New owners now call this place Dunkeld’s. Looks nice and the cheeses in the deli to purchase and take away are reasonably priced. Everything else is way overpriced. They mill their own flour, cure their own bacon, bake bread and scones on the premises so they have zero buy in and transport costs for artisan produce from elsewhere. Why then is it £9.50 for some grilled bacon on a sandwich? £9.50 for a very small cappuccino and scone - when queried the response was that it wastes a lot of cream to make their own clotted cream! As much as the food is nice, it is twice the price of other places in town who also make their own bread. The coffee is served almost cold too. Also got moaned at when we sat at an empty table after standing waiting to be seated for several minutes with an abundance of staff ignoring us, then the staff commented to each other that ‘these people just sat down’. Rude beyond belief, there are no reservations so what is the issue with sitting at empty tables in a cafe where the staff clearly couldn’t be bothered to seat you there. The new owners have pitched this place at those who want to be able to say they pay a lot for a coffee and scone and think it makes them look good and for the unsuspecting tourist who will only be there once and then just get caught out by the massive prices. How will it get through its first winter when the tourists have gone! Also there is. I menu to view or prices until after you have sat down. We saw people get up and leave - perhaps they had just looked at the prices when given a menu!

We dropped in on about 4pm for a coffee and a scone. The coffee was ok. The crunchy scones, £4.50 each, were about the size of a regular tangerine, served with a sliver of butter and a teaspoonful of jam. None of the staff was attentive. They were too busy cleaning the cafe before closing time. I guess the Scottish Deli thrives thanks to the volume of through traffic. I would certainly not give the Scottish Deli my custom again.

Too little space. Badly designed. MUSIC TOO LOUD! You can hear it in the street. Not sure how the neighbours upstairs feel about the noise level. Not pleasant to sit in. too crammed and too loud. I see some of the reviews in here are saying great Tapas. The new management DO NOT do Tapas. This can now be served in May's next door. All in all, and it is not because I dislike change, they have ruined the space they had.

If I could give this place ZERO stars trust me I would. The new owners have very successfully turned this place into pretentiousness at its finest..£9.50 for a bacon roll...£4.50 for a mediocre latte?? This "Deli" has lost its original welcoming cosiness..the interior decor now resembles a public lavatory..some of the staff are awful.. zero interpersonal skills..Once again Dunkeld falls victim to the fawning masses which seem to migrate from the pages of Scottish Field magazine...need I say more...

Very friendly staff. Clean and tidy space. Good coffee blend used. Lovely fresh made baguettes or wraps with a big choice of fillings. U can sit in but I find it a wee bit annoying sitting at a table trying to enjoy my coffee and croissants and having other customers leaning over my table and constantly passing behind me and bumping against my chair so they can have a look at the products in the shelves behind or next to me. So yeah not my idea of having a peaceful time.

It's a good place to grab a quick lunch. We ordered two salads (spicy African chicken and tuna mayo) which were good. They were accompanied by some chips, crackers and coleslaw. On the other hand, the portions are really small. If you are hungry and want a hearty lunch, go your way. Nevertheless it is a pleasant place, the setting is very pretty. The staff is very nice.

Nice deli - good range, friendly staff, good coffee. Would give it 5 stars for most visits, but the price charged for a quick coffee was almost 30% higher than on the menu last time. Not a huge deal all things considered, would just be nice to update the menu on time. I'll still go back though :)

Putting "Water for the table" on the menu so you can trick people into buying water when you offer it after taking an order is a pretty underhanded tactic. The cashier shaking the tip jar when we paid isn't a good look either. (We left a tip on the table). There was quite a wait for drinks and order to be taken when there weren't many seated. Food was alright, bit small portions even for 'tapas' though.

We stumbled on this little gem of a local business on a recent Motorcycle run at the start of the 2024 season. From the outside unpretentious, but on the inside a little jewel in Dunkeld. Very pleasant staff and equally pleasant homemade saviours and sweets. We were made to feel very welcome with a dash of proper understated hospitality, it seemed like many locals are within the staff rosta, which is always reassuring. The menu was great in both savoury and sweet options, a cracking little find. The shop stocks wines and spirits, but not your usual supermarket inventory, e.g Hearach Whiskey and in stock Chateau Musar 2017 wines amongst many others. If you are in Dunkeld or passing, it is more than worth a visit.

We had a wonderful evening at the Scottish Deli on Friday evening with family. The tapas food was excellent as always and the staff really helpful & friendly. We had also been in earlier in the day for coffee and cake ( the new mincemeat crumble slice was delicious!) We are really sad to hear that the Deli is changing hands and really hope that the new owners are able to maintain the friendly atmosphere and fantastic food that the Deli has consistently offered over the past few years.

We stumbled across this place on the last night of a fortnight in Scotland and couldn't be more glad that we did and that they had space. We were seated promptly (underneath the fan thankfully considering the heatwave), asked whether we'd eaten there before (we hadn't), had the menu explained to us (suggested 3 tapas per person) and then left alone briefly to consider the menu. Once ordered, drinks were delivered in a timely fashion, followed by breads & dips to tempt / tide us over until our tapas arrived. It wasn't very quick, but I didn't think it was unduly long either - just the right length of time for non-"fast food" that is being prepared freshly. And when it arrived, we were delighted as it was delicious! The only slight disappointment was that salted cod wasn't available, but that was soon forgotten. My personal favourite was the poached chorizo in red wine with honey glaze, but we were happy with all of our options (patatas bravas, haggis balls, pinchas de pollo, spinach & chickpea stew, haddock in red pepper sauce and Spanish tortilla - the latter really made by the spicy tomato salsa on the side). 5 between the two of us would probably have sufficed, which would have meant I had space for one of the ice-creams, but in hindsight, I'm glad I didn't. Excellent service, delicious food, our best meal of our holiday. We probably won't be back (living in Birmingham and all) but definitely would if we were local.

I was really excited when I walked into the Scottish Deli as it was quirky and different so we sat down and waited and waited and waited. It's not like we were out of sight as we were just to the right of the 7 staff, 2 were working others really shouldn't have been getting paid as it was more a catch up for them than actually serving customers. At one point I went up and said "what's the soup of the day" hint hint, one of the working ones replied to me, the rest just chatted on to each other. After about another few mins of being blanked (and it wasn't busy). I just thought that I'm not going to pay £30ish for two cups of tea and 2 sandwiches where I felt I was disturbing the "catch up" so I walked out went a few doors away and spent my £30 but was happy as I was served by a lovely lady.

Pre booked for our last night of our Dunkeld trip. Good choice! Staff were welcoming and friendly, giving some information about the menus and recommendations, suggesting three dishes per person was probably about right. A generous complimentary basket of fresh bread and delicious dips were offered while we made our tapas choices. I went for the haggis, goats cheese crostini and Pinchos de pollo (chicken skewers), while my wife had the chorizo in red wine, patatas bravas and the chicken. All were delicious and very filling. The chorizo was exceptional! We had no room for dessert and just finished off our delicious wine, a bottle of which we bought to take away. Given the portions, quality of food and our drinks, we thought the bill of £95 was more than acceptable. Lovely little deli/restaurant which shouldn’t be missed if you’re looking for something different while in the beautiful town of Dunkeld.

Thai little corner shop offers ice-creams, pastries and opens for dinner. Cured meats, cheese and wine which you can purchase and take home. Lots of all around the world product and plenty of Gluten free, wheat free etc for all dietary requirements. The haggis were a bit heavy and the sauce very thick… not the best o had. Unfortunately the tortilla was quite dry and couldn’t finished as there’s were very dry bits. The haddock was the best alongside the vinagreta and the gordal olives but those you can get anywhere. Staff was very friendly and explained all very good. Edit: Appreciate the answer; however as Spaniard myself, I can assure you; tortilla should not be that dry. Anyway you guys have a lovely thing going on 🙂

Tables note wiped down between customers - Menu board misleading re a soup and sandwich deal - soup disappointing very thin and watery - staff slow- a bit aggressive - not very organised/efficient/seemed inexperienced - customers left not being served - staff seemed unaware! And the icing on the cake was the charge of £2 added to the bill for sitting in perhaps customers should be advised of this when ordering food and not just a footnote on the board - is this £2 per table or per person ? Will not be back and definately discourage people from using this venue! DISGUSTED

18:45 booking for Tapas on a (brief but impressive) snowy evening in March. ... I am not a huge Tapas fan as the portions are often poor, adding up to an expensive main meal. I have accepted that the area (whole region) is expensive, and so the individual prices were not a shock . What was a really pleasant surprise was that the portions were a nice size, the suggested three dishes being ample. I even didn't mind sharing (of course, being the whole point, but more than often, not enough to do so). The negative point for me, I thought there would be a good selection of ales, but the only 500ml IPA was not available (leaving a tasty but paltry £5 330ml). The slightly mediocre points, the prawns were in a rather boring garlic butter instead of rich tomato. Squid is squid, good quality and nicely cooked, but a little plain. The great points ... the Chicken Skewers (Pinchos), Lamb Tagine, Spinach and Chickpea were absolutely excellent. Also, the 'house' G&T was very good value. Staff were very nice, and it is dog friendly. The best Tapas I have had and would definitely come again (the promise of other Tapas establishments may tempt me once more, but suspect I would be disaspointed in comparison)

Delicious home-made food, x 2 steak pie, was best I have had, loads of tender meat and plenty gravey, macaroni cheese & Katsu Chicken, stick toffee puddings & after eight cheese cake 😋 all staff friendly and attentive, busy wee country pub with a good atmosphere and I found it very reasonably priced for a meal for 4, highly recommend, we will definitely be back.

Amazing food which we had as a takeaway. I was really impressed with quality (and reasonable cost). The venue itself was also of a high standard if you are dining in and i wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this place to anyone!!

Great little hotel in Glencarsie, very close the the Byrne Inchyra wedding venue (5 min walk), perfect if you are attending an event there, as then you don’t have to worry about trying to sort a taxi late night! Rooms were warm, very clean & modern, shower water pressure was great. Breakfast was included and very good! There’s also a bar here, which is great for having a drinks with friends before walking over to the wedding venue. Bus to Edinburgh airport is a 10 min walk away as well, so very convenient location. Absolutely recommend this place!

We only stayed one night, but we wish it had been longer because it was an amazing stay!! The castle was gorgeous, the staff was amazing, and the food…we had one of our best meals of the trip at Sandemans. All of the dishes were delicious, but the whole experience was even better because the sommelier was so knowledgable and took our meal to a whole other level. Also, the spa was such a nice bonus. We would highly recommend staying here!
