The Corner in Great Yarmouth

Really surprised by the bad reviews. We enjoyed a great fish and chip meal - tasty, well cooked and not at all greasy. Our food was cooked to order. We didnt have to queue despite it being a Sunday afternoon in July. The only down point - only Pepsi available and no coke.

The Corner Great Yarmouth Don't go inside. Oh my word, it's so bad. The chips looked like they were cooked in sweaty water. The Scampi... Nope. The Nuggets... Nope. This was up there with one of my worst ever experiences food wise.

This use to be a fantastic fish and chip shop but it appears to have changed hands. It's gone from being a great place to eat to somewhere I will never go again. The fish portions are tiny and the chips were greasy and cold. The hunt is on for another place to go I'm sure there are many in Gt Yarmouth.

We had 3 portions of fish and chips cooked in old burnt oil. The batter was greasy dark brown and the chips were thin, soggy, dark brown and greasy.

Great spot for dinner. Lovely staff, really polite and kind. Delicious food too at good prices. Definitely will be back!

Called in on a wet Thursday for lunch. The fish was cooked to order & was excellent, good sized portions & very friendly staff. Highly recommended.

Went for a drive out and ended up at Yarmouth and the kids were hungry so we popped into the corner chippy and it was very good indeed chips were good and the quarter pound burger and reasonable prices thankyou Mark from a fellow chip shop worker from Norwich

Came on a Saturday around 6.30pm to find not to busy, ordered a cod chips , cheese burger, chips, chicken burger chips, and sea bass and chips , waited and waited and the lady who took our order was lovely , and pleasant, but the chap who was frying disappeared for a smoke. And forgot the orders , so left the lady putting things on that he forgot, the food itself wasn’t to bad , but chicken burger dry, and cheese burger very well cooked, no salad or Relish , no sauce, shop clean, but bit put off by seeing cook smoking outside and then straight in , sorting food , won’t pop in again a shame as fish not bad ,

Popped in for some fish and chips while visiting Yarmouth. My husband did a quick Google and The Corner came up under good reviews. Really friendly lady served us. I had fish bites which were amazing! So crispy and fresh! Chips also very good, and the price was really decent too! Would recommend!

Visited for the first time Thursday 14th September with my dad, girlfriend & baby girl. Highly recommend! 10 out of 10 in every aspect. Service and food was brilliant.

Great location on the seafront opposite the ferris wheel. We were unsure where to go and came across The Corner and the prices were reasonable, £12 for fish, chips and a drink. The food took a little while to arrive but we were kept informed and this was because it was being cooked to order, it arrived piping hot. The medium fish was more then enough and a decent portion of chips, the hubby went for large fish and struggled to finish it all. The batter was crispy and the cod fluffy and white. Chips were great too. One of the best fish & chip dinners we have ever had. Service was great too, really friendly and appreciative of our custom. Wish we lived closer!

Perfect place for food, worth the drive up to Yarmouth. Great & Friendly Staff. Chips and Sausage cooked perfect. Will return for more next time! - Mike

Fresh thick cod crispy batter soft fluffy chips all cooked fresh by the captain with some good chat as well and a good price.

Came here for the very firsts time with my family and I have to say this is the best fish a chips I have tasted. It’s definitely a 10/10 thanks again 😊

The best fish and chips in town, lovely friendly place with good portions at very reasonable prices. I know my fish, and I have to say that was some fresh perfectly cooked cod and haddock.

Horrible chips and so much oil. Fish portion was not generous compared to other shops We had to throw most of the chips due to so much oil. I wouldn’t consider this chippy as 5 stars and not even think about going back to this...

Did not disappoint. Best fish and chips in Great Yarmouth in fact best we have had for a long time. Finished off with battered mars bars a big hit with our two 16 year olds. Thanks to the captain and his friendly lady staff 😁

chips were disgusting, tasted and looked like they had been cooked several times, fish was like a frozen piece you would buy from a supermarket. if it weren't for the curry sauce masking the taste of food we would have returned the lot

Chips were the best chips around here by far. The sausage wasn't battered and the children only like battered. Wasn't impressed that it didn't clarify this. Fish was okay but could be warmer
