Stopped in for a drink prior to heading for the railway station, a few hundred yards away. It had the look of being deserted, but was just very quiet at the time we visited. There were no other customers in the bar lounge, but the barman made us feel really welcome and directed us to a comfortable lounge where we enjoyed our drinks. Prices were reasonable and the service was attentive. Good place for a beer before heading for the train.

Estándar totalmente no profesional.

Ambos estaban deliciosos. El servicio fue atento y oportuno. Sin duda volveré pronto.

We had our office Christmas night out here in December. Food was all preordered without any hiccups. Out table was set in the mid dining room away from the party disco. But this actually worked out better as we could hear both the music and the conversation! Meals seemed to go down well and the choice was extensive. I had the beef and enjoyed all though it was maybe a wee bit on the fatty side. But otherwise very good.

Attended a party night with colleagues in December. The 'party' night consisted of 3 tables (2 of them ours) and our table was in a conservatory section with very little lighting. Starter was ok, main of beef was nicely cooked medium, yorkies tasted a bit stale as if they had been cooked well in advance and some roasties were cooked others hard. Sticky toffee pud dessert had no dates in (which should be the sticky part) and the chocolate orange cheesecake tasted like it had been done with cocoa powder (bitter taste) not chocolate (the accompanying ice cream was delicious). Music was incredibly loud for such a small room and everyone soon moved to either the lounge or the bar.We actually left about 10pm. I have eaten here before and enjoyed it so was very dissapointed with the quality of the food. Not a great set up for a party night such a shame.

Si hubiera pagado 15 me habría decepcionado mucho.

Enjoyed lunch here, food was very good and service excellent. We had an Itison Voucher so value was excellent and included 2 courses and a glass of fizz.We ordered a bottle of water and 2 desserts as extras. A service charge of £4.20 was added to the bill. Now - we are not in America and this is my pet hate. If I wish to give a tip I will happily give an amount of my choice. Given we had a voucher we paid the service charge. However, I would like to know what I would have been charged if we did not have any extras i.e. how could they charge for a pre paid voucher. This has put me off returning even thought the food and service was good.

My wife and I had lunch here and it lived up to all that I’d heard about it. We sat in the well lit conservatory, looking out over the South Inch. The waiting staff were really friendly and helpful. The food was delicious and filling, so unfortunately couldn’t manage a dessert. The highlights were the smoked salmon, although it could have done with some oatcakes. The pork loin was melt in your mouth. The only criticism I have is that the waiting staff were a bit slow and we had to ask for our drinks a couple of times and when the water was brought out there were no glasses so had to ask for them. Over all, a lovely lunch. Would recommend and return.

We love 63 Tay Street and had been wanting to try 63@Parklands for ages. We arrived on time and were shown to a drawing room where we had a glass of champagne while choosing our meal. We were then shown through to the the dining room. Hard floors, eight tables and only half of them occupied on a Saturday night. I wonder why? The steers were over chilled. The steak - at a surcharge - was all right but lacked trimmings: one oil soaked mushroom, one small tomato, no leaves... venison main, again ok, but the loin ends were over cooked ... The ‘cheese course’ was a small triangle of a cheddar and an unnamed blue cheese - we asked the waitress and she said it was Hebridean - and some packet biscuits.

We booked Parklands as we greatly enjoy 63 Tay Street, Perth, its partner restaurant. The dining room had a hard floor and seemed to be a thoroughfare for waiting staff taking food elsewhere so the room was very noisy. The food was not really that great. To start, we were offered two rolls, one brown, one white and neither warm. What would have happened if I, too, had wanted a white roll? They were not baked in the kitchen. The starter was cold, as it was meant to be, but really insipid. My Partner had the steak which was all right, but nothing too fancy, and my venison haunch was overcooked at the ends. We left before pudding. Was it worth £125? No. Maybe the fact that there were only four tables in use in the restaurant on a Saturday evening should ell the restaurant something.

Again a fish I never choose. Two pieces of reasonably sized fish. Skin very red. The dish was again perfect. The cheese board however was a tad tiny. I have to agree with other reviewers' that while pretty to look at it did not show the same inspiration as the previous dishes. It was also lacking in the ain ingredient ie cheese. Two triangles smaller than processed cheese triangles with tiny biscuits. Most up market restaurants offer more choice. A cheeseboard suggests a selection not two small triangles.

We were given an Itison voucher for afternoon tea for two and were looking forward to our visit. On arrival we were asked to take a seat in the lounge - a rather gloomy area with low settee and table that was not very comfortable to eat at. Additionally, unless we wanted to sit next to each other conversation was out of the question unless we wanted everyone else in the lounge to hear! The afternoon tea is meant to include a glass of Prosecco each - this was not offered and we just assumed that this was something that had been stopped. However, when we were leaving we saw another couple being served Prosecco. It was a different server so perhaps the girl that served us just simply forgot! The sandwiches were very good but the selection of mini cakes (as per the advertisments) left a lot to be desired. There was two mini carrot cake muffins on the stand, along with a standard size almond type tart that had been cut in half. The other "cake" on the stand, which again was standard size and chopped in half, turned out to be a mini quiche! There was also a small glass of chocolate mousse each, which was thick and rich but spoons were not long enough to reach the bottom! The homemade scones were, hmm, nothing spectacular! We were there for less than half an hour. Even at the half price ItIson deal it was still overpriced for what it was. I have had quite a few Afternoon teas in my life and this rates near the bottom on the scale. Very disappointing.

The ambiance of the dining area was excellent with subtle greys with the decor. The lighting was just a little too subdued as it was difficult to see the beautifully presented food. The service was excellent, not rushed and without fuss. The wine choice was good and not overly expensive. All of the five courses were first class. Great combinations of flavours and textures and beautifully presented. The influence of 63 Tay Street shone through. An overall good experience. Highly recommended.

The food was beautifully presented as you would expect in this restaurant and was equally tasty. I opted for the steak as a main albeit it came at a premium and the meat was beautiful, melted in the mouth. Not somewhere I would go too regularly due to cost but perfect for a treat. Service was friendly and efficient- attentive without being intrusive. Drinks were well priced. I love the restaurant decor and the table cloths and candles - it is a really peaceful room to eat in. Great for a couples evening out.Toilets are very clean and well maintained - both quality hand wash and hand cream available - excellent. The only thing I would say I didn't care for was the coffee - really didn't have any taste but this was very minor in the scale of things. We usually don't bother with coffe and make our own when we arrive home - will do that next time.We really like 63 @ Parklands - much better than 63 Tay St is now - and feel it is really worth the 50 mile round trip drive to eat here - no better recommendation really!Delighted to recommend particularly for couples (main restaurant - there is also a more casual bistro). Having eaten at the sister restaurant in Tay St a few times over the years, we were looking forward to our stay at Parklands (Gourmet Break Kingsize, including Dinner and Breakfast).I have reviewed the hotel separately.Sadly, our Gourmet Dinner turned out to be disappointing, so much so that the 2011 Zuccardi Q Tempranillo turned out to be the highlight. There was a mix up in respect of ordering our soup course, which meant that my wife had finished hers before mine arrived. Our starters (Asparagus and poached egg for me and Crab mousse with salmon for my wife) were better than average, but the Mains, (Trout and Fillet Steak respectively) faired slightly less well. My wife quite enjoyed her pudding but none tempted me.As in the rest of the hotel, the staff were excellent (although, to my mind, hotel/restaurant owners should bar staff from saying "No problem", instead of "My pleasure" after you have thanked them.) The Americans have got a lot to answer for!!So, overall, although we liked the hotel very much, we found the meal disappointing, which surprised us, very much, having had excellent meals at Tay St several times.

I've eaten many a tasting menu before and this for me was just run of the mill. First of all I'll say that ambiance and service was excellent throughout the night. First course was was the salmon was very tasty, next was courgette soup but soup is soup. I personally don't think that soup belongs on a tasting menu as it's not memorable and doesn't showcase what the chef can do. Next was a duck dish with Pak choi coleslaw- duck was a bit overcooked as it wasn't pink but did come with a nice sauce, coleslaw was nice but it did not being on the same dish. It was 2 separate dishes. Next was same cheese and grape board- again a bit of a cop out- the chef and the restaurant can't possibly showcase their capability but serving a cheeseboard that doesn't require any cooking. Dessert was a pistachio cakes with sorbet and cream. 4 dishes arrived and 2 of them arrived with no cream which we had to point out to the waitress. Anyhow that was the best course of the night excellent dessert- well balanced and tasty. Overall it was a decent meal but would suggest that the chef could really show off a bit more and replace the soup and the cheeseboard- clearly the chef has some talent as the other courses showed glimpses of brilliance

I booked this on an ITISON deal and got 2 for £40. It was advertised as a 5 Course, tasting menu, 'Fine Dining' but this in all honesty is either a misnomer or the Chef had a night off. The menu was uninspiring, Smoked Salmon, Wild Garlic Soup, Duck, Cheese and to finish, Cheesecake. A tasting menu is where I expect the Chef to show his/her skills in the best possible way but at 63 if this was the best, I worry that the norm is less good and so ranks as poor. On this deal, I got the food at ½ price, if I had had to pay full price for this offering, I would have been less than happy. When you look at the menu, 3 of the dishes are cold so prep is easy, all they really have to do is heat the soup and cook the duck. I was really disappointed as 63 at Tay Street has quite a good reputation. If I was the owner of 63 Tay Street I would seriously look to this standard and re-consider putting my name to it. The smoked salmon came with an egg mayonnaise, (Inspirational...not) The Garlic Soup was good, The Duck way over-seasoned (I suspect the sauce was a reduction from a stock cube) The cheese, well you can't spoil a nice cheese and the Cheesecake, the size of a door stop. There was no subtlety, no obvious skill in the cooking or presentation and the menu choice uninspired. The Staff and the service was good and the Girls were really pleasant, but the food was a disappointment. With the support of 63 Tay Street I expected better.

I have stayed here at the hotel twice with work, but unlikely to stay again.Good bits:This hotel is really well located, a couple of minutes walk from Perth train station and right by South Inch Park, and a short walk to the river & north inch. The staff are friendly, however simple requests seem a little too much for them.Room for improvement:The downside for me is mainly revolved around food. On my first visit, I ordered Eggs Benedict. The menu has a tempting description of poached eggs with hollandaise etc, however when it arrived it was very small, and one egg. I expressed my surprise as the menu said "eggs" and asked if I could order something extra. Eventually the waitress got the owner who said I could have something, and the waitress came back to take the order. Cheese Omlette. Nice and simple. A mushroom omlette arrived. Sent it back, and they made me feel like I was an inconvenience, rather than apologizing for their mistake (not to mention all this time it was taking when I had a meeting to get to!)My last stay, I had an issue at dinner. As a single female away with work, I often will use the time to eat to catch up on work. I had a training video to watch on my ipad, and bought my headphones so I didnt disturb other guests. Unfortunately, the wifi does not work in the restaurant. My room was literally the other side of the restaurant wall, so I asked if i ordered, once it was ready, could I take the plate through to my room. I was told I had to pay £5 tray charge, even though I was going to carry it myself!!! In the end I made a mobile hotspot with my phone and managed to sit in the restaurant, and ordered a steak, medium. When it came it was overdone, with chips (I had asked for salad instead). The waitress apologized at the chips and pointed the finger at Chef, and then picked off, chip by chip, with a fork, the chips off my plate, right at the table.... I then got the salad in a bowl on the side. Fair enough, problem solved, however as I was eating my meal I bit into a long bit of burnt cling film/plastic. It put me off my meal & I didnt finish it. I told the waitress & again, she said that "Chef wasnt doing so well tonight..." She asked if I wanted to see the dessert menu but did not try to make amends for the plastic...At breakfast, at least I knew to ask for 2 eggs on the eggs benedict this time!Upon check out, the owner did refund me £5 off the bill for the plastic incident! £5?! I had spent just over £40 on food there. I actually felt insulted, and as it was a work trip which they paid for, it was little significance to me.If I had been spending my own money at this hotel/restaurant, I would be disapointed. As it stands, I am unlikely to stay again, even with work paying. I will look elsewhere. If they sort their approach to customer issues & are more understanding, and review the food menus and Chef, this hotel would be so much better experience.Other things to note:If you are on the ground floor, it is really noisy. This is an old building and the floorboards above creak whenever a guest above moves. Unfortunately for me, the guest above didnt settle until very late, meaning a restless night for me.Some of the rooms are a little dated or need repair. The room I was in had a faulty shower screen which would swing outwards, sending water all over the bathroom floor - really annoying. The room was very dimly lit, with one of the lamps broken.I am sure most guests do not have the same poor experience I had, based on the overall reviews, so perhaps i was just very unlucky.

Went for a one night stay at £57.50 per night each for dinner B & B and were looking forward to a nice stay. We were a bit disappointed when we arrived as while the hotel was nicely painted it was quite dull and a bit depressing. It has tried to look classy but in my opinion it has missed the mark. Our room was at the end of a few corridors and was quite adequate with a large well-appointed bathroom. There was NO tea making facility in the room which meant we had to buy or tea and coffee at the hotel at £2.50 and £2.00 each. The dinner was adequate but not as impressive as expected from the write up and my wife asked for well-done steak but it came cremated. The cauliflower was mashed in a compote dish but with the other veg there was no real taste to them. While our visit was OK we felt there was no welcoming atmosphere during our stay and it was WELL overpriced comparing the cost of the stay to other hotels and lack of warm atmosphere as it felt a bit like a holiday Inn.

Myself and my partner visited the restaurant recently with a Special Offer voucher we had for a 3 course meal. The meal was very pleasant, very well presented food and very filing with staff very polite and helpful. I think the star of the meal was the dessert which included a chocolate fondant with peanut butter ice cream etc etc. It was absolutely gorgeous for chocolate lovers. We would revisit the restaurant in the future.

The food was a delight in this restaurant. Not only did we get our three course menu but also had two courses added in between which were a delight. The staff were very attentive and helped us match a good wine with the meal. Where we ate the meal was lovely but missed just a little bit of sparkle and pizzazz. Would definitely go back and sample more treats from the menu though!

It was ok and to be honest nothing more than that. I've been to 63 Tay Street many times but I am now finding that the menu doesn't change very often. We were there for the tasting menu, and none of us were bowled over. Very tasty cauliflower soup, and the fillet steak main was ok not great, just ok. We thought the same ingredients kept popping up in various forms throughout the courses. The sweet was nice, again not great just nice. I honestly think they need to up there game because it seems like they are resting on their laurels a bit. So all in all ok, but won't be rushing back.

This was our second visit. Welcome was warm at reception desk but no-one offered to take our coats (happened last time also). Waiting staff very courteous, polite and efficient. Ambience okay but consevatory a bit cold even beside radiator and other table too close/ noisy for quiet conversation. Menu was imaginitive and food was mostly very good, however apart from main course, portions were tiny ...... I know it was a tasting menu and on a budget but still disappointingly small. Starter and dessert were very original and very tasy though. Overall a pleasant experience but if we had paid full price for the tasting menu I would have had to say something about the the portion sizes I'm afraid. Would I return and would I recommend, yes but subject to my comments above.

On arrival there was no one to greet us. Eventually we were seated in a lounge area but no one took our coats or a drinks order. Eventually someone came to take our food order only to discover (after the waitress had rolled her eyes and stomped off to speak to 'chef') that no vegetarian option was possible. My daughter doesn't eat meat but will eat fish so I asked if she could just have the sea bass without the chorizo cassoulet..... This resulted in more stomping & eye rolling and a very definite no from 'chef'. Really!? In this day and age no veggie option!? As we left there was an attempt to offer us the bistro menu but I'm afraid it was too little too late. We went to Pighalle and had a fabulous meal!

I purchased an itison voucher which cost £35, the total value £70, this was for a 4 course taster meal at this restaurant. On arrival at the restaurant we were seated in the lounge area and ordered a couple of drinks, we were then taken through and seated in the restaurant. We were seated at a table for 2. We were brought our amuse bouche which was OK, we were then brought our starters. I ordered crab risotto and my partner ordered wood pigeon. The risotto arrived at the table barely warm and on tasting it was like baby food, no bite like risotto should have it was like mush. I sent it back and it was replaced with the wood pigeon which in fairness was delicious.A table of 4 came in a short while after us and although there were several other tables available they were seated right next to us, meaning we could hear every word of their conversation. Not a good atmosphere when all you can hear is the table next to you drowning you out. I did notice also that this table were brought out their amuse bouche after the starters. I assume that they must seat all the Itison guests together, I'm not sure if the experience may have been different in the Bistro paying full price. I would expect to have at least 3 choices for each course on the menu, however there was only 2. The choices were very limited and definitely do not reflect the price at all. We were then brought out our main courses. I had sea trout and my partner had pork belly. I know that sea fish are generally salty however it was placed on a bed of samphire which in my opinion had been seasoned, the dish was very salty which overpowered the flavour. After finishing our main course we waited approximately 20 minutes for a waitress to clear our plates off the table and bring our desserts. There seemed to be only one waitress who was attending to both the restaurant and the Bistro. Eventually we got up and walked out, fed up of waiting and had a train to catch. A waitress from Parklands called me some ten minutes later, at which point we were just about to board the train. I told her to call me back today to arrange payment over the phone of the drinks which we did not pay for last night.I made a complaint to Itison this morning who I believe has spoken to Scott Edwards the owner. Scott called me today and I have to say his attitude was ridiculous. All he kept doing was talking over me about how the table next to us left a £45 tip and he tried to tell me the risotto was made to order, absolute rubbish, I have tasted firmer baby food. This risotto had clearly been made in a batch and microwaved, if not then it was overcooked to the point I found it inedible. It was also completely overpowered by lemongrass which was not stated on the menu. Scott was not prepared to take criticism of any kind and spent the phone call talking/shouting over me about how good his restaurant is, to which I disagreed and then he was not willing to compromise in any way. I paid £25 for 2 glasses of wine and 2 beers this morning with a card over the phone. I paid for the drinks however due to the bad experience I would have thought they might compromise and meet me half way but he wouldn't budge. He also threatened me with CCTV, not sure what he meant by this as at this point I had actually paid for my drinks. I did mention trip advisor and he hit the roof. He told me "I'll tell people you walked out without paying", yeah I did walk out, but I have at this stage paid for my drinks, which I did not have an issue with. If Scott Edwards thinks that this is an appropriate way to talk to and treat customers then I'm surprised he has a business. As a business owner it is imperative to be able to take constructive criticism not call customers liars.I trust itison as a company and have never had a bad experience with any vouchers I have purchased from you and I am highly disappointed with this experience. I don't care how many covers he has done or how much customers have left as a tip. I am entitled to have an opinion and think it's important to give feedback however it seems Scott Edwards the business owner does not agree.

My husband ordered lamb which was served with the sauce split. On querying the quality of the sauce the reply from the waitress was that it was fine when it left the kitchen. My husband did not want to make a fuss so suggested to the waitress that she should ask the chef if he thought that the sauce was in any way satisfactory. When the waitress cleared the plate he again voiced his displeasure which was again met with the same reply. He then asked to speak to the manager who asked what we would like him to do. I think that the answer to that was pretty obvious. Get it right first time!

This was our third visit and again it was really good. There is a beautiful beer garden/patio overlooking the south inch, seriously underused on the occasions I have been here. The staff are pleasant and helpful and the food has been great - good local produce and consistently varied menus and good cooking. All in all this place deserves to be much busier. It may suffer from a bit of an identity crisis - is this a hotel or a restaurant? Looking for a restaurant in Perth on Trip advisor wouldn't bring you here easily because its listed as a hotel - and that's a real shame, as its a lovely spot.

The food was delicious, very fresh with lots of flavour and well presented. The only thing I disliked was the salted caramel Ice cream which I thought was way too salty. The drinks are reasonably priced. The only thing I found a bit disappointing was the decor of the restaurant, the main part of the hotel is really modern and this part is very old fashioned and we were seated beside some really dusty shelves which was a bit off putting. If it wasn't for that, it's be a 5 star review.

Four of us went here for dinner using Itison vouchers. The food was excellent and the restaurant very pleasant. However unfortunately when removing our sideplates after the starter the waitress dropped a very large blob of butter on the polished wooden floor. She did not clean this up, even though we pointed it out to her, and it was actually a real slipping hazard which was still there when we left.In fact she walked through the butter when bringing our next course, leaving a huge greasy smear and it wasn't very pleasant to sit next to! As an extra we ordered tea and coffee which included petit fours at the end of our meal but the petit fours did not appear and the waitress disappeared so we were unable to ask for them. To be fair, when we went to reception to pay and mentioned this, the cost of teas and coffees was deducted from the bill. I think the fact that the waitress was busy in the other, totally separate, restaurant at the other side of the hotel is unfortunate as there were no staff around when we left and after a long wait we had to go to reception to pay. I was surprised that there are no disabled parking spaces, especially as the drive is very steep. (My son is disabled). It's a lovely place and the food, as I said, is great, but a special night was slightly spoiled by the indifferent service.

Bought the Itison voucher (5 course tasting meal for 2 for £39) and was slightly apprehensive, primarily around the portion sizes; we were not to be disappointed. When we arrived we were seated in a small lounge area where we were given a wine list and the menu by a friendly waitress. She came back and took our order and within a couple of minutes we taken to our table where our wine was waiting. The first course was brilliant - I had seabass in a light cider batter with small caramelised apple balls and smoked salmon - delicious, light and moreish. My partner had quail served in a strong gamey broth, with a quails egg and liver dumpling. Very strong in flavours but melt in the mouth delicious! This was slightly smaller than an average sized starter but this was to prove wise considering what was yet to come. Our intermediate course arrived in a tiny little pot. We removed the lid to be greeted by a steaming pot of mushroom and celeriac soup with a celeriac crisp. The mushroom flavour was discreet unlike some pungent mushroom soups I have had before and the little pot was enough to please the tastebuds.Next up we both had the fillet steak. The steak was huge yet cooked to perfection (rare for myself and medium rare for my partner). It was generously accompanied by a large mushroom, tomatoes, big fat chips and a lovely béarnaise sauce. One of the best steaks I have ever tasted - so juicy and flavoursome. Only downside is we were not given a steak knife, however it was fairly easy to cut as it was cooked so well.Next up was a cheese board. Only two cheeses (blue cheese and I forget the other) but came with oatcakes, grapes, chutney and a fruit jelly. Very refreshing. Finally we both indulged in the dark chocolate fondant with orange ice cream and salted caramel - out of this world! Bursting with flavours and the smoky dark chocolate was paired nicely with the fresh bursts of orange ice cream. This was all washed down with a lovely bottle of red wine. The waitress was brilliant all night, topping up our drinks and swiftly clearing out plates (without being intrusive). We were the first in the restaurant and there was 6 other tables by time we left - all looked to be very impressed by the food! This was a little on the pricey side - £7.50 pp supplement for the steaks and around £24 for the bottle of wine, however for a treat it was definitely worth it!! Top marks!

When we arrived, we were informed that no one else had booked into the restaurant and we were asked whether or not we'd mind dining in the bistro. We were informed that the food was the same. We agreed, and sat down and ordered a bottle of wine. It arrived having already been uncorked (rather, unscrewed) and tasted rather low-quality: surprising considering the price we paid for the wine. The appetizer I chose was the pumpkin soup, which was delicious. It arrived at the proper temperature and was flavored perfectly. The steak I ordered was fine, of average quality. The dessert was excellent. Everything, however, was quite expensive, and only the appetizer and dessert merited such a premium price. Perhaps we caught them on an off night, but I can't recommend this restaurant based on its high prices and average-quality product.

The quality of the food was brilliant. The starter of scallop and black pudding in a pea soup was delicious. The cauliflower and Roquefort soup course was a lovely combination and was served in a small ramekin which was just the right size for a 5 course meal. The main course was Aberdeen Angus steak and home made chips. My husband loved this. There was a cheese course next which was served with delicious oatcakes, grapes and chutney. Been going to this takeaway all my life, the food is quality, the sauces are deliciously and the service is brilliant; so please ignore certain people on the “Google review” who are just too obnoxious and arrogant even/especially for their & our own goods, as they spoil a genuinely tasty treat that you shouldn’t miss out on at all. Also the Creiff Rd chippy has some amazing pickled eggs which are the best, with their A-and I’m saying ‘A-class Gravy’ in a tub or slathered over your half battered chicken supper with a bunch of chips or battered haddock, it’s a explosion of flavour ether way and it’s simply.. divine. The old couple who’ve owned the business still and do work there to this day plus my parents used to go there when they were spry-‘er’, again the duet are a lovely duo that ken how to run a kitchen and fill a stomach!!! I’ve always recommended The Creiff Road chippy, especially when I leave Perth, as what I thinks, ‘is like the Anstruther chippy but from Perthshire’!! Totally underrated takeaway, well to those who’ve missed out on it anyways, if not, why no go support your local 5 star takeaway-cuisine again.
