Very good food, the fish and chips were the best since we arrived in Scotland. The other dishes were just as good and the service was good. I recommend!

Very nice food, great range of seafood in the platter, very much enjoyed. Rib eye steak great and delicious starter of seafood chowder. Excellent service, friendly staff and couldn't fault the harbour view from the window. Definitely recommend. Don't agree with dogs in restaurants though.

On a tour of Scotland and our bus driver recommended them. Came with our new friends and shared appetizers. Had bowls of chowder for lunch. Best meal of our trip so far.

Had a fantastic meal here, to finish off our time on Mull. Can highly recommend the Langoustines.

Arrived on a busy Friday with no booking but they accommodated us with a lovely smile and were brilliant all the way through. Our two burgers were moist and delicious. Would thoroughly recommend

After taking a few bites of the chowder we quickly declared it the best we’ve ever had. The chowder made the trip to Tobermory worth it. The fish and chips were very OK, but their chowder alone deserves a 5-star.

Really good food, and prices I thought were great, but I'm use to Kent and London pricing. Nice staff I would recommend and go again.

We loved the food. 😋 the staff were really welcoming and helpful. We forgot to take photos as we were so enjoying the evening. Rusty, our dog, was very welcome, too! He enjoyed the attention.

Popped in for lunch. Lovely staff who were so friendly and polite. The food was excellent and well presented. We sat upstairs and had a corner booth overlooking the harbour. Perfect.

A very welcoming and friendly bar; also, occasionally a really great place to go for a traditional music session! Always clean, friendly and a pleasure to visit.

Fab food - great selection of choice. The scallop pakoras were delicious! Also really enjoyed the seafood salad.

Food was fine. Little disappointed in the menu though as its changed since we were there last year. They used to do lovely hot chicken wings and had done for many years. Almost famous for them. They've gone and the menu is now very much fish based. Even the staple steak pie has gone. Shame.

Simple, yet nice restaurant with good food and a kind staff. The service could be a little more attentive, and the room a little cosier, but the place can be definitely recommended.

Went to MacGochans, mid afternoon, with a view to having to have a couple of drinks and potentially something to eat. The lady who served us obviously didn’t regard us as suitable customers for the restaurant, as when I went to the bar to order a couple of drinks she told me in no uncertain terms that the bar was due to open in a few minutes, at 3pm and she would serve us, this once, but we should use the bar after that! We had our drink and left, yet to taste the undoubted delights that the kitchen were offering. A strange experience. We might have enjoyed something to eat if this member of staff hadn’t jumped to some outlandish conclusion about us!

After a long day of walking around Mull in the west coast weather of wind and the rain; our shoes wet, our bellies empty but our spirits were raised when we seen the potential of a warm dinner at this inviting beacon of hope. The staff were attentive, the drinks strong and the food delicious. Highly, highly, recommend.

Banging, if you go to Tobermory go here. Get of the bus turn left away the distillery an a 100 yards on you right is a place to eat an drink. A little pricey but we'll worth it. Food great, service great A+++

Open late for dinner, everything was delicious! I had to make menu adjustments for allergy reasons and Dylan was super helpful and accommodating. Great dinner spot!

We had the gin spritz, tomato soup, smoked salmon, calamari, & lamb. Everything was so delicious! Our only regret was that we were too full to try their desserts.

Super fresh seafood for the seafood lovers

It's nice to sit on the terrace, the staff is polite, the food tastes okay, but not particularly good. It's OK, but you can eat better for the money. Mozzarella with peaches for £9 and then the peaches are out of the tin? Or vegetable curry that only consists of chickpeas. Therefore only 3 stars, we don't have to go there again.

We came back from a tour to the Islands and were fortunate enough to get a great seat looking out over the sea. The staff were lovely - so kind and attentive, and the food was superb! Best seafood I can remember ever eating (ans as a North-Norwegian I'm picky about seafood). Would absolutely recommend.

Didn't book but no problem getting seated on a Monday lunchtime. Service very quick and polite, our food arrived about 15mins after ordering,it was hot and delicious so I wouldn't hesitate to recommend 😋

Mull’s Wetherspoons but x3 the price Microwaved pub grub. Chicken tenders process chicken, Burnt burger, cold chips, chewwy processed chicken schnitzel. Miserable staff who then have the audacity to put a sneaky and greedy service charge on to your bill in the hope that you don’t notice. Chancers.

Our visit to Macgochans in Tobermory left us with mixed feelings. While the food was okay, it didn't quite meet our expectations given the pricing. The whole dining experience felt rushed; we managed two courses and drinks in just about 45 minutes, resembling more of a fast-food experience than a leisurely meal at a restaurant. Reflecting on our visit, we felt somewhat disappointed and even a bit misled. The lack of menus outside the restaurant gave an impression of being trapped into dining there once seated. Additionally, it's important to note that a service charge is automatically added to your bill, which came as a surprise. Overall, while Macgochans has potential, our experience left us feeling somewhat underwhelmed and cautious about recommending it for a relaxed dining experience in Tobermory.

Only had beer wish we could of had more but time and tide wait for no man.

Fantastic range of whiskies and beers on tap, all at prices you can't argue with. Very very glad to find this wee gem!

We are quite early evening here and the service was excellent. Prices were very reasonable and the food quality was very high. The seafood platter is generous enough for two people even though this isn’t stated on the menu. It began to get a little noisy as we neared the end of our meal but it wasn’t a problem. Drinks were priced in line with most other places in the town but the relatively affordable food made this a sub £60 meal for two of us with starters.

This is a nice place to eat, with a very good menu and excellent service. It has got very good views to Tobermory.

Great food...we were there twice

Very fine food! Our changes were incorporated without any problems. Everything freshly prepared and served quickly. You can see into the kitchen, everything is very clean! The staff is very friendly and serves as quickly as possible. We ate here twice and would love to come back when we get the chance. Highly recommended because the price/performance ratio is also right!

Visited the restaurant early June 2024 whilst riding the Mull Sportive. The venue is large and spacious over 2 floors, with the upper floor offering great views over Tobermory Harbour. Food was on point and the staff were very helpful, friendly & attentive. 5/5

A bit on the expensive side but probably the best fish and chips I've ever had!

My mother and I came to visit Tobermory and for our last evening there we went for a meal at MacGochans. Without sounding too presumptuous, I had THE best fish and chips I have had in a LONG time. The batter was incredibly thin, light and crispy throughout (which is incredibly rare to find), and the quality of the fish was outstanding. I had the special-of-the-day soup for starters (sweet potato soup), which was equally exquisite. We were sat upstairs, with a wonderful view of the harbour, and the atmosphere and service were really nice. I strongly recommend this wonderful restaurant. (Apologies, no photos to share as by the time I had devoured it all the plates were empty!).

BEWARE THE SURCHARGE Booked for a family of 11 and was seated upstairs . That was the only good think about the meal. Had 3 young children and the menu choice was limited. We also had 2 vegetarians and the choice was even worse. Drinks were expensive but you expect that on a holiday destination. However as we were all tired after a very long journey we didn't actually look at the recept properly till we had left the premises and found we had been charged a surcharge of £25.70. I know we should have checked the bill before hand but we have been regular visitors to Mull for 20 years and it will be the last time we eat or drink in this establishment.

Excellent outside dining overlooking charming Tobermory. Gluten free items are marked and staff was either knowledgeable or double checked for me. I had the incredible Tobermory Seafood Chowder that was chock full of seafood. It is marked as GFO or Gluten Free Optional. They substituted excellent gluten free bread for the sour dough bread that comes with the meal. I had the pot of mussels that also had gluten free bread substituted. They also had gluten free sticky toffee pudding that was very good. There were lots of options for gluten free on the menu and it was encouraging to have so much to choose from.

Relaxed place with good food and service. I had the seafood platter which was excellent although quite expensive for what you got, my wife had the steak pie and chips which was equally good and very reasonably priced. Service was excellent and very attentive and we had a very relaxing lunch here after a walk around Tobermory. Also dog friendly which is always good to see

Good pub with a large selection of beers.

We had just finished a boat trip and were very thirsty and hungry. We stood by the ‘wait to be seated’ sign and were ignored by at least 2 staff. It did not look busy and there was a table full of drunks in the beer garden. Our business went elsewhere this evening.

Seafood Chowder was first class. cask Beer. Top pub.

Standard pub/restaurant/gastro. It has a separate bar adjacent to the actual restaurant for drinks-only activities so the restaurant has a more relaxed atmosphere. Prices similar to other places in the town. We had burgers and dessert – all tasted very good. Staff were very friendly and accommodating. Service was very good, and efficient. Recommend! A staple option here.

Lovely place our waitress was just fantastic. Paella was really good and my son loved his marshmallow ice-cream.

Fantastic food enjoyed by all. Went with family including young children and everyone enjoyed their food. They are also dog friendly. Really good selection of drinks to chose from as well. Staff were really friendly and is a great location.

Loved this bar in Tobermoray! A warm and welcoming atmosphere and fantastic service. A good choice for loca ales. Highly recommended in you're in the area.

The fish and chips were one of the best I have ever eaten, they had the right amount of crisp and the flavor was great. Also the Ukrainian stew was a highlight. Was there during the mull rally and it was super crowded and even then they served us quickly and efficiently. This restaurant also has great views over the pastel buildings of Tobermory. Cannot recommend this place enough!

I had the champion burger from the specials menu. It was pricier than normal for a burger. But considering the location and how great it tasted. I can't complain. Also very filling. The standard menu seems pretty good and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and plenty of customers.
