Really disappointed having heard good things. We were treated rudely by the staff and the vegetarian selection was extremely limited. We had to return the main course risotto as it was cold, it was then returned to the table having been reheated in the microwave rather than remade so was still lukewarm. It was an expensive evening that was spoilt by the service and quality of the food. We won’t be returning.

Had breakfast and dinner here, and the dinners are fabulous. The food was very well presented by the chef. I had wild pigeon for the starter, which was delicious folkowed by lamb, which was melt in your mouth. The restaurant has a lovely ambiance and the staff were excellent. Met family members for a meal. Carpark was very busy but the restaurant was empty when we arrived and remained very quiet which was disappointing as it lacked atmosphere. Service was very good and food very tasty. Eating area and seated area in lounge could have been warmer. Only down side was the service charge which was automatically added to the bill and was 10%. Think it should be left to the individual as to how much to leave, especially in the current climate.

A well kept secret venue in Perth, perhaps being the restaurant within the hotel. We went on Saturday night before Valentine's Day and only three couples present in the restaurant, so nice and quiet but lacking in atmosphere. Food was excellent, we especially enjoyed the 32 day aged steak and the cheese board was generous. We will be back again

The food was very mediocre in my honest opinion. I had soup to start which was very nice. My main was beer battered haddock & chips with pea puree. The fish wasn't fresh and had never seen beer in its batter. The batter was soft and doughy not crispy at all. The chips were frozen and they served the chip scraps which made them appear desperate. Pea puree didn't serve any purpose at all. Probably made with frozen peas, no taste. This place may have won awards for their food but I think it maybe some years ago and dont think they have a cat in hell's chance of winning any award now, unless it is for disgusting food. The Lithuanian waitress was an absolute delight and brightened up a very dreary place. I would AVOID at all costs.

Had a lovely lunch here today for 2 of us. Started with a very tasty soup and excellent smoked haddock risotto. I followed this up with a Ribeye steak, cooked correctly with lovely hand made chips, mushroom and tomato garnish. My partner had Ossian beer battered fish and chips which was also excellent very fresh with a vibrant pea puree and homemade tartar sauce and again those chips. For dessert we has a Sticky Toffee Pudding and a selection of cheeses, both very good. Good selection of wines and beer. We have enjoyed this place for lunch and dinner. I may have entered this review under No68 at Parklands - same hotel just a different area for eating. Enjoyed lunch here, food was very good and service excellent. We had an Itison Voucher so value was excellent and included 2 courses and a glass of fizz. We ordered a bottle of water and 2 desserts as extras. A service charge of £4.20 was added to the bill. Now - we are not in America and this is my pet hate. If I wish to give a tip I will happily give an amount of my choice. Given we had a voucher we paid the service charge. However, I would like to know what I would have been charged if we did not have any extras i.e. how could they charge for a pre paid voucher. This has put me off returning even thought the food and service was good.

decided to try this place, as I have driven past many times but not been in, mainly because I live in Perth and we are spoiled by having nearly as many restaurants as lamp posts..... The setting and view in the conservatory is pleasant, the decoration is good, and the staff attentive. we had the terrine starters and chicken/belly pork. the food was hot, well presented and well timed. all was going well until presented with the bill. I have been to New York where the bar tender/waitress/bell hop will chase you down the street for not leaving a tip..... I can give the management a tip: in this day and age it is NOT really acceptable to charge a discretionary tip of 10% to a bill-it removes me from the decision process-did I consider the meal and the service good enough for a tip?

We visited here on our way home using an ITISON Voucher. On arriving we gave the man behind reception the voucher. Very muted response (no warm welcome). We went on to enjoy a tremendous meal served by a very friendly and efficient waitress. As we were leaving we thanked the man behind reception and mentioned how good the meal was. His response was to grunt as we left and ignore us (could this have been because my husband was wearing shorts having just arrived back from abroad). Or it may have been because we used an ITISON voucher and spent no extra money. A disappointing end to an otherwise very pleasant dining experience. (18/9/2018)

I rarely leave negative feedback on Trip advisor or at the time at the restaurant but we were so disappointed with the standard of food and the price of the drinks we felt we should leave an honest review of our experience. After receiving an Itison voucher from a friend as a gift for two people we booked a Friday night and Gave it a go. The restaurant itself is clean and tidy and staff attentive - but when it came to the standard of the food it was very disappointing and drinks expensive. The starter of risotto was ok but when it came to the main course it was a let down - we ordered fish and chips which was tasteless and greasy and having taken our son out-with the itison deal he ordered a burger. Both were the standard of very average pub food at best and at £16 for a burger you’d expect more! The drinks were expensive at £5.40 for a pint of beer and £9.00 for a mediocre Rioja 250ml glass of wine. We weren’t sitting enjoying the sights and sounds of the Royal Mike in Edinburgh, where you’d expect these prices we were sat in a very quiet hotel restaurant! Thank goodness we had the itison voucher thats all I can say. We will not be returning! And the chap at the front desk wondered why they were quiet and the people of Perth didn’t visit the restaurant. The reason being it’s very overpriced for very average pub food!! I reiterated these thoughts to the chap at the front desk and all we had was a sorry i’ll get your jackets!!!!

The restaurant had no atmosphere whatsoever, it was cold, the lighting was inadequate for dining, there was no background music, which might have helped, we were the only people in the place and it was like a mausoleum. The food wasn't good quality, certainly not for the price charged. We booked as we didn't know the area, but went out into the town afterwards to meet up with a business colleague and realised there's a good range of really good restaurants all within walking distance of the hotel. We actually decided to eat out for breakfast as we couldn't face the dining room again, and had a great breakfast at a lovely little Scandi-style cafe in the town.

I have always wanted to visit this place as I have heard great things about it, so my friend took me for a Birthday Lunch. First of all the car park awful built on a slope and difficult to get into a space after trying for several minutes I ended up parking my car behind the Station Hotel which I had to pay for, The Lunch Menu was very limited 3 or 4 options one of which was an additional £3.95 so we opted for Mushroom and Tarragon soup which was ok but not warm enough for me, the mains once again 3 or 4 choices one of which had a supplement of £6.95. we had some sort of Pork Dish which was rather tough , potatoes bland and 1 carrot and 3 small pieces of leek, a small dish of Cauliflower Cheese. I'm sorry to say it was a disappointment to both my friend and myself resulting in us both saying we wont be back. wont recoomend to anyone.

My wife and I were up in Perth again for the opening recital in the season of Perth Piano Sundays. We booked lunch at No.1, partly because most of the better Perth restaurants don’t open on Sundays (including the highly praised Graeme Pallister at 63 Tay Street), partly because I was keen to sample some of Graeme’s food and he is still the executive chef at No.1, overseeing things. We arrived at Parklands a couple of hours ago, the manager checked us in, and appeared to be very affable. The room was large and pleasant. We went down to dinner, which was supposed to be a "gourmet" experience. I ordered a Crozes Hermitage, a red wine that is supposed to be served at just below room temperature, it was icy cold, I remarked on this when the manager poured it for me to taste. I was advised that the lamb would have been served in 20 minutes. Hardly time for it to come close to room temperature. The same, "affable" gentleman who had greeted us at reception had tried to pass off a bottle of wine that was not ready, he suggested that it be put in hot water to heat it up. I refused. He told me that in his thirteen (only) years in the catering industry that this was the way he had been trained. He refused to change it because it had been opened. He argued with me in front of my family and other guests. I have worked in the catering industry for forty years, this is not the way I have been trained or the way I learnt to treat guests. I doubt this was the way he was encouraged to conduct himself with the public. Unfortunately, I have to stay here another day. This is not a experience I would recommend to anyone, let alone a "gourmet" one!

Waitress shrugged her shoulders and walked off. Food from the limited menu was acceptable, if a bit odd. Chicken liver parfait with sweet ginger bread for a starter? The senior member of staff was pretty snooty and unhelpful too - he also couldn't pour wine without spilling it and made no attempt to clean up afterwards. The starters and desserts were absolutely gorgeous. We all raved about the celeriac, pear and ginger soup - so smooth and creamy. Chocolate dessert with coffee ice cream worked well, though rich, and it was a pleasant change to see such unusual flavours of ice cream offered, such as cinnamon. Although quite imaginative overall there was a rather poor choice for non meat-eaters for mains - a huge portion of fish and chunky chips is not really very enticing. Waitress was willing but had to be waved at quite often to attract attention. Manager or maitre d' perhaps, just stood behind the bar looking surly. Would expect better training at a hotel/restaurant of this standard but not many customers that day so perhaps they couldn't really get going!

We stayed as part of a voucher deal and were very much treated as though we were second rate guests. They highlighted that we were 'Voucher Guests' four times within the first hour of arrival. Despite this the food was very good. After the meal I ordered a double cognac which looked rather small so when ordering a second one I went through to the bar and watched the barmaid pour only 3/4 of the measure - twice for a double! She then poured 25ml of port which I have certainly never come across before. I highlighted this to the manager who although looked slightly embarrassed, said absolutely nothing. Not wanting a scene after a good meal I left it until the morning. Again we told the manager about the situation with the staff selling short measures, he did not even reply or look up from the seat in which he was slumped in behind reception. My wife asked if he even cared and again he didn't even look up - all very strange and a bit weird. As the manager is like this, the rest of the staff seem to think this is the way to treat customers.Give this place a wide berth, food might be good but there are plenty of good food venues where the staff are pleasant and don't rip you off at the bar.Additionally, room tiny and looked over railway so noise from trains was a nuisance.

Dessert was sticky toffee pudding and a selection of Scottish and French cheese both well presented and tasty. My sister and I visited No 1 The Bank for the first time and were most impressed. We had lunch in the conservatory. The staff were discreetly attentive and the food was wonderful. We enjoyed coffee in the lounge, making the most of the autumn scenery. We left equipped with maps of Perth and helpful directions. We look forward to a return visit and would highly recommend it.

Great choice of food carefully prepared and served. 2 rosettes - probably worth more - efficient and friendly service. Good wine list at sensible prices. Just brilliant.

It was so good we ate in the restaurant on the second night of our stay. It was ano brainer. All food was truly delicious - not a large menu but very tempting choices with strong Scottish emphasis. Nice quiet atmosphere and the wiater could not have been more pleasant. The French cheese platter was the best - served with a creamy honey. Perhaps not the most obvious combination with cheese - but it worked.Overall perhaps a little pricey but well worth it for the food!

We were not residents, but dined in their Bistro restaurant. Just don’t ask for a Steak knife. They don’t have any, and the chef says you won’t need one! Sorry, he’s totally wrong! For some strange reason they struggled to supply the wine, we were well into our main dish before it arrived.

It's on deal used for this venture out for lunch, 2 course at a good discounted price. I invited my parents to join us for lunchIt's been a very long time since I last came here and for the life of me I can say why we never come hereOn our arrival we were seated and the menu looked good, the,ace is lovely decorated, it's not a large dinning room but just right. We ordered 2 soups, a ham hock and the risotto for starters. Each came is a good time. On 1st thought I did think the portions were small but how wrong was I, they were just perfect. The main was much the same, each dish ordered 1 fish, 2 lamb and 1 steak (cooked perfectly) were delicious. Not too much on the plate that you were stuffed just really satisfied. Overall the lunch was lovelyWe did have pudding and this was where the meal went badly wrong. We ordered and for whatever reason it took 45 min for the puds to arrive, we were told that the nemesis we ordered took time to prepare but this was only after 20 minOnce it arrived it was ok but not worth the wait I'm afraid After discussion with the manager he was lovely enough to give us a wee discount for our wait. This part of the meal has not put me or my family off going back to Parklands no1 bank for lunch or dinner as the starter and main were so good and of a high qualityWorth a visit if in the area plus it has outside seating which is a rarity in Perth,There is a good amount of parking on site and is a good location next to the train and bus station. It is also part of the parklands hotel so if coming to the area you

We ate here this week whilst staying at the Parklands Hotel - I have to say I had no idea how good the food at this restaurant is!! Every dish we had was absolutely bursting with flavour and beautifully presented. My husband said his steak was one of the best he'd ever had. The service was also great, there was no waiting around and you got the sense that you as the customer are their absolute priority. Prices were good value - I've paid a lot more for food nowhere near that standard. I'm thinking this chef could be one to watch!!

I went to this restaurant with a group from a conference. They ordered fish pie, and I ordered venison pie + lemon cream desert. My companions loved their fish pie, and I LOVED the lemon cream desert. It came with delish ginger sorbet and rhubarb. The venison pie was good, but if I returned I would try another dish. I would definitely return for the lemon cream cake. I actually don't remember what it was called, it was like a very light fluffy lemony cheese cake/lemon mousse. The view was lovely, and the service excellent. Ambience within the restaurant was great as well.

Just had a delightful light lunch at Parkways hotel. Three of us each chose sandwich options, plus two coffees came to £25. The sandwiches were on delicious bread, served with well flavoured veggie crisps, salad and beautifully presented.Lovely views onto the South Inch.

Been going to this takeaway all my life, the food is quality, the sauces are deliciously and the service is brilliant; so please ignore certain people on the “Google review” who are just too obnoxious and arrogant even/especially for their & our own goods, as they spoil a genuinely tasty treat that you shouldn’t miss out on at all. Also the Creiff Rd chippy has some amazing pickled eggs which are the best, with their A-and I’m saying ‘A-class Gravy’ in a tub or slathered over your half battered chicken supper with a bunch of chips or battered haddock, it’s a explosion of flavour ether way and it’s simply.. divine. The old couple who’ve owned the business still and do work there to this day plus my parents used to go there when they were spry-‘er’, again the duet are a lovely duo that ken how to run a kitchen and fill a stomach!!! I’ve always recommended The Creiff Road chippy, especially when I leave Perth, as what I thinks, ‘is like the Anstruther chippy but from Perthshire’!! Totally underrated takeaway, well to those who’ve missed out on it anyways, if not, why no go support your local 5 star takeaway-cuisine again.
