We dined at the Malmaison Bar & Grill and had a great experience. Aish and Charles were attentive and friendly, and made sure that our meal went smoothly and enjoyably. This wonderful service, combined with a relaxing atmosphere and delicious food, made our meal amazing!! Will most definitely be dining there again next time we visit!

Husband and I were staying in the hotel so for ease we ate here on the first night. The service was good but the food was very average.

We spent two nights at Malmaison, leith recently for a family wedding which was nearby. From checking in until checking out it was flawless. All staff were friendly and helpful. Rooms were a lovely size and spotless. Plenty of parking (free) so that was never an issue. Breakfast both mornings was delicious, we had full Scottish breakfast and eggs Benedict, both of which were delicious. Plenty of pastries, breads, cereals etc to choose from and everything was well stocked up even though it was busy hotel both mornings, we never had to ask for something that had ran out etc On the Friday evening we spent a few hours in the bar area, sampling their food and drink. The food was lovely, bar grub, burgers, chicken, fries, sesame bread etc and it was all delicious and not over priced. Personally, I had two delicious pina coladas and a few rhubarb gins, none of which were over priced as can sometimes be the case in hotels. On the sat morning we went a stroll and there’s a farmers market around the corner, some lovely stalls. As it sits in the leith docks, it was a lovely area. Some nice wee coffee shops nearby. All in all, we had a lovely stay in Malmaison Leith and wouldn’t hesitate to recommend it.

Had been to Malmaison for dinner yesterday with my friends. We were seated at the booth table suitable to have food and chat with my friends. So happy with the service by Niranjana , Aiswarya and the manager Sarath. We have had a fun and lovely experience during the entire dinner.

I had a delightful dinner experience at the hotel, largely due to the exceptional service provided by Aishwarya and Niranjana. They were attentive, friendly, and made sure everything was perfect throughout the meal. Additionally, Manager Sarath's presence and oversight ensured a seamless dining experience. Kudos to the team for their outstanding hospitality!

My mum and I came for Afternoon Tea, and after a slight problem with the booking system not picking up my booking, we were quickly assisted by Erin and Charles to sit down and get sorted out. They were fantastic, and their manager gave us complimentary cocktails as an apology. We felt this was extremely generous and they all took very good care of us whilst we were here. I would very much recommend coming here! The food was excellent, as well as the tea and the cocktails

The worst service and food in Edinburgh. We waited 13 minutes for a bottle of beer. The appetizer prawns were mushy. The salmon was a 2 ounce portion and came with 3 bites of potato. The wait between courses was excessive.

Amazing burger and chips and Steak and chips. All served with a smile and in record time by waiters Barnes and Erin. Would definitely recommend.

Stayed for two nights but want to comment on dinner on my second night, which was delicious. A mountain of prawn cocktail to start, followed by melt in the mouth ox cheek and then a very generous cheese slate. No less than I’d expect from my favourite hotel brand. The service from Barnes and Sanjay was second to none. Highly recommend and Malmaison hotel.

Dinner for my birthday and served by the most wonderful wiatress i have ever had! Aishwarya was an abolute 'delight'! I have stayed in 5* + hotels and this 'lady' surpassed all of them! THE most delightful, congenial, attentive and welcoming waitress with a 'genuine' love at what she is doing! Also along side her were Alex and Charles, both also delightful, and my xtra special surprise cake and prosecco was a lovely Malmaison touch!Than you! Have stayed before and will definately stay again! Food was wonderful all made better by the staff!

We visited for a work meal and we all had a great time and enjoyed the food and drinks very much. The only small issue keeping it from being a wholly outstanding experience was the time it took for the food to come out, it seemed to take a long time for the mains to arrive. The staff were friendly and happy to help and did a great job, and the chefs also did a lovely job on the food. Overall, I would definitely recommend the restaurant and would come back.

The food was really lovely, and I had one of the best cocktails I've had in my life. The ambience is what you would expect at a Malmaison, and the music is always at the right volume for a nice meal. Our only complaint was that we were served by about five people, most of whom seemed to be in training, so we were asked if we wanted something else or if everything was okay about 20 times during a two course meal. Twice would have sufficed, and it didn't seem like the manager (whoever they were - it wasn't clear) didn't know who was in charge of which table. Again, amazing food and ambience but service could have been smoother.

The whole thing just felt like a damp squib. If it one any one thing it would be understandable but it one was thing after another. From getting there and them not knowing where we were sat to book (I didn’t mind at the time and it was no big deal) but then after we sat down and ordered drinks we could not get anyone’s attention for food for over an hour. At which point when we asked to order they looked at their watch like we were putting them out. Our waitress looked like she was having a break down at points. When we actually ordered the food turns out the menu they had provided for us to scan when we arrived wasn’t applicable to where we were sat so we were given new menus and had to quickly read and chose something else. We wanted to order a second round of drinks and we actually had to wait a moment whilst she put her hand to her head and close her eyes. I felt bad for her and part of me wanted to ask her to pull up a chair and have a drink. She then ran off and ran back and it just felt frantic but we couldn’t understand- it didn’t seem busy at all and no one else in our area even had food. People were just enjoying a quiet drink. And we knew it wasn’t busy inside as we had been inside when we arrived as they didn’t know where we were sat. The food arrived and the cod goujons were pretty laughable for a main. £14/ £16 (sorry can’t remember which one) but they arrived and it was essentially 5 small fish fingers on a plate with a side salad. It wasn’t so much the price I suppose but also how hungry my partner and friend were after. My meal was nothing of note and felt like it had been rushed by the kitchen. Irish coffees were poor really. We did however stay right to the end and there was a woman who was very nice to us about moving us on without pressuring us so that was good.Our night was good because the company was good but the overall experience was notably poor. We only booked here as everywhere else was full but now know not to book again. The prices are inflated for what it is. The location is very nice though. I feel like if you can go pretty much anywhere else locally you will het higher quality food and better service.

Stayed over in the Hotel for business trip so was able to use the restaurant as well. Even with restrictions in place it was very enjoyable meal, food was fantastic and staff could not be more welcoming. Will definitely be back.

Mi amigo y yo fuimos a cenar el sábado por la noche. La recepcionista del hotel fue lo suficientemente amable, pero nuestro camarero en el restaurante era bastante distante y no parecía importarle si estábamos allí o no, francamente.Entonces, en el lado positivo, la decoración es realmente elegante y el espacio entre las mesas es bueno. El menú está bien, no demasiado emocionante, pero al menos había algunas opciones sin gluten lo suficientemente agradables. Los budines en particular, parecían tener una muy buena selección de novias.Para ser honesto, ni siquiera puedo recordar toda mi comida, era así de normal, pero mi amigo tenía los calamares y era como una chancleta de goma. Pasé a tomar una comida en un viaje por carretera por Escocia. Personal muy agradable y servicial, buen manejo del distanciamiento social y espaciamiento de mesas para comer. El menú era limitado (dado el estado de la nación) pero la comida estaba recién hecha y muy buena.

Usamos el Chez Mal Brasserie and Bar para el desayuno (3 mañanas) y para tomar una copa por la noche (1 noche).Si ha estado antes en Malmaison, el sistema de desayuno le resultará familiar, pero para aquellos que no lo han hecho, se sirve un "desayuno continental" que incluye yogures, cruasanes, fruta, granola, etc. Luego, debe pagar 4 por un artículo del menú de desayuno caliente. we had a gorgeous meal, with great wine and friendly staff. Whilst I don't like paying extra for veg and fries with a meal and I feel it should be priced as a complete meal, with extras as an optional, I couldn't fault the quality and service here

Decidimos volver a elegir el menú fijo, que tiene un gran valor y ofrece una diversidad de platos con algunas carnes, mariscos y opciones vegetarianas. Fue diferente a la vez anterior y, por lo tanto, tuvimos la oportunidad de probar algo nuevo. We stayed in a club mal room it was beautiful,spacious and so quiet! The breakfast was really good and sevice was outstanding from start to finish! Would definately recommend this hotel!!

Arrived late due to heavy traffic, received a really lovely welcome from KASIA and she kept her fantastic service throughout, a real asset to Chez Mal, Leith. All food very tasty and well presented. Lovely night.

Esta fue nuestra primera vez aquí, lugar encantador, comida normal y servicio muy pobre. Éramos un grupo de 13 personas y reservamos el almuerzo para 2. 30 pm. Llegamos a tiempo y nos llevaron a nuestra mesa. Nos preguntaron si queríamos agua para la mesa, esto llegó debidamente. Friend preguntó si podían tomar nuestro pedido de bebidas, literalmente tomaron el suyo y la persona a su lado, entregaron sus bebidas y eso fue todo. Casi habían terminado sus bebidas cuando regresaron, les preguntamos por qué no se llevaron al resto del grupo y el camarero dijo que solo ellos pidieron bebidas. Finalmente tomaron el pedido de bebidas y esperamos 35 minutos para que llegaran. En este punto todavía no habíamos pedido comida. Hubieran pasado 45 minutos más tarde (desde la llegada) antes de que se tomara el pedido de comida. Los entrantes aparecieron primero y me dieron un entrante que no pedí, le expliqué esto al camarero que respondió abruptamente 'sí, y me lo dijo', obviamente en este punto no estaba intoxicado, ya que solo tenía un agua y mi bebida acaba de llegar. Se lo llevó y regresó con mi orden correcta después de que todos hubieran terminado su arranque. Birthday dinner booked in advance from the recommendation of a friend. We received a very warm welcome upon arrival and were sat at a large round table. We were offered two menus, with the set menu very reasonably priced. There was 4 of us and each of us ordered a different dish, including a vegan main course (beetroot wellington). All of them were beautifully prepared, well executed and absolutely delicious. At the end we were surprised with a birthday dessert. Overall, we had an unforgettable experience and an amazing evening, we will definitely visit again.

Stayed at the Malmaison for four nights on a business trip. Had fully intended to try the local restaurants but the service and food was so we good, we never made it out. Big thanks to Evija for looking after us so well.

Enjoyed a short break in Edinburgh, staying in the Hotel. We upgraded to a suite and the accommodation was spacious and comfortable. We took our meals in the Brasserie. The breakfast was underwhelming. We waited 15 minutes for our tea to arrive. The continental breakfast buffet was not replenished, what passed for granola was laughable and we were not offered porridge. The breakfast service was chaotic and the staff appeared uninterested. When we queried the poor service, we were informed the Hotel was busy as if this justified our experience. Hopefully, Malmaison will address this.

We had eaten here some time ago so liked the venue so decided to stag as a celebration and link it to a visit to the Royal Yaught Britannia . Had a great day booked in and arranged an upgrade ! Fab room, nice night and very comfortable stay but the breakfast really let it down????? Slow slow service, poor quality /tasteless food, mess! Not what I would expect for a breakfast advertised at £17.00 per person - this needs to be addressed! We ordered fried eggs but got poached, eggs were hard not good enough!

A lovely friendly hotel. Nothing was too much trouble. Housekeeping were Outstanding especially Dillon definitely deserves a mention. Keep up the good work you'll go far.

I dined at Chez Mal last Saturday and had the pleasure of being served by Sarah who was amazing throughout. I had the soup of the day to start, chicken main and the tart for dessert and each course was beautiful.

We had 3 lovely meals at this restauraunt. I had a burger and 2 breakfasts on the morning of our stay at The Malmaison. It was so lovely.

Visited to celebrate our minimoon, restaurant lacked a bit of atmosphere. Food was tasty, the calamari was a bit chewy, but tasted good all the same. My husbands steak was Devine! As we’re the honey glazed carrots and parsnips! I was disappointed by the very small portion of scallops in my fish risotto... possibly only two scallops halved, however it was still delicious. The Black Forest Martinis were incredible! We enjoyed our meal, but was perhaps slightly overpriced.

Been here countless times and always, always enjoy a fantastic meal and great service (staff are always smiling and remember our names from previous visits). The service we receive is second to none and we would make special mention of Kasia and Evija. Kasia is always very attentive, makes sure we are made very welcome, comfortable and catered for. Evija is also excellent and, in addition to her usual friendly style, is extremely helpful when it comes to recommending wines etc. She is very knowledgeable.

Very laborious way to serve, 4 times we requested toast for 4 and had 4 halves delivered - not once were we asked to repeat our tea order - and the main breakfast was short on items - no apology - expect better for the money guys.

The venue its self looks stunning and the staff create much desired atmosphere for big events such the ones we attended to. It would be highly unlikely to experience any difficulties during organization or deliverance of the happening witch underlines high standards of the management and their attention to perfection. However the most visible professionalism noticed by me personally was with the Back of the House. Chef Dominik Mazur showed true passion for his dishes made to compete with the best Chefs in Edinburgh. Food presentation 9/10 Flavor and consistency 10/10 Knowledge of the trade 10/10.

Wir waren mit 14 Personen (davon 2 Jugendliche) essen und alle waren rundum zufrieden. Das Personal war professionell, zuvorkommend und sehr sympatisch. Die Speisekarte war sehr vielfältig. Die Einen hatten Catch-of-the-day, die Anderen Steaks oder Burger. Auch alle Vorspeisen und Desserts waren sehr lecker. Auch die Weinauswahl hat gepasst. Das Lokal ist sehr schön und modern eingerichtet. Die Preise sind insbesondere für die Menüs sehr günstig, bezogen auf die Leistung ausgesprochen moderat.

We joined Polish themed wedding reception and dinner. Food made by Chef Dominic the whole evening including service was great! We felt like in Poland for this few hours. bar very impressive and easy access for my auntie it was a great experience! Nice location and very quiet indeed. Will definitely be back to enjoy Scottish summer on the terrace which is a great addition!

We really loved the food here! Fabulous Kasia looked after us and really cared about making our meal a great one. We had a summer special of Spanish meat and cheese sharing platter and seafood paella and an excellent bottle of Spanish white wine. All was so good and at £50 for two exceptional value! Would highly recommend.

He tenido un servicio de brunch los domingos fue fabuloso, nuestro servidor Pawe? Fue muy profesional. La comida se veía y sabía increíble, la carne se estaba derritiendo en la boca con verduras frescas y las papas crujientes y esponjosas por dentro. Definitivamente volveremos. El chef Sergio explicó lo que había en el buffet muy impresionado con los altos estándares y la variedad de comida, este lugar es simple 10/10.

¡La ensalada vegana de tofu era irreal! El chef polaco Dominic (creo que así se deletrea su nombre) se tomó su tiempo con nosotros para hablar sobre las alergias de mi hermana, lo que es un chef joven y talentoso. Mi hermano comió pollo Kiev, la mantequilla estalló afuera después de cortarla. ¡Muy recomendable!

Modern, fashionable and contemporary, the Mal Maison is a very good Edinburgh Hotel. Whilst I am sure the restaurant is fine, why would you want to eat there when there are 2 Michelin starred restaurants within 250 yards and the best seafood restaurants in Edinburgh within 100 yds!

I was looking for an anniversary dinner for my wife and I and came across the Sunday night deal on the Mal Maison website. We booked the special offer for dinner and stay over. The hotel was very nice and the room was stylish and spacious. I had paid extra for the Champagne on arrival which was very enjoyable. The restaurant did not disappoint and as a pre starter we had the fried pickles, very nice. My wife had the scallops and a lovely steak and I enjoyed the chilli calamari followed by a duck breast curry which was very tasty. We washed it down with a bottle of Chianti Classico! All in all a great offer and we thoroughly enjoyed it.

We came here for our 8th wedding anniversary for a meal to celebrate.The atmosphere was relaxed.Food was amazing.We had 3 course menu.Every single dish was delicious.I had pea and broad bean scotch egg,Cumbrian chicken and rhubarb fool.The scotch egg was delicious,chicken was moist and falling off the bone.My husband had ham hock,honey and soy pork belly then mango and passion fruit cheesecake.The staff also surprised us with a lovely frangipani tart with a lovely anniversary message.All the staff were polite and very friendly especially our waitress Kesie who was lovely.Her customer service was 100% and she was so genuine and kind.She is a credit to the restaurant and we will definitely be back and next time we look forward to staying overnight too.Just want to say a huge thank you to all the staff.x

Stopped here for dinner after touring the nearby Royal Yacht Britannia. Very nice French restaurant with full service bar. Started with caprese salad, followed by pork belly and ended with crème brulee.

Had dinner here as part of a Globus Tour excursion. Often these tour dinners leave something to be desired, but NOT this one. Our dinner was wonderful with good service and tasty food. It's in a beautiful location and it was pretty inside and out It is located in an old fisherman's mission. For an appetizer, we had a plum pork dish, For dinner some of us had the haddock fish cakes and other had the beef Bourginon. Desserts were yummy eclairs and spongy taffy pudding. Not your typical "tour" food. Did not see their regular menu, but if the menu food is even half as good as this mea, then it, too, must be a treat!

Dined here when staying in the hotel on a Sunday stopover deal which required you to spend £75 in the Brasserie to get the room for £25. Food was nice but nothing special considering the price. We had garlic bread and calamari followed by a vegetarian burger and pasta dish and shared a pudding. Wines were quite reasonably priced. Restaurant is nicely decorated but the tables are very close together and the staff seem to insist on sitting people right next to you even when there is plenty of space so don't expect to have a private conversation.

I'm very big on customer service and the staff at the brasserie were incredibly attentive and no request was to big.

Lovely Sunday lunch with my partner. Very good value. Unlimited starters and a roast for £20. Amazing! Prosecco very good quality as well. Definitely would reccomend and I'll be back again.

Hemos tenido varios almuerzos de fin de semana aquí a lo largo de los años y el nivel de la comida lamentablemente se ha deteriorado. Después de la lamentable calidad de la comida servida en nuestra visita más reciente, es poco probable que regrese. El vientre de cerdo asado del domingo, descrito como un asado tradicional, era deplorable pobre: pobre, insípido, sin color, en un charco de grasa y seco. Lo devolvió y ordenó pastel de pescado. El chef debe haber dado un buen golpe porque hacía tanto tiempo que mi compañero había terminado su almuerzo. No acepté el postre complementario ofrecido en compensación. Sin embargo, los camareros eran impecables.

Chose to eat here whilst staying a few nights at the 'Mal' and enjoyed a superb meal. Attentive service soon had us seated with menus and drinks. My starter of Beef Carpaccio was very flavoursome but was topped by the main, a slow braised lamb shank bhuna curry which was flawless. My all time favourite dessert of affogato (served correctly with a shot of amaretto) was the perfect end. Overall a very enjoyable meal with good service and great food. Highly recommended.

We had a voucher gift to have lunch here. You can have as many starters from the starters bar. Then my wife and I both went for the sunday roast beef. There was 2 pieces of beef with a small portion of veg to share, and I mean small. There was 3 roast potatoes, thats one and a half each. I think the chief was having a laugh.

Enjoyed our meal & the stylish decor but best part of the evening was the outstanding service by Pawell B.

We love to stay at this place and its a regular haunt of ours,but in the past the restaurant has let it down,however on this occasion it was exceptional. The steak pie was a coup de grace. Champion!

Used wowcher deal for 2 course lunch. Think our table was in restaurant rather than brasserie, the dining room on right hand side. It was a bit disconcerting to find it completely empty on a Sunday afternoon at 230. Ended up just being the two of us the entire time we were there.

Siendo la semana de Navidad, nos hubiéramos preparado para hacer concesiones para los estándares, tal vez no ser de primera categoría, dado lo ocupado que estaba el hotel. Sin embargo, toda la experiencia fue excelente; la comida era excelente y el servicio prestado nuestro camarero Ewan estaba por encima y más allá de lo que podríamos haber esperado razonablemente. Una brillante experiencia culinaria durante todo el año. Gracias Mal, definitivamente volveremos.

Breakfast after Friday evening in town. We did not stay overnight her and only popped in on Saturday morning for breakfast. Great service, the full breakfast included the buffet. Good breakfast choice, great views and enjoyable surroundings.

Good selection of food, early bird menu up until 7pm was excellent value. Also had breakfast here both mornings very good service, food choice good on buffet. Small extra charge for cooked breakfast.

The food here is first class,varied menu and first class service. We will most certainly return here again when in the area.

Fui al bar en Malmaison esta mañana y preguntó si servían café y bocadillos a las 11 de la mañana, me dijeron que sí. Sin embargo, cuando fuimos a sentarnos en un bar/restaurante completamente vacío nos dijeron que no podían sentarse en las mesas que se establecieron para el té de la tarde, que era normal a cada mesa. Nos dijeron que podíamos sentarnos en mesas de café o mesas altas con taburetes de bar. Nos preguntó acerca de esto y nos finalmente 1 mesa normal frente a la entrada, sinceramente pensamos que había sido transportado a los años 50 donde las mesas estaban preparadas para el té de la tarde a las 11 de la mañana y nada podría cambiar eso. Tuve recuerdos de hace años malmason ser y quedé muy decepcionado. No encuentro acogedor.

Fui hoy para repetir la visita para el brunch del domingo. Mesa de entradas parecía abundante pero le faltaba algo en una minuciosa inspección especialmente atractivo. Principal estaba tibia carne asada con un yorkie preparado. Las zanahorias eran sobre todo lo que tenía de positivo. El servicio era irregular preguntando lo que queríamos para beber cuando no tenía siquiera sentó o miramos el lista de vinos no volver hasta entonces estábamos comiendo los entrantes (decidimos cavar después de esperar cinco minutos. ! ). Duda volveremos.

Fuimos en el bar con la familia para ver si este lugar. Decepción absoluta! Pedimos una jarra de té para una estándar y una pinta y media de cerveza Heineken. Té era buena pero luego lo equivocados puede conseguir té es sólo agua caliente y una bolsa de té! Cuando el Heineken llegamos mi pareja y yo tuvimos un mal sabor y dijo al instante las tuberías no estaban se limpiaba. . . Es digestivos pudriéndose lager! No sirven un vaso de pinta, ya que era un schooner que es 2 / 3 una pinta y para cualquiera cuyo estado en Australia es cómo lo sirven! Pero creo que mal malmaison puede servir un gut schooner pudriéndose en el costo de una pinta! Mi compañero se acercó el hombre del bar para decir que estaba mal y que él sabía que no estaba acordado y buena, pero él no parecía saber cuando tuberías limpiar! Entonces, él aceptó darnos dos botellas de Heineken. Este sabía mucho mejor. . . Sin embargo, el hombre del bar parecían querer cobrar £9. 00 para las dos botellas! Al final sólo nos cobraron por dos media caña. Incapaz de comprender lo que la camarera con un acento escocés dijo cuando habló. pseudo No es una experiencia agradable, no lo recomiendo y no volveremos.

After an overnight stay in the Malmasion Hotel we had our breakfast in the Brasserie. The choice from firstly the continental breakfast self served was very good then had a full Scottish Breakfast top quality food excellent portions served by pleasant and courteous staff to a high standard well worth the extra cost to your overnight stop to start the day off well. 10/10

Ate in Malmaison a few times, so decided to have a special lunch for my husbands birthday. Made the waitress aware that I was paying and if anyone else tried to pay to let me know. That fell on deaf ears, not happy about that. Also a friend had left a card and a bottle of champagne as I found out when I went down 2 hours earlier to hand in balloons. The manager made me aware. (Just as well) So when we arrived the card was on the table with no sign of champagne ! So had to ask ? Surely the staff should say that there was a card handed in with a bottle of champagne ? Only I knew of this, I left it as a surprise for my husband. The food was fine, but for £340.00 for 6 adults and 4 kids I would have thought we would not encounter mishaps like these. Emailed the hotel to say I was annoyed about these things but excuses were made and said next time we will ensure your next event will go smoothly.

Visited today for Sunday lunch.
