The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

This place is clean, tidy and a pleasant to be in I would recommend it highly. We only went for a coffee but the food being served looked delicious

Was over from Northern Ireland visiting friends who live in the nearby area last week, the food was absolutely beautiful and the two ladies who run the business couldn’t have been any nicer, friendly atmosphere, great service and amazing food. The menu had lots to offer. I went for the ‘Salt & Chilli Chicken’ and it was absolutely delicious and the Caramel Apple Pie was phenomenal! We all will definitely be back on our next visit over, thanks again everyone 😊

The set menu - with a couple of pre starters and sides - was absolutely delicious, generous portions, superb service and very good value.

Absolutely fantastic experience and food. We visited Nov 2020 and we had our second visit today. It's such a wonderful thing that after years The Walnut still can amaze us by the food.

I recently enjoyed a wonderful dinner at Aizle, the food was delicious, and we were very well looked after by the team who took time to explain each dish with knowledge and charm. It was, however, a shame about the Mice!! Whilst I may have turned a blind eye to a mouse scurrying into a corner, we witnessed consistent raids into the middle of the restaurant throughout dinner. The staff seemed unfazed, suggesting this was a common occurrence. I am disappointed that the team have not responded to my emails, in direct response to their email requesting feedback. I would avoid until rodent situation has been acknowledged, and bought under control.

Excellent espresso based coffee, the breakfast menu has to be sampled. Caters for all diets and needs. Friendly staff and service. As it is small, arriving early would be a good idea. Recommended

We had lunch at the Boar's Head yesterday.. 15th May.. and it was fabulous.. we took friends who hadn't been before and they were so impressed too. We were greeted by Suzi who looked after us well with drinks and food... offering to change anything if we wanted a different sauce eith a particular meal and was very knowledgeable about all the dishes too. The food was superb with all of us enjoying starter main and dessert. One of our guests was overheard saying how much she loved rhubarb and when her dessert arrived extra had been added. We were lucky enough to meet Gordon, the chef, and thank him personally. We would all highly recommend the Boar's Head and we're planning to visit again..... thanks to all who made us feel so welcome.

Ein besonderes Restaurant. Wunderschön eingerichtet und alles ist mit Liebe gestaltet. Wir haben ein Dreigängemenü gegessen. Es hat alles besonders und wunderbar geschmeckt. Als Getränke gibt es Wasser und besondere Tees. Je nachdem, was man isst, den passenden Tee dazu. Bei jedem Gang, ein anderer Tee mit einer kleinen Erklärung dazu. Dieses Restaurant ist wirklich etwas besonderes und passt genau dorthin, wo es steht. Die beiden Gastgeberinnen sind unaufdringlich und trotzdem herzlich. Ein besonderes Erlebnis in wunderschöner Natur.

We enjoyed a great dinner here last night. The staff were so friendly and couldn’t do enough for us. The food was delicious, we both had the seafood boil and loved it. Oodles of shellfish for a vey reasonable price.
