The best restaurants serving British food in Scotland

We ate here last night. After having nearly 2 years of indifferent, overpriced, deliveries from other restaurants, it was a pleasure to dine here at Guido's! Can't remember when last had such a perfectly cooked fish tea! ( Probably last time we were here pro-covid!) Batter was everything s good batter should be - golden, crisp and full of flavout! Served with lovely chips, tea and a buttered roll. Great service, great food and spotlessly clean.

Had a wonderful evening at the Parkville recently and Linda and the staff were friendly and helpful. As per usual, the food was great.

Great location. Everything is accessible. The parking is good. I would have loved to know that the restaurant was Michelin star restaurant when I checked in. The rooms are nice however I would have preferred a firm mattress as an option.

Travelled from Hertfordshire, on a food pilgrimage after following Tom for quite a few years. Had the a la carte options - sublime - everything was top notch - from the cocktail, to the complimentary amuse bouches etc. - a phenomenal success of Scottish produce and cooking. Only 1 star? Seriously - have eaten at significantly less impressive 2 star restaurants - come on Michelin honestly. It's not a cheap night out, but honestly one I won't forget - and one I am already planning a repeat for.

I thought that this was going to be a five star review after the first two courses (which were wonderful) but there was a real drop-off in quality with the desserts. The Panna Cotta was over gelatinised and didn't move. The creme brulee was completely liquid. At this price range there are better and more accessible dining options in Glasgow.

Incredible staff! Great food, and a fantastic atmosphere. I was able to sit and write, have a few pints and a solid lunch and dessert. Such a wonderful place to go and hang out. Highly recommend!!

An excellent experience all round. The staff were friendly and accommodating.

We went for my niece’s 18th on 8th January. The staff were amazing and really made it feel like a special occasion. The food was excellent and at such a brilliant price. The atmosphere is great and the staff are just the icing on the cake. Nothing was a bother, they were friendly, attentive and efficient. It’s always great when servers know the menu well and can fully answer every question you have, even throwing in some recommendations when they establish your preferences too! Special mention goes to Michele & Alan…we hope you’re our servers next time we visit (and we will definitely be back very soon).

Great wee pub we got engaged in there 25 years ago

Recommended to me be the concierge at the Caledonian and did not disappoint. The Cullen skink soup, which I had never heard of, was just delicious. Smoky, rich, and perfect. The chips/fries were perfect! And the sticky toffee pudding with honeycomb on top was just amazing. Prices are also very reasonable.

We stopped in at this lovely little café on a really cold January day. The hot chocolates and cakes were delicious - just wish we'd stayed for crepes as well!

It's like visiting you Granny here - the food is wholesome & there's plenty of it! The only tiny downside for me is the lack of dairy & gluten free alternatives - I end up having the same thing every time I'm in - although they do have amazing dairy-free ice cream!!

It's nice to sit. Food is tiny portions and overpriced for what it is. Chai latte is divine, again a lot of money for a small cup.
