Was over from Northern Ireland visiting friends who live in the nearby area last week, the food was absolutely beautiful and the two ladies who run the business couldn’t have been any nicer, friendly atmosphere, great service and amazing food. The menu had lots to offer. I went for the ‘Salt & Chilli Chicken’ and it was absolutely delicious and the Caramel Apple Pie was phenomenal! We all will definitely be back on our next visit over, thanks again everyone 😊

Visited Saturday afternoon, without a booking. The lunch menu was served until 3 p.m., and the main menu is available also. I ate from lunch menu and husband from main. We had mozzarella sticks, chilli nachos. Chicken curry, hunters chicken, and kids fish fingers with chips and beans. We all thoroughly enjoyed our food and the staff were lovely. Will definitely go back

An excellent family run restaurant. Food served HOT (which is a must for me) and of course, cooked freshly to order. Contained within a very long established family owned pub. Guy's Inn. Well known and popular in Hamilton. It has an extensive and very nice menu. Good prices also. Great friendly service and atmosphere in this place, every visit, from the restaurant staff and the bar staff. They also do a lovely buffet. We recently enjoyed the Brambles buffet at a relatives funeral. The food and service were were first class. No wonder we are regular customers. You will not be disappointed.

THE best steak pie in Hamilton. Kids love the pasta and chicken nuggets. Burgers are great. Desserts are amazing. I could go on and on or you could go and try it all for yourselves

Having a Three Course meal for under £13 each and £12 for a bottle of Pinot Gricio, what more could you want, because the food was 1st class and service was fantastic, will be back soon.

Went as a family with my fussy 7 year old. Plenty of choice. All food was fresh and obviously homemade. Great service and very reasonably priced, will definitely be back.

A hidden gem in Hamilton, serving delicious homemade food. Nothing microwaved, and served by genuinely friendly staff. Would recommend this great value place, and will definitely be back!

Visited twice with my boyfriend and both times we have had really nice meals. My boyfriend has had both chicken and steak pie and said both were brilliant. Twice I have had the penne arrabiata which was nice. However, as a vegetarian my one comment would be that it would be nice to have another option on the menu that is for veggies. I think the lunch menu offers macaroni but this wasn’t on our dinner menu. The drinks are well priced too.

Enjoyed a breakfast roll and an irn bru. Pleasant and lovely staff. Very attentive. Bonus for a veggie sausage available and a good crispy roll.

The restaurant is located in Biggar High Street, where there is parking on-street in the locality for those driving, however we’re fortunate enough to live within reasonable walking distance. It’s closed on Monday & Tuesdays but otherwise open for lunch and dinner. The menu usually has half a dozen starters and desserts with around eight mains courses to choose from and these all feature fairly frequent changes. Currently the cost of a three course meal is £31.95 per head which represents a modest saving on the individual course prices. Supplements apply to some dishes which can increase the cost marginally but on the upside there are also discounted deals, such as “Steak Night” on a Thursday where you can get a starter and a steak for £25. To give some idea of what food is offered, on our last couple of visits we had Thai Fish Cakes with lemon mayo, Warm Bacon, Black Pudding & Potato Salad, Chicken Liver Pate with oatcakes and a Mushroom, Brie & Thyme Tart as starters. For mains we’ve had Haddock wrapped in Parma Ham, Breast of Chicken in Drambuie Sauce, Parsley & Hazelnut Crusted Cod, and Ballotine of Chicken & Haggis with a whisky sauce (as an alternative to peppercorn) all served with a selection of potatoes and vegetables. For desserts we both had the Cherry Bakewell Tart with Amaretto Custard on one occasion, an Apple & Blueberry Crumble Tart with custard and a Baileys & Strawberry Cheesecake with Chantilly Cream and fresh berries on another visit. Generally speaking the food is very good with only an occasional slight disappointment when for example a flavour mentioned on the menu isn‘t particularly noticeable in the dish itself - the Amaretto was subtle to the extent we couldn’t taste it in the custard for instance. Drinks are typically priced for a restaurant - e.g. we had a bottle of wine at £32 on one of the visits, a glass of Sauvignon is £5.25, and a G&T £4.75. Service is friendly, mannerly and efficient in our experience. On the past couple of visits it was busy and there was a good ambiance in the main restaurant with some guests being directed to the upstairs section on one occasion. Our only gripe is that the seats are not all re-upholstered and if you get one which hasn’t been "padded-out" in recent times it can get quite uncomfortable sitting for too long which is not ideal. Toilets are well maintained.
