Excellent for gluten free, or vegans, or normal people. Best gf cakes, scones and breakfasts in Scotland. Aubrey and his team are some of the kindest people you will ever meet. Definitely go.

My favourite place to get breakfast and brunch in Leith, lived here for 2 years and never had a bad experience or meal, they’ve got great prices, cater to all and it’s just a brilliant little restaurant

I am shocked to see the high reviews of this place. The atmosphere was so bad we left without ordering. It was deserted. It was not quaint or nicely decorated. There was a very strong fryer oil smell. There were 2 employees and one had a constant cough. We had walked 2 miles to get there based on glowing reviews…. We left the restaurant and googled restaurants nearby to find a lovely, cheery, well-attended cafe close by. I left a review right away -1 week ago- that I cannot find here now- only the photo I posted remains.

I can't understand why there are such high reviews, the hall stank of oil, employees coughed all the time. I saw part of the kitchen, it was terrible, I'm afraid to imagine what happens in the refrigerators. never again i ordered a sandwich it was bad. I hope I will not be poisoned

Great wee cafe, i just got my breakfast here this morning and will go back tomorrow morning. Food was freshly made and served hot. Service was excellent with a bit of banter

It's been for us the best breakfast so far. Good ambience, good food, not noisy staff, well done for the lad with ginger hear, that make the start of the day a very good day, absolutly well done, keep working as hard as you do, you have a great personality.

Very cute and quaint place. They managed to squeeze us in even though they where busy and we where 5 people. The food is really good and the portions large. The playlist was nice and mellow. A really nice place to have breakfast!! ☺️❤️

I have been coming to Cafe Marmalade for about 9 years. Offering great service, good coffee and excellent food, and now with gluten free scones, which were great by the way.

This place was awesome! So friendly and perfect food. Loved bringing our dog, and they were so kind to her.

We really enjoyed this place, the homemade dishes are prepared with care.

We picked this vegetarian café flying a rainbow flag because it had good Google reviews and was by the Leith harbor. We enjoyed a cappuccino and latte with a scone and shortbread for our first vacation breakfast. The service was friendly and attentive. It took us a minute to figure out how to tap and pay on their device. We stopped outside to take a photo and decide on our next destination. Our delay was a good thing. We had forgotten our purple day pack, and our server ran out to give it to us

Small, nice with a somewhat outdated but very loving furnishings and matching 70s/80s music. In addition, great service and a perfect club sandwich + a very good café gave us a perfect start to the day. Thank you!!! If you're in the city and want to get off to a relaxed start, you should definitely stop by here!

Great time this morning at breakfast! The typical breakfast plate was excellent, as was the salmon omelette! Value for money, nothing to complain about! The service and welcome were very good, there was even an effort to speak to us in French!!! We recommend without hesitation and will come back if the opportunity arises!

Great place for a good Scottish breakfast. Really tasty produce and with friendly service, what more could you want? Also saw it has a good selection of other lunch items and was popular with locals which again is a good sign. Definitely recommend for late breakfast or lunch.

A good coffee and a comfortable place

What an excellent place! We moved away from the shore for a while and just moved back and made it an event to come here because it's so great! The kindest people, tons of vegan options for my girlfriend, delicious food. Amazing to get top notch morning rolls at 2pm! Coffee is excellent. Haven't had a bad meal! So great!

We had breakfast here after finding good reviews on Google. We were not disappointed. The staff were very hard working and attentive. The food was well presented and well worth it. It was delicious and the full Scottish breakfast filled us up for the entire day. I would highly recommend it. Thanks to the staff for your hard work and service 👌👌

We choose marmalade as the photos of the food online looked great, we weren’t disappointed. We were sat down straight away, the service was great, and the breakfast really hit the spot.

Me and my daughter came here last week for the first time. On arriving we were seated straight away. What we had to eat was lovely. Staff are friendly and the place is spotless. Will definitely be back.

I really enjoyed my first visit to Cafe Marmalade. The staff were very accommodating and helped us make a larger table for our party of 6. They also were happy to substitute items in the amazing Scottish breakfast which is always a plus as someone who doesn’t like eggs! I will be revisiting Cafe Marmalade in the future.

Fantastic little cafe in Leith. Popped in for a coffee on a Saturday then went back for breakfast on Sunday. Lovely, friendly service and terrific food and drinks. Can't recommend this place highly enough and I'm annoyed that it has taken me this long to visit.

Scottish breakfast was delicious and filling. The latte and americano was also delicious. Such a great breakfast spot for a quick and causal brunch. The service was very good as well, the workers were all very friendly and kind. The ambiance was great too, a fun quirky little place.

5* Cafe Marmalade a family friendly cafe. We had a 3 generation family breakfast all requirements met, veggie haggis, non coffee chai latte, build your own breakfasts, reserved table for 10 and quick service for half the party catching a train. Thank you Cafe Marmalade.

We meet up for breakfast about once a month and have done for a few years now and I can't think of anywhere we have been that could beat this breakfast.

Went with family and friends as a treat, and we had a lovely full breakfast. They catered for our large group with friendliness and good service. Dropped a star just due to the openness , but that’s more of a personal thing. Can’t fault the food or service and at a fair price.

I went there last year as my family gave me a trip to Edinburgh as my 30th birthday. I am vegetarian and ate a delicious scottish breakfast there. Who would have thought plant-based bangers could be so good!!! I thought I was doomed to eat things that taste too strong or are too bland. The lady working there is very nice too! If I ever return to Edinburgh I will go back to this cafe!!

A wonderful dog friendly cafe where my pooch was pampered with treats by the staff. Really friendly staff, great food and very accommodating. Definitely worth a stop to wet your whistle or fill your tummy.

I can see why this gets great ratings as the food was good and the service was superb. However the kitchen is open plan and the whole place was filled with smoke and the smell lingered with me the rest ofvthe day . At one point my friend asked for the door to be opened as her eyes were streaming . OK place to eat if you stumble across it, not worth making a trek across the city if you're not close by.

The owner was very lovely, the food amazing (good quantity and good price), the playlist very enjoyable and the atmosphere of the café quite relaxing. We recommend this place if you are looking for good food and nice people!

Quite a traditional style cafe with all the usual foods, well made and at a good price. The staff really make this place though, they are friendly and accommodating. I've only been twice so far but have enjoyed both times, definitely will be going again and would recommend Marmalade to others looking for a homely style cafe.

Excellent place for coffee and breakfast. Staff are extremely friendly and the service is super quick. Menu is small but power packed. We ordered the BLT sandwich and the Club sandwich. The ginger bread we ordered tasted great too. Cash and cards are accepted and there's free wifi. The ambience is cute too. Limited seating so make sure you are okay to sit close to others. Parking is non existent. So prepare to walk a little from the closest parking spot.

This was a really nice stop for some breakfast. Had to wait for 5 mins or so for a table but very much worth it. The place was really friendly and felt very homely. Full Scottish was freshly made and really good, great value and will be back!

Really enjoyed our breakfast! Definitely one of the best we have had. The staff were lovely and so attentive. We came to use an itison voucher which didn't work (not the fault of the cafe) but everything was so delicious with amazing service, we will definitely return. Added bonus that its dog friendly!
