Great coffee and recent refurb looks good, however toilets were unclean and smelly. A little more attention required.

D'nisi is a favourite of mine, especially this one and at Stranraer. I often used to cycle here before the refurbishment. This was my first visit since it reopened, and the makeover has certainly been successful. The cafe is much brighter and seems more spacious too. As always , the cakes and snacks are well ahead of the competition. One aspect was a little disappointing, though. I had a flat white , which was excellent. Sadly , there wasnt much of it. Now , I'm not a fan of the big chains that seem to think that coffee should be served by the bucket. Small is often good. But this was a flat white that was barely bigger than an espresso. Just a little bit more would've been nice.

Used love coming here when we visit family however the coffee and scone has lost its gloss. The Royal Scones are still good but the tiny jar of jam and clotted cream is too small. But worse than that is the quality of coffee which is now bitter and unpalatable. Sadly, I won’t be back despite a love of those scones.

The staff within the coffee shop were welcoming and friendly. The shop was busy however the staff who served us were cheerful and chatty while working efficiently. The shop itself is very clean and tidy. There is a good choice of food on the menu and the Christmas club ciabatta was delicious. There was a great selection of scones and sweet treats available and we thoroughly enjoyed our gingerbread scone and red velvet cake. I would definitely recommend a visit to the shop.

We were two friends staying in Alloa for a long weekend and happened to be in the town centre on Sunday morning about 11.30. The High Street was shut up and rather empty but this coffee shop was open so we gave it a go. The shop was inviting from the outside since there were tables on the pavement and we weren't the only customers. Inside the shop was clean and bright. The two young staff were genuine and attentive both behind the counter and when serving at table. The coffee was awfully good, well-made and well-presented (I can't actually remember the last time I had a properly made or served cortado since March 2020...!) and the scones - at least five varieties - were fabulous! Such a welcome contribution to an otherwise under-performing Sunday High Street. Thank you!

Not a good visit this week. Our food took ages to come and was not that good when it came. Chips looked like they'd been cooked on a radiator, sweet potato fries were soggy. Fillings in the paninis were nothing special, and the salmon bagel frankly horrible. Plus points: coffee was good. A nice welcome from the staff and a friendly goodbye. And the sofas, which have been in the premises since it opened, are showing their age - saggy and uncomfortable. Sadly, we won't be back.

My wife and I thought we were in for a good breakfast when we arrived to a nice welcome as we entered the front of the cafe.We took our menu to a nice booth and made our selections of pancakes with bacon and maple syrup for my wife and ahouse breakfast for myself,it sounded very good.My wife's pot of tea arrived first ,a bit on the cool side.40 minutes after we arrived the pancakes and bacon arrived both were cold and to be honest not very appetising.A few minutes later the breakfast arrived,Where do I start? The potato scone was a stranger to the frying pan,dry and cold. The sausages were look warm and tasted like a well know freezershop budget variety. The beans were not on talking terms with the tomato sauce that came out of the same tin, cold as well. The bacon, was so thin it only had one side, and when ,some time before it hit the plate had shrivelled up in the pan ,was by now cold too.The good thing ! The scrambled egg was quite hot, probably the last thing to be cooked ,but unfortunately micro waved, yuk .The toast,I was hopeful,2 slices looked time a treat for me with breakfast, was barely warm and must have fell through the toaster missing the heating elements. We left without eating it,but we did pay the £12 .702 minutes later we were sitting in Wetherspoons bobbing John with a great hot breakfast.

D'nisi has been one of those traditional go-to coffee places in Alloa that has, by all accounts, been established for years. The staff are friendly and know many of their customers by name. With the competition up the road coming on the scene in the recent past in the form of Costa the place was refreshed and you might have thought they would up their game. Well sadly my recent experience would lead me to tell you to avoid for lunch as their ability to take on board the details what you've ordered and deliver it with any alacrity is patently lacking. Three foccacia (basically posh toasties!) ordered had still not arrived after 45 minutes, details of slight variations (salad/nachos/no cheese please) completely ignored. After finally getting up to remind them we were still there, two arrived with no cutlery/napkins leaving one of us for another 5 minutes without their lunch. This all happened at a time when no one else in the place apparently were consuming what might be construed as 'cooked' or 'heated-up' food. A steady stream of customers for coffees and buns were served by at least 5 staff during our long wait. About a month previous to this I had lunch here where one of three meals hadn't been prepared at all. Again, two of us had to sit and eat our meal whilst the other waited another 15 minutes. The only saving grace was that we had also side ordered some potato wedges to share. I remember at that time that the cleaning of tables in the place left much to be desired. This seemed to constitute using a mucky cloth to wipe food detritis on to the floor. The coffee in the place is good and and on a par with the big chains. Unfortunately D'Nisi need to up their game on the lunch front if they are going to tempt me and deliver on the "SATISFY" promise emblazoned on their menus.

Went in for quick breakfast. Staff welcoming. However wouldn't recommend the tea. When it arrived it was very weak so stirred teabag in pot(no button on lid) Took ages but couldn't get it stronger. I don't like strong tea but this was very pale. Also ordered bacon rolls and asked for bacon to be crisp. Again lukewarm bacon on a cold roll and bacon not crisp. It might have been better if the waitress had brought it all out together on a tray but she did it separately. I have been in a few times previously and always had problems with the tea being weak and lukewarm. I am not fond of coffee but did have coffee once and that was really warm. I wish food places would learn how to make proper tea. The water should be just off the boil and the pot warmed.

Have been here quite a few times in the past but today was the first time since they've had a make over. The service and drinks (didn't eat there today so can't judge) were as excellent as they have always been but one reason why we went there instead of Costa was because they used to have a small play area for children. So when myself and my sister turned up with my 15 month old nephew we were a little disappointed to see that had been removed but as we were only there for a short visit we weren't worried. My sister then headed to a table whilst I brought over the drinks, and as I went to the table, I asked what my sister was doing as she seemed to fumbling with some strange plastic contraption that apparently calls itself a high chair. Neither of us are strangers to booster seats which easily strap to the chair and are soft like a firm cushion, but this was a hard plastic thing with a curved handle at the back and a table that moved up and down (rendering it completely useless) at the front. The curved back meant it didn't sit at the back of the chair properly so we had to put all our coats at the back to make it comfy for my nephew. It also took ages to fit to the chair and due to it's ridiculous design obviously didn't fit properly so for an older or bigger child it would have been not just impractical but unsafe. Please D'nisi, bring back high chairs and get rid of these stupid plastic things!

When d'nisi first opened it was a welcome place in Alloa, a change from the usual greasy spoons and somewhere to get a decent coffee. Over the years it seems that the place is a little bit tired looking now and could do with a freshen up. The staff are lovely, but they really need to find someone to run the shop floor, the ordering system at best is erratic, your food may turn up, and it may be what you ordered, if you try to make a change to the already pre-prepared dishes, the staff are happy to do it, but it really can go horribly wrong, The food however is good, and with a bit more staff training and a new look it can once again be a 5 star café.

Very nice atmospheres here. Very relaxing with a large number of armchair seats in the back of the cafe. A good selection of food and a breakfast special. Their home made scones to die for! Although several waitresses the service was a bit slow although when served they were so customer orientated and kept coming back to see if they could help us more. This was very impressive. The music was brilliant. Prices very reasonable definitely would recommend and would certainly return.

Gorgeous atmosphere with nice music and friendly staff. Spend a lot of time here catching up with Friends. Really beats the Starbucks and Costas you walk into. Beautiful fresh coffee, fresh food and plush furniture you can spend hours gossiping. Plus free WiFi. Love how the staff have remembered my coffee order too.

was here with friends, we asked for wine and were told we couldn't as not buying food, we then decided to order a lovely cake, this wasn't classed as food so still not allowed wine, there is nothing detailed in your alcohol policy regarding these rules and regulations

Thoroughly enjoyed my visit. Staff are attentive and really care. You could see they remembered peoples names and took the time to look after the children in the cafe whilst I was there. Nice touches like a place to hang your coat, papers and books available to read, and nice music too.

We stopped here after shopping in Alloa for a quick meal quite late on in the afternoon - just before the cafe was due to close. There was not a lot in the meal line on offer - we went for a Risotto - big mistake - this came in a plastic container sourced from a room at the rear of the shop - then heated. It resembled porridge! Never again! We have been in D'Nisi a few times and found the Coffee and Cakes very good. The staff are also very pleasant and helpful, albeit usually very busy which goes with slow service. Hey Ho - that,s life.

I've been to D'nisi a few times, never overly impressed but because there is nothing else in alloa, my friends & I went there again to grab a coffee. There was a queue of a few customers in front of us which is normally a positive sign, but waiting 10 minutes (I counted 5 members of staff while waiting) to even be noticed isn't particularlyI customer-centred.Once we placed an order (3 coffees to go) we waited and waited and waited... 20 minutes later our orders arrived with a "sorry for the wait". Needless to say, no one had let us know at the time of placing the order that there might be a delay... But a 20-min slip? Really D'nisi?! If this wasn't bad enough, my coffee was lukewarm so went back & asked for a new one (yip, knowing that another 20 mins could be wasted). To my surprise I got my new coffee within minutes. Btw, if you're looking to get a coffee which you can actually taste like coffee, I'm afraid you will need to ask for an extra. So overall, disappointing and we won't be back again. Luckily, I've heard Costa is opening down the road!Btw, it would have been one star, but they do make nice scones.

I never expected to find such a relaxed, informal and inviting atmosphere behind such an unassuming facade but this is an experience worth experiencing and best shared.Excellent service and good choice of menu makes for a period of time when you can just relax and feel at home, bring a friend because you don't want to sit alone for this.

This coffee shop is excellent and well worth a visit. It has comfortable seating in a relaxed, warm and friendly atmosphere with a varied menu, as well as a specials board. They have a large variety of scones baked on the premises daily and two different varieties of freshly made soup daily too. A wide selection of cakes and drinks caters for everyone's tastes. Nikki and her staff are helpful and give every customer a warm greeting and departure. They are happy oblige customers individual requests. Nice to see also that they have a healthy children's menu. The toilets are clean, and the shop is open seven days a week.

First few times myself and my mother came for coffee and lunch it was great, we made it a regular trip when out shopping but then everything started to go wrong. Our drinks often wrong, my mother doesn't take milk and on two occasions we received milky coffee or even tea! The food was never anything exciting and the staff didn't know what they were doing, what deals they had etc. it's s little expensive for what you get and it's a shame as it used to be superb!

Arriving in Alloa at lunch time, we parked and discovered the restaurant nearest the car park was closed due to flooding in the kitchen. We walked into the town and asked directions as we didn't see a cafe anywhere, and were pointed to D'Nisi. We queued a few minutes and then discovered there were more tables through the back, including comfortable sofas were several people were relaxing whilst enjoying their lunch. We ordered paninis and some wedges plus drinks and sat down to wait. The drinks soon arrived and cutlery and after a while our lunch arrived. The tables were quite small for four people and we were close to the next tables, were some young mothers were trying to fit round with three prams! The paninis were tasty, the wedges were rather overcooked and dry, well to be honest some were blackened! But we were being greedy having them, the paninis were adequate. there was a good selection of food and drinks and the cakes looked good too, especially the selection of unusual scones, both sweet and savoury. The toilets were clean and the waitress very friendly. A good place for a coffee or quick lunch.

This place should be good but I found it a bit lack lustre. The menu is varied, I had stuffed, toasted flat bread, with small portion of salad and a little tub of some relish which had been made up ages beforehand to save time. My friend had a salad and left quite a bit of it. The wee one had childrens platter with carrot sticks, raisins, baby bel cheese and a cheese sandwich. The waitress was friendly and checked that we had everything, she did this at every table , we could hear her all the time. then we ordered cake and that took forever to come, the waitress then went through her have you got everything routine. I think trying too hard. The décor is nice and I loved the deep red colour. There are toys for the kids to play with. A comfy corner with sofa and low table. booths and tables. Ample seating. Toilets reasonable.

Lunch on a weekday. We have visited here on many an occasion for lunch, and we always enjoy it. Only fault is that although they have a children's menu they don't do small portions for my mum and a full portion (especially at lunch) is too much, so i usually have to order something that we can share and it's a pity because i really do enjoy their soup!!

Great platefuls for the value. Very tasty food. Think pub grub + extra effort. Was very busy so need to get a table booked (Friday night).
