Lovely place to pop in for a good breakfast or lunch. We came in for a coffee and breakfast with kids and they loved the food and the atmosphere.

What a great afternoon spent at Margo’s Lounge having a splendid afternoon tea with my Mum. This was a special treat for my Mum and a great talking point surrounded by the fun and quirky artefacts have times passed. The tea was delicious, all homemade and a selection of sweet and savoury treats - I did indulge, rude not to! For those who have more control there is an option to take away your leftovers and enjoy later! Thanks Margo’s what a great find!

Always a delight very busy today

Quirky and quaint with wonderful service. A lovingly run restaurant decorated with loads of mismatched mid century furnishings and tchotchkes. If you love that sort of thing, make sure you pop down to the antiques shop in the basement. The coffees were delicious and the food was perfect. Big portions of French toast or sweet waffles, heaped with bacon. Lots of other things on the menu to choose from. We loved it so much we came again the next day. They get quite busy so I recommend you make a booking.

Went to Margos Lounge for a cream tea for my Birthday with family. Had a great experience food was Really tasty, fresh, looked great, plenty to eat and was given a take home box. Staff were very polite and helpful will definitely do this again and recommend you. Thanks Margos & keep up the good work.

We recently had a baby shower for a friend here and it was perfect. The staff were so accommodating. We arrived early to set up and the area we had was perfect. The decor is lovely and quirky. Staff friendly and welcoming. Food was really good. We had the afternoon tea and it was worth every penny. The staff checked on us throughout and topped up drinks when needed. Thank you ! I would definitely recommend.

Food was lovely. Staff were great. However there was no indication on their website prior to attending that booking would be advised. I haven't visited since before Covid and so thought all the covid booking things would have stopped by now but apparently they still take lots of bookings. The staff managed to squeeze us in but then we felt rushed to leave as that table was booked for a little later. I will definitely come back but will now be booking ahead! Oh and the cakes are amazing!

Had afternoon tea there for the very first time. What an absolute treat. The sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones ( sweet & savoury) & of course, the cakes were really tasty & delicious plus unlimited tea & filter coffee .Will definitely be back , once I’ve lost the stone in weight gained !

OMG!!! What an Afternoon Tea, it was brilliant, the staff are lovely ,just can't fault a thing. All cooked for you at the time .

Called to book a table, was told they don’t take reservations but plenty of tables so just turn up. My friend and I arrived (we don’t live locally) to be greeted by tables with reserved signs on and some rude older lady who announced they had no room and even if they did there was a 45 min wait ‘so I have nothing more to say to you’ Such a shame as the younger staff I have encountered on previous occasions have always been lovely. Won’t be visiting again - overpriced anyway. Sort your customer service skills out!! Rude!

My husband and I were given a voucher as a Christmas gift for afternoon tea. We were shown to our table and brought teas and coffees. The cheese and cucumber, ham and mustard and egg mayonaise sandwiches were presented beautifully on one plate, as were the sausage rolls, salad and cheese scones on another. On a 2 tier cake plate were chocolate slices, victoria sponges and fruit scones with jam and clotted cream. The cakes also had cream on them and lots of fresh fruit. Staff were extremely friendly and attentive enough without being over bearing. Altogether a wonderful experience.

We came here for afternoon tea and to give our son a small lunch after leaving the beach. After reading amazing reviews we had such high hopes for this place. However it was clear we didn't fit the standards of their cafe. As we arrived at 2pm we saw that there was a big sofa with 2 seats around it available and two mini sofas further up around a table also available. Otherwise the place was full. The waitress of the cafe came over and said "There are no seats available to seat us" in which my dad replied that we are happy to sit separately. The waitress then walked over to the chef and they spoke briefly before she returned and said they wouldn't be able to cook us food as there is only 1 chef today. I looked around to see every other table had food at their table, including a table of 4 people which was only one less than we had with us. We chose to just leave as it was clear we wasn't wanted there. Upon reading other reviews on various sites, we feel that we weren't welcomed due to having our little boy with us. As other people had complained in the past of how they were treated when bringing children. Thankfully we found a place called Sea Breeze Cafe which is so welcoming to children and families and the food was absolutely beautiful! I would much more recommend going there instead.

My friend and I recently went to Margo’s for afternoon tea. We were served promptly and the staff were very polite and friendly. The feast that followed was delicious, sandwiches, sausage rolls, scones and cream, mince pies, brownies, the list goes on! It was lovely and fresh, and the tea and coffee was constantly refilled. The surroundings are nice and quirky, we really enjoyed it. We didn’t manage to eat everything, and were given boxes to take the leftovers home. Very good price too and hIghly recommend.

You know how you think somewhere is just perfect and couldn't possibly get any better? Well Margo's just proved me totally wrong. Calling in on Friday to meet a friend for coffee and cake - as always spoiled for choice. I chose the spiced orange and mincemeat cake which took yumminess to a new level. Featherlight sponge, tangy with orange then sliced through with gloriously Christmassy mincemeat. I was then tempted to order the spiced apple drink - oh my days, it was FAB-U-LOUS! Can't wait to return and try it all over again. Thank you!

We had a brilliant lunch in margo's I had halloumi & sweet sweet chilli panini 😋 it came with a beautiful salad & very tasty coleslaw & crisps, my husband had the waffles with bacon & syrup, both our meals were absolutely delicious !! With wonderful surroundings and lovely staff, we had a really nice chat with the ladys there one if whom we ask about the area because we had just bought a house only 5minutes up the road !!, we will certainly go back and be a regular there !!! The atmosphere of the place is very special with all the vintage items and a real record player that plays fabulous music, I also found it pleasant that the tables are not cramed together, another lovely touch is the crockery it's all vintage, its like having a meal in your nans lounge !! We loved it :)

Thanks to the Karolyn Hubbard at Margo's lounge. After the clowns at DPD delivered my parcel to Gorleston in Norfolk instead of Nottingham, she took it to the post office and had it delivered it to me at her own cost. With such lovely people I am sure the scones and coffee must be amazing! I will be sure to pop in when in the area.

My husband and I booked afternoon tea. It was amazing! Absolutely delicious and very reasonably priced. My dietary needs were catered for really well. Staff were really warm and friendly and made sure we had everything we needed and offered us another pit of tea.

Found Margo’s on Tripadvisor while in the area. Quite a big place on a residential street not far from the beach. I was surprised to find quite a nice buzz even on a weekday lunchtime in January. Service friendly and helpful. Nice fairly simple menu. Fresh ingredients. Reasonably priced. Would go again.

First-time visit. Will definitely return. Fantastic selection of sandwiches, including vegetarian options. Breakfast is served all day. A wide range of drinks from hot drinks to cold drinks to milkshake to alcohol range too. As for the cake? Fantastic and such a good portion size too! Booking and reservations highly recommend.

I have been to Margo's on numerous occasions and have never had any reason to complain about the food or staff but on my last visit I was spoken to very bluntly by one member of staff so didn't stay and will not be returning. However bad your day is the customer should come first and your stress should not be taken out on your customers.

This is my first visit, parking could be a problem but just look around and spaces can be found. We were given a very warm greeting and quickly shown to our table which we had booked. A good selection of food catering for the modern trend of vegan and gluten free. The pumpkin soup was made fresh that day as it a,ways is, and was extremely delicious. There is also live music in the evenings , but check the dates. Plent of room with below stairs as well. Within walking distance of the sea front .

Needed somewhere to eat before an appointment at the hospital with my daughters. Found this on trip advisor. What a smashing place, friendly staff, good selection of food and eclectic crockery made an unexpectedly delightful lunch. Really recommend and will take a special trip to revisit soon. Parking can be found on the road.

Having seen great reviews for the food and a previous review stating you could sit in a courtyard with dogs. We made a special journey to visit. Unfortunately, my husband went in to ask where we could sit with the dogs, to be told they could put us a seat out on the pavement, no mention of a courtyard. This would have meant us sitting on a residential street pavement. We declined. Whilst the offer was appreciated it would have not been enjoyable.

Popped in and had a fresh orange juice and brie and caramelized onion open sandwich this came with a lovely bean salad. This is such an attractive place to eat either on your own or with friends for a catch up very reasonably priced they also do amazing scones, sausage rolls I took home two slices of apricot and almond sponge cake which was wonderful.

Found Margo's purely last minute on a very hot day last week whilst out on a bike ride as we wanted lunch, but not a cafe, something nice and tasty with cakes - Margo's fitted the bill perfectly, it came up on a Google search :-)

Very impressed with the sandwiches - the bread was delicious and it was really good of them to swap the coleslaw for a bean salad when I told them I was vegan! Only improvement would be if the staff were a little more personable.

We gave often been to Margo's and meet up with friends - we both have children age 6 and a 2yr old - they all love it too.

During the recent heatwave we went in here just before 9am on a Tuesday in July hoping for a cooked breakfast and discovered they don't do full English, what a shame. They do have other things so I had a scrambled egg on toast and my husband had a cheese and pickle on toast.

Recommended by our hotel staff this coffee lounge filled all our expectations a pot of tea for two ,lemon cake and Cherry scone and clotted cream quirky but brilliant friendly staff ,good quick service ,if you are in the area well worth the effort to go karen

Found Margo’s whilst visiting Gorleston-on-Sea for a hospital visit with a friend. This place is quirky, staff are very friendly and the scones are the best I’ve tasted. Would highly recommend Margo’s.

I regularly meet with friends at Margo's, for breakfast, lunch and the occasional quiz night. You can not beat the homemade freshly prepared food. There is something for everyone, being a vegetarian i love the tomatoes on toast, absolutely delicious. The service is friendly and quick. Such a lovely atmosphere.

A chance call meant we headed for breakfast at Margo's lovely old surroundings converted from a former gentleman's Outfitters. We were met by friendly smiles from the staff service was quick the families choice was to extensive to record here I had bacon with maple syrup pancakes with a very good coffee I would recommend for breakfast, light lunch or afternoon tea.

Me and the boyfriend arrived here after checking in to the local hotel and after 3 hours of driving. I’m so glad he chose here! I had a paprika chicken and mango salsa open, he had the prawn and sweet chilli. Both were unreal, even the salad it came with was lovely with a really nice dressing. Even he ate the salad and he rarely does so! I honestly have not that anything that good for a very long time, we loved the decor and the service was lovely and friendly. We didn’t stop talking about it for the whole holiday! Great value, and would recommend to anyone in the area.

My first impressions were very positive. I and another had arranged to meet up with three others at Margo's for lunch on a very cold day, and we two arrived earlier than anticipated. Although the Lounge was busy, a member of the staff suggested that we sat at a five seater table until the others arrived, which was about ten minutes later and in the meantime we had a very good value pot of tea for two. When the rest of the party arrived, we all gave our respective orders and all our meals were excellent - good value and very well presented. I would recommend this restaurant, both for the attentive service and for the value and presentation of the meals

I joined my friend for her Birthday celebration for an afternoon tea here at this quirky place & the food was amazing! We had a selection of finger sandwiches,warm sausage rolls & cheese scones, crackers, cheese & relish, then came some beautifully presented warm scones,jam & cream, meringues & cream, & a selection of other bite-size cakes & any type of teas & coffees that you wanted with plenty of top-ups, the service was excellent & we all enjoyed ourselves & were given containers to take leftovers. I can thoroughly recommend visiting here especially for the afternoon tea. Can't wait to visit again!
