Never stay at this hotel. The restaurant food is delicious and large portions. My family use to regularly eat here every Sunday before Covid. After Covid there's a staff shortage that affects the quality of the services. I only visit the restaurant again because the hotel is closing on the June 2nd this year. It is sad to see the hotel close. Hopefully someone buys this hotel and turn it into an apartments.

We'd been told in a nearby hostelry that the food was good here, so me and the other half called in for a meal whilst staying locally. We weren't disappointed, the food was most definitely very well cooked and tasted delicious, apart from the little green bullets that were masquerading as peas :) - The service though, we had also been warned about and that wasn't so good, which had been hinted at. The dark haired young lady, I won't name her, could do with learning a few 'english' manners.

Came here for a fishing trip with friends decided to try a different pub to have a evening meal,,upon arriving we found our table and after 10 minutes of being seated they had taken our drinks order,,came back 10 mins later for our food order took the order came back 10 mins later to saying they hadn't got what we wanted to eat,,so we complied with them and changed our order to what they had got,,they went away again come back 10 mins later to say they still hadn't got what we had changed the 2nd time 3 times they said they hadnt got what we wanted,by this time we had waited over 1 hour for food and we was very hungry so decided we didn't want the meal after changing our meal numerous times so we left the pub to go and get a pizza up the street, to my surprise the chef and her daughter came running up the road threatening me sayin we hadn't payed for our meal to which we had never gotten the chefs daughter said you can get down there now and pay your meal aggressively!! we was threatened with the police and to never be able to drink in Annan again i had never been treated like this in my life and ended up paying £85 for food i never got,,I feel sorry or the other public houses trying to take business from holiday makers I've been coming here for years fishing bringing loads of men down here who spend alot of money if something isn't done about it the other businesses will be loosing out due to the queen's Bury hotels and there abusive, vile potty mouthed behaviour. We were staying at the corner house hotel and struggled to find somewhere to eat. Walked in to ask if they accepted non residents, wow chalk and cheese compared to our hotel. They had really made an effort the the reception area was lovely and welcoming. Staff were just some of the best I have ever met. We ate here both nights we were in Annan because the food was absolutely lush , great price and the owner and staff just made us feel so welcome. I wished we had booked to stay here, but for anyone looking for someone in Annan look no further. This is a lovely hotel with incredible service. Just recently moved to Annan and first time we’ve been out for a meal. Went for lunch, plenty of space and beautiful decor. Ordered a steak mushroom and onion baguette came with chips and salad garnish, all I can say is wow! It was absolutely gorgeous. Fresh, hot homemade chips and salad garnish was fresh too the baguette was perfect, warm but not too crusty and steak was lovely everything cooked just the way I like it. Only down side was I couldn’t eat it all! Fabulous atmosphere and service was impeccable, friendly but professional and safe, we were that impressed we are probably going to look at this hotel for our wedding next year. This hotel is under new management and needs time to complete all they intend to do so don't be put off because some of the property needs a bit of updating. Although we did not stay here as we caravan locally we were looking for reasonably priced quality food and found it!! Cannot praise the quality of meals enough that we had both from the lunch time menu and the evening menu. Everything was cooked how we like it. We had tried a few different places while the Eat Out was on in August and this hotel/restaurant was easily the best we found anywhere. There is limited space for dining for anyone with a dog (us) but the restaurant itself was fabulous. The staff truly complemented a very pleasant experience for us - without exception they were polite and very attentive without being intrusive. Will definitely return.

We chose to stay here for a winter break because of its proximity to the seabirds wintering grounds of the Solway Firth - not bargaining for the intervention of Storm Dennis! Still the birds were still around in profusion, though difficult to see through the mist and the mire! As to the hotel, it provided a perfectly adequate base for our weekend. It’s a bit tired, needs a good makeover, but the beds were comfortable, the water was hot, food quite acceptable and good value for money. The staff couldn’t have been more helpful and welcomed our dog who enjoys these breaks away with us. So overall we rated it a good choice for the occasion.

We called into Annan en-route to our holiday near gatehouse of fleet last week. Looking for somewhere dog- friendly for some lunch we called in to ask and were made very welcome. We were directed to a nice dining area and the staff were lovely and brought us water for the dogs. Food and service was prompt.A good choice on the menu +averagely priced. James had the sweet chilli chicken and I had a southern fried chicken baguette. His looked very nice +he thoroughly enjoyed it. Mine was very dry as it wasn't accompanied by any kind of sauce which was a shame.I ate without complaint as I was so hungry. This wouldn't put us off returning if ever we are in the area again,i'd just choose something different from the menu. We had been told the Queensberry had improved its meals and worth a visit. However service seemed to be as slow as it had been previously and although meals on the menu sounded appealing and appetising this unfortunately was not quite the case. Meals were an improvement on the previous ones we have had some time ago but not appealing enough to go back again and again. A shame really but still not quite up to standard.

Went to the queensberry with a group of friends for Christmas night out, food average, no fresh veg. Husband ordered a bottle of becks lager when he tasted this he thought it tasted a bit "off" on checking the bottle he noticed the Best before date was April 2017 .. Over a year ago! Rest of the group checked there bottles and it was discovered that in total 8 bottles were out of date some of which had already been consumed. Bar staff replaced 3 of the bottles but uninterested in refunding the rest. Obviously appears to be an issue with stock rotation ... Not impressed would avoid this place at all costs, if the beer is out of date then the produce could well be too!

We called in for lunch on Saturday while visiting Annan. The hotel looked a little grubby and the restaurant didn't look any better. I was amazed by the vastness of the menu. I am always suspicious when an establishment offers several dozen options for lunch. This this not include the "Specials for today". I ordered the trio of sausage on a potato and haggis bed. This was cafe standard and was light on the haggis. My wife being a vegetarian ordered the roast dinner but without the meat. When it arrived we were both surprised by the scarcity of the vegetables. There was one tiny piece of broccoli, a few carrots and eight or nine roast potatoes. We assumed that when one asks for the vegetarian option that the restaurant would add a few extra vegetables to compensate for the fact that there was no meat. This was not the case at the Queensberry Arms. We asked for additional vegetables which were provided BUT WE WERE CHARGED FOR THEM. All the vegetables used were of the frozen variety. At £19.45 for two very very poor meals this was not good value for money NOR quality. I feel that if they tried very very hard they might be able to raise their level to cafe standards. Definately would not eat there again nor recommend.

My wife had the three sausage selection with haggis mash and onion gravy. She said it was really lovely and the sausages wer delicious. Our friends also enjoyed their meals. The multi-item appetizer plate was pretty good. Since I do enjoy lamb and it was on the menu, I gave that a try. What arrived was an insult to the poor lamb. It was so overcooked, it had to have been an embarrassment to the cook but it was served up nonetheless. I got two forkfulls down before I called the waiter. I can count on one hand the number of times I've sent food back to the kitchen in a restaurant and I'm 60 years old. The one they replaced it with was every bit as bad as the first one. I paid my check and left.

Staying at the hotel so chose to book a table on a rainy evening. No one said that the staff would be so busy serving a party in the back room that they would hardly be able to cope with other people in the front part of the restaurant. Food is basic pub food, but good value at 310.50 for two courses, £14 for three. All food was nice, once we were eventually served (good choices of potatoes / chips and salad / veg / peas offered with any main. The chicken escalope was delicious. We stayed here as we're attending a party in Annan. Arrived at hotel around 7pm parked around the back in the car park and went up to the reception desk.Stood here for a few minutes whilst the staff finished there conversation about there friend who was expecting a baby.Having stayed before we asked to pay there and then as last time their card machine took an absolute age to process. So this time we paid by cash. I needed £5 change but the girl didn't have a cash register so was hunting for a key to the safe. She couldn't find it, then went to ask the chef, chef came through to show her where it was, then they didn't have £5 so she had to go through to the bar to get £10 changed to give me £5.She gave us our key and told us where our room was.We went to our room to drop our bag off and then left for our party.Came back from our party at approx midnight, we knew from our previous stay that the front door gets locked at a certain time so headed around the back of the building however we were stuck outside as we were not given the code for the door. I phoned the hotel to ask someone to let us in.We went up to our room and there was a horrid musty smell, however we just went to bed. I woke up during the night to try to open a window but the pulleys had been cut so I was unable to open it.On rising in the morning, I was actually disgusted with the room. The windows were covered with condensation and around the windows were mouldy and down the side of the main window. The bed was very soft and not comfortable. The decor in the room was very poor and in need of renovating. We were supposed to get breakfast we didn't bother, we waited at reception to hand our key back but as usual there was no one there so we left it on the desk and left.Enjoy the pictures

Stayed here for one night in November. Firstly the good points; the plug heater worked and the curtainless room soon warmed up, there was plenty of hot water but only if you ran it into the ancient re-painted and stained enamelled bath and didn't expect it to come through the shower head and the cooked breakfast was passable. This, plus parking off street and proximity to the river, added to the sufficient number of rooms to accommodate our party was just about worth £40/head.But what a sad tired old place. Damp mould on the inside of all the windows, damp on the walls, noisy bedrooms even after midnight at two floors up, compounded by staff who seemed to have no idea who their guests were making it difficult for members of our group to meet up!Sad really as potentially a really good location but needs a massive cash injection and intensive staff training.

My hot apple pie and pouring cream were then sat next to me as I started to eat my main course so obviously wasn't hot by the time I came to it. There was no standard to portions. Lite bites menu is not meant to be a big portion but where steak & mushroom pie was a fair portion macaroni was such a small portion it was barely there (the cheaper of the 2 I would have thought) The meals here used to be very good but standards are slipping fast. I stayed here a night and ate on two evenings. There is a confusing range of menus; it is worth reading them all because you can pick and choose from any. In the main two courses will set you back between 10-15 pounds, good value for money. Do not expect haute cuisine, rather, this is a hotel that believes in providing a 'good feed', exactly what one would expect and, knowing the area all my life, not dissimilar to what one would have expected forty or fifty years ago...things change slowly in the South West.

As the title says I actually enjoyed my meal once it arrived, but sadly we had to get all our cutlery replaced before the meal, as it was still covered in food. As well as that we had to wipe our own table. The place in general is in very poor condition, dirty walls, carpets, cobwebs everywhere, sticky laminated menus and on top of that the staff had poor communication with each other, food and drinks arriving at different times etc. A shame because the place has potential.

Took 10 minutes for the guy to come and take our order, I had to correct him 3 times as he was taking my order and he still got it wrong. I asked for a cheese burger with chips and coleslaw my daughter wanted sausage chips and beans. I also ordered a pint of cola and a fruit shoot for my daughter. What I got was a can of cola with a dirty glass. my burger was something akin to a dried up piece of leather in a rock hard bun and no coleslaw. My daughter got mixed veg instead of beans and her sausages were burnt black. The chips with both meals had the consistency as though they had been left out for a while then reheated in a microwave. I pointed out to the water that my coleslaw hadn't arrived so he promptly went round the corner and had a conversation with some one for 15 minutes before bringing out a small dish of cabbage with some mayo seemingly chucked on as an after thought. The whole time I was eating my meal the gentleman on the table next to me was still waiting to be served, the place wasn't even busy. Absolutely destructing food and worse service I wont be going back!

Called in for a teatime meal but was a little disappointed with the bar menu. After struggling to find somewhere to eat I was looking for a good meal. I asked the hotel receptionist if there was another menu and she said there's an a la carte menu.We weren't sure where we were allowed to sit as there was no indication of where we could go The menu is definitely not an a la carte menu.I would have called it decent pub food. My partner had the lamb shank with chips and veg and I chose salmon fillet with potatoes and veg.My salmon was overcooked and the veg was tasteless. I ate it as I was extremely hungry. Our 2 meals,2 cokes and a pint of Belhaven came to £28 which I thought was ridiculously cheap for a hotel menu. The girl from reception was great, she took orders, served food and drink, dealt with other staffs problems while manning reception. Why the young barman finished at 5 I do not know.He should have been there until 6 at least. The tables and placemats could do with a good scrub as they're sticky.I lifted my elbow and the placemat stuck to it This place could be fantastic if thought about.Annan doesn't really have much choice for food and I would be taking advantage of this.

Good variety of choice. A bar menu includes snacks, sandwiches, baguettes (hot and cold) and can be accompanied by chips or very tasty curly fries. An a la carte menu includes steaks, stir fries, fish, gammon, curry etc. A theme night such as carvery is very popular with locals. A cheap menu allows choices for the smaller appetite and includes two courses for about £6.50 or three courses for around £10. Children's menu - crayons and drawing paper provided for children. Several steps to front entrance, doors extremely stiff to open, staff friendly enough, menu typical bar food, decent enough selection though, several menus available including lunchtime special deal. Food was ok, nothing special, service was fine, had to pay at the bar which resulted in a wait as no one in attendance. Bill was reasonable enough. Wouldn't hurry back though.

What wonderful people, so very warm and welcoming. The staff were brilliant and eager to help especially in fulfilling the special dietary needs of my wife and went to great lengths to make our stay with them memorable. The breakfasts were well timed and cooked to order. The dinners were superb. We will be staying with them again on our next visit.

Excellent service, food was great but portions to big, best sticking to the light bite menu. Restaurant was busy with party bookings, so proves they have got the dining right

Have visited this restaurant a number of times across the years. It was once the place to stay and eat,40 years ago, but not now . I suspect the decor has not been updated for many years. Restaurant food while not poor is only of a low standard. The whole establishment should be closed down and refurbished and better quality cooks found.

I had eaten a steak here previously with a colleague, and it was lovely, so I persuaded my husband to eat here on this visit to Annan. Our starters were nice, but the steak special was very disappointing, rather gristly. Wouldn't rush back

Whilst staying in Annan for a few days i needed somewhere to eat, this place was just over the road and glad i dined, had the nachos to start and for a starter this was a really good size.Main course was the chicken strips in the creamy chilli sauce, chips and rice.Whilst a few of the chips had seen better days the chicken was absolutely gorgeous,a wee bit of a kick to it but nothing majorly spicy. If i'm ever in Annan again i would go here for food!Only minor complaint was i had to sit for 15 mins or so with my empty plate but as i had just had a great meal this wasn't a massive thing. Service before was quick aswell, with lots to choose from all in all a lovely place to eat.

Dropped in for scones and tea and ended up with meals. Plates full to bursting with good and fresh food. Interesting salads - and the freshest scones you can imagine. Staff very accommodating and helpful. Excellent location on main street. Parking a little hard to find.

I only came back here because I had good memories of the service and food from a while ago, despite the grubby and run down surroundings. Unfortunately I was disappointed, the service is still good and friendly but the place is even dirtier than ever and the food was definitely not worth it any more. Even the milk for the tea was sour. Sorry, but I won't be back.

We visited the Queensberry Arms whilst on a quick lunch break in Annan. Upon walking into the building, I immediately began to wonder if we had entered a time machine and gone back 30 years to when avocado green bath suites were trendy. I had the molten lava soup and carb special (Mac cheese, potatoes and peas). It was alright to be honest. The potatoes were a weird texture, and the Mac wasn't as cheesy as it could have been. Anyway, it filled a hole and for a very reasonable price too.

I stopped in at the Queensbury in the middle of a working day and almost immediately regretted it. Dated decor, sticky tables and a bemusing array of menus in plastic sleeves. I went for the roast of the day, beef. Reasonable price but there is no way that it was roasted that day... Roast of last week would be more accurate ! The meat was incredibly dry, I thought it was ancient papyrus.

Came to met friends for Dinner who were staying here. The place seemed very quiet for a Friday night especially as it was during Easter School holidays. No one came to greet us or take a drinks order we found our own table in the "restaurant".Tables were bare with no table cloths are were grubby and sticky like they had been wiped with a dirty cloth. When the waitress did appear she handed us filthy menus which had all sort of dried spilled drinks and ketchup over them.As we were a mixed group we had to go to the bar to order our food and drink in order to pay separately, it was either that or have one bill and try to remember who had what and what to pay.Not expecting much the food arrived and was hot and fresh and actually quite nice. I had the haggis stuffed chicken breast. Chips looked like they had come from the Café Royal up the road (Chippy) and one large portion had been split between all of us as there wasn't much on anyone's plate. However as I said, I enjoyed the food, but wouldn't rush back. The two girls who were staffing the bar and restaurant were very nice and polite, but seemed lacking training in how to serve the restaurant, doing what they could but not particularly professional. The whole place had a run down guest house atmosphere, rather than hotel ambience.

We ate here and finished our meal, the waitress cleared away and we decided we'd have another round of drinks before leaving. We waited 5, 10 minutes and the waitress never came back. I went in search of someone but couldn't find our waitress. I didn't like to open the doors to the kitchen. We waited another 5 minutes and my wife said 'this is ridiculous' and went off in pursuit. She found our waitress in the bar (was she watching TV, did she fancy the barman?) and asked if we could get some service. The waitress said 'the restaurant is closed', as if we were being unreasonable in expecting to be served a round of drinks. No, the restaurant isn't closed if you've still got people sitting at a table you're serving and you haven't asked them if they want a dessert or offered them the bill but simply buggered off. So we said OK, can we just pay the bill. Which we did, and obviously didn't leave tip. We won't be going back.
