Baines Hall in Calderdale

Went to the summer bier Keller on the 17th aug very good atmosphere the drinks were expensive each round was a different price one double vodka with water and a dash of orange cordial was £9.40 when I asked if that was right she said the vodka was £7.20 meaning £2.20 was charged for a dash of cordial and tap water we left half way through the night the prices really spoilt it for us

We booked our wedding reception with Baines hall back in 2018 for June 2020. We were unable to get married due to Covid so we ended up getting married in September but were not allowed a reception. Baines hall wouldn’t refund any of my room hire cost (we understood they should keep the deposit but they wouldn’t return any of the room hire). I was very upset they have penalised us in an already stressful situation. Especially given they weren’t out of pocket as a wedding venue they could furlough due to being unable to hold events. Very disappointed

The second year running we have used Baines Hall at the cricket club. Elland Round Table host a comedy night called One "Ell Of A Laugh. From booking the venue to the day Denise and her team could not be more helpful.

We went here for a wake. The venue is large enough to cater for 200 people, and is complete with its own bar and toilets separate from the main club (Elland Cricket Club). It is clean and tidy, well decorated with plenty of tables and chairs. The staff are friendly and very welcoming. I almost forgot the catering is very good, tasty with a large selection. To conclude I wouldn’t regret recommending this venue.

I came here for a Vintage Ball organised by Elland Rotary Club and had a great time. The venue was spacious and set out with tables and chairs around the edges of the room, a bar at one end and a large dance floor in the centre. The bar staff were pleasant and the waiting staff serving our three course meal were very helpful, bringing out vegetarian options and gluten free ones too. There was a live band on playing music through the years and the place was decorated wonderfully with balloons and bunting. The rest room was clean and there was a cloakroom for coats and bags. I think this is a good venue for any event and is easily accessible by public transport or by car.

Just wanted to say how helpful Denise was on the run up to our big day and any questions I had she would get back to me very quickly. On the day I thought everything went well, the staff were very accommodating up until we left and asked us if we wanted to save anything before they put everything away. Massive thank you from us and I will definitely recommend

Tuve mi boda aquí en 2006. Cómo han cambiado las cosas!No la sonrisa de los camareros, todo lo que nos preocupaba era el sonido del DJ. Si ponen tanto esfuerzo en sus trabajos, como tratando de conseguir el sonido, que podría haber tenido una buena noche.Frío es insuficiente! Poco acogedora!Si ellos se sienten de esa manera, encontrar otro trabajo.No lo recomendaría si necesita servir rápidamente.Servicio terrible!

Good food and a nice view out of the windows. A good meeting/time-out venue with lots of space and good facilities.

Team brief today, held at Elland Cricket club, pleasantly surprised with the venue, excellent food and great service. Would advise anyone to check it out for a local venue for briefs birthdays social events and weddings.

Asistió a una reunión de trabajo en este lugar. Era un edificio tranquilo con una vista preciosa. La habitación era de un buen tamaño, bien distribuido y el equipo funcionaba.El almuerzo era lasaña pastel de carne y posponer o, ambas opciones eran sabrosos y complementado por todos.Había un montón de aparcamiento.

Alquilamos habitación para 50 fiesta de cumpleaños de aproximadamente 200 personas. Hay mesas redondas con manteles. El lugar suministra y mesa de confeti en otoño cada uno. Hay un escenario disponible y usamos el DJ recomendado por el lugar y fue muy bueno. Hay una cocina disponible aunque no la usamos.

Alquilamos el Baines Hall para un funeral 'do' y no nos decepcionó en ningún aspecto. De capacidad organizativa denise para catering alison y Richard, el evento no podría haber sido mejor. Tuvimos una deliciosa selección de platos calientes, todo el personal involucrado era educado y amable y el lugar está en una ubicación estupenda, con un amplio aparcamiento. Altamente recomendado.

Todo el personal no podría ser más servicial, la comida era excelente, mi grupo constaba de 150 personas y a todos nos pareció genial

Right from the get go our experience was excellent. We were made to feel very welcome and Denise was very flexible to help us with the organisation.The room itself was a wonderful size, very tastefully decorated and the tables were set beautifully. The bar staff were lovely and they made sure everyone had a good time.The DJ and music was fantastic and everyone has commented since how much they enjoyed the entertainment.All in all a fantastic experience, very warm and welcoming and has definitely enabled us to look back on our party with fond memories.Thank you all.

24/09/16 we had our wedding reception at this venue. What can I say? The decoration was beautiful the food was exquisite and the staff were fantastic. Especially Denise who organised the whole thing. Thank you so much

My daughter was married on 13 Aug 2016 and we had the reception and evening "do" at Baines Hall. Denise, the events organiser, was fantastic and very helpful and the food was gorgeous. Baines Hall is the perfect venue for a party of any kind (loads of space, big dance floor,great DJ) but looked extra special with all the tables set and chairs covered in white with pink ribbons for the wedding. Would recommend this venue every time and hope to visit again.Amanda, Emma and Sam xx

My husband and I celebrated our golden wedding on the 3rd September and what a brilliant night it was. The staff were amazing and the food was the wow factor! There was even a sweet shop for the kids (and adults). The food couldn't have been any better, wherever you chose to have your event. The dj and band, called the Cueball Katz were both fabulous and kept us entertained all night. And also many thanks to Denise for all her help and I would have no hesitation in recommending this place for any occasion. Thank you so much, Celia and Brian x

We had our year 11 prom at Baines Hall on Friday 8th with nearly 200 guests and it was brilliant. Denise and the team were incredibly friendly and accommodating for all our needs and did everything they could to make the preparation and evening run smoothly, making for a wonderful evening of food, music, and dancing. The DJ played music that kept everyone dancing until midnight. It's a highly recommended venue with superb staff and everything you need for a good celebration.

My company celebrated our 25th year in business with a 3 course sit down meal for over 90 people. The staff were excellent, the room well prepared and the food was excellent. Denise helped greatly with the organisation and I would have no hesitation in recommending this venue.

Attended a meal provided by outside caterers. Inexpensive, uninteresting, no choice and with sluggish service! Before the meal we were invited into the Elland Cricket & Bowling Club Bar. Pleasant people putting up with a room that needs refurbishment, an understocked (but cheap) bar and somewhat surly service. Bar food (pies) was advertised but, we were told, is rarely available - opportunities missed surely. The venue has much unused potential!

We had our wedding reception and evening reception at Baines Hall 6.5.16. If you are looking for a venue for your wedding I can recommend this amazing place without a doubt. Denise crossley is amazing, all her help and support and the setting up of our room on the morning with all our plans was amazing it was beyond perfect we are so grateful. The food was amazing everyone loved it. The kids loved it and had a good time. Andy the dj is brilliant everyone had such a great time thanks again Jen & Neil xxxx

We have just held our annual dinner dance at the Baines Hall from start to finish everything was so easy with the help of Denise the events organiser, and Richard the chef. We had a sit down meal for 122 people and it was amazing everyone had a fantastic time great venue for a party lots of space friendly staff and great dance floor space. Thanks again to all involved.

We have just held our Christmas Cabaret evening at Baines Hall and it went so well we have already booked for next year ! Denise is very supportive and so helpful from start to finish. We had well over 200 guests and the bar staff did so well with how busy they were being kept. A special mention to the chef and the ladies that were serving the food who did a great job of serving our buffet. Thanks to everyone at Baines Hall and look forward to seeing you all next year

Wow!!!!! We had our wedding reception at Baines Hall, Elland yesterday. We had the most amazing time, the hall looked perfect, just as we had discussed. The staff couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Denise Crossley is supportive, experienced and full of great advice as the event planner. The chef did a great job, everyone complimented the food and the drinks flowed efficiently. We can not thank Denise enough for taking the time and making such a huge effort to ensure we had the best day. If there was any advice we can give you if you are reading this thinking about using the Baines Hall it would be......do it! Get it booked! 10/10!

Brilliant party here recently for my 50th birthday. All the staff worked hard and put in the extra mile to make sure my night was just what I wanted, which it was and more!!! Great communication before the event so that everything went to plan, everyone got served quickly despite the crowds and the bottle bar went down a storm and got people utilising the whole room. Even had wine of choice bought in for family members. Resident DJ Andy was brilliant also and made sure everyone was dancing round and enjoying the music. Would highly recommend for any party/function. Thanks to you all once again - already planning my 51st !!!

The hall was very tastefully decorated with bunting and the tables looked lovely, the afternoon tea was delicious..

I cannot recommend the Baines hall enough for everything they did before and during our wedding reception!! All the staff made sure we had the most amazing day and the food was excellent! If you are looking for a wedding venue or a venue for any other function Baines Hall should definitely be on your shortlist!!!

Absolutely fantastic, we have had 3 parties here now and we even booked our daughters 18th here when we lived in Australia. We wanted to come home for her special day and Denise was amazing, everything was booked over email and we just popped in with only 5 days to go to finalise all the smaller details. Excellent venue, even better staff....they are happy in their work and joined in the party atmosphere.....and an even better events coordianator....Denise you and your team were fantastic, thank you so much, see you in 3 years when we pop over from Oz for our daughters 21st x

We held the Year 11 Prom at Elland Cricket Club. They catered a 2 course meal for almost 200 students and staff. Denise and her team were fantastic at working with us to provide a stunning evening which was enjoyed by everyone who attended. Every aspect of the prom was considered from the organisation of the flow of fancy cars (and various other modes of transport!), the meal, presentation of the chairs and tables and the venue itself, the DJ (who was superb!) and the layout to accommodate the photography booth we hired. I would definitely recommend the venue to others.

My daughter had her wedding reception here day and night, We had a fantastic day and Denise and her staff were very helpful, The food was very good and the prices were very competitive, The room was very spacious and the decorations very good

We used Baines Hall, Elland Cricket Club for our Wedding breakfast and evening reception and we were not disappointed. The attention to detail that Denise showed us was fantastic. Advice and help was continuously offered and it was never any bother if we rang up to go through the finer details. Every request we made was planned into our day. It was so organised that we had no worries about this venue at all. Denise also had the position of "Master of Ceremonies" and did an outstanding job. She was always watching in the back ground to ensure we were never bothered by anything unless it had to be brought to our attention (which nothing was at all). The room at Baines Hall Suite is very large and holds 170 people. The dance floor is one of the largest of all the venues we went to view. The room itself was very tidy and in good condition. The toilets a little dated but very clean and well stocked. The bar is quite large and the service speedy and brilliant. Looks like everyone actually enjoys working there. The food we had, which was done by Richard was remarkable. The menus we could chose from were very varied and we could basically do what we wanted for our menu. They were very accommodating. We decided on 2 dishes choice for each course. Everybody remarked on how amazing the food was. We actually have been back to Baines Hall for food after our wedding as they do meals for members and if you wish to sample the type of food that Richard creates, this is a great opportunity. Costing for Baines Hall was fantastic for our wedding with the drinks and meals included. Plus we were only billed for wine bottles opened at the wedding breakfast so it ended up cheaper than we planned. Overall, Baines Hall is a brilliant place for any kind of event....actually....i've already booked my birthday there!!!!

Me & my wife had our wedding day/night here 2 weeks ago & we are both extremely happy about how the whole day went, from the moment we got there to be greeted with a glass of champagne to us returning the next day to collect our stuff the whole thing was perfect...The 3 course meal was beautiful and Denise & her team worked tirelessly with a smile on thier faces throughout the day & nothing was too much trouble for them...Soon as we booked Baines Hall Denise as been just a phone call away to help & sort absolutely anything we asked, she sorted the DJ for us as well who did a fantastic job playing some great music either side of the band..If your thinking of booking Baines Hall for any event, especially a wedding, don't hesitate, I guarantee you'll have the perfect day..Thankyou to DeniseZoe & Dave...

From my first dealing with Denise I knew I had chosen the right venue! Helpful and efficient! The party itself was a big success with everyone commenting on the quality and quantity of food down to how great the DJ was. Bar staff were really friendly too. All in all a perfect night and I would recommend anyone to book their function here. Thanks so much to all involved!

The team here looked after a huge corporate function for two days - fantastic service and even better food! Everyone loved it and the team were really flexible...venue fab and we will back again very soon!

The Baines Hall Function Suite made an excellent venue for the wedding we attended. The food was really nicely prepared and served. The layout was really good and views during the day were excellent. Staff were helpful and friendly.
