My partner said ‘it is a trick restaurant’ - it wants you to think it’s better than it is!? The very high price for the tasting menu and wine flight makes you think that you are in for something very special (trick 1) The portion size is very small ( most notably the Pate) trick 2 Staffed by young inexperienced girls with no Matre de onhand to guide and control them Service was slow (70% capacity) Very expensive wine by the glass served pre poured and not a sight of the bottle (the wine should have been served at the table from the shown bottle?) trick 3 Not a special experience and not value for money trick 4

Indeed, again, my professional careers and training as well as educational experiences within five countries in Catering/private Service/Telecommunications/Customer Service/Retail/Care usually gives me the correct insight on quality in services (so I have been told by many people). The prices seems reasonable. The food quality and cooking are ace! The service is sweet and the athmosphere is very "English soothing" like for enjoying a great English breakfast. The only minus? We asked for half of the full size for breakfasts, two teas and one coffee and it seemed a bit stiff money wise. Especially as I did mention it was my birthday and I, my self, would have at least given two free hot drinks (I learned that in France and Southern California in commerce, which is, do holistic gestures towards some customers as that is a good retention move for them to come back as much). Still, Sally is just a golden nugget of a cafe owner and her staff walk their talk in service: merci!

We had a great breakfast here. Very cheap, value for money and the service was very quick and efficient. We’ll definitely be going back.

Popped in on a break from work for a spot of lunch ordered the big breakfast £6.25 which I feel is great value for money out came large plate looking amazing with 2 sausage 2 bacon 2 eggs lots of juicy baked beans mushrooms 2 halves of grilled tomato and 2 hash browns and a side plate with two slices of buttered toast!! All for £6.25 (puts their neighbours Wetherspoons to shame) and a mug of delicious filter coffee for an Extra £1.80 bargain food was delicious. This wasn't the biggest breakfast on their menu (I usually go big but trying to be healthy) I am stuffed after that one!! I will certainly be returning here Note: it is cash or bank transfer only payment accepted

Dropped in while in the area and had a lovely cake and coffee. Staff were friendly and the cafe area was clean and tidy. The choices of cakes was great and it was hard to pick but we had the cheesecake and it was lovely. The hot food looked great. Farm shop is a nice little.bonus to visit and there are animals too. Lovely spot to drop in on. Was busy so looks like a regular hotspot.

Recently moved to the area and can’t praise the staff enough, Reasonably priced drinks, and whenever we’ve asked to watch a particular sport , they’ve put it on for us.

Skipton & District RNA booked this venue for their traditional October Trafalgar Lunch. The Kestrel menu offered choices & dietary options for all guests (55). The food was well prepared & beautifully presented by Chef Gary & service by the waiting team Lisa & Lucy was also to a high standard. Nothing was too much trouble for this friendly pair. A thoroughly enjoyable afternoon was had by all & we all went home well fed & smiling ⚓️⚓️⚓️

I visit this café almost every week, and it never disappoints! The service is always excellent, and the quality is outstanding, all at a very reasonable price. The food is absolutely delicious, and their scones are simply unforgettable – the best you’ll ever try. I highly recommend stopping by this wonderful café; you won’t regret it!

Food below average, customer service a mixture of good and bad. I ordered a breakfast with orange juice and on seeing the low quality kids' carton of orange juice with a straw, I rejected it. It had printed on the side "orange juice drink" which is usually on artificial orange juice cartons made with cheap flavouring and colouring. The waiter took it away, and then I was surprised to find the cafe manager, a strange looking woman with orange skin and purple hair, somewhat like one of Roald Dahl's Oompa-loompas standing over me and shouting at me that the content of the carton was "fresh orange". I was completely taken aback. I'd rejected it and didn't expect overbearing and threatening behaviour from one of the locals. As it turned out, the carton was a carton of orange juice, that is, squeezed orange juice made from concentrate. But I still didn't want it. It wasn't fresh, and it was cheap and nasty looking. She didn't seem to understand that it having been in a carton for weeks did not make it "fresh orange". Instead, she seemed to think I wanted orange squash when I told her I wanted real orange juice, straight from an orange. She just went on and on at me. It's a minor thing, a misunderstanding of terminology, but I was not feeling well, and she basically bullied me into accepting it. The English breakfast when it came was dreadful. I had asked for the bacon to be crispy. Instead, it was hard and cardboard-like. Everything was just low quality - the bread - everything - which the juice carton should have told me. I'll never go again. I didn't know the idea was to replicate the experience of the 1970s, when train food had a reputation for being awful and service worse, but you live and learn.
