The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

We stayed at Premier Inn Edinburgh Park earlier this week. If you’re using sat nav be careful you don’t end up on the wrong road!!! Ours sent us to a barriered private road, which I think belongs to the railway. We checked in ok thanks to the lady on the front desk. We booked a PremierPlus room. Was it worth it? Just about I think. It was very handy having a (small) fridge in the room. The rooms AC was excellent. The train service into Edinburgh is excellent taking less than 10 minutes to get to Waverley, and the station is only 2 minutes walk from the hotel. Now the bad part. Our breakfast on the first morning was disgraceful. The sausage was ok, the bacon was just about inedible, it tasted dreadful. The black pudding was swimming in grease on the serving plate. The scrambled egg looked like it had been on the hot counter for hours, but actually it tasted ok. Beans, mushrooms and fried eggs were all dried up. Shocking. We didn’t eat there again during our stay.

Adorable pub. Has live music ever night. We just went in for drinks. They have a really nice selection of Scotch, Gin, Vodka and Beer. They do have non-alcoholic beers as well. The food selections sounded cool but the chef was out sick, so we went next door for dinner.

Food is usually very good tonight soup was watered down and the Lasagne was dried out and burnt on underside edge breakfast was cold and greasy

Luego nos dirigimos a nuestra mesa en un salón oscuro a nuestra mesa poco iluminada, pedimos un refresco que llegó sin hielo y sin hielo en el vaso... ¡Así que la hora de la comida se conforma con buñuelos crujientes de cerdo y maíz! 10 minutos después no dijeron nada de buñuelos de maíz... ... . los entrantes llegan 3 / 10 para el aspecto y la presentación 6 trozos finos cortados sobre trozos crujientes flotando en una piscina de salsa de soja salada y el cerdo estaba muy lejos de ser salado, luego a la haggis mini Bon Bon Niza n crujiente pero montado en 4 pulgadas de espesor y plato completo de algún tipo de mostaza de miel mayo en lugar de una pequeña cucharada lateral pide una botella de agua helada nope por supuesto no agua tibia no hay hielo de nuevo para enfriarla... ... . Pasan 10 minutos después de tragar una botella entera de agua y nuestras comidas principales parecen haber sido servidas a la mesa de enfrente como el tipo dice “¡oh Dios mío eso es muy muy raro! Era mío. Así que las nuestras llegan las minas era simplemente raro (medio) y mi esposa está sobre cocinado (medio raro) 3 hongos empapados pequeña cucharada de patatas fritas sigilosas y una pequeña olla de salsa de pimienta en grano agua fría, recogido No vale la pena el recargo de £ 5 en los filetes de £ 32. Así que en esencia no regresaré pronto, me gusta ver lo que como cómo se ve en el plato y en qué flota... Triste realmente como el menú superó la comida

We were table of 5 for food & drinks. Food was beautiful & really big portions. Service was excellent, really polite, cheery & chatty. Excellent value for money also. Highly recommended.

The local golf course where my mum lives. A nice little 9 hole course and a digital driving range, where the balls are a bit expensive, but the computer options make for a lot of fun & also good practice information too. Bar seems a little expensive too, but friendly, pleasant staff & good food though. Would definitely recommend.

Had dinner at the Chart room last night, family of 6 with each ordering all different meals , the food was amazing, everyone all enjoyed their food, choice of white wine was really good too. Very reasonable prices compared with some places. We will all go back again. Service was brilliant. Can't see us going anywhere else now.

The hotel is well situated for visiting the Edinburgh area & the Forth Bridges . The staff at the hotel were excellent especially Liam , Henry & Ben as well as the young ladies who served us breakfast who were also excellent , sadly I didn’t get their names . The breakfast was very good .

Fab little place. Great range of drinks friendly staff and outdoor seating.

Bone dry fish and reheated brick hard chips , will deffo not be wasting my money in here again!

Lovely place with deals on each night for guests..Food was great, service was lovely and wanted to mention Harshit and his customer service. If your staying at the hotel highly recommended and Thursday nights steak night is a must to try.

Never stay at this hotel. The restaurant food is delicious and large portions. My family use to regularly eat here every Sunday before Covid. After Covid there's a staff shortage that affects the quality of the services. I only visit the restaurant again because the hotel is closing on the June 2nd this year. It is sad to see the hotel close. Hopefully someone buys this hotel and turn it into an apartments.

Went in, and girls ran off their feet, and had a sausage supper, and a half standard/half special fish supper. Girls were lovely, and the food was outstanding. Best chippy in Largs by a mile. It's a bit chaotic, as all good traditional Italian chippys should be. Wouldn't go anywhere else. 5 star from us.

I asked for gluten free sandwich. First person on counter said do you want foot long. I again asked if that's gluten free, for which reply was "ohh, that's not gluten free. I will give you 6inch" after that she suggested veggie patty and order was served. While eating i realized it may contain something other than veggies, so I checked allergy chart and it had wheat. When I pointed out, Person who served and her superior said yes patty may have gluten but we gave you gluten free bread. Seriously!!! What part of gluten free order you did not understand!! No apology, no replacement food offered, they ignored me completely and I had throw food and leave restaurant without eating. Very bad service.

After having an awful experience about 2 weeks ago myself and husband were contacted from the manager Rhona with sincere and heartfelt apologies and assured that the service would never be like that again , she even gave us a voucher to use next time so that would come back and be re assured that this isnt how it is. So for our family of 7 we decided we would try again tonight 17/5/25 and we were blown away. We arrived and straight away we noticed a diffence , we were welcomed with a friendly and polite gentlemen in a shirt ( one of the managers) we then got sat through the wacky warehouse where we met a lovely and polite girl with glasses , she took great care of us , she came back multiple times to check everything was okay , the speed of service and bringing our meals were fast and efficent ,the food was out of this world , well presented and pretty d*mn yummy!!! our kids and even the biggest child ( my husband ) were enjoying themselves in the wacky warehouse, what an absolute change we seen from the 1st time we visited, my husband has now been able to experience my love for this place, thankyou to all who took care of us on our visit 17/5/25 around 18.00 got to say we left with our bellys bursting and smiles on our faces , we will 1000% be back, thankyou to Rhona and her team!!
