Popped in here for lunch with our dog. Decent amount of choice on the lunch menu. The steak pie was steak with a pastry top, rather than the pie we expected. The omelette was tasty and the portions were large. The staff were friendly and the service was quick.

I often bring my mother here for lunch, the food is good for the price. We have had problems with the food being wrong before but today was terrible, my elderly mother cannot sit for too long and after waiting for half an hour for our lunch I asked how much longer will our food take?? The waitress hadn't noted it down properly or something so they had forgotten us.. My mother couldn't wait any longer so we left, the girl offered us one free slice of cake to apologise, but still charged us for two cups of tea...We won't be returning again! They have lost good customers. If it had been busy, I would completely understand that this could happen, but it wasn't.

Dropped in for lunch and settled for some great sandwiches ,good food ,good prices and good service .We were really taken with the Dome feature at the back ,it certainly feels like an Italean ice cream parlour which of course thats what it was originally . There is an interesting history hanging on the walls and the owner was quite happy to tell us about the original owners .

WOW!!! What a difference now the new owner is in charge. The Dome has been completely redecorated to a high standard inside. At last one feels that they are welcome and the atmosphere is so friendly and relaxing. The place is spotlessly clean, with all the coronavirus precautions in place and readily accessible. Now the food - well presented, hot, plentiful and delicious. 4 hot drinks and 4 slices of cake couldn’t take any longer to organise. Apparently no table service either. We had to pay again on the car park it took so long then my hot chocolate was ice cold so I returned it. The lady kindly offered to fix it and bring it to my table. Thankfully I’ve been around a bit longer than her so carefully checked the temperature of my cup which no surprise was scolding hot. Clever prank ladies but it wouldn’t have been funny if I’d burnt my lips and ended up in A&E....... most definitely DO NOT recommend and certainly will not return. Customer skills nil points!!

The Dome was a warm & welcoming relief, after a shopping trip to Blairgowrie on a bitter cold day with my wife & sister in law. Finding a cosy corner in the beautifully ornate Dome, we tucked into the home made Chicken Broth & Lentil Soups on offer both of which were excellent. We followed this up with what could only be described as a top class cheese covered steak-burger, with side salad, coleslaw and a mountain of chips which were done to perfection. To be honest we all struggled to finish the huge helpings, but such was the quality of food on offer we weren't going to be beaten. Coffee's & Teas followed with a choice of cakes chosen from the excellent display from the dome shaped counter and like the rest of the food the quality of the home made cakes were perfection. Throughout our visit the attention from the staff couldn't be bettered, and it was a delight to find such a quaint and welcoming family run establishment today with so many quick food outlets being the norm. I highly recommend a visit to the Dome any time your in the area, you wont be disappointed! Value for money all round.

A spur of the moment decision to pop in for breakfast. We sat in the front part of the cafe which has the 'pew style' benches. Through the back you have a relaxed cafe style dinning room. You need to order at the counter, are given a tray and grab cutlery and condiments etc. The food and hot drinks will be brought to the table. We had roll of sausages and roll of black pudding with hot chocolate and a soft drink. We found the actual rolls a bit too floury for our liking but they were generously filled with tasty sausages and black pudding.

7 of us visited the Dome between 12 to 110pm today (Friday), Deluxe Hot Chocolates were off due to machine broken down (fair enough things do breakdown), it took 35 minutes for all the orders to arrive, along the way, we had 3 x wrong orders arrive at our table and 1 x wrong order arrive at the table beside us. We also tried to visit on Monday, but it now appears to now no longer open on Mondays? so we took our trade on Monday to a nearby rival. Also concerning how many tables they had empty at lunchtime today, it never used to be like this, you would have to tour the Dome to find a free table and soap dispenser was empty in Gents toilet. Understand new owners took over 3 months ago, so by now they should be well on top of any transfer of business teething issues. They really need to up their game, otherwise they are going to hand their trade on a plate to the likes of multi chain Whetherspoon's who have recently arrived in Blairgowrie. We will visit again in the hope things will improve as our family have been loyal customers to the Dome for years.

Been here a few times now.Ordered baked potatoes and coleslaw and baked potatoes with cheese and beans.Potatoes a bit black underneath. Better quality of cheese would improve flavour as cheese was mild and tasteless.Portion size was fine with side salad.£5.50 per potato - maybe a bit steep for what it is. Staff pleasant enough.

so today i went for lunch at The Dome - walked in and saw all the unoccupied tables were dirty and full of plates/cups etc. sat down at a table which was also the same and thought to myself the waitress will clean the table once ive ordered. i ordered my food (a baked potato and a juice £7.10!!) with a guy called stuart at the till. the woman in front of me also asked for her table to be cleared. he had a slight moan at her for asking! the food came very prompt about 5 minutes later and the waitress put my food on top of the already dirty plates!! i couldnt believe it. she came up to me and said "baked potato!" dumped it and left.... not is there anything i can get you, ill come back and clear the table, clean it?? nothing!! i am still in shock! i will never be back the place is disgusting and so dirty, the skirting boards beside my table are so dirty. i wouldnt even give this place a 1 star!

Nice to find a place where they seem to make every thing on the premises. Pretty good value as well.

Another great lunch. Macaroni is a speciality and always good and a choice of 3 portion sizes leaving room for one of the lovely cakes.

Almost 5 pounds for a cappuccino for which no order has been taken at first, for which you then have to wait more than 20 minutes, with a spoon and sugar missing and, as a highlight, a 10% service fee appears on the bill? As beautiful as it is in Gleneagles - unfortunately we didn't like it at all...

Went for lunch yesterday with my parents and dog on arrival our table was clearly marked ours and there was already a bowl of water awaiting my dog I thought this was super sweet and thoughtful, the waitress we had was brilliant with my wee Jack Russell she gave him a few biscuits and attention he loved it. Service was quick and the food as always was delicious. Lovely warm welcoming place to eat out and we always choose here when we go for lunch. Great menu lots of choice.

We were enjoying a nice drink in the beer garden one sunny afternoon, when a youth started shouting & swearing at us because we were English (which was funny in itself because none of us are 100% English). The locals were appalled at his behaviour & the landlord immediately ejected him, however, it cast a shadow on our visit.

We were staying at The Hydro, so decided to take lunch at the clubhouse on one of the days. A nice relaxed atmosphere, very clean, and friendly waiting staff. It’s just the job if you only want a casual snack.

I give up, I really do. Have stopped using the restaurant because the food is pretty poor and the staff are surly at best. This morning I wanted to purchase a food item which they have stocked for years. First young girl I asked couldn't understand what I was asking for, second one said they didn't stock it although she has served me in the past and the third one said it had sold out but they might be getting some in in a couple of weeks. Several other local people have mentioned how rude the staff were. Hospitable is not a word you can use for this place and yet years ago it used to be good on all counts.
