Very nice for a large gathering. They were able to accomodate our large group with various needs and dietary requirements. Staff were very friendly and helpful.

Traditional pub. Good atmosphere, very busy place, but there is room. The food is very good, plentiful and the prices reasonable.

We had a stopover on the way back to Skye and called in for an evening meal. I booked a table easily online. The restaurant was warm and welcoming, and the staff even more so. We were greeted by Ross, who was brilliant. We had a fantastic booth to sit in, with a wee telly for the kids to watch. We were served by Mary, who was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant was busy but both Ross and Mary took the time to chat, explain the menus and nothing was too much trouble. The food was excellent, extremely quick service, and the kids ate for free as we had two main meals. We’d highly recommend this restaurant. And if you go, try to get Mary’s table. 😀

Stopped here on our way from Nottingham to NE Scotland (8 hr drive), as it was dog friendly. Loved the fact they even have a dog friendly menu. Service was quick, food was tasty and great value. Mary, our waitress, was lovely and made a fuss of the dog too,would definitely recommend.

Went out with friends for a meal & small libration couldn't fault the restaurant or the staff.

Great value for money. We were served by Mary who was great, talked us through the menu and deals and sat us in a quiet corner on a table with a tv which was perfect for the kids. Kept them occupied and allowed us to have a peaceful dinner!

Server Mary is wonderful. Really friendly and knowledgeable for a party which included glutn-free and vegan diets.

Dog friendly which was great, however food was terrible, steak was just fatty chips were cold. We never got asked if food was OK.

Just wanted to say thank you to the team at the Maltings today. We enjoyed our Sunday Roast and were well looked after by the staff. A particular thank you to Keely who went the extra mile to help us during our visit.

We had lunch at The Matings - friendly welcome and we had a table by at the window. Our waitress could have done with a clean uniform - but order taken accurately though with little interaction which is fair enough. Food arrived quickly - the burger was luke warm, the haggis neeps and tatties were not great (see picture) - very lumpy and again luke warm. Would not recommend and will not return.

We stopped here tonight to break up a drive with the dog and it was ideal. Great value and they looked after the dog as well. New favourite place to stop on route past Perth

I've visited here quite a few times recently and each time I have been greeted with a friendly face and put at ease, especially as often I've been dining at a table for one. The place is really busy and can, at busy times, have a small wait for tables, but as a customer you barely realise, as the staff work so hard all of the time to make sure they serve you well. It really is somewhere that the servers are enthusiastic and put you first. The seating outside is amazing in the sun to sit with a drink and relax too. You can even order on the app and get table service if you don't want to leave your seat. I would highly recommend and I will be back to visit. Thanks all for the great meals!

A stop over at the beginning of the NC500. Quick call a few days before to ask if we could use the carpark over night and we made our way north . Friendly staff, dog friendly pub, quality pub food including haggis !!! Clean facilities , ideal location off of the A9.

Was really surprised by this pub/eatery,staff were excellent and service really good .Food came quickly and was piping hot , priced very reasonably and would definitely return for a meal in the future.

The place is cozy but the food is just mediocre. Waiter from Egypt was nice. One time is enough. Go there once and then look for somewhere else.

Food was amazing and huge portions! Our server Mary was so kind, helpful and friendly. They seemed busy when we first walked in, but Mary got our food in right away. We would definitely come back!

My mate and I had a full scottish while waiting on his bike being serviced along the road. Grub was decent... it was cooked very nicely, proper portion and we both agreed it was tasty. The wee bit off haggis hit the spot. Would definitely stop past again when in the area.

Update. August 24 visit. Went for tea, busy place. Decent menu choices, reasonabley priced. Good portion sizes. Fish was excellent as was the Nashville burger. Gammon steak was dry. Plates were absolutely roasting.... Would go and try a different dish. Great location just off A9, nicely decorated. Only had cup of tea, were told to sit in bar area which was fine. However, the tables were all high tables bar 1, which was in use, not great when you have an 80 year old with you. 24/12/22 - went in for a drink and thankful to day the high tables are no more.

A very nice place with friendly and helpful staff. A dog-friendly place with a nice menu for them. Food very tasty and fresh. I heartily recommend it.

This is the second time we have been here and both times been served by Mary who made the whole experience very special and very enjoyable. She is a credit to the company and will definitely be back next time we are here on holiday.

This place is definitely worth a visit, there is plenty of parking available and a lovely patio area with heating and blankets available if it's chilly, the staff are extremely efficient, polite, and hardworking. The food is excellent and good value for money and a good size portion, I can recommend the haggis starter it is fantastic and also the rib eye steak with the Balmoral topper you won't be disappointed, but every meal that comes out looks mouthwatering. Well done to all the staff keep up the good work.

PEASE READ ALL OF THIS REVIEW Sadly, I can not give a review that "The Maltings" probably deserves. Why? Me and a mate ate their this evening, and we both ordered the roast beef options. The waitress told us that what we wanted wasn't available. I changed completely, my mate went for the turkey option. When the food arrived, mine was as ordered. My mates was, well, to be honest, pitiful. 2 bits of turkey 4 spuds a yorkshire pud and peas. When he enquired about the rest of the dinner he was told "sorry we have run out of....... (several items listed)" This should have been brought to his attention prior to the meal being presented to him. That way, he would have had the option to change his mind. When asked for feedback, I said, "My food was spot on, but my mate only got half his meal" So what happened in response?? Nothing, no offer of maybe a pudding to make up for it nope nothing. Full price charged and off you go! Sadly, not a good customer experience at all. 02/08/2024 I am very happy to amend my review from several days ago. I made contact as requested, and as we were back in the area at the end of out motorbike tour of Scotland went in had a chat about our issue from the other day and then sat down to a lovely meal in a pub that I am quite happy to give a 5 star rating which it deserves. Food was dreadful however having seen pictures on reviews from other people maybe I just ordered the wrong thing. The chicken wings were disgusting, they had a white film of fat around the meat unless this was the buttermilk but it was very unappetising. The burger I ordered said it came with a large slice of beef tomato, maybe they’d ran out cos it was a sliver of tomato skin about the size of a 10 pence piece. The bun was supposed to come with a spicy burger sauce but again it was a tiny dot making the whole thing too dry to eat plus the burgers were overcooked to within an inch of their lives. Must have been under the heat lamps for a bit because the coleslaw was warm yet the chips were cold ! Avoid at all costs, I had no choice as was staying in the adjacent hotel. NB. wine glasses were covered in water marks. Service was ok

Vegetables nothing special, almost all raw or poorly cleaned. Almost non-existent service. Environment outside very similar to McDonald's. Recommended for the price.

It is a lovely pub. Our waitress Lesley was very nice. We wanted to try haggis, neeps and tattis and it was very good. We also had steak and ale pie which was delicious as well. Food arrived soon after we ordered. The ambient was nice and calm.

Walked out food was cold and service is if they can be bothered. Never going back. Avoid the place there only interested in the locals and regularly attending drunken groups.

Bit of a disappointing visit this time, lots of stuff missing from menu, particularly healthier options. Corn brought out that looked like someone else had already had a chew on it (obviously they hadn't) and it had the texture that tells it's been sat in water for a long time. Sunday roast very underwhelming, a bit chuch and veg boiled to oblivion. Drinks, ordered Dr Pepper Zero, clearly wasn't. They redeemed a bit by removing the corn and taking 20% off the bill. Having been coming here on and off for years and have previously left good reviews for them but it's definitely different, at least this visit was.

On hols in Perth visiting family. Great food, even though it is a chain.

Ordered 2 meals and 2 drinks . The guy on the bar managed to ring up 2 drinks and 1 meal, so when the waitress brought the meal, we realised. The outside area is filthy. The tables need a good clean sticky and the covered area. The glass roof is absolutely filthy and needs a good clean

Had a lovely visit to the Maltings on a Friday evening with friends. We were served by Jenna who was so friendly, it made us all feel welcomed. The food was lovely and served promptly we all really enjoyed our meals. We will definitely be back, we all agree it was the best and most friendly service we have had anywhere in a long long time so thank you Jenna you were great!

Lovely meal, food was amazing. The service and attention from Lesley was very good. One of my party has coeliac disease and Lesley was very understanding of this. A slight issue with the dessert options but this appeared to be a head office issue where something was on one menu but not on the app. Lesley went away and mentioned this to the manager and this was getting raised with head office. Thank you for a lovely relaxed meal

Connor the bar man was such a lovely person couldn't give him a tip or buy him a drink as he refused so I would like to take the opportunity to commend his service

This is always the stop we make at Perth. It was busy, starter was tasty (cauli bangs) main tried the new burger with hash brown in. It was tasty but plate was loaded with fries to make it look full. Also had loaded fries to share but there was nothing loaded about theses fries at all. All in all food was quick, tasted fine but definitely not the best I've had from there.

Excellent lunch! So happy the original steak pie serving is back! Highly recommended 👌 Lesley our server was lovely, making an all round fantastic dining experience:)

Had a great experience the Maltings. As dog owners we were blown away by the friendliness of the staff and how attentive they were to our Springer Spaniel Ella. Our server was Mary who was outstanding. It was such a shame that we could show our appreciation to her by leaving a tip on the card as they only accept tips in cash...sorry Mary, but you were awesome. Many thanks from John, Amanda and Ella....we'll be back.

Buttered chicken wings were awful, rosemary chips lacked rosemary. Fish was overcooked.

The venue and service is unfortunately let down by the quality of food served.Most of our meals ordered were chicken based and all were very dry to the extent that it was evident that it had been pre-cooked and had dried out.

Last minute decision to come here and it turned out to be an excellent one. We were able to book a table and although it was busy the food came out in double quick time, which was greatly appreciated by the hungry children in our party. Everyone in our party of 7 really enjoyed the food and basically ate the lot. Mary, our waitress, was lovely and despite being obviously busy made sure we were all tended to with a smile and a joke. Staff like that are gold dust. The only issue encountered was a nearby table with a few adults whose language was disgraceful. This was resolved with a request to move being facilitated in record time. Again the staff demonstrated excellent customer service.

Mary was sound, good laugh all round

I don’t usually give reviews , good or bad . If I don’t have a good experience I’ll vote with my feet and not go back but my husband and I had great food ( particularly the salmon) at the Maltings in Perth, promptly served in a full restaurant which is a good sign and to top it all when I absentmindedly left my jacket and called they insisted in posting it back to save a journey. Just received my jacket today and can’t recommend them enough!!

We were not able to eat there because the kitchen was not open before 12 p.m. We came Thursday May 9 and several people were waiting in front of the door. There was a sheet specifying that the bar was open but not the kitchen before 12 p.m....* So the owner's answer is not true

Very healthful staff. Clean and tidy. Alot of food for what you pay. I had a sharing platter and it was delicious. My daughter had hamburger and it was big. Had no complaints about.

Very disappointing, ordered the steak and ale pie and nachos for starter, nachos were sub standard, no cheese on them, red flag straight away for the main. Pastry was stodgy and the meat chewy, chips were cold. Poor waitress serving us could hardly hold the plates and she was rattling everywhere, Management should have clocked this. Most of the food was left and I think think they were embarrassed as we never got the obligatory "was everything okay" Avoid, go someplace like the anchor in Broughty Ferry if you want a proper steak pie.
