Good food and nice staff but the room was so cold.

Had a lovely dinner here. The staff were nice, and the food was lovely. We just had one of the polish specials and some dumplings to share as we weren't too hungry, but both were delicious

Loved this bar in Tobermoray! A warm and welcoming atmosphere and fantastic service. A good choice for loca ales. Highly recommended in you're in the area.

The fish and chips were one of the best I have ever eaten, they had the right amount of crisp and the flavor was great. Also the Ukrainian stew was a highlight. Was there during the mull rally and it was super crowded and even then they served us quickly and efficiently. This restaurant also has great views over the pastel buildings of Tobermory. Cannot recommend this place enough!

Food was actually decent but unfortunately we realised after leaving the island they overcharged us. We were just visiting for the day so not much we can do about it now, but did leave a bit of a sour taste

I had the champion burger from the specials menu. It was pricier than normal for a burger. But considering the location and how great it tasted. I can't complain. Also very filling. The standard menu seems pretty good and reasonably priced. Friendly staff and plenty of customers.

Macgochans's is a lovely restaurant and has a bar next door,there is sitting area out side which you can see the marina,decent food couldn't grumble about the portions or choices, polite and friendly staff,enjoyed my time there

Great restaurant and super nice employees. Unfortunately the food was just mediocre. The burger could have been juicier, but unfortunately the patty was very dry. And everything could be a little more seasoned. But that's a matter of taste.

Was greeted warmly upon arrival, sat at a seat and was given a menu promptly. Upon ordering, food was with us in no longer than 5 minutes. The fish and chips were beautiful! Ended up getting a mint aero sundae too, which was phenomenal! As a smoker, my taste buds aren't exactly optimal. So you can trust me when I say the food here is divine! Eating here is an absolute MUST! Our waitress was lovely and very friendly!

Honestly quite an experience, the food here was absolutely delicious. Highly recommend the beer battered fish and chips, the salad was lovely. Our waitress was very friendly and helpful. Also recommend the cheesecake of the day (just so happened to be honeycomb) - it’s delicious! An overall brilliant experience!

Great evening venue with restaurant upstairs and a lively bar with live music some days. Dog friendly too.

When all other restaurants and smelly pub fails then this becomes a pleasure.

bought 6 coffees coffees were great but we were advised we couldn’t have spoons to stir them as they didn’t have any clean ones! managed to get a desert spoon eventually between us.

Arrived in Tobermory around 2pm. It was raining and was looking for somewhere to get out of the rain. Machochans had a nice covered seating area at the front. Perfect for a beer and wait for the rain to stop. I didn't eat but the foodbi saw looked good and wholesome

It's a good pub and restaurant. Note, they don't take reservations except for large groups, instead just go in and ask for a table, if they're busy they'll send you to their bar next door and come and get you when a table is available. The food is good, the chips in particular are excellent. Prices are a little high, but no more than you'd expect on an island, certainly compared to other Tobermory restaurants they're reasonable.

Great place to eat ,friendly staff quick service. Off the main street so a chill place as well.100 % recommend it

Beautiful food & fabulous atmosphere. The chicken snitzell is amazing. The music when we visited made the night. 60s & 70s & I sang along to most. Could have stayed all night. 😊😊

We often visit here with my guests on our tours. It's a cool pub with decent food but it's suffering with recruitment both front and back of house I think. The Ranch burger was fine. A very dry patty if I'm honest, a tiny bit of cheese & slice of bacon and decent mushroom sauce. The coleslaw looked pretty naff although it tasted fine. Chips were good and the salad with dressing fine. I asked for the dessert menu (fancied the chocolate orange mud pie) but dessert means the staff desert !! Must have been break time because they all disappeared. I waited 20 minutes and saw no one outside where my guests and I sat. I had to get the 7.25pm ferry so needed to be away at 6.15pm and I gave up in the end. Had to go inside to ask for the bill and only one lady behind the bar. Overall it's just not on point and for a venue well regarded it's a bit 3 star today. I'll try somewhere new next time.

We were served by a rude and eye rolling waitress and shoved under the stairs like Harry potter. We ordered the tacos (plural) and a vegan burger. My son had the squid and chicken wings. Food came out within 10 minutes which made me think it had all been microwaved or thrown in a fryer. Burger was deep fried served on a defrosted bun, no salad or dressing just dripping in fat. The tacos was one el paso taco with dry jackfruit on the biggest bowl of salad leaves, Not a taco at all more like a student special at 2 in the morning. The squid was deep fried and the wings were dry. The mayonnaise that came with the burger was the same that was served with the squid. I suspect it wasn't vegan and was the worst mayonnaise I had ever had. Overall the meal was not worth the money paid and the service was well below par. Had better in a weatherspoons. Very poor

Attentive staff and nice environment but let down by the food. Quality seemed poor in regards to the price. Had the burger and chips and both were average didn’t taste the freshness you would expect. I had the cheesecake after and that redeemed the experience a little. Overall not bad but really nothing special

Can't complain about food or service, sandwiches well filled and value for money. However, they will put 10% service charge on. We have been using the place for some time, the food is always good.

Ordered one starter and 4 mains. All came in good quality and in reasonable portion. Langoustine is particularly good. The pan fried sea bass is also awesome. I like the pepper and salt squid very much. We sat on the 1st floor with good sea view.

Called in for lunch with a party of friends. Superb food and service, great location with harbour views. Will be back.

The food was good, but it could have used a little more spice. The service was extremely courteous and friendly. The ambience was particularly beautiful, modern, but still appropriate and inviting.

Large restaurant in Tobermory on the Isle of Mull. Large bar with a good selection of beers wines and spirits. I had salt and pepper squid to start followed by a Sea Bass with leek and pea risotto. Both were a good size without being too large. Salt and pepper squid was delicious. Skin on the Sea Bass was lovely and crispy. Risotto was really nice and complimented the fish really well. Had a side of seasonal veg (broccoli, peas, carrots) and onion rings which were great. Others in the party had chicken schnitzel and burgers which they all enjoyed.

Nice and clean pub. Really nice staff. We didn't like the food at all. Salad was soggy from oil, scallops were undercooked, langustines were just tasteless. Really disappointing for this price.

Nice restaurant and pub. We were in the restaurant several times, the food is delicious, as is the beer on tap. The waiting time is quite short, the service is friendly.

Staying in Tobermory for a few days during some incredible weather Macgochans has a large patio out front in the sunshine. Unusually there's good attentive waiter service out there. The drinking bar - Bar Beag, open from 4pm - provided an excellent pint of Loch Fyne one day but had nothing the next. The barmaid didn't point out I could have obtained it from the restaurant bar. We ate here one lunchtime. It was OK but the chicken caesar bun had unadvertised nasty harsh creole spice coating on the chicken and I wouldn't have ordered this had it been mentioned. Otherwise the food was OK.

We arrived at about 5:00, and I ordered the cheese burger and a lemonade. The food came out quickly, and it tasted nice, but the toilets were dirty.

Great venue, cracking views. Starter was amazing, but burgers bit underwhelming without being bad.

We travelled from mainland to Mull to walk and to eat we ordered drinks and the meal it was busy but the meal never came when I queried it after sometime we were told the order never got to the kitchen they said sorry and gave us our lagers free but not happy at this as waiting in the heat and hungry too 😞

We only stopped in for dessert and a pint, staff were amazing great beer but the vegan mud cake was OUT OF THIS WORLD! Absolutely delicious cannot recommend highly enough Staff really were superb too coming out of there way to make a fuss of our dogs

Bitter offering limited to just Bellhaven. Chicken Ceaser came with a spicy covering which apparently comes on every chicken dish they do...not nice. Haddock and chips was nice fish. Staff lovely.

Really enjoyed our lunch here. It was a beautiful day, so we sat outside with the dogs. Service was friendly and efficient, and the food was good. My partner had the scallops, and there were lots of them, and they were fresh and tasty. Would say that for a main, ithey were a bit rich. I had the haddock and chips, and it was delicious. Batter was thin and crisp, and fish was really good with a nice texture and colour. All washed down with a couple of pints, lovely jubbly

Great for lunch. We got the ferry from Kilchoan and it was such a warm and sunny day we wanted to eat outside. We managed to get a seat in the sun and I had a vegan quinoa betroot burger with a generous and delicious salad coleslaw and perfect chips. Not cheap but great value.

Great service, great food. Food is simple, fuss free with an emphasis on making sure local produce is used. It definitely is one of the first places to go to if your staying in Tobermory and essential if you have just come back from being out on a Whale Watching boat tour

Family meal. Pub was very busy, therefore we had a bit of a wait. The food was lovely and the staff were extremely efficient and friendly: especially the young lady server from Edinburgh. A real asset to Macgochans. Looking forward to our next visit 💜

Great place for food or just a pint n chill

The food is awful! Worse standard than weather spoons but more expensive. We ate as a family of 4 and all had something different from the menu ( the lamb chops were microwaved, as was the very dry bbq ribs and the burger too was very dry - rubbish chips too unfortunately!) Nice place to go for a drink and nice inside and out but don't have food here

I highly recommend ! Smiling and very pleasant staff, whether at the bar or in the restaurant. My husband had the mussels and I had the scampi and both dishes were really very good!!! Thank you for this welcome. We had sent an email for information and they made the effort to respond to us in French. A very nice team!

Visited the pub two nights in a row. Lovely welcoming staff to us and our dog. Quiz night on Friday was great fun.

Good food on arrival at Tobermory. Loved the parsnip & thyme soup on such a cold day, followed by the steak & ale pie. Skin-on fries were really good too. Service was fast & friendly.

Had a nice bit of lunch here. Food was tasty and the staff were very nice and attentive. Extra marks for all the gin chat with our lovely waitress. We promptly went to the distillery next door for a bottle of the gin we had with lunch!!
