Nice surroundings and atmosphere staff friendly and efficient the menu was varied and not too expensive considering the location I had the fish and chips which were excellent and a decent portion size too would not hesitate to come back here nextime I’m in Inveraray

Went in with my wife for lunch looked up menu went to place order to be told they stop serving food at 3pm although on menu it said food was served till 9.30 pointed this out to staff to be told menu out of date why have menu at table that's out of date let down for Scottish hospitality

Called in for an early dinner, greeted nicely and had the pick of any table as not busy, the young lady brought over a menu and begins to tell us what was not available, no soup no pizza and no muscles, we both chose a burger but told them we wanted no lettuce and no side salad, whilst waiting the bar started to fill up with customers and some brought in there dogs, we noticed that the young staff were very attentive especially greeting the dogs patting and rubbing them, we never noticed any of the staff washing there hands in between petting the dogs and serving food. When our food arrived to be honest we were disappointed to say the least, the chips were hotbut obviously frozen so as they cooled they hardened and became more like nails, they burger was so dry it was almost inedible, a lump of meat I between a dry bun with no onion or tomato, in fact a complete wanted waste of 37 pounds, in its favour the staff all be it a little louad were eager to please a little supervision would help, I'm sure on another night we might have a different experience.

M. the assistant manager was super helpful in bringing a garage key we left behind at The Inveraray Inn all the way to Helensburgh a one hour drive away! Thank you much, G.

We had eaten at the inverary Inn on the evening of 14th September and had an enjoyable meal. However this evening 22nd September the waiter who took our order didn't look at all interested in doing his job when we were ordering our pizza - hubby's order was OK but my gf vegetarian pizza xame with pepperoni on - which I detest - I'd asked for pineapple instead of olives - no order was written down! My coffee which I'd ordered week was too strong. I askedca waitress if she could change my pizza for the correct one which she kindly did - hubby was nearly finished his by this time but no problem as we were not in a rush. Soon after my correct pizza arrived but edge's hot middle cold - this went back to be heated up but came back exactly the same! By which time I'd given up on my pizza. We decided to ask to see the manager - our original waiter raced off to find the manager first - we explained what had happened the upshot was ' he didn't have customers he had guests' My guests don't pay ! Pepperoni had been written on bill - showing the waiter hadn't listened. It felt as though too many staff running around all over. We were not charged for my pizza- a nice evening spoiled. It was very relaxing in the bar area with entertaining singing going on in the other part of the bar. As to whether we will return to the Inverary Inn remains to be seen.

This was great shout to stop in for lunch, the food was delicious, portion sizes were decent, atmosphere was fab and the staff were so nice although very busy. - well done!

Friendly and welcoming staff, food and drinks were very good. Nothing fussy just a friendly nice place to grab a drink and some dinner.

7 of us went in for a birthday meal. We ordered mains only and waited 45minutes for it to come out, 6 meals came out and waitress said enjoy! Waitress was asked about 7th meal she went away and came back and told us it was getting made now (pasta bake) she was told to forget it as the length of time was ridiculous! I might add it was not busy, 7 of us and another 4 plus a 2, so really not impressed!! Will definitely not be back and we are all locals!!

We enjoyed a stunning family meal here, beautiful salmon with potatoes and vegetables, very tasty pizza and the most delicious Cullen skink soup followed by mushroom risotto! The desserts were also faultless, a delicious panacotta, we really enjoyed our visit and wished we could visit again !

Nice pub food in the outdoors, with a view of Loch Fyne. We happened to be there on a sunny day, and arrived toward the end of the outdoor service for lunch. The waiter immediately told us that, and was very helpful in making recommendations. A lovely, but too short time in Inverary.

There were 5 of us and we were invited to eat in the Veranda rather than in the busy bar area. It was amazing. We had views over the loch and the food and service was great. The service was rapid and friendly and we each enjoyed our meals.

We called in after driving from home for several hours . We were greeted and shown to a table by helpful friendly staff . They were all so helpful and chatty We shared a sandwich ( they looked huge ) , soup and onion rings Delicious food , no complaints. We spent a lovely hour watching the world go by . 100% recommend and would eat / drink there again

Waited an hour for 2 Pizzas & Nachos .. they never showed! Was just about to leave when the nachos turned up, took 1 look and left. Awful service, seriously how service providers like this survive in this climate is beyond me! Ended up @ Loch Fyne Chip shop which is where I should’ve gone in the first place! Food excellent and first class banter to boot!

Don’t know where to start with this, nothing about our experience here was good. The management obviously hold little importance on staff training. Our waitress was unfriendly and despite leaving most of our food , never asked if there was something wrong, we should have complained but just wanted out of the place as soon as possible. On the plus, the pizza that one of my family had was good, but not worth going back to a place which lacked any atmosphere. Very disappointing as it looked lovely from the outside.

We ate in the bar on our first night and it was very busy. The food was very good and very tasty. Staff were very rushed off their feet and got the orders out as quickly as possible. Enjoyable visit.

We dined here this week, family of 5. Atmosphere was very inviting and felt very safe and clean. There was a slight mix up with the food order but it was quickly rectified. Food was delicious, all 5 of us agreed. Would definitely recommend.

Been in Inveraray 3 days and went here for lunch 2 of them because we never knew how good the food was on day 1.. will definitely be back as the steak ciabatta was phenomenal

We always come here on ur annual romantic to Inverary. The staf are friendly and attentive, did everything right @ masks and sanitation. We DO miss the pool table, but was lovely to see our favorite evening barmaid, and have a couple of quiet drinks together!

Inveraray is known for its beauty and scenic location. It's a lovely place to spend a day, but a really dire place to visit if you are a vegan. We called ahead before we visited the Inn and were assured that the chef could provide 'something nice' for vegans. When we got there, however, all I was offered was a sandwich with a bit of avocado, humus and hardly cooked pepper in it. And this was £6! We would not have eaten here if I hadn't been assured that I could get a proper meal. I am not sure why we weren't just told the truth, ie that the Inn doesn't really cater properly for vegans, over the telephone.

We were their very first customers at the 'garden bar' after COVID-19 lockdown. Had an absolute killer steak sandwich, my friends had the awesome burgers, and we sat in the sunshine.All COVID procedures ere in place and, though it's a little strange to be getting 'boxed' food, it didn't affect the quality of the food, or the service!Heartily recommended!

A warm respite on a cold summer day in Scotland. Walked all over Inveraray seeking interesting place to eat and came back to the obvious at the beginning of our walk. This old Inn has a cozy bar and restaurant with view of the loch and fine beer and food. We lucked out on the seasonal local mussels which were better than any we have had, even in France; and plenty of them. Starded with a Cullen Skink, sounds terrible, but a fine fish stew with good seasoning. Ha a couple of local beers to polish off this fine food. Very good attentive waitress. Made us feel at home

We like it here, staff are usually attentive, good beers, decent food in huge portions - too large for us at times. A good place to chill and enjoy drinks, clientele ranges fro walkers to well-heeled, all seem welcome.

My daughter and I had a lovely meal after visiting the castle. The staff were friendly and attentive and the atmosphere was very relaxed. We will definitely be going back next time we are in the area.

Stopped off en route from Oban to the Belfast ferry and had a fantastic hearty lunch. Great selection, quick service, a nicely busy bar restaurant and professional courteous staff. Absolutely recommend for the traveller looking something a bit better than road-side fast food.

After a tiring day and staying in the hotel we had no wish to travel further in the evening, so we ate in the lounge bar. Decent menu and the food was fine. Pleasant outlook. The public bar sounded a bit raucous at times but not really an issue.

Last restaurant open when we arrived in Inveraray and the staff didn't hurry us even if it was late. Food was great and the atmosphere was very nice. Beautiful lounge bar, it made me think of the 'brown bars' in Asmterdam.

Had a beautiful meal here. Welcomed by very friendly staff. The tastes of my main course (trio of Loch Fyne seafood) were just sublime

Popped in at 3pm looking for coffee and cake. We were met by a group of around 10 people who were leaving having been told they were no longer serving food. That extended to cake and shortbread because although we were given coffee we were told there was nothing available to have with it. People around us were given cake as part of their dessert but apparently this could not be extended to our coffee order. We popped into the nearby Londis and bought some shortbread, which was all we wanted. For a hotel that boasts “warm welcome and good food all day” I think this is poor service and a wasted opportunity. The Inveraray Inn will not be stealing the George’s crown any time soon.

The steak sandwich was simple and lovely. The potato soup was creamy and delicious! Great stop on our Highlands Tour. My husband has the fish and chips. The fish was perfectly prepared and the chips were nice and hot.

Excellent menu + Specials board. Very pleasant surroundings in central location. I chose the steak & ale pie which was initially delicious but then less so as it was VERY salty. Veg beautifully cooked and presented. I'll visit again and choose differently. Great for meals and snacks with prompt service. Wi-fi appeared to be down, though I didn't check.

we called in to inverary for a half day trip and went into the inverary inn for a bite to eat ordered a sandwich ( cheese & pickle ) it came with a small salas on the side well worth the money

We stumbled upon The Inverarry Inn while travelling and found it an ideal lunch stop. The parking was easy (though limited) and the inn had a very pleasant ambience. We found the service friendly and the seating was comfortable. One of us enjoyed a delicious Cumberland sausage while the steak and ale pie was good too, though we don't personally feel that a lid of puff pastry turns a stew into a pie. We'd certainly recommend stopping here.

Visited 3 times with in a week for lunch when staying on the west coast of Scotland for a week. My partner and I had different things from the menu each visit and all were lovely. The staff were very attentive. Any trips to the Argyle coast we will be sure to factor in stopping at the Inveraray Inn again.

Had dinner here on one occasion as the Samphire was closed. The menu was limited and the food though edible wasn't special

We stopped for lunch on our way across the country and were quite easily able to get a wheelchair around into the conservatory for a light lunch. While service in the conservatory is listed as 'order in the bar', the bartender was very friendly and ensured us table service. He was prompt and attentive, as were other staff that came out as we were there. There were good, simple choices for lunch, perfect for our needs. We all had soup or Cullen Skink (and one sandwich), which was very tasty and enjoyed by the whole table.

Visited on a sunny but cold Sunday afternoon with my dad, who is in a wheelchair. We were hoping for a hot drink and cake to warm us up but were told by the barman there were no hot drinks as they were too busy. Fair enough - we would have cold drinks from the bar. Except at the table next to the bar were a group enjoying pots of tea and cups of coffee. I asked the barman why they could have hot drinks but we couldn't. His reply was 'It is too busy for us to have someone stand at the coffee machine', which seems a bit odd. I can't see it taking much longer to pour a coffee from a machine than it does to pull a pint. Being understaffed is not a good reason to lie to customers. If one table can have hot drinks it is surely possible for another. Very poor show. And it wasn't that busy. (See pic) On the plus side there is good wheelchair access for anyone who doesn't want a hot drink.

We visited here for dinner which started at 6pm. Sadly there were no mussels - they had been expecting a delivery which hasn’t arrived but never mind, the food we chose was delicious. Big portions so left feeling very satisfied. Could have maybe done with some background music in order to make the atmosphere a better but all in all, lovely :)

We enjoyed a late lunch in the pup. We ordered at the bar and drinks were delivered quickly. We both chose the soup and sandwich option The vegetable soup is very good. The portions were good sized . The atmosphere is warm and friendly.

After finding our planned restaurant closed we opted for the Inn and we are so glad we did. The lounge bar is a nicely furnished, comfortable place to have dinner and the staff soon made room for the six of us to eat together.

Had a few pints of local beer which was very nice and went back for our evening meal. I had the Cullen Skunk, a Scottish fish chowder. Best I've ever had. Would definitely recommend it to anyone

We stayed in the hotel for three nights and usually tend to avoid hotel food ( often over priced and not that great) but we we happy to eat each night good price good selection great food good sized portions.

This is a no-nonsense lounge bar and designed to meet the needs of the regular patron. Small selection of good draught beers, wines and whiskeys. Courteous and prompt service and a reasonably good selection of food. This is well located and accommodates a limited number of people so it’s a good idea to arrive a little earlier that planned eating time. Not a first choice to dine but adequate to satisfy

Nostalgic visit. My father passed away 45 years ago on September 2018. His party song was called the Inveraray Inn and having a drink with my wife brought back happy memories. Well patronised by worlwide tourists and overhead many complimenting the food. There certainly is a "Nice wee Inn the Inveraray Inn I have never been in a nicer Inn before"

Had lunch here when passing through and it was a pleasant, comfortable restaurant and pub with great food and drink. Good service and friendly staff made the experience even more enjoyable.

I would recommend this place for anyone seeking 'pub grub' or average priced beer. It's a no frills kind of place but does the job. Nothing special and nothing bad just standard pub grub. Would return if in a pinch!

We stayed at the Inn for a couple nights. We had a lunch and dinner at the pub. The service was great and attentive. It seemed like every wait staff going by knew what was going on with each table. The food was really good. I had the lemon crusted salmon and fresh green salad. Nice selection of beers and whisky too. A good place to eat!

We stopped over for one night on the way to Oban. Friendly Local staff went out of their way to help my elderly mother in law, small but clean and comfortable bedrooms, really delicious supper (mussels then lamb). Could not recommend this place more. Inveraray is also a stunning location, you can feel history all around you. Also very good WiFi which meant I could finish work before the holiday.

What a lovely meal we had and very accommodating for gluten free options. We did not book but it did seem very popular, so I think we were lucky (we arrived about 6pm). Friendly staff, highly recommend.

Had to walk out after 15 mins due to lack of attention by staff! Staff kept wandering past with nose in the air like we did not exist. Walked out without enquiry.

Hier heelijke pasta met div.soorten vis en mosselen gegeten. Ook een goed glas rode wijn. Prijs en kwaliteit van het eten is prima. Hier ook weer, zoals overal in Schotland, zeer vriendlijke service. Echt een aanrader!

Stopped in for lunch, had to seat myself at a dirty table that was never cleaned off. Waited 15 minutes for the waitress to come take our order. She didn’t take any drink order but only food. Food was just okay. Would not recommend- was a waste of time.

Stopped for an early supper on the journey home. The lounge bar is quite nice except that it’s through from the public bar and the bar itself serves both sides with a door open through to each side. The public bar was really rowdy and the language was choice - that’s a huge understatement! We hoped that the other customers, mainly foreign visitors, didn’t understand much of it because it really was way beyond acceptable and I don’t understand why the manager or bar staff didn’t contain it. On the positive side, the menu offers a good selection of food and the staff were all very friendly. We enjoyed the view from the window and the food was served quickly. I had the salmon from the specials board and it was very fresh and nicely presented. We’d probably stop in here again but perhaps not after an Old Firm game!

We had a great stay at this well maintained clean and comfortable Hotel. The lounge bar was warm and welcoming and the staff were excellent and very friendly. The atmosphire is very relaxed and the food on offer excellent

We weren't too happy with the hotel we were staying at in Inveraray and booked a table for dinner at the Inveraray Inn on our second night. The menu and the food was excellent with a helpful and friendly staff. We would go back there...

Looking for a coffee shop we seen the ‘illy’ sign outside and went in. The coffee shop is essentially in the hotel bar, it’s where lunches are served also. I felt it was devoid of any ‘soul’ and atmosphere. We ordered 2 coffees and asked if there were any scones “no, just shortbread” the staff said so we ordered that. I was a tad disappointed when the coffee arrived accompanied by 4 packets of walkers single serve shortbread rounds (the ones you get as a courtesy in your hotel room). We asked why at such a landmark hotel they didn’t even have homemade shortbread, given the impression we were going into a coffee shop, “it’s because it’s quiet season just now”. Well, I can only say that you may well continue to be quiet with that attitude. Considering the competition in the town I felt a bit disappointed.

The atmosphere is cosy with a beautiful view and fire place. The service was kind, polite and very pleasant. The food was absolutely delicious and the portions way too big - be ready to feel stuffed! My only annoyance with the Inveraray Inn is that it was only a stop on the road for us and I will not be able to go back. Strongly recommend!
