choosing to sit outside for our meal the service was underwhelming. My mother in law had to get her own water. We also had to get our own cutlery even though it’s table service and I’m sure the price is the same. The worst issue was my teenage son finding part of a pen in his burger. We realise things happen but the way the restaurant manager dealt with the situation was more accusatory than apologetic. They replaced his burger and finally offered a refund after approaching him myself. The whole situation could have been handled a lot better by a real apology and automatic refund. We were completely put off what would have been a significant shopping trip afterwards and don’t intend to return. My in-laws are frequent customers and they will be thinking twice before returning.

It’s a great stop off if travelling the place was super busy when we were there, went around the shop but didn’t even think about getting food as there was a queue. Lots of produce options were a few things I find in supermarkets which cheapened the experience. Looks like a super fat sausage roll is their signature thing at the deli, you could see through a window in the food department where they are made it’s a nice bit of theatre. The gifts and produce are on the steep side but did find some things worthy of the cost and enjoyed some nice nibbles when I got home

Food choice is good, although more choice if you’re there earlier in the day. I was lucky to have a table inside as it was windy (but sunny) outside, but there are plenty tables to sit on a nice day. Great to head down to the path towards Loch Leven to walk off lunch. The car park closes at 6pm, so any afternoon walk needs to be finished in a reasonable time before you head home. There is a large car park (including disabled spaces), but even then the popularity of being used by walkers often means it is busy. Well worth a stop.

Visited twice this week. First for a birthday and second for a bike ride. On both occasions food and drinks were great. But a few members of staff (not all, some of the younger folk were super friendly) were terrible. On our first visit we had to find someone to take our order and the individual (Stuart) really could not have cared less. We got one word answers, zero eye contact and such a negative energy from him. And today, we decided to give it a second shot thinking that perhaps it was just one member of staff who was having a bad day and possibly an isolated incident? Unfortunately not. We (group of 5 cyclists) went for a post ride coffee and cake. We asked a member of staff where we could sit and were told we could sit anywhere. We made our way to the outside restaurant (table service area) only to be swiftly told by another member of staff that we had to order take away items? The gentleman then told us that we were being “passive aggressive” when we asked why we had to have take away items? Apparently this member of staff has a personal vendetta against cyclists? Very odd interactions. It’s such a shame because the food itself is lovely, you can tell the chefs put a lot of effort in. Plus the shop is fantastic! Will likely not be back, we will take business elsewhere until (hopefully) a fresh bunch of staff/management come through.

With 5 coffee machines, there are only two cubicles in the men's toilet and this is located through the main restaurant, meaning you need to state to the front of the house staff that you only wish to use the toilet and don't require a table. Also, please consider lactose free cows milk for those of us with lactose intolerance as oat/soya/coconut milk is a somewhat desired taste. Otherwise a truly excellent place to spend a few hours.

I recently visited this establishment with my partner and baby, sister and her baby and my mother. We have been plenty of times before as we usually receive really good service and food. However, we were put at a table by their staff and were told where to put our prams by the waitress to later be told by the manager to move one of them as they were in the way. We were happy to do so but the tone in which he asked us to move was not polite (considering this is where we were told to put the prams) he was very curt in his request. We had our meal and then went to pay. We wanted to split the bill (between 2) to which he said he couldn’t do it… we had been a few weeks before and the waitress that served us then had no problem… if you are inexperienced at using your till sir you should of asked for help from one of your members of staff rather than again being very rude. Overall we do like this place but the manager needs a course on customer service… his staff are all very friendly.

I had gift cards which was gifted to me. As I had planned to visit. Because of covid I had suffered serious health issues and also due to closure I hadn't had a chance to use them. I'm sure when you seen me in today I was using oxygen so as I couldn't stand long I had sent my brother in law to pay the bill, using my gift cards only to have them refused. Apparently they had expired only a few weeks ago which i wasnt aware of as i thought they had been extended due to covid. I have never ever came across an establishment so uncaring to my condition as not to honor them. Doesn't give a good look on yous to treat disabled customers this way.
