We came here on a day trip to Glasgow from Edinburgh. The place had amazing reviews so it was definitely on our list and I can say it exceeded expectations. He had set lunch menu with house wine and the execution is on point and prices are more than fair

One of the best restaurants in Glasgow, by a long shot. The 2-dish menus are good and not particularly expensive for the quality. Definitely recommend.

Outstanding food, absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. Cosy atmosphere, there's not much space, but my focus was on the plates in front of me, not the table behind me. Lovely friendly wait staff too. Will DEFINITELY be back.

A wonderful, if rather small, restaurant. Excellent food, friendly and helpful staff. Service was prompt, but unhurried and the price is very reasonable for the quality of the dishes. The menu is not extensive, but all of the dishes are lovely.

I think their dishes showcase an impressive balance of flavors. For example, the appetizer OLD WINCHESTER CUSTARD, SAVOURY GRANOLA, RED ONION MARMALADE, APPLE exemplifies meticulous attention to flavor structure. The slight acidity and sweetness of the red onion marmalade effectively softened the rich and heavy notes of the Old Winchester custard. Without the marmalade, the combination of custard and granola might have felt overly rich and one-dimensional, leaning too salty. However, the addition of the marmalade and apple not only brought a refreshing lightness but also added layers of fruity sweetness and acidity, creating a harmonious and multifaceted taste experience. As for the main course, STRIPLOIN OF SCOTCH BEEF, POTATO FONDANT, OYSTER MUSHROOM, TENDERSTEM BROCCOLI, BLACK GARLIC PUREE reflects a well-thought-out balance of flavors. Although the choice of the lean striploin cut might seem a bit mild for those who prefer more marbled meat, it makes sense in this pairing. The accompaniments and the black garlic puree already have robust and rich flavors, and the firm texture of the lean beef provides a counterbalance. If a fattier cut were used, it could have made the dish overly heavy. The other main dish, FILLET OF NORTH SEA COD, ROASTED JERUSALEM ARTICHOKES, POMME PUREE, PICKLED GRAPES, MACADAMIA CRUMB, VERJUS, left a particularly strong impression due to its delicate texture and juicy tenderness! I suspect the fish was likely brined, which helped retain moisture and gave it a nice elasticity. Paired with the crispy macadamia crumb, it offered a striking contrast in textures. This thoughtful design was reminiscent of the classic “bean-crusted cod,” but elevated with refined, modern techniques.

The best restaurant I ever had in Glasgow so far. The food is amazing and waitresses are very friendly. They also have Christmas specials 3 course meals. The space is limited and need reserve your table as early as you can.

Second time here with friends, the menu was lovely, a great selection 2 meat 2 fish and one vegetarian main. Everything was delicious, the standard was exceptional. Service was friendly and not rushed.

Honestly, my favourite restaurant in Glasgow. Never disappoints.

Excellent Christmas lunch for 4 people. We enjoyed mulled wine, tea/coffee as part of our meal, as well as pulling Xmas crackers. Our waitress was very patient and we were welcome to stay as long as we wished. Food was first class and all in all it was a lovely experience. We will definitely be back.

Great selection , food was delicious.service was very good . The bread roll was disappointing it felt very cold as if it had been frozen and no brown rolls . £43 for a bottle of Prosecco I thought was expensive but the rest of the prices were reasonable for the standard of food.

We enjoyed Number 16 restaurant in early December for a family celebration. The food was of the usual high standard I have enjoyed at this restaurant on several occasions. However I would like to single out the quality of service for particular praise as this was quite exceptional. Staff were extremely and knowledgeable and went out of their way to make our experience a memorable one. A thoroughly enjoyable experience.

We are a group of 14-16 Diners who meet 2 to 3 times a year to enjoy good food and share tall tales. On 1st December, 2024 we enjoyed perhaps our best dining experience in the 4 years our group has been in existence. The quality of the food and the wonderful service could only be matched by the general atmosphere created upstairs on the mezzanine floor. Without reservation, i would wholeheartedly recommend No 16, Byres Road.

I eat here every couple of months. The food is always excellent - I have never had a dish that was not delicious. The size of the restaurant means that the service is always good and eating there feels more like a family meal that a commercial experience.

My friend and I had two different starters and two different mains, all four were really good. The staff was friendly, in a genuin way. The restaurant was small, but not cramped. Would like to go back sometime!

We both had the 3 course lunch and all courses were delicious. The delicate salmon first course was my favourite. And, the cauliflower side with the main course never disappoints. Another splendid meal from Number 16!

I’ve been to this restaurant on a number of occasions and it’s always fabulous. The menus change regularly and the food is always delicious. Staff are really helpful and friendly and there is always a cosy atmosphere.

Wonderful experience eating here. Small and cosy with a huge warm welcome. The food is exquisite, art on a plate but perfect sized portions. Excellent value for the standard of food delivered. Drinks menu offer extensive range at very competitive prices when compared to other places in Glasgow. My favourite place to eat.

Dined here last night with a party of 4. Probably the best meal I’ve ever had in Glasgow. Small but cozy space with low noise levels do conversation was a breeze. All the good was excellent, some very subtle flavours and lovely combinations of ingredients. We had three superb wines, a Sauvignon Blank, An Amarone, and a delightful Australian desert wine. Service was on point and we had a lovely overall experience. We will defiantly be returning. Thanks so much to all the staff, front of house and behind the scenes for an excellent meal and experience. 🙏

Small but good, well worth a visit

Great little place squeezed into a fairly small place but with a mezzanine it manages to pull of feeling much bigger than it is. Food was excellent and not excessively costly either.

The menu is always has great choice - great sides too! Delish desserts! It’s one of our favourites in Glasgow and has been for the last 5 or so years.

This was my first visit to Number 16. I had heard so many people rave about it, so decided to see for myself. I was not disapoointed! What a lovely restaurant, and what an amazing meal! There was a lovely atmosphere, the service was excellent and I can't wait to go back!

We wanted a special restaurant for a special university reunion 40 years on and we certainly found it. From the minute we walked in until we left the service was great (waited patiently as we kept talking), food was top class & drinks flowing. A special shout out to Emma who went out her way to do us a wee thoughtful favour which means we shall return for our next reunion which can't come soon enough. Many thanks!

Had my best meal here out of recent travels around the UK. The restaurant was laid back and cozy and the food was fantastic. I had the cod w. roasted cauliflower and light curry sauce and it was perfect and delish. Got a recommendation from some locals down the block from a pub to go there and glad I did. Highly recommend.

Excellent small restaurant. First visit here for my wife’s 50th birthday lunch and we were not disappointed. Food was amazing, service was excellent and nice touch by the restaurant to provide two complimentary glasses of fizz for the occasion! Lovely intimate venue with nice relaxed atmosphere. Highly recommended and we’ll definitely be back to try out the rest of the menu. Easy 5 stars.

A great little place on Byres road, the food is great, the ambiance was cozy, will definitely go there again.

The food was really delicious with a lot of flavours from the different sauces and combinations of ingredients. The lunch menu dishes are really worth the price and the presentation is beautiful as well. The waitress was really lovely and the service high quality. A really great experience, I'll definitely recommend it to friends and come back.

Everything was absolutely marvellous. The pan fried duck melted in the mouth like butter and the service was outstanding. Will absolutely be back!

One of our favourite restaurants when visiting Glasgow. Interesting and top quality food. It’s an intimate restaurant on two floors with attentive service. Relaxed atmosphere and despite the high quality is not overly formal. If you’re in the west end and you are looking for somewhere to enjoy a meal and your company then this is the place to go. You should book in advance, their online booking system works fine. Enjoy!

I'm the general manager of a 24 seat fine dining restaurant in Cambridge, MA and my amazing chef sent me here while in Glasgow, along with a gift certificate (thanks, chef!). What an incredible night. The farm to table menu was outstanding and I wish I had been able to try every single dish. I loved how they've modernized Scottish food, while using simple, local ingredients. Service was excellent and the cost was about $100 less than we expected. Not stuffy or pretentious at all and the food feels nourishing and full of love. What they are able to do here in this tiny space is incredible. Definitely a must if you love fine dining in a cozy atmosphere.

We had the set lunch (£24 or £30 for 2 or 3 courses). It was excellent value, given the quality of the food. Really different and interesting flavours, with excellent service to complement the food. The only very slighy issue is that the restaurant is small and slightly cramped, but don't let that put you off this excellent place. Highly recommended.

This is a lovely little restaurant in the heart of the West End. Amazing food, great service and a nice cosy atmosphere. We've been a few times and can thorough recommend to anyone looking for good food.

Went solo for lunch and had the 3 course option. I knew it would be amazing when they brought me a fresh baked bun with the butter and oil and vinegar. Every bite of every course was delicious.

A lovely lunchtime meal from the Set Menu.Three courses were all impeccably cooked with a special shout out to the chefs for the cheekily spiced jerk chicken, which was marvellous. Service was top notch too. Strongly recommend this little bistro and we will be back.

Another good experience with great food and service. All 3 courses very good.

The only time we could get a table was 9pm. This meant that the meal was rushed. Our starters came very quickly and the main courses arrived as soon as our starters were cleared away. It felt very much as if the kitchen was closing and they wanted us fed and out of there as quickly as possible. So why offer a table at 9pm? The beetroot and goats curd starter was very nice but then the venison main course also came with quite a lot of beetroot so it was quite a beetroot based meal. The venison and jus was absolutely delicious. The goats cheese ravioli was nice but the goats cheese fillings was stingy.

All perfect. I'm very Happy to choose this restaurant.

Really enjoyed our visit today . All the food was high quality and well cooked and presented. Loved the cod the curry sauce which tasted amazing. My husband chose the cheeseboard to finish and normally dislikes blue cheese but he loved it and the other cheeses and his main and his starter.We even loved the latte . A wonderful little gem, with imaginative food and a lovely intimate space.

No 16 is an exceptional restaurant with a cosy (very cosy; it's pretty small) ambience, an outstanding menu, lovely attentive and knowledgable staff, and a commitment to ensuring diners enjoy their experience which extends to the chef making versions of dishes that exclude specific ingredients that are disliked or which can cause allergies, on request, and even one fully bespoke dish (which was suggested by No 16, not requested). It's not cheap, but it's an absolute find for special occasions.

2nd visit to this Restaurant. Amazing. Food. You have to book. Close to Kelvinhall Tube. Beer and wine was especially nice too.

Excellent and cozy. Olives and beef carrpaccio to start were both amazing. Red deer and duck mains were so delicious. Servers were friendly, knowledgeable and attentive. Highly recommend!
